NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"In Astoria, Maison De Manee is a crepe restaurant. But while they have the usual sweet French varieties, they also stuff things like massaman curry with chicken and potatoes into their crepes, and have a fried egg plate with Thai sausage and tomatoes." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

What a delightful spot! French and Thai brunch creations made with skill and love and delivered with friendly personalized service. We had a variety of crepes - savory and sweet, the chef special and croquet madam. Everything was delicious fresh creative and well balanced. Great drinks as well. We sat outside but it looked like there was room inside though it’s quite small overall. Authentic feel and we will be back!

This place is an adorable addition to the neighborhood! It is a really cozy spot and I greatly appreciated the staff being so welcoming and friendly. I had the Coconut Cloud Espresso which is probably the best tasting coffee I've had in a while; I'll definitely be coming back here for it. The crepe was also light in texture and not overly sweet, it was a good portion size to split between 2 people. I look forward to visiting again and trying the other unique drinks and dishes they have to offer.

Great brunch place with such a cute ambiance! Their matcha latte was outstanding. Service was fast and attentive. We tried the crepes, salad, and Tom Yum porridge—everything tasted so fresh and flavorful! Love it here.

The cutest Thai brunch place opened up down the street from me and I think people should come from all over to try it. Every time I walk by there are people eating and drinking and enjoying themselves. This place was started by a Thai folks who used to work in French cafes and they are bringing their own take on French style brunch. Since Thailand was never colonized, this sort of fusion is totally novel and absolutely delicious. For lunch, I love getting their chicken satay salad. It’s delicious, healthy and filling! If you’re looking for more comfort in Thai flavors and textures then I’d say get the Massaman curry crepe and the Tom Yum porridge. Opt for the Tom Kha bisque if you’re wanting a richer portion of soup. I think all three of these show masterful blending of French and Thai flavors. For brunch, the oefs Manee is healthy but also tasty and you won’t want to share it. Get some veggies, eggs and taro bread first thing on a weekend. Although I would’ve liked more taro bread. Pair that with the best matcha latte in the neighborhood and you’ve got a winning combo. The crème brûlée French toast hits all the textures for a sweet breakfast and is best paired with an espresso.

Came here for breakfast, and was very impressed by the food. The savory crepes are delicious, and all the ingredients are very high quality. Also enjoyed their unique coffee drinks, like the yuzu espresso and the coconut cloud.

First time visiting, loved it! Teeny tiny restaurant, with big flavor and big welcoming atmosphere! They make a lot out of a small space— it’s adorable and delicious and different. Had the crème brûlée French toast (with a brûlée banana!), and also the ratatouille and goat cheese crepe with smoked salmon added. Yum! Good big portions of everything. The chai latte was super yummy and frothy, and my partner enjoyed his cold brew. So many other things on menu we wanted to try! And everyone was super nice. We will be back!

Cozy little café with a French-Thai twist! The savory crepes are flavorful and unique, and the coffee is smooth and well-made. Love the relaxed vibe and friendly service—perfect spot for a chill brunch or afternoon break. Definitely coming back!

Yelp
I came here for breakfast and lunch and everything was great! I ordered the pancakes and something from the specials menu--both were delicious and freshly made. The pancakes were fluffy and cooked just right. The specials had good variety and came out quickly. Friendly service and clean space too. Definitely coming back again!

Yelp
I've been keeping an eye out for this place and I finally got to go!!! It is a cute cafe with good amount of seating and very kind staffs:) The menu shows all the recommendations or their speciality which helped us to pick what to get, though, they all looked SO good so it still took us some time. I ended up getting croque madam, which was a great portion and Delicious. the tom kha bisque though, I wanted to get another bowl or maybe 5 million more!!!!! I would love to come back again for many other things I didn't get to try. Only if my stomach could take in more!

Yelp
Food: simple and pleasant, small portions for an almost $20 dish, easy menu. Service: standard, not bad and are friendly, they greet you and are polite Ambiance: it's small. The entrance is a bit confusing. You walk in and they ask you if you are dining in or taking out. There are chairs outside (looks like 4 tables for two). Tables inside are for maybe 4 to 5 parties. There are stools but I can't imagine it would be comfortable sitting there imo -- since it is quite small. There are some random supplies here and there, nothing big, tucked away in a corner. Napkins and silverware, plates and cups were beautiful. The music playing is cafe French. The silverware and music made the ambiance pretty. Overall, it was cute. I don't know if playing French music and having some French named dishes would consider this place a French cafe (I do know there is a little bit of a Thai flare). A thought did cross my mind that I probably could have cooked this at home. It was hard to be full. Server was professional. All that you see in these photos + the tip totaled to about $50. Mindblown. It is safe to say that it was an okay experience.

Yelp
The goat cheese salad is the most divine salad I've ever had. Have you ever been really amazed by salad? I was. Blew my mind! Simple ingredients. It had no right to be this good. Perhaps it was the fact that this was placed in front of me and I immediately recognized it as the prettiest salad I've ever eaten. Maybe it was the excellent, friendly service and chill atmosphere that got me ready to eat. And maybe this salad was just made with a lot of that secret ingredient, love. Cliche? Yes. But damn delicious. Anyway, I love this place. I find new things to love every time I'm here. The vibe is always great. Everyone who works here is so nice. I'm happy to be here even when it's busy (and may it stay busy!) and the food takes longer to come out. Time's this good are worth the wait. Oh! It might have been the dressing! The dressing is fantastic and comes in a cute little gravy boat so you can control how much goes on. Or- or the goat cheese warm and on great bread. Anyway, I could go on and on about the salad. Just come here and try it yourself.

Yelp
Exciting to have a new cute little cafe/eatery in the neighborhood, offering a mix of Thai and French flavors and dishes. Chef's special $15 sounds really simple but much more flavorful than it looks - sweet pork sausage was my favorite part. Portion wise on the smaller end so you won't get food coma eating here. We also got the savory crepe with chicken, Thai pesto cream, mushroom and spinach - comes with a small salad $17. The crepe was a touch too crispy for me but overall light and good dish. Super cute interior but very tight seating and space, hard to get into the inside seat without hitting the next table. There are also a few tables on the sidewalk. Service was good but food took a really long time - I was prepared for slow service given some reviews but we ended waiting 75 mins for the first dish to come and the second dish didn't come until ten minutes after that. Luckily we got the last available table so there was no wait in advance. So if you come here, maybe set aside 2 hours just in case at least as the cafe is getting into their groove.

Yelp
The outer edges of the Astoria-Long Island City's informal border is on fire, with the latest great food addition of Maison de Manee. A fantastic French meets Thai newcomer not far from where I hand my proverbial hat when visiting up north. The staff was gorgeous attentive and did I mention gorgeous? My ice mats h latte took longer to arrive than I typically care for but the end result was worth the wait. This was a recon hit and run mission so I didn't try the crepes having just enjoyed amazing pizza at Gia's, but I digress. The crepes looked perfect and will likely swing by for Sunday brunch (manana). I can't wait. My dilemma is whether to go for the savory or sweet crepe?

Yelp
The food in Maison de Manee is definitely one of a kind! I visited last Sunday and ordered a Breakfast that was great tasting and definitely on the healthy side! The eggs were excellent and the sweet sausage it came with was very satisfying! Though the place is small, it had a lot of charm and I felt very comfortable dining there! I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a great tasting, healthy Breakfast or Lunch, 2 Thumbs Up!

Yelp
I'm thrilled that this independent cafe opened near my home. The atmosphere is sweet, the drinks are tasty, and the staff is delightful. The only savory item I've had on the menu is the omelette, and it was fabulous. It's a little bit of Paris in Astoria - so charming you'll totally forget you're across the street from a Kia Mitsubishi dealership.

Yelp
Wonderful and kind service, delicious and creative foods. We had the coconut cream pancakes which were great, and the mango sticky rice crepe - WOW, so delicious. The coffee is also excellent - by far the best in this neighborhood. The seating is comfortable, lovely and relaxing French music playing...this is our new favorite place.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I decided to stop by here for brunch to celebrate my birthday. I started off with a Thai iced tea which was delicious and not overly sweet like at other places. Then we got the Thai tea croissant which was deliciously light and sweet. My boyfriend got the eggs platter with a side of bacon and loved it. Eggs were cooked perfectly over medium and there was a generous amount of bacon (which is good cause I stole half of it). The Parmesan roasted potatoes are also a must try. I got the French toast crème brûlée and a side of over medium eggs to balance out the sweetness. It came with a crème brûléed banana which added some crunch to the dish. It was super yummy but definitely on the sweeter side. But overall the food was excellent and we loved it. Overall we had a great time and hope that this place gets the recognition it deserves. We're definitely coming back another time to try the crepes!

Yelp
This new spot just opened up and da Food was outstanding , definitely will be back again...
