Seattle’s New Restaurant Openings - Seattle - The Infatuation

"When Lao restaurant Viengthong closed its doors after 30 years in Mt. Baker, everyone panicked. Now, Magnolia Pho has taken over. While the space hasn’t changed too much, Magnolia has a huge menu of Vietnamese dishes like woven vermicelli bowls, butter garlic chicken wings, and over 20 different kinds of phở and noodle soups." - Kayla Sager Riley

Yelp
The place seems fancy and the food service was top notch. They were so quick with their food. Not only that, it tasted delicious.

Yelp
All around 5 star restaurant Some of the best Vietnamese food I've had ever, incredibly cute ambiance, super quick service. If you're nearby definitely stop by. If you're far make a trip out of it :) Oh also the pandan coffee is so good

Yelp
I've been here a couple times and every time I've enjoyed it. A couple times I've gotten the raw steak pho. This is pho where the heat of the broth cooks the meat. It makes for an excellent texture and very fresh tasting beef. The broth for this pho is also excellent. Another time I got the vegetarian pho. They put this delicious tofu in it that has mushrooms and noodles embedded in it. If anyone knows what this is called, please let me know. The vegetarian pho also comes with lots of different veggies in it. The broth is pretty good. The ambiance inside is great. There are cute little booths and tables. My only critique is that I wish there was more room for customization. I believe I asked if I could do beef broth with tofu at one point and it was not possible.

Yelp
I came here after hearing good things from a friend and seeing some positive reviews online. The place is small and cute, but when we first walked in, there was a weird smell that lingered for a bit. We were greeted and seated quickly, but it did take a little while to get our orders in. It wasn't super busy, so maybe they were short-staffed but just something we noticed. For food : We ordered 4 pho dishes, but they let us know they were short on brisket, so we had to adjust our order. We went with 2 orders of meatball-brisket pho, steak-brisket pho, and a combination pho. One of the phos had noticeably fewer noodles than the others. The taste was okay, but honestly, I wouldn't come back just for the pho. We ended up leaving 3 out of 4 bowls unfinished. On the positive side, the spring rolls were really good- super fresh, and the sauce was good too. We had two orders of this. The banh mi was also pretty solid. It's not going to be my go-to spot for banh mi, but I enjoyed it and would order it again if I returned. I'm curious to try their pork and beef banh mi next time. Drinks We ordered two milk teas. Mango and taro (not pictured) both with crystal boba. Both were pretty good, no complaints there. Price The total was around $130, which seemed pretty fair considering all we ordered. For those who enjoy the food, the price is definitely reasonable. Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but if I do come back, I'll definitely be getting the banh mi. Might be worth a try for some people I notice a group of people coming in and mentioning they liked the place so if they have regulars it must be a good sign that this is a go to spot for some people I think my experience might've just been preference.

Yelp
Really enjoyed this restaurant! Super cute vibes and seating was very comfortable. The food was pretty good as well and the servers were very quick and nice.

Yelp
Really impressed with Magnolia's Pho! The broth was so flavorful and quality meat used. Also tried the Pork Banh Mi and it was amazing. Magnolia Pho is located in a little strip mall with a few parking spots in front. Very laid back spot. The service was a little slow, but the food makes up for it.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday evening with my family. Located in south Seattle off MLK. Parking lot is available but limited. We were greeted warmly by the server and seated right away. We all ordered the pho and everybody was satisfied with the food. Broth was well flavored. The restaurant is a little on the smaller side, and as we were enjoying our dinner the place begin to fill up. If you order pho with tripe, you won't find it here, thought that would be worth mentioning. Both food and service were great though!

Yelp
Food - Great depth of flavor of food. Everything we tried here was good and left us feeling very content. There is a large selection of options, from noodles to rice dishes and even specialty viet dishes. Service - Waiters are very attentive and friendly. There is a call button to use if you need additional service check ins. Ambiance - Beautiful almost-dim lighting decor. Tables and booths available. There is also a to-go counter to order at if you dont want to sit.

Yelp
We have eaten here a few times. The food is delicious the menu extensive and the service is excellent. But above all these are really nice people. We waled 1/2 a mile to have dinner there with my baby grandauter were unaware they were closed on lThursday. The owner invited the baby and myself in to sit while grandpa went to get the car. The next day we went back and had excellent pho, salad, wings and a seriously ban me

Yelp
Bun Bo hue was good! It wasn't too heavy or rich. We didn't get a chance to try their pho but their mien ga was reminiscent of home cooking

Yelp
Pho was ok - I could pick up some cinnamon in the broth which is standard but fyi for those who prefer broth on the more mild side. Service was fast. My only note is I wish there was better ventilation indoors, when you step inside it feels a bit stuffy. Decent pho in an otherwise sparse area!
google avatar

Shawana L.

Yelp
Huge portions so the price makes sense. I have enough pho to feed me for two meals! My only wish is that the pho had more cilantro and onions (I know, I could have asked for more). The flavors were wonderful. Chicken wings came out piping hot! And the sauce to go with the butter garlic chicken wings really made it. I am definitely adding this Vietnamese restaurant to my rotation.

Yelp
Delicious - Lots of food - all the tasty authentic flavors! Wasn't feeling the best and needed something to come to my rescue, the food here did just the trick. Bun Bo Hue was fantastic! Jam packed with flavor, the right amount of spice, and plenty of veggies, noodles, and broth. I made three meals out of the take out! Crunchy spring rolls hit the spot, decently sized and the chow mein had tons of veggies. Happy camper. Lots of flavor, I'll have to come back!

Yelp
This is a gem in the area! The service was kind and helpful. They are still ramping up, so make sure to be patient while waiting for your food. The menu is pretty extensive and I think you're going to find something you like on their menu. Bun bo hue: the broth is delicious!! They put so much meat in here and it also included a beef rib. I got some shrimp paste and chili oil on the side to add to my bites and really enjoyed being able to customize it. All the meat in here was super tender and really hit the spot! Only wish there was a bit more noodles, but happy there was lots of broth Steak and brisket pho: the pho broth here is pretty clean tasting and straight up tastes like beef, so if you're into that, this is great! We liked it, twas delish! Also gave a bunch of meat in here Grilled pork banh mi: again, great portion of meat! Deliciously seasoned. I personally would want more pickled veg and cucumbers next time

Yelp
Nice ambiance with various lanterns and small village decor. The service was friendly. The monster pho was flavorful and had generous amounts of all the meats (steak, brisket, tendon, tripe) and a short rib where the meat was tender and easily came off the bone. The fried egg rolls tasted ok and nothing to write home about. Would come back for more pho and to try more menu items.

Yelp
Ordered takeout here! Vegan friendly! Got the tofu bun noodle bowl and banh mi and tofu spring rolls! The meal lasted three days it was so much food! Great value.

Tiffany R.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious and worth every penny. Staff was very friendly and prompt. The inside is nice clean and well decorated but I personally prefer takeout, an issue I usually have with takeout pho is them refusing to give raw beef ending it being chewy by the time I get home. Magnolia pho whoever does not do this and provides raw steak and it's perfect for when I get home

Hans R.

Yelp
Delish! My favorite is the vermicelli house bowl, Good coffee, I always get the same thing.
google avatar

Clint W.

Yelp
This place is a bit hidden away and it was pretty new when I when there. It was a lot smaller than I envisioned but the staff was really friendly and inviting. I stuck with a classic pho for lunch. Solid but not something I would add to my gotta have list.
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
Ordered Pho to go over the phone, because I notied if you ordered online the price was higher. Their Pho had a broth that was very tasty. It was a generous portion of broth I had enough to add extra noodles to it the next day. It didn't have the normal noodles I'm used to, but they were still good. I will be stopping by again for an easy weeknight dinner. Parking is free and easy when I went, it's in a little strip mall with a few other businesses so I could see their parking getting filled up at times.

Yelp
Excellent beef rib pho Fish sauce wings also good. Come and try this new addition to the Rainier Valley!

Yelp
A hole in the way place that has a pretty decent menu for Vietnamese food. The coffee was flavorful and the portions are decent for the vermicelli plate. The shrimp egg rolls are good and fresh. Parking available in front.

Yelp
This was a recently-opened Viet restaurant that we stumbled upon while looking for food in the area. All in all, great food and service! The bahn mi was $8, thick, and tasted great. The bun bo hue was pretty good. It was on the lighter side but still flavorful and the meat was tender. I also got to try some beef and snail spring rolls. Snail one was ok, but I really liked the beef as the beef pieces in the roll were flavorful and tender.

Kassandra R.

Yelp
The portion size for the pho was huge and only a short drive from downtown Seattle. The service was speedy. It was such a calm environment. Would go again
google avatar

M T.

Yelp
I came in here on a cold Seattle wintry day looking for something warm to hit my soul and this bowl of Pho delivered! The special bowl of Pho was flavorful and the beef tasted great. I also had the Thai green tea lemonade and that was refreshing for the throat. The restaurant feels clean and inviting. My favorite part is I know I won't smell like pho or food when I leave because they have a great hood system apparently! I can tell. I hate it when I go into a Vietnamese restaurant and it's foggy/humid in there because there is not enough ventilation (UW the ave pho shops) and I smell like pho the rest of the day. That's a pet peeve of mines. Here at Magnolia Pho it is not the case and the menu is extensive. I will be back to try all the other options they have. The staff was relatable and hardworking. They were very nice and courteous.

Yelp
Dinner at their soft opening yesterday was great! Tried the fresh spring rolls with beef patties ... soooo good. And veggie pho with bok choy Big portion, super tasty, and very helpful service from both the owners -- fun atmosphere! Definitely a local restaurant worth supporting, minutes from downtown. Grand opening is soon!

Yelp
This place is bomb!! Highly recommend!! Visiting from LA and this is probably the best pho ever

Yelp
So good!!! My daughter and I were craving Pho so I headed to yelp to find a good place. I'm picky about my pho! Magnolia came up with great reviews so we headed to Beacon Hill to come to Magnolia. We were not disappointed!! Ahhmazing!! So good and fresh and the portions are huge!! I had leftovers for days! It is beautifully decorated. My daughter and I sat in a really cool booth with pillows. Ir was very comfortable. I love the koi fish lights. Even more so after learning that it arrived in pieces and the owner had to put them all together piece by piece!! You can tell they put their entire heart and soul into their restaurant! Amazing customer service, amazing food! We will be back!!!

Yelp
Food, service, portion size, and atmosphere are all super. The tofu banh mi is BIG and also the best I've ever had. Easy parking. This is my new regular place.
google avatar

Audrey H.

Yelp
The service is very friendly, and I always have a good time there. I love their iced coffee, and the portions of food are pretty big! I recommend the banh mi and vermicelli bowl.

Jacky L.

Yelp
First time I love trying new pho spots Food was great and decently priced Ordered spring rolls and you get 4 big pieces for $8 Pho was nicely sized and just enough to finish a good meal with great taste and fresh ingredients Service was fast and friendly They also have buy 3 pho and get 1 free which is great for bigger parties or friends wanting to get together for pho
google avatar

Loriana L.

Yelp
Had the chicken pho that had so much chicken! You don't get sheddings like most places . You get almost 1/2 of a chicken with a delicious broth. It was a rustic and satisfying meal. Staff said this is how it is served in Vietnam. Also enjoyed being surrounded by tv monitors with YouTube Vietnamese food vlogs. It makes you want to order the foods being featured.
google avatar

Høangkhiem T.

Yelp
Was excited to see this in the neighborhood and was hoping it's good so went tonight and tried the bun Bo hue. It's one of my fav in the pnw. The broth was so flavorful and not watered down like other places. The portion was great and there was a lot of meat. Partner got the lemongrass tofu and that was really good too. Can't wait to go back and try the pho and other dishes. Def going to walk here frequently. The service was good - friendly service staff and gave good recommendations. The ambience was nice and clean but not too stuffy.

Yelp
We found this place when we're visiting Seattle. Good food good service. We come here 2 days in a row. Yummy pho

Yelp
Great Pho and very good service all for a fair price. Soups are very big which should be taken into account, you can share if you want

Yelp
I am rarely blown away by restaurants, but this place is a 10/10. They are new and the food quality and flavor is impeccable. They don't skimp on potions either, we had tons of left overs. Service was amazing, very welcoming staff. The place was cute and there is parking out front.
google avatar

Mikah K.

Yelp
Portions are huge, they have several gluten free options (let them know if you're gf bc there may be some modifications). We tore through our dinner and have plenty of leftovers. Lemongrass chicken was very flavorful, grilled beef spring rolls delicious with huge pieces of beef. I'd go back, for sure.
google avatar

Tracy H.

Yelp
I had lunch here today after reading some good neighborhood reviews, and I definitely plan to visit again. The food was flavorful, the waitstaff were helpful, and the service was relatively quick. My wife and I tried the Viet soup and a fried rice with pork belly, thinking we'd each need a separate dish. It turned out one dish would have been enough to fill us up, so we now have leftovers. Which is also great - I'm looking forward to eating them for lunch again tomorrow. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside so it's easy to pass by; but definitely stop in and check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
Thought I'd give this place a try since it's close to my work. They are friendly enough however, there was hair in my food. Not one but two. I don't recall what I ordered, but it shouldn't matter, how about a hair net or cap people! You can't see the kitchen from the lobby so who knows what's going on back there. I do know that I won't be back.

Jim L.

Yelp
I stopped by for some Vietnamese food after work and found out this restaurant has very creative and unique Vietnamese coffee. I tried the Pandan Coffee. It is vietnamese coffee topped with the pandan cream. The pandan fragrance is so delightful. The Vietnamese coffee is very authentic. very satisfied with the service. Being greeted with a big smile from friendly servers. They got what I need as requested. Highly recommended if you want to get some great authentic vietnamese food for lunch or dinner
google avatar

Karen S.

Yelp
The pho here is consistently delicious and fresh. As are the vermicelli dishes... It's close to my work, and makes a convenient lunch spot. It's definitely a regular go to. Highly recommended.

M C.

Yelp
The lunch we had was excellent- good quality and fresh vegetables with our Bun Vermicelli. Especially liked seeing the hard to find woven vermicelli noodles. Chicken wings are memorable. Would recommend you seek out this place and dine there. Service is cheery and attentive.

Ryan J.

Yelp
Awesome family and awesome food!!! I recommend this place to everyone. Please come see Magnolia Pho and you won't be disappointed at all. Bring your whole family and neighbors with you to get that experience. Check it out! -Ryan

Josue L.

Yelp
The wings here are amazing super juicy and crispy, their fried combo makes a great quick grab for lunch. I had the beef pho and it did not disappoint, it's great to see how no pho is alike, it's filled with aromatics and a subtle beef hints I did enjoy being able to grab the kid size so i could get my butter garlic wings. I haven't tried a lot on the menu but the ambiance and service will definitely have me coming back to try the rest of their menu.

Nolan P.

Yelp
Went here for their soft opening, tried the Bun Bo Hue and it was great! Very flavorful and came with these two big bone. Definitely coming back for it
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
What a welcome addition to our neighborhood! This friendly place makes excellent pho...we've had both vegetarian and chicken. The tofu in the vegetarian is fantastic because they lightly fry it to give it extra flavor. We love any of the vermicelli dishes. The rice paper sandwich rolls are fresh, crispy with a great dip. Every dish we've tried lovely and served with enthusiasm.
google avatar

Cornell N.

Yelp
We had a Pho and also the mixed veggies family size to share, both were excellent! Great portions, very tasty, good service and plenty of parking. You get it all!
google avatar

Misa M.

Yelp
They have such a big variety menus of Vietnamese food. The food was amazing closest flavors to food in vietnam. Their service is fast. Can't wait to go back to try more dishes.

Yelp
Simple and pleasant interior. Really, really good food. Elevated far above a typical pho place. In fact, the pho is good, but other dishes-- papaya salad with tofu-- catfish clay hot pot are ***** !
