"The Madrid cafe opened its second American location in Austin on November 15. It’s all about churros, Spanish chocolate, and Spanish dishes like tortillas and paella. Its hours are from noon to 10 p.m. daily." - Nadia Chaudhury

This place has a beautiful ambiance. The seating area is very pleasant. The beverages are amazing. My husband and I have gone there daily and worked our way through their coffee menu. Everything has been delicious and I love all of the milk options and the care from the barista. We also visited the attached yoga studio and had a wonderful yin yoga session. This is a very cool place.

I love this place! It is a treat for me as it can get pricy with the add-ons. The mushroom lattes are phenomenal! I love a matcha latte with lions mane mushrooms powder or a chai. The people here are super sweet and kind. They always have good music playing that is uplifting. Part of the location is also a yoga studio, so you're getting some of those peacul vibes and energy. Great place to study or work. Just know people are coming in and out a lot. Also you have to try the bidet, I ended up buying one for my home afterwards, life changing. ❤️

Chill vibes are just pouring out of this great coffee spot. They share a space with a yoga studio so you instantly relax when walking in the door. Excellent select of drinks and pastries, many gluten free options. The parking is a little... little.. but that's south Lamar. This place is Authentic. They know what they are and they're good at it.

Google
I met a work colleague here today to chat about business and it was a sweet little spot. The coffee drink I got was delicious (a great recommendation from the barista) and the atmosphere was very living room vibe-ish. There was a yoga class going on at the same time but didn’t have any impact at all to our conversation. I got lucky and parked in one of the 3 parking spaces in the lot but could see how those spots might not always be available. Overall I think it was a great place to grab a coffee and hang for a bit!

Google
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Most adorable, delicious coffee shop I have been to in a long time!!!!! The baristas are so kind and give great advice on drink options!! I had the BEST matcha there, don’t even get me started! Overall my favorite coffee shop in Austin!

Sierra Pauley

Google
Stopped by for a latte and pastry but wasn’t sure what to get and the baristas Joelle and Indira recommended the brown sugar latte which was AMAZING. I really loved the space and the coffee was some of the best I’ve had in Austin so far! Thank you so much Maha, I will be back ❤️

Google
Fell in love with Maha the moment I walked in. I don’t even know where to start — their cold brew horchata?? Unreal. Literally so good. Best part? they make all of their syrups in house & use only organic ingredients. At this point I’ve tried everything on their menu & have NO complaints. Now… the GF bakes… guys… you’ll never be the same after trying them. Erinn, the owner, bakes everything with so much love and care and only the best ingredients. Seriously the best baked goods in town!! Lastly, the VIBES!! They are immaculate. Such a warm & welcoming atmosphere that just makes you feel so cozy & loved. I’ve never loved a place besides my own home this much!! All the people and the community there is so amazing. There is no place like Maha ✨

Google
I just love Maha Coffee so much. 🥲 I’ve been coming here awhile now and I’m not sure why it took me so long to leave a review! The Maha girls are just bomb which makes sense since Erinn is the owner and sets such a wonderful tone. OK so my go-to order always is a hot matcha with coconut milk & honey. 🍵 🥥 🍯 you can’t beat it. 🥹💛

Yelp
Genuinely the best coffee shop I've found in Austin! I've been here a few times now and you can really tell they've cultivated a warm community here. The shop itself is so cute and cozy, always the best music playing in the cafe and ambient beats playing in the lounge make for the best atmosphere to sit and read or journal with a warm coffee and yummy GF pastry. The baristas are all so personable and kind, they made me feel very welcome and guided me through the menu to get me the BEST americano I've had (hint: the house made brown sugar syrup is to die for) This is my favorite spot!!

Dave R.

Yelp
Wow I love this place for two very good reasons! first is INDIRA! She is one of the nicest, friendliest Baristas I've ever met! her energy is contagious!!! Second? Have you tried their Lion's Mane Latte? Try it!!! Thank you guys for making the community a better place to be!!!

Ashley B.

Yelp
Came here before a morning bachelorette yoga class for a quick pick-me-up for myself and the ladies, and what a cute spot! It's small, but gives an airy and cozy vibe. Not big enough to work in, but the perfect size for pick-up. If you're open to trying mushroom coffee, Maha will provide! I tried the Lions Mane latte, and it was delicious! In comparison to normal coffee beans, mushroom coffee did not give me jitters and gave me the right amount of energy needed for the rest of the day. The staff is very friendly and will answer any questions! You can also shop next door at the yoga studio for some cute home items.

Katrina B.

Yelp
LOVE THIS SPACE I moved in down the street and found this place, and I'm so so happy I did. It's a small little coffee shop with a great selection of specialty coffees, my barista explained they focus on mushroom and functional coffees, which is right up my alley. The seating area is connected to Sukha Yoga, which is SUCH a vibe and has incredible decor, yoga gear for purchase, and free WiFi. There's also an outdoor patio under a massive tree--the shade is clutch! I got an iced Brain Buzz: espresso with collagen MCT oil, house-made brown sugar syrup, and coconut cream--so yummy and perfect to hold you over until your next meal. All in all, I love the vibes, the baristas are friendly and willing to explain the menu, and the coffee is strong and yummy, 6 out of 5 stars.

Robert A.

Yelp
Nice little spot I south Lamar. Like most places there parking isn't the best but the drinks and service are good. It's connected to a yoga place

Kim S.

Yelp
Stopped in for a matcha and a pastry. Matcha was delicious, pastry was okay (good, just nothing to call home about). The ambiance and overall vibes/aesthetic of Maha are really what sets it apart. You can get a good coffee or tea at several places in Austin, but they won't have the same welcoming, community atmosphere that Maha possesses. If you're local, I'm jealous. If you're visiting and coffee and yoga is your scene, check this place out.

Tabby S.

Yelp
You should tell a customer if you're out of something before you sell them a drink. And if you realize after they pay that you're out, offering an alternative or at least apologizing for the inconvenience would be polite. Happened yesterday when I ordered a drink with coconut cream and found out as she handed me my drink that they were out. Drink still tasted good, it's good coffee. Just want to get what I pay for when I decide to spend $8 on a latte and tip.

Sara C.

Yelp
In town for my birthday and came to Maha for coffee. Had there Lilian's mane latte. It was excellent. Staff were very friendly and personable. Has a cute attached shop and yoga studio.

Cayla G.

Yelp
Maha coffee is a cute little shop off of south Lamar. I had a decaf cappuccino with whole milk which was decent. I was a bit disappointed by their selection of food items, which has greatly reduced since my last visit. The baristas were friendly and cheerful.

Indira R.

Yelp
Maha is my favorite coffee spot in all of Austin! The drinks are so delicious & incredible quality, there is a cute lounge area to hang/work, and the gluten free bakes are seriously the best GF pastries I've ever had. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, and the owners Mark & Erinn are genuinely such good people. I can't recommend this cute spot enough! And the shop dog... I mean c'mon

Sandra F.

Yelp
Service is great, the ambient is super relaxing and the lovely matcha is like warmth to my soul, I loved everything!

Tammy G.

Yelp
Not just your average coffee shop. Love the selection of different types of coffee selections! Friendly staff very helpful!

R H.

Yelp
Great South Austin location for a wonderful cappuccino or latte. I have to put up 85 characters and I really don't know what else to say because I think the fact that they have good coffee is enough, but you know how these stupid apps work.

Jordan B.

Yelp
This place is so spiritual. Literally. It smells like incense and is connected to a yoga studio. The coffee quality is awesome here - they have a lot of exotic concoctions with health benefits. Great place to grab some coffee to go. They have some really great incense to choose from in the connecting studio! Great vibes

Megan S.

Yelp
Small little hole in the wall off of lamar. The space is within a yoga studio so feels very open and peaceful, though I do wish there was a bit more in terms of seating for folks looking to work/study. I'm not in the area so parking was also a bit of a challenge. Staff were very kind and attentive. I ordered a classic matcha and it was absolutely delicious and smooth. If you're a matcha person you know a lot of places don't ask and just make it super sweet but this was the perfect earthy balance I was looking for! If you're not a matcha person they offer a wide variety of coffees and teas as well with a few snack options.

Heather A.

Yelp
I love Maha coffee. I have been frequenting since they opened. The staff are incredibly friendly. The signature drinks are so unique and delicious! I highly recommend to try the bakery items as well!

Minly L.

Yelp
I really enjoy the vibes here at Maha. Not only is it super cute on the inside, but it's also exudes positive and zen energy. After hanging out here, I definitely needed a good yoga session (probably because it is attached to a yoga studio lol) I ordered a lavender oat milk latte. Probably one of the best I've had! Downside, It is a tad bit pricey, I think eventually coming up to $10 a cup.

Amy E.

Yelp
Great coffee! Dedicated parking. I'm on a medically restricted diet but was able to have a latte there (for the first time in over two years) because their coconut milk is made with only coconut and water. They also have gluten-free (and sometimes even grain-free) baked goods.

Vanna V.

Yelp
10/10 recommend, esp if you're a mushroom lover like myself :) I had a lions Maine latte with lavender and oat milk - sooo yummy! Along with a breakfast taco with a cactus pepper, egg and cheese. Best of all, Courtney and the other gal working were incredibly friendly. I felt like I was chatting with my besties while they made me a latte haha.

Tracey V.

Yelp
Nice, must-see shop, nice vibe in this coffee & trendy store with yoga stuff & gear, meditation & wellness inspired products. Looking for something special and unique for yourself or a friend, coworker? you'll find it here. Too much good stuff to mention. The coffee shop was good, too, open early, (I was visiting from Calif.) and I'd have gladly given this review 5-stars if it wasn't for my regular black coffee being nearly $5. Another morning I got myself & a friend coffee and it was $14 bucks (her cup o Joe was $9!). I felt that, lol. But really, stop in and enjoy the dual experience.

Damian S.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this hidden gem on South Lamar, and it's become my go-to spot! As a Mexican-American woman-owned cafe, it radiates warmth and inclusivity. The craft coffee is a delight, and their 100% gluten-free bakes are a game-changer. Since 2020, I've enjoyed the locally roasted coffee, organic matcha, and cold-pressed juice - each sip is a journey of flavors. The retail shop is a curated haven with incense, books, tarot cards, and more. The shared lounge with Sukha Yoga adds a unique touch, providing a cozy space for community connections. Whether chatting, sipping, or immersing myself in a book, the welcoming energy here is palpable. Bring your BFF and make this your new favorite spot! #AustinEats #GlutenFreeDelight #CozyCafe"

Elies S.

Yelp
A lovely little spot to stop in for coffee and espresso with several in house made syrups. Friendly faces will greet you each time.

Christine L.

Yelp
Cute place attached to yoga studio with chill plants and cool motto meditate, caffeinate, masturbate They have a drink called Kali Mocha which are the names of my two dogs!! Cardamom latte is good and outdoor tables to enjoy the caffeine. Highly recommended

Shradha A.

Yelp
I love the positivity this place exudes. I'm always tempted by the lovely IG posts and interesting sounding gluten-free bakery items. I understand they say they're using higher quality ingredients but paying $7.50 for my medium sized drink and $6.50 for a 3-bite sized tamale (+ tax and tip) seems a bit on the pricey side. I would be happier paying $10 for 2 tamales if it actually served as a meal but $18-19 for a quick "1 beverage + 1 bite" snack (with tax/ gratuity) is hard for me to accept. The bean and cheese tamale tasted really good though. The tea cake was too dry and the fancy-sounding flavors were quite subtle and hard to detect or savor.

Sharon K.

Yelp
Would love to give it 5 stars because the drinks are delicious and the atmosphere so serene but prices run high

Bike R.

Yelp
I gave this spot a few tries over the last few years, and I'll probably pass from here on. Lattes in 8oz cups? Nooooooooooooooooo!

Rose D.

Yelp
Cutest little coffee shop in my favorite Austin yoga studio! Always excellent service and so much fun to see what new treats Erin's baked up every time I visit. Absolutely delicious gluten free and vegan baked goods -- best I've ever had! Coffee is great, and lots of options for specialty drinks.

Catherine M.

Yelp
Coffee place is inside a yoga studio. Unfortunately a class was letting out just as we ordered our coffee. It was a challenge trying to maintain social distancing from sweaty people while waiting for our order. Coffee was mehhh. Their motto, " meditate, caffeinated, masterbate" is off-putting. Not what one wants to think about when asking for extra cream for their coffee. Overall, feels inauthentic and perhaps trying too hard to achieve that hipster vibe. Next time, I'll just stick to Irie Bean for my dose of caffeine.

Megan L.

Yelp
What a cute coffee shop. It gives such positive vibes, and the owner is such a sweet woman. She came multiple times outside to tell us about her offerings, give us napkins and silverware, and also deliver our upside down pineapple cake. Their coffee is honestly really good. My friend and I both got a hot vanilla latte and really enjoyed it. I also loved the blueberry pineapple upside down cake. It's a small coffee shop attached to a yoga store, but I'm so glad that I came after I saw them on Instagram. I definitely want to come again!

Bridgit S.

Yelp
Amazing and friendly staff. My FAVORITE coffee in Austin. By far recommend. The specialty drinks are the way to go!

Priya S.

Yelp
Had the pleasure to check out this cute little coffee shop in Austin. We took our puppies to a socialization class and this place is less than a half mile from it. It's very different from other coffee shops, they're connected to a yoga studio and they have gluten free and vegan options. Walked in and there were a few girls working, super friendly and helpful. I tried the horchata cold brew (or was it latte) either way it was yummy. They have a lot of interesting drinks. Can't wait to go back!

Lena P.

Yelp
Seriously loveeeeee the vibes of this shop. As a barista, I visit coffee shops all the time! I love the matcha (loving kindness latte with coconut milk is my favorite) the shop is connected to a yoga studio which always has lovely incense burning and lofi vibes. the barista I see allll the time is super sweet!

Carolína D.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and I really like the coffee here! I've been here a few times. I loved my Oat Lavender Latte with Lion's Mane this last visit. My favorite thing about this place is their great selection of baked goods: they offer Gluten-free muffins from Zucchini Kill Bakery, like 3 options and they also had a banana bread and delicious coffee cake. Oh and Tacodeli Breakfast Tacos! There's a sitting area inside, which is very boho chic and smells amazing, obviously bcz they sell Voluspa candles in their little shop. It's so nice and peaceful I almost want to keep it to myself but I am feeling generous today. Did I mention it's easy to find parking here?

Kaeleigh S.

Yelp
Man I really love this place but I have two qualms. 1. It can be really hit or miss with the coffee. Sometimes the cold brew horchata is perfect, other times it's bitter and gross. Same with the chai, etc etc. 2. What makes that inconsistency all the more frustrating is just how expensive this place is. Like kind of over the top crazy expensive. I get it's quality but even the other overpriced coffeeshops don't rip you off this hard. A average coffee drink is like $8. Throw in just one gluten free goodie, like a muffin or slice of bread, and it's a full-priced lunch. It's kind of disappointing that a place that promotes such positivity, kindness, and inclusivity isn't affordable for most people. It makes quality, dietary-restriction-friendly dining even more inaccessible for so many people. So, I just can't seem to find the worth in coming here much anymore ):

Janet S.

Yelp
Nice little coffee shop connected to a yoga studio. All the food items are gluten free, such as Zucchini Kill baked goods.

Pamela P.

Yelp
Great vibe and super friendly people. Gluten free options are a plus. Will come again! -Houstonian

Elias B.

Yelp
Coffee is decent and they offer a good assortment of gluten free food. The atmosphere is also very relaxing and nice. However, I can't recommend any tacos with eggs since they're very overcooked. Service is also extremely slow. Dont expect to get in and out quickly. Overall an underwhelming experience.

Isabel P.

Yelp
An absolute 5 star experience. The evergreen chai with oat milk was phenomenal. It had the perfect blend and balance of spices. The gluten/dairy free banana bread was a true delight as well! The overall vibe was so calming and inviting and the baristas were incredibly friendly and such a pleasure to talk to!

Robin W.

Yelp
Great service, Tiny location with few seats outside. Loved my lavender latte. Definitely a great coffee to go place.

Val W.

Yelp
Place was very cute and had a great aesthetic. Somewhat small drink menu, although I'm sure you could ask for something custom, and lots of unique types. My biggest complaint is the cinnamon roll. I got it to-go and by the time I got home (5 minutes later) I couldn't distinguish between what was food and what was paper. The "roll" was more liquid and solid. And although eating sugary cinnamon mush is tasty, it's not what I was expecting.

Vincent L.

Yelp
Maha has quickly become my go-to coffee shop. Not only is the staff super kind, but they are truly thoughtful people who take the time to get to know you. They offer your standard coffee shop options (oat milk, almond milk, whole milk) but they go above and beyond with their variety of flavored lattes which all consist of homemade syrups that the owner makes herself. They really do put a little love into every cup. Not only is their coffee amazing, but they have homemade gluten-free baked goods that are so hard to say no to!

Hope W.

Yelp
Hello, heaven! As someone with Celiac disease, finding good gluten free treats can be tough. Then I discovered Maha...game changer. Everyone is SO kind and knowledgeable. The food is delicious. Great coffee. I had the cinnamon roll a few days ago and I'm still dreaming about it. Crossing my fingers they have it again tomorrow because I know I won't be able to stay away! Very COVID safe as they do take out + have outside seating.

Kelsey B.

Yelp
What a great spot! The service was warm and there were so many gluten free (delicious) options. The juice and chai were both great too!

Luisa L.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place but respectfully do not feel welcome. Luckily, Austin is full of welcoming coffee shops.

Bethany R.

Yelp
So disappointed!!! I am a frequent patron of Maha, and often come with my colleagues who work nearby. On my coffee run this morning, I can say that I never expected to be treated like I was. I walked in and was not greeted nor acknowledged. I awkwardly waited while I listened to the male employee with a beard talking shit about someone to the female employee for a few minutes while I sat there ignored. When I was finally acknowledged, the female with a septum piercing didn't even say hello, how are you, what can I get for you, but a rude "yes?" While looking down her nose at me. I wish I had just left but I gave her my drink order and told her I would like a muffin while I proceeded to take it out of the glass display - which I have done since y'all opened... She rudely said "We will get that for you, thanks." With a scowl. I have never felt so small. If it is such a big deal, there should be a sign that says not self-serve. It's not like I opened the lid and drooled all over or fingered every single muffin in there. Just the one I wanted and slid it out. There was no need for her to treat me that way. I always loved coming in to Maha for the good vibes and yummy coffee... but the vibes were so icky today and left such a bad taste in my mouth that I threw away my drink and muffin. Don't want any part of that energy.

Lindsey R.

Yelp
Love it here! Great vibe, better coffee. Can't wait to try yoga here. Also gluten free, nut free bakes! Yum

Mallory M.

Yelp
Great idea to have a coffee shop connected to a yoga studio. They make their own syrups in house-- cardamom, vanilla, and lavender. I saw they use Greater Goods beans and have all the milk alternatives. There's one bench for seating but no tables-- definitely a grab and go kind of place. I ordered an iced cardamom latte and am pleased with it. The staff is friendly and helpful, always a plus. Overall a great after yoga treat.

Kendal Ann M.

Yelp
If you are in the South Lamar neighborhood, you need to check out Maha. My husband and I ventured into Maha last week right before closing on a Saturday and had a wonderful conversation with the owner while she was making our coffee. Not only are all syrups made in-house, but they're all gluten-free, too. For my gluten-free people who need a sweet treat, the cinnamon roll will not disappoint. They have a few other GF options as well. I loved Maha and I can't wait to be a regular here.

Katie A.

Yelp
I'm a long time Austinite and coffee shop enthusiast, and Maha has one of the best lattes around. Their cardamom latte is HEAVENLY! They have a beautiful selection of baked goods (gluten free!). I get the cinnamon roll every time and it never disappoints. I also have to mention the staff. They're so welcoming and typically in very good spirits. It's always a nice vibe pick me up stepping in there. Only major drawback for me is the price, it is a bit pricy so I don't visit as often as I would like to. Also, the space is attached to Sukha yoga studio so it isn't really designed as a spot to hang out. There is a bit of seating out front however! If you're lucky, you might encounter the owners Pomeranian (more closely related to a lion- you'll see what I mean) All in all, Maha is an incredible spot and great addition to south Lamar. Highly highly recommend it!!!!!

Kim S.

Yelp
I was in town visiting a friend and yelped coffee. I was in search of a place that not only had amazing coffee but a welcoming and warm vibe. Maha coffee did not disappoint! Erin was very informative and friendly she made me an incredible mocha with all sorts of spices inside. I've never had anything quite like it before. It was so good and pretty much gone in 60 seconds,I couldn't put it down. I also had the gluten free banana bread and it was so filling. I couldn't finish it all( saving for later). There is a yoga studio attached and the energy in this place feels so calm, grounding and peaceful. Great place to hang out and do some work too.
