"Maison Kayser, founded by fifth-generation French baker Eric Kayser, has opened its first location in D.C. This casual sit-down eatery, originally established in Paris in 1996, made its U.S. debut in New York City in 2012. The D.C. branch, located near the White House, offers fresh baked breads, gourmet pastries, and cafe-style fare. Reviews highlight the quality of the food, the friendly and clean environment, and the authentic French experience it provides." - Tierney Plumb

Went here to try some of the desserts they offer. Selection was very nice, except half of the case you need to view from outside ( not the best design). Things look very pretty and well executed. Only thing negative about this was the customer service. Asking for help seemed like I was asking for money to the staff, little effort on their end to assist and just a poor attitude. Seems like I'm not the only one based on the reviews. Improve the customer service for a total great experience!

Small and Cosy French Style Cafe, they have Self Service and Table Service inside. Food was OK and Amazing Coffee. Bread and Pastries are Totally Yummy, must try. It's Pricy and Staff aren't very friendly. The Self Service area is mostly on the road side outside and the inside is just very few. Wouldn't mind visiting again but just for the coffee, bread and Pastries, other things aren't that great.

we went to brunch. Nice atmosphere. it was different menu between doing day and weekend. Weekend doesn’t come with salads and breads.

Thoroughly enjoyed my breakfast!!!! The weather was a beautiful 71 degrees so it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather! The service was excellent ! And the food was just what I needed! This one and the one and the one in New York are my new go to for French food...

We stopped there because Starbucks was closed... what a pleasant surprise it was. Coffee and tea was very nice prepared, and the cakes were delicious, but most importantly, the attention of the staff was amazing, very friendly people. If time allows, we will be returning there. Thanks Rudi and Meilin!

Quick to-go service and an excellent chocolate croissant. Certainly nothing extraordinary that would require a special trip, but if you're in the area it's worth a stop.

Amazing place to visit. Friendly staff and delicious food. Such a treat. Best split pea soup I've ever had.
