Google
Mahogany Winery is truly a gem! Their award-winning wines are absolutely delicious, and the owners are such warm, genuine people with a beautiful story of taking a chance to follow their dream. The setting is stunning, with gorgeous views and vibrant flowers that make the experience even more special. A must-visit!

Absolutely LOVED Kim’s place. The wine was INCREDIBLE! Easily my favorite winery in Ramona to date. Kim was so friendly and hospitable. The patio was lovely and the views were gorgeous!

Had a great time harvesting grape for making wine. They served us dinner and gave out free wine. It truly a fun experience with the right people. Owners Kim and Mike are great people and very friendly and great hospitality. And also did some grape stomping and the end if the night. They have great wine and great prices. If you need to stay the night there is a great air bnb next door you came book and enjoy your evening stay without drinking and driving. Trust me it's a great winery

Google
Very relaxing patio and great estate wines to share. There aren’t a lot of places which have a Mourvèdre. Good place to check out if you’re out tasting in Ramona. Bring some takeout food with you.

Google
A charming place with a spicy Zin and a lovely red blend. Their syrah was also very yummy. Alex was very friendly and introduced us to their wines with great suggestions. Their location is in a peaceful and beautiful valley away from all the noise. I'm definitely visiting again.

Google
The wine offerings are very different from the usual Ramona Wine Valley fare. Small batch, enjoy it until it's gone. Kim and Michael are great hosts. Beautiful location. A few minutes off the main road.

Google
One of the best wineries in San Diego county. The combination of organic growing, and long barrel/bottle aging sets them apart. Just south of Ramona and easily accessible from San Diego. Reasonable wine prices.

Google
This boutique winery is a small start up in the hills of Romona, CA. You have to pay attention to see the signs pointing you up the road to the winery, but your attentive driving will be rewarded with excellent award-winning wine and one of the friendliest vintners you will ever meet. If you enjoy wine I highly recommend visiting this winery.

Yelp
The winery is just a few minutes south of the main highway into Ramona. The drive in is beautiful in country roads with lush greenery. This winery grows its own grapes. I tried as part of the holiday wine trail of Ramona, the white sangria, Cabernet Sauvignon, merlot and Zinfandel. I enjoyed the Zinfandel and white sangria. Also had a wonderful time chatting with Kim about wines, local industry and birds.

Yelp
The owners here are great and friendly! We visited for my birthday, and everyone had a lot of fun. No one was a wine connoisseur or anything, but the vibe and atmosphere were fantastic! I would definitely go back!

Yelp
Wonderful first time at this beautiful winery. Wonderful owner, Kim, was so nice and accommodating . . . I came out to hear my friends sing . . . Ann Butterfield and Cheri Choy and they were GREAT

Yelp
A beautiful spot in Ramona! Gorgeous views and very nice people. Wines are very sip-able especially the red blends. Great spot for a get together.

Yelp
Came back to Ramona and visited Kim at the tasting room. She remembered us from our prior visit and Facebook following. Loved all their wines, especially their 2009 Merlot, and their 2010 Zinfandel.

Yelp
A hidden gem of a winery right next to Dos Picos County Park! We have been exploring the Ramona Valley wine trails so we decided to book a camping trip in conjunction with some wine tasting. We booked a 3 day weekend at Dos Picos County Park. We saw that Mahogany Mountain winery was close by, so after getting our camp set up, we decided to head over for their "happy hour" tasting. What we found was a great little winery with excellent wines. We were served by the wine makers wife, Kim. She was exceptional in her knowledge of the wines produced at Mahogany Mountain and took us through a great tasting experience. What's great about the tasting rooms in Ramona Valley is they are small enough to be staffed by either the wine maker, or someone involved in the process so you get a lot more information on the production of the wines as opposed to larger places in Temecula or Paso. We purchased a couple bottles of their 2006 port and the "Los 33" red wine blend which is exceptional! This winery was a great find, and we will definitely be back for another tasting soon!

Yelp
Owners are nice- wine is just okay. The Port was the best. Nice patio with beautiful views.

Yelp
We bought a Groupon for wine tasting and wanted to go out to Ramona to check out Mahogany because of the good yelp reviews. The last week the Groupon was valid, there was a torrential downpour and flash flood warnings in Ramona so obviously we did not make it out. I sent a personal message to the owners of Mahogany to ask if they would honor the Groupon after the expiration date due to the unusual weather and was promptly told no. We are members of several wineries and love supporting local businesses but this poor customer service and business model will ensure I will never visit this establishment. Too bad. You probably just lost a wine club member. Zero stars if that was possible on yelp.

Yelp
Let me preface this by saying I don't know anything about wine. This was part of my Ramona wine tasting Groupon adventure. When I purchased the Groupon, I chose the chocolate with wines selection for $2 more I think it was. I imagined it was going to be be a nice homemade truffle or something. Instead it was 2 store bought wrapped pieces of chocolate. One tasted good. The other was a Hershey kiss which was funny, surprising, and disappointing all at the same time. Their tasting area was half bar, half gift shop. I thought it was kind of cheesy, but I did end up buying a picture frame that was revealed to be from Kohl's originally. The owners were very friendly and the wines I enjoyed. I bought a bottle which to me was affordably priced. While my experience wasn't bad, the chocolate thing and thrift shop vibe isn't doing it for me. I would go back but I'm not in any rush.

Yelp
Tasting room is charming, and I found 3 wines I really liked - changed my opinion of what is possible in Ramona wine making! 2007 Merlot: nice and DRY, rounded berry flavors - how Merlot is supposed to be (despite it's almost ruined reputation from over production and over distribution for the palate of the masses) 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon: they describe it as "soft tannins" and this is true, the tannins I want are there and yet it is not overly fruity as their 2008 vintage is. Definitely worth drinking! Pinot Gris (can't remember the vintage year, and it's not on their web site): in the French style so it is subtle tropical aromas, smooth - almost but not quite silky (actually silky would not be something I want in a light, crisp white, so that's a good thing!) Also, talking with the wife portion of the winemaker couple, I was impressed by how knowledgeable she was and how much she was interested in what I had to say - a true CONVERSATION about wine :)

Yelp
Best wine in Southern California, and the most National Gold Medal Awards too! Beautiful location with forever views. Mike and Kim Hargett are very gracious hosts with a keen knowledge of Viniculture and Winemaking. And what a venue!

Yelp
Super beautiful scenery and gorg drive to get here! The nicest wife and husband owners. Very knowledgeable and friendly and to top it off Fabulous Wines! We couldn't leave without some wine to go;)

James S.

Yelp
We really like their Port. It makes a great gift for special occasions, and is enjoyed after dinner. Sometimes we will even break it out when we have a party, but mostly we keep it for ourselves. We have been happy customers for years and the Vineyard and Winery has been growing every year. The owners always try to make your experience a good one.

Yelp
Skip the Cheese plate. It was a CheeseHeads Monterrey Jack cheese stick (expired), a Babybel Light, and a Laughing Cow Creamy Swiss wedge. The crackers were Ritz, and stale Saltines. But the the server at was very friendly and entertaining. The 2009 Mourvedre was nice, aggressive and oaky- it was the standout for me. Give these folks a try... I'm just still trying to get over being served individually packaged cheese food product at a winery

Kathy H.

Yelp
I ordered a dozen of the Mahogany wines, including the award winning 2008 and 2009 Merlot for the holiday season, everybody loved them. I think I like the 2008 Merlot the most.

Yelp
I have tried almost every winery in Ramona and this is in my TOP 2! I love the 2009 Cab! It's the only one I tried but I look forward to going back and trying the others.... Owners were very friendly and welcoming! Loved the location ... very peaceful and beautiful! We will definitely be back! PS - the homemade Valentines day treats were a nice touch too!

Yelp
Over the weekend I had the priviledge of of attending a wine club event at Mahogany Mountain. And while I am not currently a wine club member, it was wonderful to still be invited. I might just have to join now so that I don't miss out on any of the events or their wines! The event celebrated the release of their 2009 wines with a tasting of 5 (maybe 6? I lost count - don't judge) wines and delicious food. My favorites were the Barbera, and the Mourvedre... Oh goodness.. the Mourvedre was fantastic! I overheard the wine members raving about how much they enjoyed this wine as well and are eager to see how it continues to age. The owners, Mike and Kim were so wonderful to talk to! I'm always a little nervous talking to winemakers because really, I know nothing except it either I like it... or not so much. But Mike and Kim were so easy to talk to and wanted to share all their stories. Ask them how they started - It's a pretty awesome story. They described their wines perfectly and gave a ton of information of how to pair their wines. Their son, Geoffrey, did the pouring and kept us entertained at the bar with his charm. It's a great family business and they make you feel like family too! The winery itself is very cute with fantastic decor. I love that they support their community by selling crafts made by locals and advertising local events. While I've had my fair share of winetasting in Santa Barbara and Sonoma, Ramona is probably the best kept wine secret. Now I need to plan a group winetasting trip... with the first stop being Mahogany Mountain because I know I'm going to need to purchase a few more bottles.

Jason D.

Yelp
Loved it! Very good Mourvedre. I would suggest getting at least two bottles. One to have when you get home and one to lay down.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Great find! Kim, the owner, was great and made our experience unforgettable! Loved the Cab and Zin! Will surely be back!

Nicole E.

Yelp
The wine was ok and the cost for tasting was a little steep for just ok wine and ok atmosphere. You didn't get to keep the glasses which you normally do at most wine tastings. The server was nice and she was entertaining. There are so many other great wineries in Ramona to try so I would skip this one.
