"The restaurant, which is established in a historic circa 1929 edifice, is a sister establishment of Chào Bạn. The dining room, spread over two floors and a balcony, features a vibrant colour scheme. The menu is 80% identical to that of Chào Bạn, emphasising a modern approach to Vietnamese cooking. One of the highlights is their array of spring rolls, served hot or cold. Minced beef in lolot leaves boasts a unique aroma and juicy, tender meat." - Michelin Inspector

I wasn’t able to take pictures of everything we ate, but I would say that this place has the best spring rolls I have had in Vietnam so far. I would go back just for the spring rolls. The service was really good as well, and the serving time was reasonable. The place is very quiet so it would be great for dates.

We order a few dishes for our family 6,we love most of the dishes, especially the roast pork ribs, soft & tender full of flavours. The grilled prawns is very fresh. The prices are reasonable. Will come back if I’m back in Hanoi .

Our first trip back to Hanoi since 2016 on our way to a virtuoso cruise on Halong bay and then the Four Seasons Nam Hai, we were so excited to still love Hanoi, despite it being a lot busier with a lot more backpacker types. We chose to rent a house nearby this restaurant for our four day break between the Ritz Carlton Langkawi, and heading to our cruise on Hallong Bay (which is how we came to Hanoi almost 10 years ago). We have sat upstairs on the balcony, downstairs on the street, every night. The wine selection in Hanoi is of course not phenomenal, but they have a drinkable one for Vietnam, so we have ended our nights here before going back to our house and sitting on our balcony, as we work on NYC hours (and eat after midnight worldwide, so have not eaten here), even though we primarily live in our London house. Tonight was our final night in hanoi before we leave for our cruise early in the morning, so as we wanted to visit for our final time, we were excited to see the balcony was basically empty, there was only one table taken of the three, so as they were only open for another hour or so, Everyone eating dinner fairly early here in Vietnam like most places worldwide, we asked if we could sit upstairs on the balcony like we have done before, just for a couple glasses of wine. They told us that the manager said that we could not sit on the balcony, only for dinner. We stated well, you are closing fairly soon, two of the three tables are open, we will be here for less than an hour, and we are happy to move should anyone arrive for dinner and you have a need for the tables. Unfortunately, they did not allow it. We walked by about an hour later, on our way back to our house, and surprise surprise, they were closed. No one ever sat there. A shame that after visiting multiple days in a row, four of them in fact, ordering over four glasses of wine every night, and in a consistently basically empty place, that they preferred to have empty tables in the hope of someone off the street finding this place within an hour of close (which they never did), to serving glasses of wine to repeat customers that already said they would be happy to move if by some miracle stragglers came in off the street for dinner (never did).

Food is not the best.... We visited this place when we ordered, banana stem salad (possibly the only thing which we liked), fresh spring rolls-pork and shrimp, grilled large prawns (quite expensive for vietnam at 450k) and a mushroom dish. Food was very bland, and the prawns were served with a salt and pepper dip, which was too salty. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience. The staff were very friendly and nice.

The lunch set? Flavorful, beautiful and satisfying! The calm ambiance and relaxed interiors - I highly recommend. The super tender and flavorful pork with the jasmine rice - need not say anything (chef’s kiss). Would I come back? In a heartbeat.

Nestled in the heart of Hanoi’s vibrant Old Quarter, this Vietnamese restaurant is a true culinary gem that offers an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a charming ambiance that captures the essence of traditional Vietnamese culture. The appetizers are a standout feature. The spring rolls are nothing short of perfection—crispy, flavorful, and accompanied by a dipping sauce that elevates every bite. The salads are equally delightful, fresh, and bursting with well-balanced flavors that set the tone for the meal. For the main courses, the pork ribs and pork belly are the stars of the menu. The pork ribs are tender, perfectly seasoned, and practically fall off the bone, while the pork belly is rich, succulent, and cooked to perfection. However, the duck dish was a bit underwhelming—it lacked the intense flavors one might expect and fell short compared to the other dishes. The service is another highlight of the experience. The staff are exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always ready with helpful suggestions to make your meal even more enjoyable.

This place was the best food we had in Hanoi (and all of Vietnam so far!) The flavours were incredible and everything was so fresh. We had the banana flower salad, fresh pork and shrimp spring rolls with the best peanut sauce ever, and a bun bowl with beef and Hanoi spring rolls. A little more expensive than other places in Vietnam but totally worth it and still a great price when considering the usual price of food back home! Cost about $25aud each including a drink. The waiter also offered us to try some Vietnamese wine for free, and was very professional and spoke great English. Highly recommend 😊

Food was the best part. Ordered Thit Kho originally but was unavailable. Was communicated to us only 15-20 minutes after ordering. Water was not poured for us which was a bit weird. Service team was sleepy and was moving really slowly.
