"We buy our rye flour from Maine Grains, and it is so fresh and fragrant that it just balances so well with the tart cherries we fold in." - Kevin Chau

We had a wonderful tour of the mill. Our tour guide, Kayla was very informative and we appreciate really getting a chance to thoroughly see the process of milling the flour and all that’s involved in packaging ordering fulfillment shipping etc. We really appreciate you getting to get up close and really see how the mill functioned look at the grains before they were made into flour etc. We Had lunch at the Miller’s table, the café adjoining the middle. Our lunch was excellent and of course feature some of their grains in soup, bread and desserts.

I ordered Wheat all purpose flour that is milled so well everything I make tastes amazing. Completely elevated my food. I made Naan bread and flat bread crackers so far and they are so much better than regular flour. I bought oats which I made with almond milk for morning breakfast. I bought the beans sampler which are also incredible. Organic, filled with proteins and huge flavor. I will only order from Maine Grains. The customer service was top notch and replied within a few hours.I love it so much I sent my sister some for her Birthday. She is an amazing baker so I sent her the pastry flour and oats package. Thank you Yankee Magazine for posting Maine Grains in your blueberry crumble recipe.

I order their red wheat berries online every few months. I grind them with my stand mixer and bake a loaf of bread every few days for my husband and I for toast and sandwiches. The bread is so tasty, rich, and full of nutrients. Can't say enough about this product and what you can make from it!

Jessica was our most fantastic server! We were dealing with a very difficult day, as we had a death in the family. She didn't know that, but we needed some time away from clearing out our sister's apt. We were a bit boisterous, and she was awesome and a lot of fun and we are grateful she was part of our celebration of life dinner. The food was also absolutely fantastic. We ordered Mac and cheese and three different pizzas and several shots of the blue shine and sangria. Thank you so much, Jessica!

Yelp
The Maine Grains is a great idea and whoever designed the cafe should get proper kudos. It is welcoming and attractive inside and out. THat's where the charm ends. We arrived early afternoon -2 ish- and ordered something we thought would be a good showcase for Maine grains- a waffle. It took over 40 minutes to arrive ( the waitress said they were busy with 16 guests in the entire cafe). When it came it was not hot, burned along one side and doughy and squishy. There was a small container of syrup and a small pat of semi melted butter. The lattes were thin and without much coffee body or foam. We had also ordered to-go containers for later- a Mac and cheese that proved inedible and a quiche that was the best thing ordered although the crust was cardboard. A blackberry hand pie was the final disappointment, full of seeds without a berry burst of flavor. Stiff dough and overbaked. A sad experience not to be repeated. They need to find a baker, a cook, a chef, someone that will care about what is served to the public.
