Don't let the haters bring you down! We almost cancelled our reservation after reading the reviews, but boy are we glad we didn't. The location is perfect - just a minute's walk from all the French Quarter action, and close to Bourbon Street for all you party animals. But don't worry, it's far enough away that you won't be kept up all night by loud music and revelry. The king room has a comfy bed, a shower with actual water pressure, and a clean room to boot. The TV works, and the whole place has a cool historic vibe. Plus, the pool is clean and welcoming, and the staff are all super friendly. We'd definitely book this hotel again in a heartbeat.

Nice hotel in the French quarters!! This was a great find. Our room was comfortable with a balcony facing the pool. Best of both worlds staying at this hotel. Right by the night life, convenient whether we walked down to the club and street nightlife or stayed up in the room enjoying a glass of wine on our balcony. Hotel was very clean, staff was attentive and nice, valet was great.... overall definitely staying at this hotel again.

Google
It's livable, especially if you don't plan on spending a ton of time in your room. The location is great, only a few blocks from Bourbon street and close to pretty much anything else you'd wanna do in that area. The pool area is nice. The room itself has seen better days. There was a nasty blood stain on the mattress, the bathroom was in pretty rough shape with no shower curtain. Also, we got no housekeeping during our entire stay, even when specifically asking for it. We were reusing towels the entire time and trash was building up in the room. They're not luxury accommodations by any means, but if you're looking for a good location for a decent price, it's a good option. Despite everything mentioned, none of it really hindered my stay.

Great location! Not too close to Bourbon Street to be noisy, but easy walking distance. Even one night we were late walking back, but the street is well-let and I felt perfectly safe walking just that little distance from the restaurant we had late reservations for. When we arrived at Maison Dupuy, the lady at the front desk was very helpful and helped me get a reservation snafu fixed quickly. Valet was friendly and got the job done quickly. I really appreciate the ice water that was available at all hours in the lobby, as we were there during a heat wave. The AC worked great in our room too. I do appreciate having a coffee machine in the room even if there is coffee downstairs in the lobby. I could get a cup in me before I might have to speak to people in the elevator. The elevator is not new, but did not seem to be struggling. Honestly, the building is in the French Quarter and has some history, so there were some things that are fairly typical of older houses-the door to the bathroom stuck a little bit, the toiletries supplied come in individual bottles, and the ice machine was down the hall and turn right then turn left and then right again, but that's the charm of the Quarter!

I'm in New Orleans often and always looking to stay at different hotels and guest houses to offer my reviews. I found the Maison Dupuy on a 3rd party app, read the great reviews, and decided to book for 3 upcoming nights in August. I was really excited about it, and then I read some of the not-so-good Google reviews. Anyway, I'm still excited about my upcoming trip and will update my review after staying.

It was our first anniversary and besides one issue with valet which Im sure will get addressed the hotel was perfect location. The pool and outside area was wonderful. The bathroom was a little small but older building they didn't make them big. Lol. You are in the French Quarter literally when you step outside take left there is bourbon st and everything else.

Google
It's definitely a great deal for the location. Loved the ease in which we walked to EVERYTHING on our trip. Our room was not fancy by any means. Some aspects of the building are obviously aging, including aspects of the room, but we were able to do everything we needed to do. Loved the free Thursday swing lesson and Josh the bartender. Had a very nice afternoon by the pool. Definitely would consider coming again.

Google
Positive: The room was clean for the most part and the bed was comfortable Negative: No microwave in the room. Not enough counter space to use the in-room Keurig. The TV & phone didn't work. I reported this info to the hotel staff a couple of times. Not enough light. One by the door area and one lamp with a dusty shade.

Yelp
This staff at this hotel is a shining example of true southern hospitality! Warm, friendly and always accommodating. I've stayed here numerous times over the years and every time I check in, I'm reminded again why I choose to only stay here! In addition, the bedding is so comfortable. That's important here when you are doing so much walking. Even better is the fact that you can get your room good and cold. It feels amazing after walking in the heat. The one thing I will say that there are places where the hotel is showing some wear. However, if you're an experienced New Orleans visitor, you understand that the hotels in the French Quarter can take a beating.

Yelp
Our first time staying here, from the the common areas, it looks really nice. We found the room to be outdated and that it could use an refresh. The first time we used the bathroom, the toilet leaked when it was flushed ( we addressed it when we headed out for the day. Someone came in to fix it when we were gone). The sink was plugged and wouldn't drain, we took an empty water bottle and used the suction to unclog it enough to let the water drain, slowly. Black gunk came up when the suctioning was complete. I found it a strange that there was a drop ceiling in the bathroom, especially above the shower. Btw, the towels never seemed to dry out. It was very humid when we were there. The bathroom sink was very low, and I'm short! The closet door wouldn't close, and it was really banged up. We stayed in room 208. The bed was pretty comfy. The a.c. was very loud, which might bother some, but I personally like white noise when I'm sleeping (I sleep with a fan on for the sound). Our room overlooked the courtyard area with the pool and lots of seating. That area was beautiful. The lobby was very nice and in the morning there was complimentary coffee and there was always ice water available. There was a restaurant right off the lobby, that served breakfast. They had a bar there and entertainment some nights, we never had a chance to go inside. The staff was always very pleasant when we we went to the desk. Actually, we were locked out of the room, neither card would work to enter the room. I had to go down to the desk and have them re-program the key cards so that we could get into our room. I have no idea why that happened and they never gave an explanation as to why that happened. We got a great rate, I would consider staying again, I wish they would just freshen up the place a bit. The location is very convenient.

Yelp
We have been staying here about 2-3 times a year for the past 2 years. This has always been our "go-to" hotel for the French quarter. However, this last stay was a horrible experience! They charged my credit card $616 for the entire stay then said they had no record of the second payment and I still owed $313 upon my arrival! I even showed them credit card statement showing that the entire amount was already charged and they said they had no record of the second payment. I had to choice but to pull out another credit card and let them run it for an additional $313! I've now paid over $900 for a $600 2-night hotel stay! I've done everything I can to resolve it and they refuse to acknowledge it. I will never trust this hotel and will never stay there again. On top of everything else, our air conditioner wouldn't cut off and we almost froze our entire stay. We had no blankets, hand towels, or wash cloths until the 2nd night as we were told they were currently out of all 3.

Yelp
Went to NO on 03/16/24 for a mini vacation with my mom and daughter. We used a third party to pay for the room. Pros: the lobby is gorgeous, the staff was friendly & professional, the pool area was beautiful, beds were very comfy, and very close to Bourbon St (10 min walk) Cons: mold in the bathroom, no washcloth, channels are on tv weren't clear, WiFi was nonexistent, ice maker didn't work, elevator was kinda scary lol

Yelp
Stayed here after the broncos and saints game on 10/17 and had a very bad stay. Our hotel room A/C was blasting ice cold air all night and would not allow for temperature control. Our beds had no comforter and froze us out. Could not get any sleep. Do not recommend staying here.

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here earlier this month (October). It's clean, well maintained and safe (close to nearby police station). The staff were friendly and had great recommendations. The rooms are a bit dated, but for the price it was manageable. Loved that it was in walking distance to the heart of the French Quarter, but the property itself was on the outskirts in the quieter area. The food at Bistreaux, the onsite restaurant, was great too. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
The room booked was a "King Deluxe" room. According to both Southwest travel portal and the hotels site, these rooms are supposed to have a courtyard or French quarter view. As you can tell from the pictures from their site they are supposed to have couches and a lounge area. Our room has none of these things. To make matters worse the AC in the room does not appear to be working.  I brought up these issues to the front desk staff, Jasmine. She was very rude asking only, "What do you expect me to do?". They are 100% booked according to her and don't have any rooms available. I noted that I can still purchase rooms on their site and she replied, "You booked through Expedia so". I explained that I booked through Southwest travel portal and not Expedia and she replied, "Same thing". So because I booked Southwest I am a lower tier of customer?  I did ask for a manager and she ignored the request saying, "People stay in your room all the time and some ever request that specific room. I don't see the room as being the problem."

Yelp
Great location. You are in the French Quarter and just a few blocks away from Bourbon Street. The room was clean. The hotel is charming but it has seen better days. For example, the carpeting in the room was worn. Nonetheless, everything worked, from the fridge to the lights, and etc. The bed was comfortable. My work colleagues stayed at the bigger and newer hotels by the convention center. There isn't much to eat over there and the walk is 30 mins to the French Quarter. The Maison DuPuy staff is awesome, from the concierge to housekeeping to front desk. The older lady and young male concierge provided some good safety tips. He recommended calling a white and black cab to go to the airport. Some of the hotel guests partied a bit too hard. This is New Orleans, after all. One night, it was someone's birthday. On another night, others Just returned loud. Overall, it was a good place to stay.

Yelp
First the good. The location was great. That's literally it. We checked in on a Thursday night into a room that was apparently made for an ice princess because it was absolutely freezing. When we asked if we could have maintenance take a look at our thermostat they said there's no way they'd be able to fix it. Also the TV was not working which honestly isn't a big deal to us. So they moved us to another room because of the thermostat issue which we were totally happy with. Also the night we checked in their system was down so we couldn't put a card on file for incidentals. No big deal we dealt with it in the morning. When we walked in our second room I felt I was in a Goldilocks story because the room was sweltering and the AC once again was not working. Maintenance came and actually fixed the AC this time. However I'm not sure what they did but as the weekend passed it got colder and colder to the point of our final night where our room was at 64 degrees and we couldn't heat the room back up. Now we get to the fun part where we booked through priceline and paid for the hotel in full. Well because there was a problem with their system the night we checked in, they ended up charging us for a room that we already paid for. It was a constant struggle with the front desk and honestly I kind of felt like the bad guy because of how much we were down there. Even though none of these incidents were any fault of our own.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE. In a city with countless options, spend your hard earned money with a business that actually cares. There is zero southern hospitality here. I had 5 days left in New Orleans and had to MOVE HOTELS due to all issues. They stole my money, and treated me horribly. Yes. I have video proof of everything including the insane conversation I had with their unbelievably unprofessional and confrontational management. Dirty rooms. Incredibly unprofessional and rude hotel staff. Scheduled construction with ZERO warning to guests that it would disrupt your sleep. It's New Orleans, someone drilling through concrete above your head after a night in the French Quarter is less than desirable. Room - old AC, old rooms, old dirty carpets, no bathtub drain stopper, TV did not work, sheets are cheap material, and my coffee maker was missing a piece. Lock was broken and loose. No hand towels. No hand soap. Cleanliness - same DEAD BUG was on my wall, for 3 days. I actually checked out and then checked back in and ended up in the same room, with the same dead bug smooshed on the wall. No backup TP rolls. Elevator - Only one works, and it's terrifying. The other is out of service. Not surprising when you see the conditions. Front Desk - Disorganized, and always something wrong. I waited in the lobby to check in for 30 mins while the system was down. There were like 4 snacks total in the little hotel store thing and that transaction system was also down. I called down at 9am asking about how long to expect the heavy construction creating an audible assault on my eardrums, she flipped out and said I'm "the ONLY ONE COMPLAINING" and hung up. After heading to the front desk to discuss my options with management - the manager also flipped out of me and told me basically it wasn't her fault, I better not expect a discount (I didn't) and then they SPITEFULLY KEPT MY INCIDENTAL DEPOSIT when I checked out 30 mins late - due to being downstairs TRYING to deal with the unprofessional management staff for nearly half an hour. Calling down the desk for nearly 2 hours and receiving nothing but poor attitudes.

Yelp
I have not stayed at this hotel but I am doing everything I can to get a managers attention. I had such a horrible experience at the sister hotel- The Dauphine- that I encourage everyone to think twice about booking this hotel. Please reference my review for the Dauphine: DO NOT STAY HERE. I never write reviews but I feel compelled to. The rooms look nothing like the photos online. When we arrived the conditions were so horrible (hole in the wall, electrical sockets coming out of the wall, carpet so stained and dirty you couldn't walk on without shoes) we decided to leave after 1 night. The hotel promised a refund and 2+ months later still no refund. I have not been able to access a manager via phone ONCE since this happened. It's hard to remember a time I've feel so deceived. One positive note is that the front desk staff was as nice and accommodating as they could be- you could tell they deal with these complaints a lot. If I get my refund I am promised I will remove this review.

Yelp
This place is disgusting. From the mold in the broken shower, to the literal boogers on the carpet. We checked in for a fun-filled birthday weekend. I asked the very kind front desk lady about a delivery a friend was hoping to make to the hotel for the birthday celebration and she assured me they would not only accept the delivery, but drop it in the room. Great! We head to the room and it's filthy. Boogers on the carpet, drink rings from cups on the desk, and awful bathroom towels. The shower ledge to hold the soap was broken, literally sitting in the shower. And there's mold on the drop ceiling in the shower (is a drop ceiling ever a good idea in a bathroom?). Keep in mind, this isn't a discounted, budget room. This room is pricey. Anyhow, the delivered is made and sits at the front desk. My friend making the delivery calls the front desk and the lady says they're not going to even call the room to tell us it's there and if we don't come grab it, they'll throw it away. Way to make a birthday special! At the hotel, valet is required for your car. Cool, no problem. Except the valet employees have zero customer service skills and can't be found when you need your car. Calling before-hand doesn't work because no one at this hotel picks up the phone! Other employees from the front desk run around the property looking for the one valet person on duty. It makes no sense. Finally, we call from the room for towels as we didn't get any refreshed. No one picks up. Give it a few minutes and try again. No one picks up. Call from our cell and someone finally picks up. Why aren't you answering internal calls?? This hotel seriously needs some customer service training. Everyone there acts so put off by being asked to do their job. Never again. Don't bother with this space. It's disgusting.

Ann G.

Yelp
If I could give it zero I would. I hate giving bad reviews but this place is awful. Air conditioning doesn't work in the room and my door looks like the picture I attached. Why would this be acceptable. Not worth the location at all.

Yelp
Does not even deserve one star. Rude staff, disgusting rooms, and very noisy place. It took them almost an hour to get my room ready when I showed up, and guess what? The room that I got had not even been clean. Used coffee cup on the nightstands, towels on bathroom floor, stains on bedsheets... I've never ever seen that before. Took them another half hour to get me another room... Which smelt like cigarettes and had moldy bathroom. And I never got any apology from the staff. Needless to say, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Peter M.

Yelp
The hotel was run down and dirty... we looked at 3 rooms and all were subpar... would not stay there ,looked for another hotel ... A/C didn't work in the rooms we checked out ... bathrooms dirty ... a mold smell throughout the hotel .... Dirty carpets in the hallways and rooms... There description of the hotel on their web site was fictional, nothing was farther from the truth... do not stay there. There are plenty of better hotels in New Orleans.

Avery C.

Yelp
I'd like to begin by stating that I usually do not complain about inconveniences especially when the company has decent customer service. I work in customer service and try to be understanding of others who also work in customer service. With that being said-here is my honest review of the Maison Dupuy Hotel: When my friend and I arrived at the hotel upon check in there was a guest complaining at the front desk and was upset that her internet and TV didn't work. The way the employee behind the desk handled that was by using profanity and acting completely unprofessional about her issues she brought up (it didn't sound like it was the first time). This should have been a sign but my friend and I brushed it off thinking that this was just another Karen situation. When we arrived in our room we started having the same issues as the lady downstairs. Our TV also did not work. The first thing I noticed about the room other than the TV was that there was mold in the shower and the curtains were nasty. The next day we were unable to connect to the internet. We brought this issue up to the staff multiple times. We were told to try to keep reconnecting even after we had told them that it wasn't working no matter what we did. Later on we were told someone from "engineering" would be coming up to fix it. After waiting 90 minutes-no one did. We went to the front desk later on and reported our issue for a third time and also reported that no one came to our room and we were told and I quote "the hotel is booked at 100% capacity so we won't be able to connect to the internet". Ridiculous. This is a problem especially if you are someone who works remote or like me who goes to school online. Even though I was on vacation I was still planning to set aside time to turn in assignments. I was unable to do so because this amenity that I paid for was not available and no one told us at check in that this was clearly a known issue. Not to mention they also offer a "fitness center" the fitness center has no working equipment. So don't plan on training while you stay here-if that is something that is important to you. There was very noticeable mold in the shower. Grime and mildew all over the ceiling in the bathroom. There was also a hole in the bathroom ceiling that had a light in it. The amount of dust that was in there was disgusting and gnat/flies kept coming out of this hole-whatever it was. Beware-the thermostat also does not work. The curtain was cut all the way to the top so we couldn't close it. Honestly, it was so disgusting you wouldn't want to touch it anyways. All the dust and grime on those curtains were disgusting. There were stains on the comforter as well. Also, there were brown drip marks on the bathroom door and grime build up by the mirror. There are also no wash cloths-just giant hand towels. Halfway through our stay our room cards were deactivated. We were made to feel like it was somehow our fault. We were told "not to put the key next to your credit cards or your phone as it will demagnetize the cards"-not true. You should be able to put your room key in your wallet. Then we were told that the person probably didn't put the dates in correctly-whatever. The elevator in the lobby stopped working several times. The elevator we used was in the back of the hotel and it was absolutely disgusting. Floors were so stained and it looked like it had honestly never been cleaned. In lieu of all of our troubles I requested a late check out comped by the hotel. It was approved but I just had a feeling that it would not be communicated because nothing here is. The next day I went down to the lobby to check that we had the correct check out time. Surprise! We didn't. We were told that a late check out would be $75. Once again my friend and I had to fight for something that was already approved the day before. We were made to feel like we made it up. Eventually we were able to get our check out covered-but again we had to fight for it. Some of these things I could get over if the staff had tried to be more accommodating and professional. Unfortunately this was not the case. This hotel was not the most expensive-but also far from cheap and not a "steal". Honestly I should've asked for a credit. Upon checking out I just wanted bathe in Lysol.

Yelp
This place started out not good.... There messed up our reservation but eventually put us in a room...the room had no refrigerator which is not good... the carpets in the hall and room is on the dirty side... however the staff is very nice and the pool Area was clean and relaxing!!

Yelp
Stayed here several times and it keeps going downhill. The only single positive is the location. Total dump. The air didn't work the whole week, every day they said they would fix it but didn't. Cant switch you rooms since they are all booked. TV never worked. Shower wouldn't drain, and the floor and carpet haven't been cleaned for probably 5 years. Check-out is my favorite. Never once have they been able to provide a receipt. Printer is broke. Can I have that copy for my work? No thats ours, could you make a copy of it? That machine is broke as well. I emailed to you. Oh you have my email? What is it then. Of course you don't have it. I will write it down and send it to you. 5 days waiting. Must be a slow system. I hate being lied to.
google avatar

Yelp
Please book elsewhere. We had tried calling. Can't watch tv the whole time and good luck trying to get a hold of anyone at the front desk. Also, the rooms are tiny.

Yelp
For starters- if you cannot provide proper shower or toilet, then your hotel should not advertise such amenities. Upon our arrival on Friday night, we tried to shower to refresh ourselves after our travels, before making our way out on the town. But we discovered that the shower just did not provide running water whatsoever, there was not a trickle or a low pressure , it simply did not turn on whatsoever. It was completely broken. We called down to the front desk and we were told that they would try to get maintenance there that night but most likely it would be the following morning. We did not want to waste our entire first evening in New Orleans on this, so we did a sponge bath in the sink and left. In our optimism, thinking the shower would be remedied by the morning. The next morning there was no sign of improvement and no one had come up to fix, so we demanded to switch rooms. Which wasted our whole morning, repacking our things and moving rooms, on the second day of our trip. The new room was not much better. There was clearly sewage or urine backing up in the toilet and seeping out from the base onto the bathroom floor (picture included below) Mind you both rooms and the entire hallway on the fifth floor reeked of mold. Something else we noticed in both rooms was that there was painters tape around the sprinkler system, which is a fire hazard. Picture included as well. The carpet throughout the hotel was damp ( as if there was flooding or leaking) and absolutely filthy. Dirtier than any street in the entire French Quarter. So much so that we did not even feel comfortable walking without shoes in our hotel room. We've stayed in hotels throughout the world, during our extensive travels. And I've never encountered accommodations as bad as these. Why do you offer a pool that looks as it's never been cleaned in several months?? You absolutely had no pool to offer, which we were looking forward to. I've included another picture of the shower and bathroom from the second room. Where you can see that we had to place a towel over the bathtub faucet where it meets the wall, because otherwise water would spew from a hole in the wall and completely drench the entire bathroom. The hallways always had large black hefty bags of garbage just laying on the floor against the walls for more than 24 hour durations. The restaurant you so vehemently advertise was NEVER open the entire time we were there. You couldn't even get a bottle of water on the premises. The sad part is that most of the local cab drivers who would pick us up were completely familiar with the sorry state of your hotel and would ask us how we were holding up. We did not expect much from this hotel, but we never expected it to be so bad. We brought beautiful new clothing and cosmetics that we did not even feel comfortable unpacking. When we returned home, the stench of the hotel permeated so viciously throughout our garments that we had to have the entirety of it laundered.

Donna C.

Yelp
The TV was out in the living room and I was told it have been out for a week or so and that the front desk knew about this. I was told that I could move the TV from the bedroom to the living room. When I spoke with the manage the next morning, I as if I was told when I made the reservation and when I check in that the hotel had I been told of the spotty cable service. When ask if I could move to another SUITE I was told that they would move me a room not a suite in which I was paying for. Then ask if I could get some sort of credit and she told me she would let me know the amount she decided when I checked out. She was very rude. I was credit $50. And to top it off, I was charged twice; Once for the full say and for 1 night a second time and only stayed 1 night. I was changed a total of 6 nights and stayed 1 night. That math ain't mathing. And the under the sink was rusted, dirty and had holes in it; dirty carpet. And they do clean. Don't stay there ever.

Yelp
This a great centrally located hotel. It only has 5 floors and a nice lobby. We checked in seamlessly and made it to our room to find a clogged toilet, we called and about 40 minutes later someone came to assist. Bernard the front desk clerk was friendly and give some good attraction sites for music. The hotel is dated, the rooms are normal size, and the bathroom is small. Not sure if I would return to this one but it served the purpose for this March madness weekend. Guide showed many channels however several of the channels were unavailable and the signal was horrible. Probably won't return.

Yelp
Fix the ice makers on all four floors out of five, paint checks e and give the old lady an upgrade. We were there 11 years ago and the place was fantastic but now nothing has been done to keep the place great. So sad

Mark P.

Yelp
I just stayed here over Labor Day weekend. I've stayed here before and the only reason I can say I come back is the location. Old NOLA charm and character is one thing. Filthy and run down is another. This could be a beautiful hotel if they would invest in a renovation. Everything is dirty from the carpet to the bathroom floors/shower etc. The A/C filter in our room was clogged with about a 1/2 inch of dust. I use a cpap at night and could smell the room when I got home and tried to use it. Had to totally disinfect the machine. The elevators are like riding the Tower of Terror at Disney. The staff jokingly says they creek because they're old and wooden but they don't just creek. You don't feel safe in them. One day they're going to drop and someone is going to get hurt. The restaurant/bar was hardly open. There was a sign on the door saying the staff was taking a 'well earned vacation'. We were too-which is why we needed it open. I scouted around for some other options nearby and I won't be staying here again.

Timothy S.

Yelp
This place needs a lot of work. It is my understanding the hotel was recently purchased by a hotel company and renovations are supposedly coming. We stayed there 2 nights before our cruise leaving out of New Orleans. The hotel has a great location, a great lounge and a beautiful pool area. Checked in on Friday 3/15/24 and the AC in our room on the 5th floor didn't work so the front desk moved us to another room on the 2nd floor. AC worked great!!! Went downstairs to the lounge and it was awesome!!! Josh, the bartender, was great. He is very friendly, full in good NOLA tips and best of all made us a perfect Cosmo. The next morning, we woke up to brownish water backed up in our bathroom sink and maintenace at the door about a water leak coming from our room. We got ready as best we could, went downstairs for a wonderful breakfast and then left for a fun day in the French Quarter. We met some friends and got back to the hotel late that evening only to find out the issue with the plumbing has not been fixed, a mess all in our bathroom (pictures below) and a sewer smell. We could not stay in that room so once again we talked with the front desk, and they moved us a 3rd time to a suite on the 4th floor. The AC worked, the water worked, but the room is in desperate need of new carpet and some updated furniture, and neither TV worked. The ice machine didn't work, and the elevator is a little sketchy. This place has a lot of potential but the plumbing, electric, internet, carpet, fixtures, furniture, and ceiling tiles need help. I didn't feel the place was necessarily dirty as much as outdated and run down. Serveral times other hotel guests were at the front complaining and or moving rooms or just leaving frustrated. We asked for a manager with each move but they were never there, and we left our contact info all three times, but no one ever called us. We asked for a refund for the second night, but the hotel refused. I am disappointed in the hotel management. Will I stay there again...NO. My recommendation is to stay at another hotel and visit Josh at the bar for a burger and a Cosmo.

Yelp
Ac wasnt working, TVs and phones weren't working. it was 90 degree in the roOM and when we went to complaint to front desk Jason was so unprofessional. He kept contradicting himself with information and when we walked away after asking for his managers number he was cursing. worst customer service I have experienced. room wasn't given to us until almost 8pm as well. when we woke up we woke up with rashes and itchy body. I just hope that we are not taking bed bugs back home. If I could rate this hotel a negative start I would.

Yelp
The location was great. Easy inn easy out and you didn't have to mess with the French quarter traffic. The hotel is in desperate need of an update. Elevators were questionable. Pool area is very nice but needs new chairs. Staff were friendly and accommodating and everything was clean just worn.

Yelp
Maybe my expectations were too high for 147+ a night off season in the French Quarter. Just okay service at the front desk, we were struggling with bags, no offer of assistance. We were on the second floor, as far from the elevator as you can go. Walking to our room, worn, bumpy carpet and a filthy window. At least wipe the sill, hang a curtain, something. The room was furnished in worn furniture except the sofa bed which appeared new. The lamps were new, fresh from Walmart complete with all the wobbles and plastic on the shades..... seriously, the plastic left on. One faded picture with hooks on the far wall were there were others. The bathroom was grubby in the corners. Here's the kicker....the TV didn't work on most channels. We called the front desk the engineer they sent up said we have bad reception in this room, nothing he can do. The front desk says we can change rooms....but maybe we should come down, get the key, go up to that room and see if it works and then we could move our stuff. I was shocked, said no thanks and she gave a 50 credit on our bill. The pool is nice but the slate surround is hot as blazes!

Yelp
Excellent stay in the Quarter. I booked thru my Delta portal (Expedia). I booked 1st then read reviews. Boy, was I worried after reading so many one star reviews. But when I got here, a bit early, I was pleasantly surprised that Jazmine let me check in! Great start, she was very helpful and nice. My tv and AC worked, another thing to be thankful for according to other reviews these can be a problem. Yes, the property is older and has a bit of wear and tear...but that's not a problem for me. I loved that the Bistreaux connected to hotel was family friendly when live music started at 8 pm. So cool to see a family enjoying the great music playing by a ragtime band! I didn't try the restaurant so I can't comment on that. The bed was comfy, there's a small mini fridge, and it was very quiet. I wish I would've brought a stopper for the tub, because it would've been nice to have a soak. There's a pool with a nice patio area to relax in if you choose not to stay in your room. You are super close to Bourbon street and all its madness, but plenty of small bars close by. I especially liked The Schooner (serves food) , which was one block over on Burgundy and St. Peter. There's also Toulouse market and deli close by for water, snacks or a sandwich. I would not hesitate to stay again, and I hope if you do stay here, you find it as lovely as I did

Yelp
Unbelievably bad service. We're still checked in right now and we have no housekeeping. Our TV doesn't work and our phone is broken. We're in the Anne Rice Suite, we upgraded. They say they forgot we were here and so we didn't get any room-cleaning for the first 3 days. Last night, the TV turned off and still doesn't work. We've never had a working phone in the room. The front desk staff are rude as can be, and we're spending $400/night.

Yelp
Not the greatest hotel property!!! Only one elevator worked! Room keys did not work! Hotel purposely was not fixing broken items! Hotel management who run several other properties in the New Orleans is completely derelict and you should not stay in their hotels!! Shame on you for taking peoples money & making their vacations disappointing! This type of problem totally starts at the top and filters thur out the property system!

Yelp
It is hard for me to complain about a business, but PLEASE DO NOT let the photo-shopped pictures lure you into staying here. Prior to reopening, this hotel is one of 16 hotels that was purchased as part of the J Hospitality and Development Group. It was reopened two years ago, but no updates, cleaning, painting, etc. have been accomplished. Pros: *Great location for lots of activities, music and action, yet the noise is not heard at the hotel *Some of the staff were kind and helpful, others just talked among themselves, were on their phones or doing nothing...let alone provide any customer service. Cons: *The hotel itself is grungy...it needs a real good deep clean throughout. *Mold in the bathroom ceiling tiles *Carpets beyond their useful life, plagued with stains *Spilled liquids on doors that were never cleaned *Only one of two elevators worked, so we took the stairs. Pictures can speak for themselves. *No pressure washing or mopping of the patio...glad no one was having a wedding! Yes, we understand it is hard to find workers who want to work. Plus working in the hospitality industry is hard, but this hotel should not be open. The false pretensions that their website exhibits is a crime. We were there for a week and the issues remained throughout our stay.

Yelp
Do not stay here. Hotel was clearly beautiful in its glory days but those are long gone. Torn up stained carpet everywhere, scuffed walls and paint, hotel just feels dirty. Phone in our room was broken and we could not call down to reception for help when a psychotic woman on the same floor was yelling, slamming doors and arguing with an imaginary person. I would give this place no stars except for the fact that they book good jazz musicians to perform nightly in their hotel cafe. Pool is allegedly heated but is not. Booked this hotel originally based on a recommendation from my Moms friend but think her friend might be blind because its a complete eyesore. This place is not at budget pricing either, it was almost $200 per night. Do your homework people and research better places to stay. I learned from my mistake

Yelp
Pretty good hotel if you want to live around the French quarter but stay away from the noise... Better if you get it on a deal. With a view of the central pool there's no much that we missed, other than a refrigerator in the room. You know when you're in New Orleans, you will have leftovers. It's a walk away from everything, yet gives a quick exit to the main streets if you are planning to drive back or rush to the airport without getting in the busy one way streets. The carpets seem pretty old and it's the same for the AC unit. The temperature might have been controlled around low 70s as it didn't get as cold as other hotel rooms. It's a dog friendly hotel and they have a valet, where you can leave your bags, if it's too early to check in or too early for your departure flight. Although you could hear the neighbors and for some reason there was a space under the room door (over an inch of space). Overall a good hotel for a few days stay and if you get it on a deal. Oh yes, they also have a restaurant in the hotel (with room service available) - Bistreaux.

Yelp
BE SURE TO READ CURRENT REVIEWS! They are buried on the bottom - we stayed at this hotel five years ago and were so excited to return for our anniversary. We were absolutely crushed. Rooms had aged poorly, no upkeep. Towel were threadbare, plaster was falling from the ceiling, shower curtains were torn and hanging from the curtain rod. Our front desk experiences were underwhelming and just sad. None of the pictures on booking.com, Expedia or other major websites have current photos of just how bad the rooms are. It's pretty shocking. Carpets were so dirty I didn't want to take my shoes off. Plastic cups and basic cable tv. Excruciatingly slow internet. Good luck trying to watch anything on your laptops. The bed had the world's thinnest sheet, no bedspread or comforter , only one end table, NO CHARGING PORTS, just a power strip on the dirty floor. The hair dryer was broken and started to smoke when I used it, I had to toss it on the balcony in case it caught fire. We went down to the front desk and they said they would send housekeeping up with one. We gave up after an hour of waiting, asked a housekeeper in the hallway and she didn't speak English. The restaurant we loved so much years ago was closed the entire week (even Friday when it was supposed to be open) due to "unforeseen circustances." So no morning coffee, breakfast, happy hour our dinners. Hard to find anything to eat on that side of the quarter unless you walk down to Hotel St. Marie. We desperately wished we could have moved to Hotel St. Marie but it was right before Jazz Fest - everything was booked. on the plus side, it's far enough off Bourbon street to be quiet, and the courtyard is still beautiful and they provided bottled water. I've honestly stayed in nicer Motel 6's. It makes me sad to write this review, we hope it gets the TLC and happy staff it deserves. Please book elsewhere.

Yelp
Dirty, mold mildew, actual dirt....nothing works. Don't stay here. It's gone downhill over The last few years, any good review is either old or fake, this place is worst than a motel 6.

Yelp
Location location location. -- close enough that you can walk to all main attractions, but sufficient distance to not be bothered with late-night noise. Offers all that you need - very comfortable bed, clean and soft linen and pillows. Cons: Needs a little update, and the in-house Bistro was not open.

Max W.

Yelp
Ok, the bed was definitely comfy, the elevator was scary as hell & city view, no such thing! Cleanliness was moderate. Location was great for walking & transit. Front desk staff were mostly nice, but when I took a brochure for a place to visit that they recommended & walked all the way there to find out it had been closed for 10 months....Really! Sometimes wifi worked & sometimes not. A vending machine on each floor would be nice! New Orleans Louisiana great city !

Yelp
This hotel I was told was sooo nice. Ughhh.... The carpet is ripped and needs to be replaced the sheets are torn on the bed. The rooms and bathrooms are super small. (Seriously, loose a few rooms and up the bed size and quality) Front desk was super kind. But the accommodations are subpar. A coat of paint, a good scrub, and a cafe are desperately needed. Especially for the price.

Yelp
It's historic. Very, very historic. And what gives it the allure is also what makes it sketchy af. The rooms were small.. like tiny, but the view kinda made up for it. I'm kinda salty because I paid more for this super out-dated room, with a cringy elevator and no food in the hotel than I have for much nicer accommodations. I guess that walk to bourbon street is where it's at.

Yelp
I made the unfortunate mistake of making reservation through a third-party, Expedia after showing receipts that I had already paid for two rooms. The front desk basically bullied me into another 700 for a room I just paid for and had receipts, because they refuse to communicate with Expedia. They have absolutely no aspect of professionalism at all, instead giving me catty comments, saying I should have booked with them instead, which at the moment was not needed, I had realized my mistake of not booking with the hotel but the snide remarks were not needed or appreciated. it is nearing close to a week since my trip and I have still received absolutely no help getting a refund since the front desk basically scammed me, they have refused to work with me and Expedia, and for all the money I paid the rooms were an absolute disappointment. Small barely furnished, view is terrible, the elevator sound like they're going to fall at any moment. Do not waste your money coming to this hotel.

Yelp
Avoid at all costs. This hotel is old, okay, we get it, the area is old. But they literally have not made any updates since the Louisiana Purchase. We chose here because it has the largest pool in the area. Our room had the following. - Broken Telephone - No bath stopper - No bathroom fan - 3 out of 4 light fixtures did not work. We stayed 5 night. Mentioned the issues to the front desk and said they would send someone, never did. It's also dirty.

Theresa L.

Yelp
So, to say I was disappointed in the hotel is an understatement. We stayed 4 nights, in May 2022, and had a double balcony room. There were several things wrong with our room, for one the toilet seat wasn't actually attached, the carpet had these horrible stains near the bed, and the carpet was unfinished at the door. The paint is also peeling in the rooms. Refrigerators are horrible and barely keep anything cold (checked our friends' rooms as well, 3 other rooms, 4 in total) The ice machines didn't work on most of the floors, and by the end of our stay, the only ice machine that worked was on the 5th floor. AC in our room didn't work either. The configuration of the rooms needs work or they need to change the bathroom doors. If one of the bathroom doors is left open, and someone opens the room door they collide. They have split bathroom doors, I think to keep with the New Orleans architecture. But the hitting doors clearly happen frequently with the number of dents in them. We were at the hotel with a group and every room that a friend of ours was in had the same issues. (A total of 4 rooms, including ours) The elevators are suspicious. One elevator makes some very questionable sounds when guests are inside and does this "extra drop" before you get out on the lobby level. The second elevator just closes on people while they are trying to get in, and often close before you can actually get in. Now, for the most part, I would be able to overlook most of that if it hadn't been for the cockroaches. On our last night there we saw multiple cockroaches on our floor and in the elevators. I didn't take pictures of everything, but I have attached some of the photos I did take. Very disappointed in our stay. The staff also isn't the friendliest. I don't recommend this hotel.

Yelp
When we checked in on our first day the front desk guy was my least favorite part about the hotel. We had never been to New Orleans and asked where to go and hit to get to bourbon street. He could barely utter it was 2 blocks away and acted like we should know that. We also asked for restaurant recommendations and he acted like we were bothering him. I also asked what the mask mandate was in the town and again seemed bothered. He needs a personality boost. We dealt with someone the complete opposite when we had called a few days before to make sure what kind of room we had. Now that guy was personable, friendly and very helpful. Maybe Gerard? I can not remember. Every other from desk was helpful and friendly except the first guy we had on checking in. Every time I saw him at the front desk I avoided him.

Yelp
Spent a night here, the balcony in our room was great. The pillows are super soft and comfortable. Definitely an older historic hotel but worth it because it's centrally located in the french quarter. The valet parking is also super easy to navigate, everyone was friendly and helpful!

Yelp
Clean vintage hotel. Service was on point; anything we needed, we received it quickly. Prices were great. We visited New Orleans for its historical significance and southern charm. This hotel represented those ideals. If you're looking for a fancy and modern hotel, this is not your place. However if you are looking for a vintage and charming inn that truly treats you like they are genuinely happy you're there, select Hotel Dupuy. This hotel is steps from everywhere you would want to go.

Yelp
The hotel is in a great location and gets the job done. There was some chaos when we stayed including them running out of clean towels, the toilet had some flushing issues, and the air conditioning being broken...that made me rate it with less stars. What made our stay the best was Curtis, at the front desk. He was amazing and his customer service is worth staying at this location. He greeted us every evening and was a familiar face to see when we came back after nights on Bourbon St. The staff there is all wonderful!

Yelp
The worst experience! Starts by no toilet paper in the room. Then the Tv not working, cold wet carpet from the rain from the balcony door. Tried to call to complain, but the phone was not working. On the way out for dinner, we told the front desk that there was no toilet paper in the room. So they handed us 2 rolls !!! I'm not going to let them ruin our evening. After a cold night out, we couldn't wait to get a hot shower. But of course, a sprinkle of lukewarm water! Not to forget, a vomit at the elevator door that is still there 2 days later!!! What can I say, a total disaster of a place! The front desk didn't care to be helpful!!
