"The place to go for music gear in Brooklyn – for musicians, run by musicians. They have a great selection of both new and vintage gear and keep their prices fair and competitive. A very good selection of pedals including local favorite Death By Audio which are high quality conceptual pedals that look and sound great." - Swords-Smith

The performance venue feels like the Breaking Bad superlab - you think you're in a music store and then you go through an unassuming door and enter a subterranean industrial cavern. A very civilized coat rack, two dramatic staircases, a little temporary bar, a little stage, an appropriately massive sound system, and surprisingly good sound for a hard-surfaced box. Not too crowded, not too empty.

We attended a concert here in the basement concert venue. It was really a comfy little place. The store offers really unique older technology for the real connoisseur.

Main Drag Music has an awesome selection especially if you're interested in amps and keyboards. Karl is also very helpful. Highly recommend!

Main Drag steals from local musicians! I'm the second person I know that's given them gear to sell on consignment and never been paid. Karl Myers, the owner, is not trustworthy - avoid doing business with them at all costs!

Brilliant store with very friendly and helpful staff and a great selection of guitars, amps and keyboards. I went in looking for a Telecaster, but also got to try out a nice Rhodes and Wurlitzer, and even the third Minimoog ever made! Not too many electric guitars, but absolutely worth a visit for any vintage instrument gearhead.

The best place to go in Brooklyn if you’re in the market for a new guitar, synth, amp, pedal, or even just a fresh set of strings. Expert repairs on vintage gear as well with only $50 down for them to diagnose your issue.

Awful experience. Ordered a microphone stand marked as in-stock that I needed for a gig the next day and received an email saying it would likely be ready that evening, citing 2 hours as the window needed for preparing an order. The next afternoon, nearly 24 hours later, I showed up at the shop expecting to pick up my item and not only was it not ready for pickup, but it was entirely out of stock. Now, the website lists it as out of stock. This cost me $50 in Uber fares and a whole lot of stress locating a similar stand at the last minute. Furthermore, the clerk told me she would refund my money then and there, but it took me following up the next day to get them to actually do it. Never again.

What's not to like? Vintage gear by pros who know. A performance space. A Brooklyn institution.
