On the Grid : MCU Park, The Cyclones

"Brooklyn and baseball are synonymous, but a visit to MCU Park for a Cyclones game is more about the people and atmosphere, than the game. The colorful stadium has a lively energy and a lot of design nuance. Tickets are cheap and the cast of characters represent a true democracy of culture. The spine-bending Thunderbolt is the backdrop of the scoreboard and from every seat you can feel the ocean breeze." - work x work

Maimonides Park Review - New York - The Infatuation

"On summer Saturdays, The Brooklyn Cyclones offer a very special all-you-can-drink ticket option. Things get rowdy—and to add to the madness, some nights are themed (Margaritaville, Harry Potter, and Seinfeld are on the lineup). After the ninth inning, take a ride on the Wonder Wheel and feast on the vodka sauce square slice at L&B Spumoni Gardens." - Molly Fitzpatrick

Genuinely not a bad seat in the entire place just have decide on how close to the action you want to be. The concessions for the wrestling event was lacking. No servers or snack people walking around. We were told we would have to go around up and down and left to get snacks or smoke or anything. But other wise I've had to food here and it's good stadium food. Only bad cause the event was not prepared to take care of so called vio guest

Google
Came here last night for the Cyclones 4th of July game against the Hudson Valley Renegades and they won 7 to 4. Really cool pleasant evening. Minor league baseball is much more fun than a major league game with the seats being closer to the field and a lot of promotional giveaways and fan friendly activities and contests. Great way to spend the 4th of July or any other evening and afternoon throughout the summer next to the Coney Island boardwalk and amusement parks and stick around for post game fireworks

One of Brooklyn’s hidden treasures, in South Brooklyn. If you walk one block down from Nathan’s. And you get to catch a game night, Definitely grab a ticket. SO Affordable and these players get called up to the Mets eventually. The stadium views are beautiful, you can see the ocean better from the higher rows and suites. They also have swivel chairs section which was super comfortable equipped with a table for your drink and food. It’s a family friendly baseball org. They have cute games in between innings, so much fun!!

Google
nice stadium, all seats are close to the field. For soccer, best seats are section 16 and 20 along the sidelines. Great view...... Nathan hot dogs.... Easy subway access.

I had a great time watching Brooklyn FC play! It was nice to get there early and go for a walk on the famous Coney Island Boardwalk, then take in the game! Added some photos from this and previous trips there

Google
Cute and great for kids/summer outing. Right along coney island and a great way to make a day out of it. Tickets are cheap but food is overpriced and typical ballpark food. Parking available and $10 on game days.

Google
We came for gcw bash at the ballpark. I have been to many stadiums but there isn’t a better background for a baseball game than Coney Island. Once the lights turned on at Coney Island it make a perfect backdrop for gcw.

Yelp
Super fun ballpark to watch a baseball game at. Who would have thought watching a Brooklyn Cyclones game would be this entertaining? The ballpark is right off the boardwalk, only a short walk from the subway, with the rides practically an arms reach away. The beach is right there as well, creating a bit of a chill yet fun vibe at the park. Food options are expensive, so it is best to just leave them alone. You are better off eating before the game. If anything the whole experience is Coney Island personified into baseball.

Yelp
On June 1st, 2024 from 11 AM-5 PM, TWU Local 100 had their Family Day at the scenic Maimonides Park, in the heart of Coney Island, adjacent to all the big rides. It was an unforgettable day of fun, camaraderie, and family bonding. There were live performances, Union softball, bouncy houses, face painting, balloon animals, virtual reality pavilion, exotic animals, food and snacks, and giveaways and raffles from vendors. The space was used very well and everything was very organized. The parking lot right at Maimonides Park was for vendors only. TWU Local 100 employees parked in the parking lot on Surf Avenue between 21st & 22nd streets, just a few blocks down. There were portable toilets and a restroom trailer set up throughout the park. Prior to leaving, I checked out the baseball stadium and used the restroom there. The stadium is a good size and was clean.

Yelp
Visit Date: August 19, 2023 I came here with my friend, my dad, and my son for a Brooklyn Cyclones game. It's like your typical stadium, except there are cheerleaders at a baseball game which is interesting. You can get overpriced food, overpriced souvenirs and watch the game. It's not a bad stadium, I love baseball games so I enjoyed it.

Yelp
Came here for a game with my boyfriend's family to support his nephew's school. While we are not baseball fans, it was a fun night. Looking around it doesn't seem there is a bad seat in the house. I do know they do more than just baseball here. Definitely affordable for a family to see a game. Food was cheap too and wasn't your typical "stadium prices." We got a free baseball hat when we entered as well. That was a surprise. Staff that I interacted with was nice and the bathrooms were clean.

Yelp
Here for the home game of the Brooklyn Cyclones. They were giving out Christmas theme bobble heads and Santa Claus greeted us in the lobby. We were seated in the fourth floor rooftop deck. Watch out for foul balls! Overall, it was a good time, the beach and amusement park was nearby. There was a storm during the game but, there was a rainbow afterwards. There's parking there but, get there early! It's based on availability.

Yelp
Easy to get to by subway. Tickets are dirt cheap. A small ballpark, so all seats are great. Decent chance of catching a foul ball. Plenty of kid friendly stuff -- Face painting, run the bases after the game, and stadium giveaways. Fireworks after most Saturday night games. Arrive extra early and experience Coney Island: New York Aquarium, Original Nathan's, Boardwalk, Coney Island Circus Sideshow, Beach, and more. I would give it four stars but concessions are terrible. There are always terribly long lines for food and drinks. You will miss multiple innings waiting in line for food.

Yelp
This was our fourth Brooklyn Cyclones game. I love this ballpark. There is not a bad seat in the house. Although we had great seats! Four rows back, just a little behind third base. Great view! Unfortunately we didn't win, but it was still a good time. I don't find this ballpark expensive at all. Compared to others this is definitely a bargain. Especially the seats. We got free bucket hats at the door! (LOVE THAT) The sound system is great & the staff is too. If you are a baseball fan & are in the Brooklyn area go check out the Cyclones. Two thumbs all the way up!

Yelp
Maimonides Park (formerly MCU Park) is a small ball park that seats about 7000 people. It's more than baseball. Rugby and Soccer as well as music concerts are some of the other forms of entertainment. It's located on the Boardwalk at Coney Island. It's a cozy concert environment. Newly renovated and renamed in 2021 it is better than ever. Naturally I have wandered around on many occasions taking photos. I especially enjoy the huge sculpture of Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese. Also on the grounds of the park there's a beautiful dedication to 911. There's the title Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance on this memorial wall. It also says Brooklyn Tribute Walk. It's better to see the 911 Tributes and the Jackie Robinson/Pee Wee Reese Sculpture in person. If you visit Coney Island it's just steps away from the ball park. If you have the opportunity to attend an event at this park you shouldn't be disappointed.

Yelp
Maimonides Park (formerly MCU Park) is the minor league baseball stadium on the Coney Island boardwalk, where the New York Mets-affiliated Brooklyn Cyclones play. The stadium can also be rented as an amazing location for events. We were there for my son's graduation, not a game, and it was really an amazing, one of a kind ceremony. While not a typical graduation venue, we couldn't have asked for a better location than this with an incredible view of the Coney Island amusement park as a backdrop. With 7000 seats, we had plenty of space, and while it rained a little, attendees were advised to come with umbrellas and adapted. After the ceremony, we walked to the boardwalk just outside the stadium to take photos on the boardwalk and beach. The pretzels and Nathan's hot dogs from the concession stand were fantastic. This is a great place for a unique event venue or a family day of fun at the boardwalk and amusement park, followed by a game. Events. From their website: " Concerts, Graduations, Birthdays, Team Building and...Oh Yeah, Baseball Too. The Ballpark on the Boardwalk is the perfect setting for baseball...of course. But you can turn our house into your home by renting the ballpark for any number of events. The stadium has hosted events ranging from graduations to weddings, from Bar Mitzvah's to corporate team building activities. Plus college, high school and youth baseball, as well as rugby, soccer and football. We've also hosted concerts featuring Grammy Award Winning artists like Mumford & Sons, Daft Punk, Drake, Jay-Z and more." Inquiries for events can be made at https://www.milb.com/brooklyn/ballpark/rent

Yelp
lines were real long took almost the entire game to get a hot dog and a beer and only had one casher open

Yelp
It's always a pleasure to visit this park and watch the Brooklyn Cyclones play. What can beat very, very affordable baseball with a backdrop of the ocean and the neon lights of roller coasters? Every seat in the ballpark is good and allows for a good view--there are no bad seats. The seats are all comfortable enough and the stands are well-maintained and clean. Food offerings are okay. Be prepared to wait on line FOREVER, just as at the two MLB ballparks. We were sad that once again, Arancini Bros was MIA. The pizza, though "custom-made" with toppings of our choice, was soggy and slightly gross. Nathan's fries were deliciously salty and greasy. The only downside was that the women's bathrooms were very gross and didn't seem to be cleaned. We stayed for a Girl Scout sleepover and three or four stalls were locked (presumably by an errant Girl Scout or two?) so that there were very few toilets were available for use. This resulted in a rather disgusting situation and the floor was so filthy that nobody was able to crawl under to unlock the locked stalls. We look forward to returning to watch another Cyclones game.
