"Maha is an institution—a well-oiled machine in a swish CBD space serving Middle Eastern dishes that recall the chef/owner’s childhood. You’ll find wines from as far afield as Morocco and Turkey to pair with spice-laden dishes like slow-roasted lamb shoulder with smoked eggplant, and miniature doughnuts stuffed with Turkish delight jelly. Offshoots Maha Bar in Collingwood and Maha East in Prahran are smaller, livelier, and often easier to get into." - Ellen Fraser

We visited to celebrate our anniversary. The ambiance of the restaurant is both cute and romantic, making it a perfect spot for either lunch or dinner. Every dish we tried was not only beautifully presented but also tasted delicious. Our favourite dish had to be the Roast Duck, I'd also highly recommend trying their rice with the main courses. It was so flavourful that I could have had it on its own! We shared the Baklava Tiramisu, which was the perfect sweet ending to our celebration.

Elevated middle eastern Australian fusion. My first experience with this type of cuisine and I can’t think of a better introduction than with the excellent presentation and offering at Maha North. The staff were friendly, patient, and happy to explain our naive questions. I wish we had room for dessert.

TLDR: food was alright, dining seating was too cramped to be comfortable. Too close to the tables on either side, space is also very small, which means chatter volume is amplified. Not a pleasant dining experience. Snacks: king crab dish & brisket bun was delish, would recommend Smalls: salmon was meh, not flavorful enough. Quail was cooked well deep fried and succulent, but personally wouldn’t order again as it looked and tasted like a chicken schnitzel which I’m not a fan of. Large: habibbi chicken’s sauce has a bitter aftertaste that I didn’t enjoy and the chicken the surface was burnt a bit too much that it also had a bitter taste. the duck was cooked nicely lovely chew and juicy, however I wasn’t that big of a fan of the sauce personally, was a bit sweet and sour but not a light tangy sweet and sour but muted. Sides: rice, has nice flavours just right for a side not too loud, I was able to cleanse my palate using it.

From the cosy & intimate interiors, the service & most of all the food. Not only was the food delicious & beautifully plated, it was generous in serving! A feast for the eyes, tummy & soul. Do yourself a real favour & get yourself to this venue stat. We love Maha North!

We loooove a Maha restaurant! First time in Maha north and it was delicious. I had the veggie/vegan menu and my partner had the regular menu so nice to be able to have both option. The hummus and bread was yummy, as well as the falafel bite and smoked eggplant, finishing with the baklava tiramisu, everything dish was yummy! The abricot and ginger cocktail was unreal, topped with a hibiscus cream, loved it. Highly recommend Maha North (any Maha restaurant really), this one is a touch less “fancy” than the city one, which i don’t not mean in a bad way, it is nice when you want to have a really nice dinner in a bit of a more chill vibe, the food is just as good.

My partner and I had a great time, food was amazing, did the set menus and it was so good plenty of food, and great choices for vegetarian as well, amazing service by Connor our waiter. Must try the baklava tiramisu.

Reserved a table for 2hrs. The waiters ignored us for 15 minutes after we didn’t order drinks so I had to go up to the counter to ask for a menu. There was only one other table with guests. Entrees came quickly and were quite good but the mains didn’t arrive until 1hr 45mins later so we had less than 15 mins to finish all the food. By this stage the restaurant was full. We were basically kicked out just before 2hrs was up. My guests felt so rushed, had indigestion and I was very disappointed and embarrassed as I highly recommended it as my favourite restaurant has always been Maha!! Food is definitely nowhere near as good as Maha but they charge similar. Unprofessional service considering we spent more than $75pp on food.

Maha Collingwood offers a delightful culinary experience characterized by its exquisite presentation and flavorful dishes. While the portion sizes may be on the smaller side, the quality of the food more than compensates for this. The staff members are notably professional, enhancing the overall dining atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the Tiramisu, which was uniquely served and presented a novel take on this classic dessert that I had not encountered before.
