I’m giving them one star because my food was an absolute joke. First of all, I paid $4 for a glass of orange juice and it tasted sooo bad. It definitely was orange but it tasted nothing like orange juice. It tasted like sunny d but without the sugar, it was disgusting. I got the biscuits and gravy with a side of scrambled eggs and I paid extra for them to add cheddar cheese to it. The scrambled eggs were so sad it literally looked like they scrambled a singular egg and I’m not joking look at the pictures… they straight up just threw an American slice of cheese on top of my eggs. It 100% wasn’t cheddar, and it wasn’t incorporated into the food at all. Btw American cheese was a .99 cent addition, and the cheddar cheese which I actually ordered but didn’t get was $1.79! I paid $1.79 for an American slice of cheese to be slapped onto a singular scrambled egg. Now for what was ok: the fettuccine Alfredo was nice, and the biscuits and gravy were too.

Very good diner! One of the most solid diners I’ve been to around the area. Nothing to complain about. Service was great and the place has a very cool vibe. The pancakes were good and maybe slightly too chewy, but that’s only because we like softer pancakes! The turkey bacon and peppers in the omelet was very good. Hash browns were industry standard. Nothing that I didn’t like. The bacon and cheese sandwich really stood out and they didn’t skimp on the meat. I’d go back here for sure!

Been coming for years now figured I'd give them their flowers. The food is always immaculate and they have good drinks. My fav is the lamb chops. There is no comparison- just amazing. The veggies are good, salad, chicken gumbo, Salmon, Alfredo, fruit plates, desserts. You won't be disappointed. Staff is sweet. They close early so get up!!! They open early too😇

My experience at Main Street as always been great! I recommend the lamb chop breakfast.

My favorite coney in the city (for an extended coney menu). The food quality is fantastic and the service has never been bad. They take a lot of care to make most things from scratch and I really appreciate that about them.

I've been visiting for years on my last visit I ordered a combination plate. The kabob was really good. The only bad thing about Maine Street is that they stopped selling spinach pie but they make up for it with good food and authentic dishes such as potato leek soup. I've never had a bad meal at Maine Street .

I've been going to Maine Street for 21 years. The food is delicious at affordable prices. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I love the owner, Mario. He always makes you feel like family. 10 out of 10 food and service.

Loved this place Friday! We went around 2pm. The food was great! Everything was hot and came out fast. The staff was polite and seemed happy. They were very accommodating. I felt like they cared! I definitely will be back!

My Greek chicken salad was really good I'm at a training we got it via DoorDash. It came fast and it was fresh with quality ingredients. Since I started working in this area I've heard about Maine Street and it meets all of the expectations. Service was quick and good.

I was asked by my co-worker to grab breakfast and suggested Maine Street. I had never been and say why not, I'll try it. So we placed our order over the phone and I wish I knew who answered the phone because they were extremely patient and kind. We had a pretty large order but she continued to make sure we had it right. When I picked up the order, it was ready and waiting for me when I arrived. They were very helpful and had my laughing. Now the food.... I got the veggie skillet with Turkey bacon and it was delicious! I was surprised lol. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Not everyone have good Turkey bacon but theirs was great! It was so good. I personally will be going back!

A friend told me about this little because I have been on my good liver and onions tour and they did not disappoint service was great and a very nice gentleman paid for my cheesecake

This place has everything. We tried their gyro, grilled pork chops and steak and they were all delicious. Service is great too. Must visit when you're in Detroit.

I have frequented this spot since about 2006, it definitely used to be one of my favorite spots. As I've been going. It's still fairly good here however as the old staff is getting older and the new staff is getting younger I'm noticing the shift in the experience here. They did recently do renovations to the inside and I'm definitely love they've lightened it up with the lighter colors.

I ordered from Maine Street Restaurant almost three times a week for over a year. Whit no issues For the most part. In the Detroit area, most people have a 313 area code! And I do not. My area code is from the other side of the state. I know most of the delivery divers and only had a problem this day 4/21/203. I ordered a mushroom and Swiss cheeseburger with onion rings. I'm a male. The driver claims he pull up and gave the order to a girl. I called them 5 times in a three-hour time period. And I just got the run-around. They did not resend my food or refund me and told me I was lying. So I drove to the restaurant and used the same card, I placed the other with and re other the same food so it would show up on my credit card statement. I will never perpay for to get delivered again! Because the manager was being arrogant and talking to me condescending! He did now handle the problem and told me I was a liar.

I have been coming here for about 5 years now and love this place! I came here for lunch today and am very pleased with all the precautions they are taking due to covid. A face mask is required for entry and once at your table you may remove it. I was happy to see a few customers refused entry unless they had a mask. They are doing a great job enforcing social distancing by allowing people in every other booth :) They also have plexiglass at the counter. If you prefer outdoor seating they do have a small patio.

Got there a little after 3 PM and they close at 4 which is strange but acceptable. Was with my family and the service was fantastic. food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Always clean and inviting

Wooooooooow. This how y'all doing it? I will never order anything from this establishment again, they can't even make toast correctly. Oh & I know BECAUSE THATS ALL I ORDERED!!!!! I have colleagues that order from Maine Street often but after this I'm changing restaurants. How do you get dry overdone non-buttered Texas Toast when you ordered extra butter on said toast. I prefer to have good service & let 10 people know about the good experience I received if any, but in this case I need to tell thousands about my horrible experience with Maine Street. Don't waste you money!!!!! Your better off driving down 9mile & throwing your money out the window. Toast I mean really, toast.

The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable & the staff is friendly. Grilled Chicken Greek salad omg. Tp die for. I don't care what city you live in. I always meet my partner here for lunch. We get a carry out and park in a romantic place and eat up and enjoy! One of my absolute favorite things...social distance, everyone wore mask, and the service was good. Most importantly the place was super clean!!!!! The only drawback is they close at 4PM....

This is one of Hamtramck best spot for great food and good service I have never been disappointed ever since they opened. Great work Maine Street Restaurant.

Come on Maine Street, we love you guys, but you kinda messed up today. We ordered pork chops with fries, we got a baked potato...we ordered fish, and we didn't want the fries...we got the fries anyway, stuck all over the fish... We also asked to poke a couple holes in the container, so it wouldn't get so soggy, no holes....we asked for extra tarter sauce, we got one, no extra.

When I was a intern in Hamtramck this was a place we would go to lunch at least 1x a week. The staff is very attentive. The food was always fresh, quick and hot. Still to this day I frequent this place! Definitely recommend!

I've never had anything bad here this is by far one of my favorite places to get lunch for work ( I work at McClures pickles around the block ) great soups always super busy but still very good friendly service

Really Great Selection of World Foods. Who wants to know where you get the Cevapi. First let me tell you I first discovered this great Bosnian food was in the early 80's on Michigan ave in Detroit a place called Dimes restaurant which has been goon a long time. Twice per week for lunch or dinner I ate a plate full with heavy onions thin fresh baked bread and mustard. I really didn't know until 20 years later what it was, I just loved it. A couple years ago I recalled this great dish and went searching the Internet, jackpot I found this great restaurant. Maine Street is a family owned business since 1999, operated by brothers Nick and Mario Lulgjuraj. Been serving great food to great customers for a long time. Offering Bosnian, Greek, Italian, and American food from scratch, and serve breakfast all day! We started with the fabulous Gumbo Soup and the Big Man Omelette filled with Ham Sausage Bacon n Corned Beef OMG outstanding. She had a whole Slab o Ribs falling off the bone Wonderful. Me sole purpose my absolutely favorite dish Chevapi the best around Detroit for over 2 decades. So tender juicy always get a 10 pc order plenty for sharing. Save room for desserts many options, got booze and a beautiful patio for dining in Downtown Ham Town. I have been coming here for years. This is the second time coming here since the pandemic started. I was very pleased with the precautions they were taking for their customers. A face mask is required to enter. There were two women who were trying to come in without a face mask and were turned away and told they need a mask. They both went and got a mask. They have the plexiglass at the counter as well. They are enforcing social distancing by only allowing people to sit at every other table. They also have a cute patio if you prefer outdoor seating. I will definitely be back!

Food and service are good. We order take out often And they are very precise. Everything I've tried is delicious.

I normally get takeout from Maine Street and the food is a 3-4 star but there packaging ruins it. They put the food into cheap styrofoam to go containers when it's way to hot. The whole meal has that melted styrofoam taste. If there packaging was better and not poisoning me I would change my review.

I used to love this restaurant because their food was good, until one day a friend and I (we are black)went there for lunch and we were waiting to be served for at least 20 minutes. Then a group of white men came in and the were served immediately we sat and waited and finally the waitress waited on us, the food was not fresh at all. I wonder why? Will not patronize this place anymore.

Wow!! I'm impressed I would have never guessed I would be so pleased with this little restaurant. The service is amazing. The food is amazing. The portion size is great. Best of all the price was overly reasonable. It's a must stop if your cruising through Detroit.

Great food, great staff, reasonable prices. Owners are always there during business hours and attentive to their guests. Restaurant is always clean and they take care to remodel the restaurant every so often to keep it that way. Would highly recommend a stop.

8/11/20 Work 5 minutes from Hamtramck so if I go to lunch Hamtramck is usually the spot, I decided to try something new today as I generally have 2 polish restaurants I tend to go to,I walked in to do a carry out and noticed that the restaurant is very well kept and appeared to be very clean big plus in my book, here is the negative I was greeted by a young man 18-20 and he wasn't so polite I asked to see a menu which he provided, I asked him if they had any specials today and he pointed to a special board and said if there's nothing written on there we don't have any, then I asked him how the coney dogs were and he responded he didn't know because when he goes out to eat he likes to eat something better than a hot dog and he can make a hot dog at home RUDE! I decided on the Chevapi it was good and the portion was huge I had mine with rice and soup and the chicken noodle was very good, I would go back as the food was good but they really need to work on how people are greeted when coming through the door, or make that kid a toilet cleaner.

Friendly service, fair prices, and generous portions. I came here recently and had the "Big Man Omelette" jam-packed with bacon, sausage, ham, corned beef, and cheese. It included hash browns and toast--a great value for less than $9. Maine Street is a great family restaurant with mostly booth seating. It's surprisingly clean too--the men's room was the cleanest I've ever seen in a casual restaurant.

After lunching here no less than 20 times, I just noticed for the first time that the spelling of this restaurant's name is like the New England state "MAINE" rather than the street sign "MAIN ST". Nevertheless, this place never disappoints for excellent Greek salads and outstanding service. Owned and managed by some genuinely friendly Albanians, this popular diner is neatly tucked into the city-within-a-city (Hamtramck, Michigan - completely landlocked by the city of Detroit). Known locally as "Ham-town", this historically Polish enclave once attracted Pope John Paul II to its streets back in 1987. The Hamtramck community is continuing to change with a large influx of folks from Yemen and other Middle Eastern nations over the last 20 years. It is now Michigan's most diverse city with 41% of its population being foreign-born and that mix is reflected in both the patrons at this busy restaurant as well as it's waitstaff. Maine Street remains one of my go-to's for an outstanding Baby Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken Strips and a cop of their homemade Chicken Noodle.

Amazing corned beef sandwiches, which is what I come here for whenever I'm in the vicinity. Parking can be a challenge at lunchtime, but worth it.

Nice place to drink a Corona with your mom. Foods pretty basic. Sometimes they serve a very drab lemon rice soup.

This place right here is the official restaurant in Hamtramck and Chef Mario serving quick and delicious meal over the last couple of decades. It's so good I Used to eat there 2-3 times a week back then but recently I went back and found out they serving halal chicken too that's always a plus. I tried mostly everything on the menu that don't contain pork and there's too many favorite to list. Price are really reasonable and service is always excellent... I'll be stopping here more often and Mario get more halal meat my brother...

UPDATED ON June 29, 2017 NOPE! Not ever again. The last two times we went, the Greek Salad was 99% iceberg lettuce and, in a whole bowl, there were 8 leaves of mixed greens. That is it. The Chicken Parm was absolutely nasty. The sauce was sour yet you could taste the vast amount of sugar. Yuck.

My girlfriend and I had dinner at Maine Street - we ordered gumbo, bread, mac n' cheese, fried catfish, and the fried cheesecake w/ strawberries for dessert. The food was reasonably priced, served reasonably-quickly (esp. since it was 8:00pm), and was pretty good overall. The gumbo and cheesecake were great, and the catfish and mac n' cheese were a bit bland. I would recommend it - they have a diverse menu with lots of items, and the seating is nice enough for a dine-in meal.

I love this restaurant the food is great and yummy and the rest of the staff is awesome. The owners work their butt off. But the best thing is it is close to my house.

So torn on this one. While I agree with a lot of what Melody says about Main Street, I also can see where Michael's coming from too. So, I guess I'll weenie out and split the difference with a 3-star review. Yes, they have reasonably priced breakfasts that are usually prepared well. However, today was an exception. I ordered a feta cheese and mushroom omelette with crispy hash browns and rye toast. When the order finally arrived, I was greeted with a fine-looking omelette, non-crispy hash off-whites and rye slightly-warmed bread with do-it-yourself butter fixin's. I was in a bit of a rush, so sending it back was not an option at the time. The staff is generally friendly but, the service tends to drag whenever they have a normal crowd. The food can be dodgy, my wife once ordered a baklava and was given one that was not cooked; you can tell by the phyllo dough lacks that flaky quality -- more like wet paper. They are like the student who is content with getting a C in class.

We order delivery at work from these guys. Very friendly staff. Food is always delicious, great prices and everything is still hot due to fast delivery. Recommend the chicken gumbo and chicken noodle and just about any sandwich or salad. Also today we ordered the Spinach and feta egg white omellete for delivery and it was raved about!

Good food the portions are plentiful. And they have alcohol so that's a plus. Service was good and you can tell it's busy every night for dinner the tables are full do they are doing something right. I like the Mario pita and the fries are bomb as well.

This is one of those places that makes everything pretty well. Maine Street is a local staple in Hamtramck, and everyone knows you can go there for a good meal, good service, and a pleasant environment. I've never been served anything bad here. I haven't been served anything particularly mind-blowing, either. That's fine! Keep doin' what you do, Maine Street! Two things that stick out to me are their fried chicken (good value, very crispy and juicy) and ribs (grilled, sweet sauce, super tender)! Their burgers, however, are pretty meh, and if you know me, that's a big thing. I still think you should go here for lunch or dinner on a relaxed day in Hamtramck, or an early breakfast when you get sick of Hamtramck Coney Island. You're going to get something good.

I bought Spinach chicken salad the chicken tastes good but while I was eating there was dirt on the spinach.

Best breakfast in town ! Lamb chops and Greek salad are delish! Chicken fingers are awesome! They make you feel like family- love the staff!

They have the best skillet ever! But one thing I'm kinda sad is they don't deliver to the school I work at. Someone before me probably had bad manners or something. But heyyyyy it's all good. Great food tho.

Been coming here as a kid I'm in my 20s now and the food here is still really good. I usually get their bbq combo with extra sauce really good. Their breakfast is preety awesome as well

Had been visiting the restaurant for years. When my birthday came around I went there and ordered the NY Strip. It was thin, like the sole on my shoe and cold. When I informed the owner, he waved me off like I did not mean anything to him. Not a pleasant place anymore.

Great service from Savanna and great food haven't ate here in awhile. I will be back .

Service is excellent. Friendly, professional, prompt. The menu is a mix of American and Mediterranean. They have a modest assortment of beer and wine, plus a full bar. Try the cevapi. It's a local favorite. My favorite thing about this diner is that it's consistent. The only con is that it is closed on Sunday.

Food is pretty good, service is good. Fish and chips and Salisbury steak are items I typically get. Good atmosphere.

This place is the BEST coney island in Hamtramck. It's clean, has good food, reasonable prices, friendly staff and a full bar. It is usually pretty busy there all day but the staff and kitchen have no problem keeping up. The menu is very standard coney island fare. I particularly like their Meat Lovers Skillet (you think you are tough then order that bad boy) and the Nicks Wrap (which I substitute into a pita.) I have had their saganaki, steak, omelettes, reuben, etc... everything was great. The only bummer about Maine Street is that they are closed on Sunday! :P

Enjoyed gyro meat with eggs. Great flavor and in meat and sauce. Good service and clean.
