My first time here since the business changed hands. This is the former Steve’s on Blue Mound (that I had been coming to before Brewer games for the last 20 years). The place generally looks the same, although maybe a little bit brighter. Our group came here before a Brewer day game, and it was packed! Ordered tenders and curd appetizers and then the brisket nachos for the group…they were a perfect choice! The brisket nachos were the favorite, an overloaded plate on nachos with perfectly cooked brisket and off the cob Mexican street corn. A must try. Great beer selection as well! They were busy on a very rainy day… but service was very fast. They offered a shuttle, which we took, down to the stadium. It dropped us off right in front and then picked us up right after the game and brought us back to the bar. It was great as it avoided all parking hassles. A very well run operation. I will definitely be stopping back here with the family to try their lunch menu (and a repeat of the nachos!) on a non game day!

On Tuesday July 15,2025 during the evening hours we sat at bar waiting to be served as the bartender placed a coaster in front of us she continued to serve other patrons totally ignoring our presence. When brought to her attention she indicated I’ll be right with you but never provided us with service. As bar owners we understand that times can be hectic but at that point the bar was not full yet she proceeded to wait on patrons surrounding us. We chose to go to a neighborhood pub that provides great service. We were there a few months back and had a male bartender which was great which is why we chose to return. We are all about supporting business owners. I hope one day we can return and have the great service we have had in the past.

On Wednesday July 30th, 2025 during the evening we sat at the bar. My friend arrived before I did and they were served. When I arrived the female bartender was engaged in a conversation with some guest. She never acknowledge me just continued on with her conversation. I sat there for about a good 10 minutes and still was not acknowledge. She was to busy talking about her vacation she was on. Being someone in the service industry and a fellow bartender this was a prime example of poor customer service. I used to go here when it was Steve's and had way better service. From being in there last night this place has gone downhill. We ended up leaving to go to another place that provided better service. Hopefully you address this with your female bartender and make her aware to be more attentive to guest and get them served in a timely manner. I don't plan on returning as this left a bad impression on your establishment for me.

This place was great - delicious food, fantastic service, and reasonably-priced drinks. If you are going to Wisconsin State Fair, consider making a stop here before or after as they have a convenient shuttle. We tried the bratwurst and fries. Both were especially good - the brat had some fun toppings including a beer cheese and the fries were perfectly crispy and came out so hot. Our bartender was really friendly and helpful, which made for a great experience. The place is very spacious, so it’s great for groups or grabbing a seat at the bar solo or with a few friends.

Easter Sunday and one of the few places I found open. I was out for a @WiscoMary Sunday Bloody Mary, and I was not disappointed. Magoo's has their own Tito's infused vodka with jalapenos, their own special Bloody Mary mix, their Worcestershire sauce includes dry rub seasoning. My bloody was served with a cheese curd, before stick, and olive 🫒. Connor was an excellent bartender/server. Definitely a great place to watch the game and have their delicious wings. Great staff, great atmosphere, great food.

We were in Milwaukee for the first time and excited to be going to the baseball game. Magoo's was mentioned as a great place to grab a meal and then use their shuttle service to get to the stadium. I'll start with the good - out server was attentive and the shuttle was quick and efficient. The not so good was that our chicken wrap and Cuban sandwich took about 70 minutes. That's a terrible ticket time for food that needs minimal cooking. Even worse is that the chicken in the wrap was room temperature and the Cubano tasted like they dumped a container of salt on it. It was inedible. As mentioned above, the shuttle got us to and back from the game quickly. The shuttle was also the epitome of American tip culture. Every window had Venmo QR codes. The driver made an obnoxious amount of jokes or comments about working for tips. It was incredibly over the top and just shy of outright begging.

Used them for the shuttle service to the fair, which for $1, is a steal. We also played some pool and had some chili cheese fries, while waiting, which were great. Everyone was very kind and service was great!

We were a group of 4 on an adventure in Milwaukee the day we came in. It had been a suggestion from a friend who swears by it when he goes there before Brewers games. I was actually pretty disappointed and probably wouldn’t go back if I return to the area. When we walked in it was completely empty and we were greeted by the bar tender who asked us to sit on the side with the bar and stated she hoped we wouldn’t mind if she just talked to us from there so she wouldn’t have to walk back and forth. I grabbed our drinks from her at the bar and brought them to our table and I got our checks and paid at the bar. Our food was slow to be brought out to us. One of us tried the fish and she said it tasted like soap so she didn’t finish it. My steak sandwich was so smothered in cheese sauce I couldn’t really taste anything else to say if it was good or bad. It left a lot to be desired. Positive notes: the option for a shuttle to the State Fair was nice(we didn’t use it), parking was easy and the Potato Pancakes were absolutely delicious (I had never had one before and this place set the bar high).

Yelp
Just an update on a previous review. We visited on Saturday 3/15 for the St Patrick Parade. Got there at 2:00, before the parade which started at 3:30. This place was just packed with all the other leprechauns but we were able to find a table as most of the patrons were doing shots at the bar. There was St Patricks activities all weekend long. Including green beer and Irish fare, My husband and I split a reuben which came with fries. I was sure glad that we shared due to the amount of food we received. The sandwich was about 3 inches high and the fries were piled up and hot in the basket. Everyone was very cheerful and pleasant. Service was on point and our server got our drinks right away, then the food came out about 10. minutes later. We left to go watch the parade. There was even a table set up outside for beer and liquor sales Then when it was over, back inside for more drinks. This place has a sports bar essence, and it can be very busy. Parking is very limited as the lot only holds about 8 spots and one side of the road is no parking. Be prepared to walk a block or two, Just a fyi ,there is a little back room that can be used or rented out. Perfect for a retirement party or such. This is also where you sit if you want table service if it is not rented out. Would I go back, definitely. I'm still trying to get there for Taco Tuesday Sorry, no pics

Yelp
We came here excited for the Brewers shuttle and some pre-game food, but the experience quickly went downhill. The bar food was forgettable at best, and the atrocious customer service was both slow and dismissive. Our diverse group couldn't ignore that we were treated differently, which was made worse by the staff's condescending banter and clear focus on tip-counting instead of actual service. The shuttle, which should've been the highlight, dragged out so long we started to wonder if we'd make it before the seventh-inning stretch. It's a real shame, because I used to have fond memories of this spot back when it was Steve's on Bluemound. After this visit, though, those memories will stay in the past. I won't be back. Kelly's Bleachers, or McGinn's are far better bets for good service and a game-day ride. The highlight of your visit will be leaving!

Yelp
Went here on 5/9/24 @3pm I went here with a friend and had never been here before. We got here a little early and they did not open until 3pm. Great place- check them out. They are known for generous portions and I can see why. Food is reasonably priced. This establishment is simply awesome and I am already planning on going here again. Highly recomendad. My friend had a drink. I just got an ice water. We split the homemade potato chips with pulled pork - very good &came up fresh and hot. Make sure u check out the pics. If you are a Brewer fan they have 4 tvs and the bar area. But there are rv's all over. They also have pool tables if u like pool. Also- need a ride to the game, they will take care if the ride for you to and from the game right back to the establishment. I don't drink but was told the bartender did. Great job. I have a few refills in my water. Place was clean inside. Locally owned. Make sure you get out and support them. They are simply awesome.

Yelp
I think I found my new favorite "hometown" bar in the city. Every single thing I ordered was so tasty. And then I saw on their menu that they are a scratch kitchen! You really can tell, the food tasted fresh. The jalapeños have to be grown by them because of how large they are. Even the pickles on the burger tasted homemade, very dilly. Our waitress was very sweet and knew before I could even ask for more lol she was on point. Plus with all of the tv screens everywhere, I'll definitely be coming for a packer game. They have games all over, darts and pool tables. It's a great place to watch a game, hang with friends, or eat amazing food. Oh and try the clam chowder, it's that taste of comfort and home you want on a cold night.

Yelp
I met some friends here to watch the St. Patrick's day parade and while I was here grab some lunch. I was really looking forward to a corned beef sandwich but when I looked at the specials for the day they were offering $12 Reuben baskets. I normally order Reubens without the dressing and light kraut if a regular corned beef sandwich is not available. I let the waitress know this is what I wanted to order along with fries. When I received my order it looked good, but when I took a bite I noticed there was quite a bit of sauerkraut. I took one of the slices of rye bread off and there wasn't light kraut on it as I requested so I just scrapped come of it off. The corned beef wasn't bad, but my only criticism is that they cut the brisket with the grain instead of against so the meat was stringy. The fries you get is plenty and was hot and crispy to where I had to let them cool off a bit. I will go back to give other items a try on their menu. My friend's boyfriend ordered the smash burger and said it was pretty good so I figure I will order that next or give the fish fry a try.

Yelp
Enjoyed my burger but was double charged!!! We started a tab with a card but informed them we were paying cash. The bill arrived, I reminded him we were paying cash. I also crossed off the top and wrote CASH in big letters and did NOT sign the slip. Handed them cash to cover both the bill and a generous tip. A few days later I checked my account and I was charged!!! Called Magoo's and they were happy to help. Gave them all my information and the owner was going to handle it. After about a week of calling and texting he just ghosted me. Great way to treat customers. Had planned to return for a concert with a group but took everyone somewhere else. I won't give this place another dollar of my money. Lesson learned.

Yelp
Heading to a Brewers game and wanted to get the free shuttle. I arrived about 11AM for an afternoon start and there wasn't a big crowd . Sat at the bar and the guy behind the bar was very friendly and helpful. They had a very nice sized menu, with quite a bit of interesting choices. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy with fries. It came out in good time, and it filled the plate. The shrimp were huge and cooked just fine. But there's no easy way to eat this like a sandwich. Knife and fork time for certain. Asked about the routine to get the shuttle and it was easy peasy. They provide parking in a lot, and there were plenty of on street parking available in a nice neighborhood. Magoo's gets my vote.

Yelp
This place has absolutely disgusting greasy food. Never coming here again. Cheese curds are soggy grease balls. Chicken tenders were pooling with grease. Grilled cheese sandwich was the same. Horrible

Yelp
Since I work in the area, it's nice to have this location as an option for shuttles to Brewers games again. It also helps that I can enjoy them for lunch when they open early for Brewers day games. I recently did just that and ordered both the cheese curds and bourbon BBQ chicken thighs. The curds retained more grease that I would have liked, but they were very good. The amount of batter on the curds and the amount of beer in the batter were both spot on. If you like the taste of bourbon, you'll love the bourbon BBQ. It's very pronounced in the sauce. Whether they serve chicken thighs by choice or by necessity because the cost of chicken wings is ridiculous right now, they made the right decision. I feel you get more meat by going with chunks of thighs compared to wings and I personally prefer dark meat chicken to white meat chicken.

Yelp
Great service fair prices. Went there for the fish fry fish was burnt but amazing the fish inside was still flaky and moist still slight burnt flavor.

Yelp
Great food. Room to move around. Staff friendly. Shuttle to and from the Brewers game.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Went there before a brewers game and took the shuttle to the game. I will be tailgating there from now on. Smash burger was awesome.

Yelp
Went here prior to a Brewer game. We got there about an hour and a half before the game, so the crowd was slim. Off the bat, you could see that they were short on wait staff. One server for an upcoming game rush was not going to be good. The server was overwhelmed, but kept her composure. Our food order was cooked expeditiously, very well prepared, and the salads and burgers were fresh and plentiful. Shuttle service to and from the game went without a hitch! Kudos to our server!!!

Yelp
Bartender was great the wings were not. Worth a try for the drinks and casual vibe. I was torn between three stars, and four stars, but added that extra star for the service.

Yelp
Great neighborhood experience with entertainment some nights. Staff has always been friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Do not support Magoo's unless you want to be double charged. We held a tab open using our card and ended up paying in cash. In addition to paying in cash our card was also charged. The food was good and prices are reasonable but we will not support Magoo's.

Yelp
The prime rib on Saturdays is to die for. It's the best deal around for the money. Melt in your mouth meat, savory potatoes, and OMG the deep fried veggies

David B.

Yelp
Good fish as many have talked about. Fries were hot and fresh. Coleslaw was far different then anywhere else. Had a vinegar base to it and was good . This Friday fish fry was the top two on 106.1 top fish fries 2023 edition.

Yelp
Super fun and friendly bar. We were from out of town and magoos was definitely the place to be. Cold cheap beer. Bar games. Kurt the bar tender was extremely nice. We lost our action figure in their pool table and he called us two days later to let us know it had been recovered. Thanks Kurt!

Mary W.

Yelp
We came for lunch on Saturday afternoon. We walked in the door and were warmly welcomed by Jeff the bartender. We met friends and had a drink and watched the Badger game. Ashley, another bartender also served us. She was extremely friendly. She introduced herself and asked our names and was very personable. We all enjoyed the Bloody Mary's, beer and coffee. We shared the chicken thigh wings (tasty). The burgers and steak sandwich were very good and the curry fries were crispy and flavorful. So many bars only treat their neighborhood regulars with their best service. We don't live anywhere close, but I'll definitely make the trip again for this kind of service.
