We came here for brunch on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating. Lots of good options on the menu for both food and drinks/mocktails. We ordered lots of things including the steak eggs Benedict, creme brulee french toast, eggs royal, and Dakota steak. All of the dishes that had steak- the steak was over done. We asked for medium and medium rare and almost none of the steak had any pink in it at all. The meat was tough and not very juicy either. The creme brulee french toast had a good flavor but we wish it was a bit more toasted- it was basically just wet bread in sauce. Service was fast and very nice though!

More people need to visit this restaurant! Went for the happy hour deal; the maison burger with fries and a beer or wine for $21. It was delicious! We also tried the fried chicken deviled eggs (amazing) and 2 cocktails. I highly recommend the "all work and no play" cocktail and the old fashion. Both drinks were made perfectly and we were really impressed. Overall, you should definitely visit here! Happy Hour is every day from 4 to 7 pm (yes, even on weekends).

Mason Cheryl never misses. The Sibling Revelry cocktail is a standout, perfectly balanced and so easy to sip. And the truffle fries are absolutely delicious, rich, and addicting. A must-order every single time. If you go, have Ben make your cocktail. Truly, any drink you choose he will elevate. His recommendations never disappoint and he brings such great energy to the bar. Highly recommend for amazing drinks, great service, and a fun vibe.

The restaurant was a great brunch spot! The interior & menu was modern chic. I personally ordered the Crème Brûlée French Toast and it was amazing~ (we even got a Lava Cake as our dessert) And thank you to our server for creating a great atmosphere and making a memorable, short celebration for me! 🤩

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ I recently visited Maison Cheryl for brunch and really enjoyed the food especially the Dutch pancakes, which were absolutely delicious! There was a small hiccup when my waiter wasn’t quite sure how to process the credit card machine. I ended up receiving a call later letting me know my check hadn’t actually gone through. By that time, I was already out of the area. The owner, however, handled the situation with such grace and kindness he told me brunch was on him. That kind of customer service is rare these days, and I truly appreciated it. Between the great food and the genuine hospitality, I will definitely be returning.

This is a small french-style bistro in the heart of Clarendon. It had great food and a laid-back atmosphere. I had a great burger and my wife had salmon. All the entrees and appetizers look great. The drink list was comprehensive, and a large number of people were at the bar. We've been several times.

We were excited to eat here- very close to where we were staying and could walk. And the food has good reviews. When we got there only one group of four were dining. So we sat at the bar thinking we would get great service but that wasn't the case . Attentiveness to customers is sub par-Had to ask on two occasions for water refill. Then the group of four left and a woman came out spraying cleaner and mopping all around us. The smell of chemicals was awful. The food was very good except no bread was offered. That was odd. Another annoyance was the wireless phone sitting on the bar that rang out twice during our dinner. Hopefully the managers read these reviews and make some changes.

Five stars isn’t enough for Maison Cheryl. My husband and I have dined at countless Michelin-starred restaurants, and this experience topped them all. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We ordered the duck and the burger, and both were mind-blowing. The duck was cooked to absolute perfection tender, flavorful, with a jus that was simply unforgettable. The risotto? Creamy, rich, and dreamy. Even the fries were next-level. The cocktails were balanced and creative, and every single bite felt thoughtful and elevated. Maison Cheryl isn’t just a meal, it’s an experience. This place deserves all the stars. WOW. I paid 150$ (not including tip) for a steak, a seafood dish, appetizer, one cocktail and soft drink all for it to be served to me on a metal tray by someone wearing jeans and Nike's. This place is way too casual and food quality is roughly the same as Clyde's while charging Michelin prices.

Wonderful brunch at Maison Cheryl! Everyone in our group was very happy with their choices. I had the french toast which was light and fluffy with a delicious creme brulee. We will definitely be back!

We ordered three appetizers: arugula salad, shrimp tempura and cauliflower. Entrees: duck, salmon and bouillabaisse. The food was delicious. Ingredients fresh and prepared with perfect seasoning and presented with style. The kitchen did a superb job! The service was not good. The restaurant was half full when we arrived without a reservation. We were told by a very snotty blonde hostess : " I will give you a table, but you have to leave in a hour." We were seated at a table way in a back where no one could see us. Literally isolated from the rest of the diners. Don't know why. Few minutes later a personable server asked to take our order, so we mentioned that since we were told we had only an hour to eat we'd better order our drinks and food as quickly as possible. Our three appetizers and drinks were delivered quickly by another server, who told us she would take over our table without any explanation as to why the switch. Furthermore, she was not aware that we hadn't given our main entree orders, and that we were given only an hour to eat our meal. Luckily, all our food came quickly and we enjoyed the food. Our dining experience was marred by the blonde hostess' unfriendly attitude and her questionable demand that we had only an hour to dine there even though the restaurant had several empty tables when we left at 7. We left to get dessert elsewhere where we were treated much better even though the restaurant was full. Ambiance: casual- not at all fancy. Attitude of hostess and service staff : not very friendly or professional. Conclusion: Kitchen staff: superb exemplified by the exceptional quality of each of the 6 dishes we ordered. Dining room staff: not good rendering our overall experience sub-par. We agree with other reviewers on the service here. Mgmt should pay attention and replace the hostess and retrain or replace servers. Tho the food was good, I don't think I would return, because who wants bad attitude and service to spoil an evening?

Disappointing on food, service, price point and ambiance. Wouldn't recommend and we won't be back. The waiter told the table next to us that they were a French bistro with American food... not sure how that works. Minimal French influence on the menu and didn't see any French influence in execution. Service was lazy despite being one of only 2 tables when arriving and one of 5 when leaving. The food itself is really under seasoned. The "spicy" crab and avocado was a particularly poor flop with no spice or salt at $23. The waiter (tall tight haircut) didn't clear our starters before our main came out and just stood there until we lifted the plates, popped the mains down, snatched the starter plates away and slunk off. He was more interested in sitting at the bar and doing some sort of paper work. No water refill- slow to bring a menu back so we could order a second drink. I left half my main course- wasn't asked if I liked it or if I would like a box etc. just bad service from apathetic people. No flow to the meal at all.The total price was eye watering for what we experienced. There are way better options in the area.

Great service, chic interior, and spectacular food. Came her for a brunch with a larger group and between the excellent cocktails, great wine selection, and tasty brunch offerings, this is a real winner! The espresso martini was delightful with quite a smooth finish. I was really grateful for the server as they addressed my mother's gluten allergy with great care, and my mother really enjoyed the french eggs! The breakfast carbonara was outstanding. It caught my eye and I couldn't move off of the allure of bacon, cream sauce, cheese, poached egg and pasta - YUM! It was peppery, cheesy, and very rich and both my sister and I practically licked the plate. We also had some of the desserts, and the fresh fruit with the madellines were tasty in addition to the fresh creme. Quite a delicious outing and I'd love to come back for a dinner some time!

This has been on my list of places to try; I was happy to see them open the night we went, bc a couple other times I've tried during listed hours, the place was not open. Positives were trying items not commonly found, such as frog legs and stuffed squash blossoms, friendly service in a pretty black-and-white bistro setting. Negatives were that the food and flavors were just ok in relation to the price point. The table was too small for the dishes we ordered. Overall, 3.5 is a decent rating; checked off the list, but not saved as a favorite.

Came here for a dinner and the food was delicious. Most of the dishes here are on the pricier end but the portion of food served was rather proportional to the price. I had ordered foie gras as an appetizer and was happily surprised by the amount of foie gras served. It was really flavorful served with some bread, frisee, and fruit compotes and jams to cut through the fattiness. For my entree, I ordered duck. It was tender and really delicious and is cooked on the rarer side so I'd recommend telling wait staff your preferred doneness if you're not a huge fan of meat cooked medium rare. The crispy zucchini added some textural contrast and the bread pudding was savory and filling. The blackberry demi-glace was really savory and pretty good but I think I would've preferred a more fruity sauce to cut through all the heavy elements in the dish. For dessert, I got a raspberry cheesecake which had the perfect balance between tart and sweet. Service was pretty good. The wait staff often stopped by to check up on us. The restaurant was bit dimly lit at night making for a good vibe for a romantic date.

I am sad to say that I was too disappointed in the service and general food of this place. This should not be considered a fine dining establishment - especially due to the poor servi. First off, the food is more French-inspired American cuisine, but there is very little hints of French cuisine on the menu. In terms of food and drink, we ordered the autumn fizz, honeynut soup, maison wagyu burger, and shrimp and scallop orriechette. The burger was far too salty, with no sweetness to balance out the flavors. I did however enjoy the char on the bun. The pasta was alright, no standout flavors. The soup was probably the one redeeming dish. In addition, we arrived at 1pm on a weekday, so there were not that many patrons in the restaurant. However, the waiter was not very friendly or attentive throughout service.

I had always walked by this restaurant while in Clarendon but never had a chance to drop by and I'm so glad I got a chance to try it out for brunch! Came at noon on a Saturday and it wasn't packed at all so we were able to grab a seat easily without reservations and the staff were kind welcoming us. The interior is cute and nice, which makes me surprised this place wasn't busy! My friend and I got shared a bottle of sparkling wine with orange juice for $20 and it did it's job perfectly. I had the truffle wagyu burger and it was so delicious alongside their crispy fries - the burger itself wasn't too salty or anything and the meat was soft in the middle and had a nice crisp on the outer parts. We also split the creme brulee french toast which was also so good - the creme sauce was a nice "dipping" sauce for the toast, which did have the brulee part on it underneath the strawberries and sugar and wasn't too sweet too which I loved. I would say everything was decently priced and I loved the food, service was attentive, and the ambiance was really nice. I would definitely recommend for brunch and have to try for their lunch/dinner menus next time, this place seems so underrated!

Broken glass on ground in doorway. When I told the staff they were extremely rude and disrespectful, then lied about having a manager. Food was mediocre, drinks were unimpressive. Millions of better places to go.

Wonderful food, delicious drinks and arguable the best French food place in the Arlington area! The staff are so friendly and the ambiance is very French chic.

This was a lovely local spot that I'm happy to have tried! It was initially off-putting when I first arrived around 6:30 because the place was virtually empty. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, and our waitress was delightful and very knowledgeable on the menu. The salmon was delicious; sweet and light! The duck was also nice, erring on the savory and rich side. My personal favorite was dessert. The mini madelines are adorable and the perfect little sweet treat to end a lovely meal.

Great food and great service. Went for brunch and really enjoyed the foie gras and bacon eggs benedict and brunch carbonara. I was surprised by how big the pieces of foie gras were and the carbonara was cooked perfectly al dente. Our server was attentive and stopped by our table every now and then to check on us.

After a year, Maison Cheryl is still one of my favorite local spots in Clarendon. It's nice to have a French-inspired bistro in Arlington that serves up a great menu and drink selection. My favorites are the shrimp and bay scallop pasta and deviled eggs. If you order the duck entree, I suggested adding some broccolini on the side - perfect meal! A must visit!

We came for Arlington Restaurant Week and overall it was a delicious dinner. It was $52 for 3 courses which we felt was a bit on the high-end. However it was a great experience and food was flavorful. The service was good too.

Great dining experience in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere with great service and exceptional food. Our group shared all the dishes and it was hard to choose which one was best. Starting with appetizers we loved the salmon caviar/crab/avocado dish, the shrimp tempura, vichyssoie, and foie gras - all were delectable. As to main courses the standouts were the seared duck which was perfectly cooked with rice pilaf, leeks & mushrooms; the Cajun chicken was moist with a delicately balance Cajun sauce with andouille sausage and shrimp; and the Chilean sea bass with a truly spicy red curry sauce with coconut rice for those that love some heat on their dish. Deserts were great including chocolate lovers triple chocolate tarte , croissant donut, and a Cointreau dulce de leche Having read some of the older reviews I think it is important to note the young chef Bobby Maher fired and rehired his kitchen & front of house staff months ago due to some of the poorer reviews and has definitely addressed those old issues. So to all those who came previously, please give the restaurant a new visit and see for yourself how well he has addressed those old issues. You may enjoy the results as I have!

Disappointed by food and service last night. Menu described venison with MOREL MUSHROOMS, a seasonal delicacy - and usually pricey. It also came with asparagus and gnocchi. The mushrooms were NOT morels - and waitress knew it but did not disclose when I ordered. When brought to her attention she said they were brown button mushrooms or something to that effect. She could not understand why I would complain. I accepted the dish which I should not have. Venison okay - asparagus was SHAVINGS of less than one asparagus stalk. I counted 4 miniscule gnocchi. RIP OFF and MISrEpreSEntation. BEWARE: DO NOT EXPECT TO GET WHAT YOU ORDER AT THIS RESTAURANT! Ambiance okay - uncrowded.

A group of my friends and I decided to get some French cuisine. The service was really great as they accommodated to my friends dietary allergic restrictions. We tried a bit of everything and it all was good. Definitely recommend this if you like French cuisine :)

I have never had their food here, so this review is solely on their cocktails/drinks/service/ambiance. I love sitting at the bar for a quick drink. the bartenders are always accommodating and make good cocktails. Perfect environment for catching up with friends or a date night as the volume level has never been too loud the times that I have been there (weekends between 4-8pm).

Food was great, service was impeccable, and the ambiance was much cooler than I expected. I saw the menu online and expected a hipster version of La Madeleine. Oh contraire. I got the Wagyu burger with truffle fries. I also ordered a non-alcoholic beverage with mint, lemon, and some ginger. Forgot the name but the flavor bursted in my mouth. Soo good. The server made the recommendation of the burger. I told him I had flown in from Albany, NY and hadn't eaten since breakfast at 7am. It was a toss up betwen the Wagyu Burger and the Honey Truffle Chicken. I guess you can't go wrong with either but my appetite dictated the order. Hats off to our waiter. I was not a fan of sitting a super small table and would have preferred a more comfortable setting. It's a small and snug dinning room so be prepared to keep your elbows in. Dinner - not the best place to go with small children due to the ambiance. More of a romantic setting so parents with screaming kids - you will be embarrassed as the entire restaurant will be looking at you.

We really enjoyed our brunch here! We had great service- everyone who worked there was very friendly and attentive- and the food was solid. We started off with cocktails that were both solid (one had gin and orange blossom and one was a rosé aperol spritz)- I think the $20 deal for a bottle of sparkling wine + juice would be really fun for a group too. For entrées, we had the spicy fried chicken sandwich and the eggs royale. The chicken sandwich wasn't very spicy, but it was a good sized portion and the chicken was tasty and good quality. The fries were delicious, too! The eggs royale were kind of a twist on a benedict that was fun, I don't think I've seen one with lox and avocado before. Solid brunch option in Clarendon that I'd definitely come back to.

I came here with my colleagues on a Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised. Upon entering the restaurant, everyone from the bartender to the hostess was so welcoming and attentive and were shown to the last outdoor table available immediately. I had arrived earlier than my colleagues who were running slightly late but the waiter came over a couple times to make sure I had what I needed. We ordered Brussel Sprout for our appetizer, which was so delicious and my main entree, the fried burata and pasta (they rotate the type of pasta based on what I see from past photos), and it was SO delicious! I had just returned from my trip from France and Italy and was craving pasta and this did not disappoint. They have a great selection of wine, though I ordered a rosé aperol spritz which was not too sweet or bitter. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

5 star food and cocktails, 1 star service, so I split the difference. Additionally, the ambiance was nice, but pricing (as reflected in some of the 1-star reviews on here) was manipulative, i.e. the same cocktails listed in different places on the menu at wildly different prices. This was almost enough to take it down to 1 to 2 stars, except that the food was so so, so so, so so so good. Rocky start when we came in. We had made a reservation but arrived to a nearly empty restaurant except for one large seated group with children. There were only two people working in the front of house, a bartender and a hostess who was also acting as server. The bartender never acknowledged or interacted with us, and our hostess/server was incredibly nonchalant. The floor was oddly slippery, to a point where I felt like I had to walk carefully, and I said the floor was slippery out of surprise and she just kind of shrugged aobut it? This is the part that had me almost leave before we even ordered. We sat down and opened our menus and on one side was the brunch menu - which was a lot shorter than I thought it was going to be from what I had seen online - and on the other side was an extensive cocktail and wine menu, bursting with French-style cocktails. The cocktail menu was exciting to me. But then I noticed that a handful of cocktails were included at the bottom of the brunch menu as well. These were identical to some of the cocktails on the cocktail menu, but were all priced $2-$3 higher. I pointed this out to the server in confusion and her response was that they wanted brunch to be appealing and special so they made the prices lower. What? So then I pointed out that, no, actually, the brunch cocktails were priced *higher*. The $13 Aperol spritz on the cocktail menu, for instance, was $16 on the brunch menu. My friend's espresso cocktail was $14 on the cocktai menu and $17 on the brunch menu. Same drink. The server seemed completely oblivious to all this and so promised to charge us the lower prices. I mean. Do they think we're stupid? Then the cocktails actually arrived and suddenly we were happy we stayed. Best Aperol spritz I've ever had. Such a simple cocktail, you might think, can it really vary that much? Yes, it can. My friend kvelled about her espresso drink, as well. And they were beautifully presented. Then the food came. My friend got a simple and reasonably priced French scrambled egg plate that she was happy with but it's hard to marvel at it. I, however, got the bucatini carbonara sans bacon (pescetarian) and it may be the best pasta I've ever had. It wanted its bacon back, but even without the meat, this was really, really good. Unfortunately, while our server came to check on us once right after our food came out, she never returned. We watched the restaurant steadily fill up with other patrons, but nobody came to assist her, so she was literally handling the entire restaurant except for the bar. But, honestly, that wasn't the problem. The problem was that she was aloof and had no hustle. She walked by us several times without seeming to notice that our cocktail glasses had run empty. We might have each ordered another...20 minutes ago. It took a long time for her to clear our plates and bring us our bill, as well. When we did finally get the bill, we'd been charged the higher prices. So we had to flag her down and ask her to fix it. She did exactly as we wanted and lowered the prices, but her whole attitude about it was so...vacant. She wasn't rude or disagreeable or anything. More like an expressionless robot, or like she was focused on something else. It's really unfortunate because if the service matched the food this place would be unstoppable, and I suspect that service is the reason this place wasn't packed. A lot of other customers who seemed to be in the know came and sat at the bar and I think that was the right idea. To that end, it is worth noting that, despite how good the food is, the bar itself is the star of the show. It's a bar with good food, not a restaurant with a good bar. The extensiveness of the cocktail menu, the fact that the cocktails were the Frenchest thing about the menu, and the execution of the cocktails make this a destination for drinks, and an alternative to the speakeasy-style bars that dominate the higher end of DC's cocktail scene (not that I don't love them). My recommendation to future clientele is to forego the restaurant experience and just come for cocktails, though do order a dish or two there at the bar if you get hungry. My recommendation to the chef, assuming the chef is the owner/in charge, is to find better management for the front of the house.

This place is such a gem! The interior is so cute, I loved sitting at the bar for brunch. Additionally our food was so delicious, my carbonara was the perfect portion and so satisfying. It's a little pricey, but definitely worth it!

5 stars for food and 2 stars for service! The interior is odd with seating right in the middle of the restaurant. However there is a back room to the side which is cozier. Service was incredibly slow!!! We waited so long just for a server. Once you put your order in the food comes out fast though. Shrimp tempura was not great, and Kindof soggy. The curried fish was amazing I really loved this dish! Almost like a lighter panang curry sauce. The portion of fish they give you was pretty large, I just wish they gave you more rice with this dish. Also loved the wagyu truffle burger and truffle fries! Super crispy fries and the burger was cooked to perfection. It was HUGE! I only had a quarter. I hope this place steps up their service because the food is wonderful.

I knew there was something suspicious when I could get a Saturday dinner reservation for 7 people that afternoon. There's a reason why they aren't very busy. The food was mostly a miss. The Brussels + Bacon and Baked Brie were good, otherwise everything else was very... ok. You leave not feeling satisfied, only full. What a horrible feeling, to be full but not happy. The Prime Steak Frites was overcooked and the Maison Wagyu Burger was undercooked. All food was so dull and mild. The only entree that had much taste was the Chilean Seabass, however it was not worth the price. The Prime Steak Frites were also tagged as MP (market price) and was way overpriced and not at all worth it for how terrible it was cooked. For a French/American restaurant, they served a subpar Thai curry-flavored seabass. It was very confusing. The Bucatini + Fried Burrata was also very lame. I would've forgiven the tasteless food if the service was excellent, but our waitress wasn't accommodating at all. If anything, she was grumpy. We ordered apps to share (which we communicated that we were sharing) and we had to ask for small plates. We put on the reservation that we were here for a birthday and handed them a cake with a cake topper that said "happy birthday", and she still asked us if we wanted them to bring out the cake whole or sliced. I'm used to restaurants understanding that usually the cake comes out whole with candles/sparkler and "Happy Birthday" is sung. The cake was handed to us and we sang "Happy Birthday". It would've been nice if the staff also sang it too. For a $30 cake fee, I would've liked that little extra to make the birthday special. Once the cake was cut and served, again, we had to ask for utensils. The service we received was equivalent to a fast food restaurant... absolutely lacking. At least at fast food restaurants, I expect no service. The restaurant itself was small and very minimalistic. Bathrooms were clean. The restaurant did not accommodate us as a party of 7. We were so cramped and close to another table, it was difficult to get in/out to go to the bathroom. This restaurant is roughly $50/person, which in my opinion is not at all worth it. As a D.C. resident, it is often not worth the trek to Virginia to have a nice night out. Or for anything, really. Maison Cheryl is one of those expections to the rule. I had a lovely Friday night out in a charming and buzzing bar. I got quick and personal service from the manager, Jody and bartenders Natalie and Justin. The espresso martini is just what you'd expect from a craft cocktail that marries coffee with booze. I'll have to come back for my other favorite coffee booze combo: the Irish Coffee. But the entree could be enjoyed by Jose Andres himself. The Chilean sea bass was the best I've ever had. The flavor pallet of thai peanuts and green curry is masterfully paired with sweet resd bell pepper and cococut which accomanies a perfectly charred and tender filet of fish. Chef Bobby excells with this recipe and I'd recommend coming to Maison Cherly just to try it. The atmosphere and size is perfect to come alone, for a date, or with a group of friends. Parking is ample and only 20 minutes away from D.C. I will certainly be returning any time I feel like leaving D.C. in the future. Thanks for lovely night Jody and all the staff of Maison Cheryl!

My husband and I had a wonderful brunch here today... food was delicious and very finely prepared... service excellent and outdoor seating delightful. I had the French scrambled egg platter ... Eggs were very creamy topped with chives and not heavy on salt, finely diced potatoes were excellent and arugula salad was perfect with just a hint of salt and not heavy on the very tasty dressing. My husband loved his poached eggs, lox and avocado dish. This was a wonderful dining experience and we will definitely return to try the dinner entrees in the near future!

This is a solid place to sit and relax. They do not have a lot of fluff in terms of decor, but that is the charm. I feel like too much decor could take away from the focus on the food. For me, this reminds me of a quaint little bakery shop and it is peaceful. Nothing outlandish and nothing over the top. The food is similar in that they just focus on simple offerings and it is prepared simply. I dont think the food is something that stands out from the other places nearby, but if you want something simple and safe, this is the place to be. What I really appreciated from this place were the cocktail offerings. It is relatively rare to see some modern classic cocktails on a menu such as the penicillin or the paper plane. I was curious and intrigued. They dont have the full cocktail bar spectrum, but the fact that they have these offerings made me feel safer to order cocktails from them. I generally avoid cocktails from a place where all I see is an old fashion and a margarita. If you want something simple, I would stop by.

Maison Cheryl has a cozy almost dinner crossed with simple French restaurant vibe. It's cute and has a fun neon sign at the back saying i don't want any pain but Champagne in my life. The food was between a 3.5 and a 4. It was good but not "wow I'll be thinking about that for days later!" We had and shared the Baked Brie, Crispy Cauliflower, Devilled Eggs Three Ways, Honeynut Squash Soup, and the Truffle Wagyu Burger. We also had cocktails. I don't remember what my spouse had but mine was a Hot Toddy and that was by far the best Hot Toddy I've ever had. The service was quite good and we had no problems there. Would recommend.

Service was pleasant and attentive. Food items lacked flavor, sadly. I asked for the burger to be well-done which might have been better at medium but the hot honey chicken sandwich was absent the heat. The honey itself lacked much punch which was likely the culprit. May try again.

Very cute French spot for date night. Each table with a rose. Food was pretty good. More like a 3.5 out of 5. The ambiance pushes this up to a 4. The maison burger had a smoky grilled taste I think because they have a grilled cheese slice on top. The fries were really on point. Skinny and crispy. The wagyu truffle was good but nothing extraordinary. Salad the same way. Good.

Had the pleasure of visiting Madison Cheryl on Sunday. Review in a snapshot - the drinks and food very good!!! The service is a little bit slow regardless of it being a quiet Sunday evening. I am aware they are still very new and I'm positive that they'll figure it out. Perhaps hiring another server would help. The host was also our waiter and the bartender was making drinks and running the food from the kitchen. Once our food was served no one checked in on us to see if we needed anything or how we were liking our food. What we ordered! First drinks, I got the gin, cucumber, and mint drink and that tasted fantastic!! My fiancé got an old fashioned and he said it was great! For food I got the Chilean Sea Bass and the flavor was fabulous!! I would recommend ordering the Chilean Sea Bass. My fiancé ordered the Maison Burger and he loved it!! It has Brie cheese on it and he loves Brie cheese. Everything from the toppings to the French Fries were delicious. Definitely will come back and try some more drinks and entrees!!

The Bucatini with Fried Burrata was phenomenal. The food was very fresh and had generous portions. Maison Cheryl is a good change from the typical Clarendon restaurant scene. The prices are a bit higher, but it's worth it for the food, drinks, and ambiance. Reservations can be made in advance. We ordered the Bucatini with fried burrata, Truffle Roast Chicken Breast, and Fall Salad.

Though the food was great, the unexpected cockroach that paid us a visit during dinner was not. Having a cockroach scurry up the wall behind us, and then fall onto the bench (and one of our jackets) made the evening memorable, but for ALL of the wrong reasons. When we hailed our server to point out the unwanted dinner guest, his expression indicated this might not be an abnormal occurrence for the restaurant. The lack of concern or apology from any of the restaurant staff was disappointing, especially for a restaurant of that caliber. I don't think we will be returning, despite generally enjoying the food.

This place has such great potential. The location and aesthetic are both great. The food is good. But the service leaves a lot to be desired. We had a reservation for 2 on a Thursday. It wasn't too busy when we arrived around 8pm. We decided to sit at the bar but despite there being several employees behind there, we weren't greeted for a while. I eventually asked if we could order a bottle of wine. We got the Cotes Du Rhône. We figured we should play along with the French theme. "When in France". It was pretty good. We also got the cheese plate to pair with it which was delicious. After a while, nobody checked in on us so I asked if we could order entrees. We split the wagyu truffle burger and the bay scallop and shrimp orecciete. Both were good. The truffle aoli on the burger was a show stopper. Unfortunately we weren't given any silverware, so we walked to another table to get some for ourselves. If the service was good, this could have easily been 4/5 stars. But anytime we wanted to order something, we had to wait extended times and flag someone down, despite it not being too busy (there were only about 4 other people at the bar). We were not checked on once until the very end of our dinner when it was last call. Overall, I would probably try this place again. Like I said, the vibe is great and the food is good, maybe the staff just needs some additional training.

This place is tucked next to a popular Mexican restaurant in Clarendon and has a nice vibe inside. It's small, but not cramped. We were seated in the very back, which while nice, happened to be right by a piece of art on the wall lit up with the brightest lights in the whole restaurant. It felt like we had a spotlight on us. We ordered one cocktail, a coke, and two appetizers. The bill was more than my entire dinner bill for two at my last visit to Gyu Shige in the Mosaic District! We tried the truffle butter fries and the shrimp tempura. While both were nice, the fries were $11 and the shrimp were $19. The fries weren't worth $11 (are any fries worth that price?) and the shrimp weren't worth the equivalent price of a dinner at most places. I felt like this is one of those trendy new places where you pay more to say you ate in Clarendon. Our server was nice and made the overall experience better, however, I think the value isn't there for what you are getting.

Came on a Sunday evening for dinner. The dining experience was excellent (we had cocktails, an appetizer, entrees and dessert) and the service was attentive. It's a cute little spot I would highly recommend!

Lunch was dismal. I had an overcooked boring hamburger for $29. The cocktail I ordered was Ok; but nothing noteworthy. Overall, I found this place overpriced and mediocre.

Cute new date night spot in the middle of Clarendon. Drinks were great (highly recommend Paris in Spring), food was funky & well done! Very pleased with the portion sizes for both the snacks and mains. Defiantly get what you pay for. Although the restaurant was sleepy for Labor Day Sunday evening, this spot has great potential. Would highly recommend stopping by!

Here's a story: If The food had been spiced and properly seasoned, we would've given this five stars. It is unfortunate, because the ambience of the restaurant, the service, and the location were all great. However, my husband ordered a steak frites which was a beautiful cut of beef but completely unseasoned. Also, the green peppercorn sauce had no peppercorns! I ordered the Seabass in a curry sauce. Anybody knows Seabass knows it does not need a heavy sauce. So while the sauce was delicious, it completely overcame the fish. We'd love to give this place another shot. However, there are lots of really good restaurants in the area.

great atmosphere, fabulous drinks. HIGHLY recommend the french 75 (not pictured). great place for a smaller group as the restaurant is not that big. food was great. burrata was fantastic, the roasted chicken was great for every bite, the miso salmon was a bit on the salty side but still devine, the burger was perfectly cooked. wait staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating! would definitely go back!!

Food was cold, poorly seasoned, and came out haphazardly. Waitresses tried to bring us food and drink for other tables multiple times. My pesto bucatini was cold including the fried blob of cheese making it rather unappealing. I suspect the owner or someone talked to us at the end and she was nice, but there are a lot of problems here. They need better management and better kitchen quality control. The rest of my party was very disappointed with their food as well. Salad was sad and uninspired. No oomph in the dressing. It didn't taste of much. Not sure how someone could recommend this place. They allowed us to have separate checks, and that was very nice.

Have been ~12x since it opened. It started great and we loved it. The last two times have been abysmal. They've forgot food both times, drinks were terrible, service was lazy, music is off (50s diner music), floor has been slick like it was mopped with oil, etc etc. I want to love the restaurant so much and used to but it's just gotten so bad lately.

Maison Cheryl is the perfect addition to the restaurant scene in Clarendon. I had the bucatini with fried burrata which was incredible!

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.... First the good - nice menu, good food and wine choices, attentive service and most of the food was fresh and tasty. The bad - The sea bass dish one person ordered in my party was dropped on the floor and so the rest of us were served our dinner while they re-cooked the sea bass. 10-12 minutes later (while the rest of us were halfway if not more done) the fish arrived. Maison Cheryl did nothing to compensate us. The bass was still charged, desserts were not comped...nada. Not a good way to run your restaurant. The ugly - Person who ordered the sea bass had horrible food poisoning early the next morning. She thought the fish was undercooked.....

Negative star. Shitty service. Don't come here. Owner and chef was rude and the food server told us "it is what it is."

18 months after my first visit to Maison Cheryl, I went back for dinner on a Sunday night. The service was 100x better than it was in September 2021. We did not have to wait long to place our order, food came out timely, and our server constantly checked on us. We ordered the cauliflower and shrimp tempura as appetizers and they were both delicious. I had the salmon as my entree and it was a really good portion size - the poached egg fried in panko breadcrumbs was so unique. We had the chocolate tart for dessert which was just OK.
