Top Philly Summer Treats to Beat Heat Waves | Eater Philly

"For a protein packed cool down (with gluten-free options), a fulfilling acai bowl is always a great choice, and Main Squeeze Philly offers several outstanding options. Visit one of its two location (in South Philly or Fishtown) to try the trendy Frutti Tutti bowl made with granola and topped with bananas, strawberries, and blueberries, or the Peanut Butter Jelly Time bowl made with strawberries, chopped walnuts, and a choice of peanut or almond butter." - George Banks-Weston

Quaint stop-and-go smoothie place with a vibrant and bubbly feel. There's limited seating along the walls for guests. I'm very happy about the deliciously fresh ingredients of my Frutti Tutti Acai Bowl and Sunrise Juice (freshly squeezed). This acai bowl doesn't have peanut butter or honey like other places I've frequented - not a good or bad thing. The cashier was very polite and welcoming. Make sure to pay the meter if you park your car out front of the shop.

Google
A consistently great smoothie. I’ve come to realize the prices are higher because it’s a higher quality product. A lot of food trucks are cheaper because they buy almost rotten fruit at an extremely low price from the produce market. If you want better tasting smoothies and bowls you go here. If you’re ok with possibly ending up on the toilet later, you go to the food trucks

I got the PB date smoothie - I can’t even call it a smoothie, it had the consistency of water and was chunky. Idk what could’ve gone so wrong that it was that bad. Unfortunately a huge waste of $12 and I didn’t have time to ask her to remake it. It was empty so I guess the girl just didn’t know how to make a smoothie. :( Very expensive but inedible

Love this place they have the best bowls, I get the acai bowl and it's always great. They did start using smaller bowls a while ago but I get it things are so expensive today it's either raise the price or use shrinkflation like everything else but the fruit is always fresh and the girls working are always pleasant and the place is spotless so don't sleep on main squeeze. Also met the owner Frankie recently when I was in and he's a great guy truly cares and appreciates your business.

If you're in Philly and looking for a nutritious and delicious treat, you have to try the amazing Popeye Smoothie packed with fresh Granny Smith Green Apples, Kale, Spinach, Mangos, Cucumbers, and Ginger, it's a perfect blend of taste and health. Highly recommend checking them out for a refreshing and healthy experience!

Wow! Me and my mom just stopped in. We got the glow up juice and sunset juice as well as the Avacado toast with ricotta cheese/ cherry tomatoes. Our jaws dropped with how good everything was. If you’re looking to support a small business, this is the one!!!(:

Absolutely fresh, tasty and delicious. My first time trying this bowl. I was clueless what to order with so many options in front of me. The female staff was so helpful with helping me make my decision. I truly appreciate her welcoming customer service! I cant wait to return again.

Yelp
Really nice smoothies and good service. The women working the front gave me a water for free. Would come back.

Yelp
Main Squeeze has a few locations around Philly and thankfully so. It now provides millions of us with the opportunity to experience fresh food, smoothies, fruit bowls, and more. Let me explain... I visited Main Squeeze in Fishtown and it, as with many of these locations, are small store but packed with fresh fruits and other ingredients. Though they have custom bowls, smoothies, and food choices, I decided to make my own acai bow. I started with a banana base and topped it off with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and granola, and finished with a peanut butter drizzle. Main Squeeze has a nice aura and curb appeal to friends wanting to meet up or someone looking for a location for a first date. As you can see in my pictures below, the sun was beaming through, providing great lighting not only for my pictures but also for a great ambient to work or study in. This place is solid!

Yelp
What a fun spot! My sister and I love to get smoothie bowls when we are together, and after seeing Main Squeeze advertised on my Instagram, I knew we had to go. The location is a bit random, pretty south on Broad Street. We walked over from Grad Hospital - it was a hike, but it was easier than trying to find parking, which I'm sure would be a nightmare. We visited on a Friday morning, and we were the only ones in there. The spot is small, so on busy days it's probably tough to find a seat, but we had no problem sitting at their counter. Their menu is super expansive - they offer a number of juices, smoothies, smoothie bowls, and other bowls. Our focus was on their bowls, and even narrowing it to that section made a choice tough! I wound up going with the Nutella bowl, which featured pears, figs, cherries, granola, and of course, Nutella. The acai base made it hearty, and the toppings gave it extra decadence and sweetness, but it still felt healthy. My sister got a bowl with a pitaya base, which made for a beautiful color! Hers was much more fruit-forward than mine, but she loved the tropical flavors. We enjoyed our bowls with cold brew, which was standard but good. There was only 1 employee working when we were there, so service was a bit delayed, but we also didn't mind since it meant our bowls were made fresh in front of us. Main Squeeze was a fun spot to hit for a smoothie bowl, and I would definitely like to try more offerings! I do wish it was a bit closer / in a more convenient location, but definitely not a hindrance. Would recommend for anyone looking for a hearty, fun, and flavorful smoothie bowl!

Yelp
Maybe I came on an off day, but my smoothie from Main Squeeze was just okay. I got the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Protein Smoothie, and it was fine but pretty bland. There were also large chunks of dates still in the smoothie. My friend got one of the fruit smoothies and added kale and spinach - I tried hers and it was also pretty chunky like it hadn't been blended properly. Definitely willing to give Main Squeeze another shot, but overall not a fantastic first visit.

Yelp
Cute storefront and curb appeal. The store and kitchen area looked very clean and staff was behind friendly. The Açaí bowl was fresh and large! I also loved the Chocolate covered Strawberry Protein Shake! Yum

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! The frutti tutti acai bowl was so delicious and refreshing, and the fresh-pressed juices are what juices should be. The Main Squeeze Mocha was also incredible! The coffee they use is so good, and it's the perfect thing when you're on the go in the morning. This is definitely going to be my new summer spot.

Yelp
I had a great experience at Main Squeeze. I picked up two smoothies and they were delicious. The place is adorable inside, the staff is super friendly and navigating my food allergy was easy. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I first heard about Main Squeeze because they left a flyer on our mailbox back in September 2021. They seemed to have been open for a month or two now. The smoothies and the bowls all look great. Beware that they're closed on Sundays though, and on Saturday they close early. They offer delivery via GrubHub, UberEATS, and DoorDash. Along with smoothies in their various shapes and forms, they also offer coffee here as well, which is pretty nice. They have both hot coffee as well as iced coffee and cold brew options. They really advertise their catering packages, and Main Squeeze definitely sounds like a great treat to have at an event or function. I definitely want to try out their Acai bowl. The store looks very clean and the outside / entrance of the store looks professionally done and is very appealing. Their menu printouts do look a bit dated and felt a little sketchy, but rest assured the store itself is very clean and professional.

Yelp
When Main Squeeze first opened in South Philly, I was extremely thrilled as there is a shortage of açaí spots down this way. I've been here probably ~10 times over the years since they opened. I was very impressed by the quality during my first few visits, but the quality has declined while prices have risen. I kept coming back because I like to support local business, and the owner is so likable and friendly. However, today I ordered the Tutti Frutti bowl & every berry in the bowl was frozen solid. Extremely unenjoyable and disappointed for a place that raves about their "fresh fruit". Gotta be a better $17 Açaí Bowl anywhere else.

Yelp
excellent all around service, delicious freshly squeezed juices, and reasonable prices. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the premisses.

Yelp
Main Squeez has some super tasty options, is right on Broad Street, and Frankie is a super genuine and nice owner! Highly recommend!
