Maine Island Kayak Co

We loved our kayaking experience with Maine Island Kayaking. Our guide took us out for 3 hours on a tour of the area, and we saw other small islands as well as historic sites. Everyone loved getting out to explore the old fort. We navigated some strong winds and waves, and our guide helped keep our large group together. Highly recommend this company, the staff and the tour. Great experience!

We had a great experience with our guide, Joe. Top quality kayaks (NDK for those who know). About three hours for the tour, with a brief stop for a land break at Fort Gorges (historic feature). Definitely recommended for those who are seeking an adventurous activity.

Coming from a couple who doesn't regularly kayak, this was a fantastic experience led by a great company! Just like they said they would, our 2 guides promptly met us at the ferry and brought us over to our kayaks! Before setting off, we were given our life jackets and shown safety protocol (including weather) and then off to start our guided paddle around! Had a great time, felt safe, and would certainly join them again!

Yesterday my husband and I had a fantastic experience kayaking around Peak Island with Jim. He was super knowledgable about the area and water safety, and very personable. Jim monitored the sea conditions and winds in advance of our arrival, which we greatly appreciated. On our kayak trip we saw nesting ospreys, which was pretty cool, and checked out Fort George. Overall, the kayak trip was great fun and we look forward to another!

We were a party of 4 and booked the 1/2 day tour, it was a lovely experience. A beautiful day with 2 great guides Jim & Zeke, they were both experienced kayakers and set a pace that we could all keep up with. The highlight was stopping at Fort Gorges which gave us amazing views and a different perspective on the Bay. From the initial email to the meeting us at the pier the whole team was friendly & responsive. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend. Thank You!

Booked an amazing half day lesson with Liz, did a small tour of the island followed by some very helpful skill building exercises completing my first roll! can not reccomend enough. from covering forcast, bringing us into diffeeent kind of swells and boat etiquette navigating channels.

Another great relaxed experience. Yes, Joe was at the 915 ferry with his paddle to meet ferry visitors. (If you're staying on the island, they are on the shore behind the Gull restaurant, so it's easy to ride a bike over to their location) They told us about the tides, wind, shipping lanes, capsizing, etc as part of the safety talk. We had a 3:1 ratio with visitors:guides, so nobody was ever far from getting personal attention. We saw bald eagles, osprey, military stores, and visited Fort Gorges, and got plenty of great stories and history from Joe and our guides.
