This is one of my favourite French breakfast places in Lakeview and Chicago overall! Their atmosphere is beautiful, the aesthetic is nice and authentic. The servers were nice and professional. The pastries were fluffy and crispy! My favourite is the almond croissant. I also like their quiche. Their crepe is super tasty, and finally their macaroons tastes great! I highly recommend visiting this place for brunch in the weekend 👍👍

Google
Absolutely one of my favorite places, I have just discovered! Our server was very attentive, food came out quick, and drinks and all of the food we had was amazing. Will definitely be making this one of our regular restaurants to go to, my wife cannot wait to come back!

Google
An amazing place with incredible food and a warm, welcoming team! Every detail was perfect, and the staff made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this spot—you won’t be disappointed! Encore merci pour l’accueil et quel bonheur de trouver un petit bout de France à Chicago.

We just moved to Chicago 4 days ago. The morning after we moved we had breakfast here and it was superb! They were warm and welcoming and the food was outstanding and original! I ordered a brussels sprout bruschetta that was phenomenal! I had the pistachio latte that was just wow. My husband ordered a French breakfast. We came again today with the kids for brunch. We had just missed the complimentary pancakes for the kids, but they still honored it which they did not have to! I ordered a watermelon salad, bruschetta and my husband the chakchuka. My kids had the nutella and banana pancakes that were just WOW! The watermelon salad was so fresh and delicious and the chakchuka too. The ambience is so lovely! The decor original and the staff so friendly. We met Lilly the lovely manager, and George who remembered us from a few days ago and both who went out of the way to make sure we had everything we need. Such fun knowing we have a neighborhood cafe. We will be back before you know it!

Google
Is it to die for, no. You would think omg these have to be incredibly good croissants... annd unfortunately they're just "ok". No bias, I came to have my mind blown with a wonderful french delicacy...and I was met with a dry, mediocre croissant at best. Out of 10, a 5. Also had a crème brûlée..once again just ok. The glass like sugar on top of a typical crème brûlée, non existent. Definitely wouldn't put blackberries or raspberries on top either as they did. Presentation beautiful, out of 10, a 6. In any food outing endeavor the only question matters is it enough to bring me back. No, unfortunately. Really had high hopes. Love a good croissant. If your croissant is akin to a Jewel Osco croissant.. its a cross'aint.

Google
This place is too cute!! Loved the decor and ambiance. Service is first come first serve. No reservations are accepted. We got a table right away. Service was excellent!! Food was delicious 😋 I got the pistachio latte (very tasty and not too sweet) and the croque monsieur (bread was a bit dry and I expected it to be dipped in egg and browned/crunchy but it was not the case), still tasty. My friend got an onion soup and the tartine combo; soup was okay, she said. The other one got the omelette and she loved it. Would definitely go back!

Google
I have seen this Restaurant on my Instagram so many times and I had no idea that it was within walking distance of my salon. This was such a fantastic experience the decor, the food, the wonderful service. I can’t say enough! What a find in Lakeview! The smoked salmon was phenomenal! I didn’t feel rushed, I felt right at home. I will definitely be back.

Google
We got the eggs benedict with smoked salmon, organic croque monsieur, nutella banana crepe and all of it were amazing. For coffee, we got cappuccino and the pistachio latte. Unfortunately, the cappuccino tasted a bit burnt and the foam was quite a lot (check photos) 😅 As for the pistachio latte, it was too sweet and the syrup tasted very artificial. Hope they could improve it more 🤍 The service is good, we were seated immediately and we didn’t have a reservation. Overall, this is a great brunch spot especially when it’s a sunny day. Unfortunately, it was raining when we were there so it was a bit dark because of their lighting. Overall, the place has a great cozy ambiance perfect for a brunch with your family or friends 🤍 will be back once we get another sunny weekend 😄 Recommended: EGGS BENEDICT WITH SMOKED SALMON!

Yelp
I came here for a date and had a lovely time. The ambience of Maison Marcel is definitely the biggest draw- the plants, furnishings, and design make you feel like you're in a sunny coastal town even on a grey chicago day. I had the cappuccino and quiche- both were lovely. The quiche came in a very large portion and could be easily shared between two people. The service was very good and friendly. Admittedly, in the past, I've found the staff to come across a bit pretentious but based on my experience this past weekend this may no longer be the case and I'll have to come back more frequently.

Yelp
Great location and warm cozy atmosphere. The environment, staff and food does give a feel that you are close to France. Pastries are excellent. Croissants and twists are flaky on the outside and so soft and fluffy on the inside. The salads are all very good, decent portions, prices and fresh ingredients not overly salty with right amount of dressing. Soups are excellent. Basically everything was good or great. Staff are friendly and the service was on point. One concern is the use of styrofoam, so there is a negative for environment friendliness.

Yelp
Will never be over the tartines! No really, I think about the brussel sprout bruschetta constantly. It's that good. The smoked salmon tartine is also very delicious, but the true star of the show is the brussel sprout. I've also been here for breakfast (though I'm more of a brunch gal) and love their selection of lattes. Their crepes and parfait granola are also favorites. Plus, who doesn't love a sweet treat?! Their macarons are way yummy. The interior here is gorgeous. Photo worthy truly. I also like that they offer outdoor seating when the weather is nice. My one knock is that service can sometimes be slow, so if you're in a rush, this may not be the place for you.

Sheila C.

Yelp
Super cute French bakery and restaurant. Loved the laid back but nice decor. The food was all great, the service was timely and friendly. It seemed as though all the staff were French as well which was cool! We split the almond croissant (incredible), my dad and boyfriend both got the French omelette, and I got the ratatouille. We all joined the clean plate club :)

Yelp
I almost slept on this place because of you three star haters and shame on you. If you're complaining that it's expensive I'm assuming you don't know how much things cost in the city because this is pretty typical and if you think the food was bad you don't know how to order. We started with tipsy chai in beautiful dainty little teacups and this is how we're going to survive Chicago winter. We split the croque monsieur which was a little taste of heaven (even the salad? Wild) and the Nutella banana crepes. It's also across the street from a k beauty shop and another cute little clothing store where I bought epic earrings and if there's a better way to spend an afternoon with your bestie I don't know it.

Ernie H.

Yelp
It's hard to ignore this spot, hard as I try primarily because the food items are just soso. It is however to beautiful to behold. Outside and especially inside. That alone is worth the visit(see pics). There is however one thing that is heavenly in this place and that is the Lavender Coffee. Also the crew parle Francais as a Francophile what more can you ask for? Did I mention it's pretty as a postcard? It's also dog friendly.

Kayla J.

Yelp
3.5 stars. This is such a cute spot with lovely ambiance and a very friendly owner. Both the interior and exterior of this place are gorgeous. I've only ever gotten their quiche. It's rich and decadent but the bottom of the crust always gets very tough. I find myself having to like...stab it with the tip of my knife and fear for breaking the cute China kind of tough. But it's delicious regardless.

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
Amazing place. I love coming in on the weekends after my workouts to grab coffees and pastries. Iced oat milk latte is amazing, and the chocolate croissant is one of my fav in the neighborhood. The staff is super friendly and kind. The vibes are cozy, and lowkey. Oh! And get the baguette on your way out!

Aishah P.

Yelp
This restaurant is stunning! I've been meaning to come by and visit for a while now but haven't been able to since they close at 4 but I'm so glad I got to try it! We got the kale salad (with two extra eggs) as well as a ratatouille split between three of us and it was chef's kiss. The food was delicious and fresh, we basically cleared out our plates. Our server was attentive and we got seated very quickly despite it being a full house and no reservation. The restaurant is lively and the vibes do remind me of when I visited Paris. Love love love!

Brynn P.

Yelp
This is the first time we went here and it was wonderful! You sit where you want and order at the counter. While waiting, the ambiance has such a dreamy and summery vibe. We loved sitting here as a group, the only issue was that the food all arrived at different times. So it made it a bit doffing to eat together. The only negative was that the restroom was not well kept. The entire restroom floor was soaking wet. I'd love to return, but the next time I hope the restroom is cleaner!

Natalie L.

Yelp
Loved this little cafe! The lattes were perfect and hot and the croissants were sooo yummy!! The brussel sprouts bruschetta had a few too many brussel sprouts but would always rather have more than less! Avocado toast and Quiche were also so plentiful. Was a perfect Sunday morning vibe during the pride parade! Waiters were friendly and offered advice on the menu :)

Daisy J.

Yelp
Let me just start with saying this place's service is very french. Every time we came here with our kiddos, we would awkwardly stand at the front counter for like 5 mins. there are usually one or two staff there who would give a quick look at us with the corner of his eye and then no one would say a single word to us. no "morning" (I'm not even asking the "good" part, just a "morning"), no "how can I help you", not even a hello. we start ordering food and the staff just look like they have better places to go than serving customers. I have never had a welcoming feeling at this place the times I came here. So not sure if that's just the service style they provide to all their customers or they just dislike people coming in with kids.... the pastries and food here are decent, and that's the only reason I would considering coming back.

Kate M.

Yelp
Oh my gosh! What a dreamy spot. I've often past by Maison Marcel, but this was my first time dining here. The French/Parisian vibes are cultivated throughout the entire restaurant, from the welcoming decor to the thoughtful menu. I visited on a busy Saturday afternoon, and despite the brunch rush was able to be seated right away on the outdoor patio! We actually sat along the side of the building, which was shady and avoided the foot traffic of the patio along the front. I started with a lemonade to sip on and my friend and I ordered the almond chocolate croissant as a sweet treat. HEAVENLY! The exterior was crispy and flaky, but the inside had delicious chocolate filling that perfectly accompanied the shredded almonds on top. For lunch, I went with the avocado toast. It's served on a large slice of organic country bread with mashed avocado and two poached eggs. I noticed mine also had pickled cauliflower on it. Kind of random, but I really liked the crunch it gave! This was also served with a side salad. I also got a side of turkey bacon, which was really delicious! Overall, everything tasted really delicious. With that said, prices as steep. $8 for a side of bacon, and $17 for avocado toast hurts a little bit. I do think ingredients are thoughtfully sourced, so it's nice to know that you're consuming really good quality ingredients, but it is on rather pricey, especially compared to other breakfast spots around town.

Yelp
This is such a cute little cafe in lake view. The ambience is very Parisian, with lots of old style seating, bird cages, flowers and plants. The service is a bit slow. I've noticed that the servers are French and don't speak English very well so it makes it a bit difficult to communicate with them as well. The food on the other hand, is delicious! Their avocado toast, roasted vegetable sandwich and burrata are so scrumptious! Their coffee is great too! They have water stations around in the cafe as well. Overall a very cute cafe to stop by for work or get brunch. A must visit!

Risha M.

Yelp
Finally checked out Maison Marcel. I was in the area after an early doctor's appointment and decided to work a few hours from the coffee shop. This is a perfect cafe to work from! Lots of comfy seating, fast WiFi, great coffee, and a great menu full of treats and healthier options. I was in the area twice in the same week, I loved it so much I came back! First time I had a cafe au lait and a croissant with a scrambled egg! Second time I got a smoked salmon tartine and pistachio latte! All of it was delicious and fresh. Note on the salmon tartine, it's heavy on the cream cheese so I will ask for lighter cheese next time.

Anu K.

Yelp
Celebrated my bridal shower brunch here with my close family. These desserts were so cute and fancy. Each one was a different flavor almost like a custard. Must try atleast one, we had several to share around since brunch was very filling too here. Cute place that had mimosas and French based brunch menu items. Very pretty decor inside and outside of flowers! Very ig picture worthy!

Karen C.

Yelp
One of the prettiest cafes! There's a variety of seating including wicker chairs, sofas, benches, and long tables! I came here on a Wednesday morning to work from home. The staff was friendly and brewed up my hot chocolate quickly. I will def be coming back to try more!

Sandra T.

Yelp
Perfect poached egg . Perfect baguette. Lovely jam. A menu with much to try and beautiful baked goods. Sweet place with good service worthy of return visits.

Annette D.

Yelp
Charming neighborhood place. You order specialty coffees, pastries and hot breakfasts at the counter. Food is served on lovely china plates (sustainability plus). As an avocado toast aficionado, I could not resist this option. Creamy avocado spread on harvest bread toast topped with pickled veggies and poached eggs. Each entree comes with a beautiful mixed green salad. As pretty as it is tasty. We also split a pistachio Nutella pastry that was to die for. The ambiance is cozy chic with Parisian vibe. Choose a comfy sofa or chair to enjoy your coffee and treats. Love the fresh greenery hanging baskets throughout the space.

Tracey Z.

Yelp
Lovely little french cafe! Outside and inside it is absolutely beautiful! We were seated right away for Sunday brunch, love how all the chairs and tables look different. Makes it really eclectic! I ordered the smoked salmon baguette, a huge sandwich for only $10! Great deal. The sandwich was well balanced and the bread was so fresh. Enjoyed every bite :). Also tried Brussel sprout tartine- delicious blend of flavors and super refreshing! Only note is the music is pretty loud, kind of makes it difficult for conversation.

Michael A.

Yelp
Pure mediocrity. This restaurant has a very pleasant and comfortable interior with couches (you order at the counter and they bring you your food and drinks) as well as a small seating area outside. The service is friendly and pleasant. But it seems as if they put only the minimal effort possible into the food. Like at too many other places in Chicago, the "croissants" are fake croissants, really nothing more than white bread in a crescent shape. They aren't flaky, like real croissants; they don't have a buttery flavor; and the inside isn't stretchy yet soft like a real croissant. So disappointing. Their baguette sandwiches are pretty good, but they're always sold out right in the middle of the lunch rush. It's baffling to me that they can't make enough to last until 1:00 p.m. or so, or make more on request. The quiche is slightly dry and completely unmemorable. And the French onion soup is terrible. It lacks the bold, satisfying flavor of real French onion soup, and seems to be made with Swiss cheese instead of the classic Gruyère, so the cheese lacks the classic stretchy, chewy texture and deep, rich flavor that Gruyère brings to the dish. It's only a casual spot, so I'm not expecting fine French dining. But even a casual French restaurant should be a lot better than this.

Hilda N.

Yelp
Maison Marcel is my favorite cafe in Chicago. The service is not the best and not the worst. The food can be a little hit or miss but the shakshuka is good and the french onion soup is to die for. They put a huge slab of bread in it and it has a slight sweetness to it. The drinks are REALLY good: my favorites are the iced lavendar chai latte and the tipsy chai which has a splash of bourbon to it. The atmosphere is awesome -- literally feels like you stumbled into a boho chic jungle. It's the perfect place for a date or a to do a work from home day with a friend.

Georgia G.

Yelp
I picked up some pastries from here bc my mom who lives in the burbs asked me too, she's a sucker for French desserts. I got there at 2pm on a Saturday and was lucky enough they still had some almond croissants, cookies and macaroons. I got a couple of each and my word, the almond croissant was out of this world. Honestly, an almond croissant isn't my first choice but man was this delicious; it was soft gooey and perfectly sweet to croissant ratio. The place was packed for dine in and there was a small line for the carryout items. Although it was so very busy the person helping me was very friendly and did not rush me which is always a nice feeling. The vibe inside is so adorable & welcoming, I will definitely be back to hopefully dine in as the food looked delicious as well so hoping to come back for a girls brunch in the near future.

Jessica L.

Yelp
The building is so beautifully decorated. It's an absolute stunner with the pink flower vines and greenery surrounding the white building. The inside is just as pretty!! I personally felt very crowded inside - there isn't much space between tables. Someone on Instagram had recommended this place for studying, but I found it to be too loud. We ended up going to Intelligentsia across the street to study. However, it is a nice brunch / lunch spot to hang out and talk. I ordered the Benedict with smoked salmon and French onion soup. The Benedict is pretty standard tasting - I didn't like the bread as the crust was really hard to cut. The French onion soup was DELICIOUS. It's served in a pretty decent sized bowl with a huge cheesy bread. The bread has an abundant amount of cheese that really adds to each spoonful of soup. I highly recommend the French onion soup! Overall a super cute and aesthetic place to hang out in! I'd stop by again for brunch or lunch.

Michael M.

Yelp
I love this place - lovely atmosphere and great baked goods!! Only wish it was open later...

Anne G.

Yelp
Got the tea for two with London fog tea. Enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance. Pastries were good but not as flakey as you might find in Paris. Average service and a tasty baguette.

Ashley C.

Yelp
Maison Marcel feels like a hidden gem that you want to see get more appreciation, but kinda want it all for yourself. The decor is very cozy and unique with the seating and all the plants. I popped in by myself for brunch, and I appreciated that the manager offered me a choice between a communal table or my own table especially since it was a little busy. I ordered a Bloody Mary, and it was genuinely one of the best I've ever had. I wasn't expecting a French restaurant to make a Bloody Mary that good, but I had to stop myself from inhaling it. I had the Croque Monsieur for my main course, which I'd give a 7.5/10 due to the bread. The salad helped satiate me though. I got a croissant to go, and WOW! I've heard their pastries are well done, so I'm glad people were right! Both the manager and the waitress were very kind and didn't rush me, which I always appreciate when dining solo. Treat yourself!

Ro L.

Yelp
Why not 5 stars!!! Are you kidding. Come here if you want something -- a fabulous brunch. Attention to detail, gastronomic delight. Ro and Curt

Kevin M.

Yelp
Wonderful overall experience for breakfast this morning. Attentive wait staff, pleasant ambience, three water cups over a room temperature carafe, great food selection and reasonable prices. I loved my salmon lox toast and light oil and vinegar dressing. Five stars. My wife and daughter loved their shared omelette, but were lukewarm on their quiche. We all loved our respective coffees - mine a cappuchino. Food and drinks came out very fast. Definite return trip.

Lucas S.

Yelp
Food: 3, the brioche bread on the eggs Benedict was a bit stale Service: 2.5, waited longer than desired for water despite it being 2 ft away Ambiance: 4, cute and lively, outdoor seating was great

Ane S.

Yelp
Awesome ambiance, great food! And good service as always! Every time I visit Chicago I have to go and have breakfast at this place!

Kimberlie C.

Yelp
Maison Marcel has strong social media game. Targeted ads finally brought us to our first visit to the Lakeview location. Worth it? Unless you're able to snag a table in their cute outdoor seating area, we say this is a pass for us. $17 ratatouille shakshuka? It honestly tasted liked jarred tomato sauce + roasted veg. The grapefruit juice seemed like it would be fresh squeezed at its $6 pricepoint, but we're pretty sure it was just concentrate; we ended up adding water to it. Their smoothie was unimpressive. It was coconut milk forward with the faintest hint of mint. If anything, Maison Marcel does have bread going for them. If you visit, we recommend sticking w the pastries. If Maison Marcel is more known for their decor, we'd have to question the upkeep. We recognize the decor truly is the hype/ draw. Unless they're currently doing some work, the brick exterior looked like it was peeling in some places. The inside is super super dim and could benefit from more light fixtures. (We went around 2:30 pm) In addition, they seemed a bit short staffed. Tables were not cleared; we saw several parties pile their dishes onto a vacant table, making room for other guests. We wiped down our table too. Ordered: Ratatouille Shakshuka, Baguette with Butter and Strawberry Jam, Green Machine Smoothie (coconut milk, apple, pineapple, mint, lime), and Grapefeuit juice

Amanda D.

Yelp
I thought this place was great. Sure, it is a tad over priced, but nothing that wasn't expensive for the area. Interior is adorable! Exterior seating was plentiful. Both the breakfast and lunch menu had a decent amount of options and the pastry offerings were clearly labeled and looked delicious. We came on a random Thursday in July, but the place did fill up quickly; not sure I would take my chances on a weekend for brunch, unless I was taking coffee to go. All in all, great experience and I would definitely recommend.

Jenna O.

Yelp
I really want to give this place more stars because it is so cute on the inside, but the food and drinks really aren't that worth it, especially for the prices. We arrived, got a table, and placed an order for drinks and waited to order food until our last friend arrived. Once our we did finally order our food, it only took 20 minutes, which isn't a bad wait for food, but our drinks... while they tasted just fine, it took them nearly 40 minutes to come out. Even at the busiest coffee shops, 40 minutes is quite a long time for a coffee once an order is placed. The food was quite good, but I really don't think the prices are quantifiable with what you're getting. An avocado toast for $15? Grits for $16? Presentation only takes you so far when you're getting food. I don't think I will be going back... It is a unique place, and I am happy I came once, but that is all I will ever need. All I need in life to make me happy is coffee, and they didn't even provide that. I wish I could vote this high, but I don't think it is worth it. Now if I lived in the area, I might consider going for teatime (tea for 2), which is only $35 and that seems like a great price. If someone has done this and actually thinks it is worth it let me know, because I might just add it to my stops if I am ever back in the area.

Aleah H.

Yelp
Review is for breakfast pastries only (not table service for the full breakfast) - - LOVED how authentic the French pastries and breads are. It's truly rare. That being said, I understand/agree it's not the best value for a great breakfast pastry. However, if you have a craving or need for authentic French baking, I find it worth it. - The patio is very cute, clean, and well set up for a quick morning coffee and pastry with your pup. It's not a regular spot for me, but I'm glad they're in Lakeview!!

Jenny L.

Yelp
Came to this place for breakfast (8:30) and the interior is very instagram friendly. The music volume was decent. Not too soft but not too obnoxiously loud. We ordered an açaí bowl ($11), croissant ($3.99), omelette mushrooms ($15), and hot chai latte ($5). Total came out to be $38.74. It's self seating and there's plenty of places to choose from. Your drinks are prepared at the counter and your food is served to you at your table. Chai latte - came out relatively fast but the drink temperature was lukewarm and chai flavor tasted watered down Omelette - vegan friendly and a good sized portion. Salad had vinaigrette dressing on it and tasted decent Croissant - okay. Not the best but not bad. Açaí bowl - there's better places to get it for a more decent price and flavor

Lara M.

Yelp
Got delivery. It was great! It was very fresh carbs, dairy, and meats. I wouldn't expect fresh vegetables from this area of the US. They give huge portions too.

NaBeela W.

Yelp
I'm still on the hunt for the best almond croissant in Chicago! I've tried many but only a select few come close to the magic of European pastries. Maison Marcel was delightfully disappointing. I found out about them on a Reddit thread about all things croissants. I wasn't able to capture many photos, but there is metered parking out front and a back lot behind the business (this lot is pay through text parking). There is seating outside and inside but it felt a bit cramped for my liking. The decor is cute, but felt like it was trying hard and I was a bit confused on how to place an order. I had called ahead to guarantee the availability of almond croissants and they shared I could come by around 9:15AM. I arrived around 9:17AM and was shocked to see what appeared to be a stack of almond croissants that looked nothing like pics online or what I was accustomed to. I had come all that way so fully committed to trying it. $6 later, I had one almond croissant in tow. I'm only leaving two stars because the taste (especially the frangipane) of this "croissant" was amazing. I did not care for the appearance nor texture. And while I was thankful that I got to enjoy it warm without heating it myself, it barely held its shape and felt like a cross between a crepe and a croissant. Very floppy , not really crunchy, more cake-like. The inside was just the right amount of sweet, and was slightly fluffy in places, slightly crunchy in others; however my brain couldn't process exactly what I was eating. It's funny because this place had legit croissants, right beside these, so I honestly think I might've been swindled or the person making these today just had a bad day. If Maison ever makes these consistent with real almond croissants, I'll be a fan for sure. Otherwise, I won't be back. One other random note, you can order their food and pastries through UberEats. However UberEats notes the business as "Black-owned". I don't actually think that's true (need to research further). Really hoping Maison Marcel isn't hiding behind Black communities for some sort of twisted clout.

Yelp
Had brunch here because friend suggested this place because it looked cute in photos . I was a little Hesitant to go after reading the reviews mostly complaining about the service . I even suggested a different place near the area after calling the place a couple times to try to find out if we needed reservations (they never answered / it's first come first served ). The service could be better but it wasn't the worst either , the food didn't take long to come out as stated in another reviews , but we were served at different times instead of bringing all the plates at once (we were a group of 8 , maybe they're not used to big groups ?) that definitely didn't bother us , but I can see that being an issue for some people . In my opinion food was good, I loved my croque madame and the Nutella crepe, another person in the group said the burger was fantastic . I was told the breakfast plate , omelette and ratatouille were not great . Everyone loved the mimosas and margaritas . I ordered a chai tea + bourbon cocktail and it was delicious too . Besides the beautiful furniture and decor they play cool music too . Didn't feel the french vibe but reminded me to a cafe I would find in tulum. Definitely felt I was on vacation !

Yelp
Maison Marcel is one of my favorite spots in the area. It's always a hit when bringing visitors or solo during the weekdays. The interior is decorated so cute and their iced Nutella Latte is something I find myself craving often. I can't say I recommend sitting outside, as your options are either the busy pedestrian sidewalk or facing the dirt parking lot which neighbors the restaurant, but I definitely recommend dining inside. The first time I went, service was on the slow side since it was a Saturday morning and the place was packed. It took up to an hour to be seated and any coffee beverages took a while because there was only 1 barista, but the staff was apologetic and transparent about these wait times. The next time I went was a weekday so I ordered my meal at the counter and sat at the large communal table. It was nearby an outlet so I could complete my work while munching on a yummy brunch. On my two trips I ordered the Organic Croque Monsieur and the Eggs Benedict. While eggs benedict is usually my brunch order of choice, I can't say this was my favorite. This classic breakfast on their brioche bread was an interesting pairing. The croque monsieur, however, is something I'd definitely order again!

Yelp
Oh my goodness I LOVE this place!!! All of the food tastes incredibly authentic and the aesthetic inside is gorgeous! After returning back from Italy, my parents said this was the most authentic baguettes they've had in the US! Definitely a must try, it won't disappoint! The french breakfast is filled with copious amounts of different types of bread! Soooo good! Service is a little slower, however with how authentic each dish is, it's worth the wait:)

Yelp
Unfortunately, this place is dead to me now and I will not be going back if I can help it. Here's the thing: their service has always been somewhat of a hit or miss, but today... today was a huge miss. We ordered our French Breakfast and asked for our eggs to be a little on the runnier side like we often do. The place wasn't very busy but it took about 25 minutes for our two French Breakfasts to be brought out. The breads were toasted to perfection, but eggs were cold, hard, and rubbery... We didn't want to send it back and wait another 25 min so we just left disappointed instead.

Yelp
I have very mixed feelings about this place. I think certain dishes are really good and worth the price but others are not. As for service, there's not much you can really judge because you simply order at the counter and they bring the food to you. No one really waits on you which is fine with me. I had the avocado toast was not great. It was just very bland and I think I could've made something better at home. I did really like the Ratatouille though. This was something that I hadn't planned on ordering but once I saw someone else eating it I knew I had to have it. It was soooo good and had so much flavor. But overall i think this restaurant is overpriced and you're better off going somewhere else with better food.

Yelp
I loved the ambience walking in surrounded by plants and eclectic people. The food was delicious, we got the omelet with turkey bacon and a chocolate almond croissant. We came here initially for the croissants and I was definitely not disappointed. The buttery flakey crust with a chocolate almond filling was PERFECT. I will say the coffee was not the best quality. We also didn't have great service with our server ignoring us a few times. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt because they were extremely busy and understaffed. I would definitely go again for the croissants and ambiance!

Yelp
TRANSPORTED TO FRANCE This place can't be any dreamier with the foliage.. cozy nooks.. tables that seat a whole family.. and cute comfortable benches.. Such a cute place for a cup of coffee. There's also food here and I heard the macaroons are delectable but I didn't get a chance to try it. I ordered the smoked salmon toast, can never go wrong. It was a huge portion so def sharable. And it comes with salad too. Their balsamic vinaigrette was yummy. My friend loved his açaí bowl. I forgot what my other friends ordered but they all enjoyed their coffee and food. If you're ever in the neighborhood, def recommend to stop by this coffee shop.

Yelp
Very pretty boho exterior and interior -- creates a cozy cafe atmosphere. A bit overpriced in my opinion. I ordered the ratatouille for $17 and it was good, but nothing special. Would be open to trying some pastries from the bakery rather than sit down for breakfast. There's a section for people to do work (Wi-Fi provided), so if you're looking for a change of scenery, this cafe is a cute spot!

Yelp
J'ADORE Maison Marcel! Seriously though, I love the decor, the PASTRIES, and the atmosphere! I came in on a Saturday morning, and the place was bustling! We were still able to get a table as soon as we walked in though! We got our menus and browsed through. I got a turkey eggs benedict, and our table got mimosas as well! I was impressed with the service. Our server was a lovely lady, and she kept checking on us! We didn't even wait that long for food even though it was a weekend morning. MON DIEU. The eggs benedict I had was DELIGHTFUL! The brioche was so soft, and the hollandaise was rightfully seasoned. The eggs were perfect! My friends had the quiche and the crepes, and they also raved about it! We wanted to try their pastries, so we got pain au chocolat and some croissants to go. WE WENT TO PASTRY HEAVEN FOR REAL. Love this place and so glad it's in the neighborhood! Stop by if you're ever in the Lakeview area!

Yelp
The ambiance of the place was cute with the decorations. We were seated fast but the space was a little crowded. The food took a while but could have been due to busyness. The coffee was okay but the chicken hamburger was very good!

Yelp
This is the real deal! Bread, croissants, and pain au chocolat exactly as you would get them in Paris! Even the slowness of the service is authentic! Nice inside, but also an excellent sidewalk dining area. Order at the counter, they bring it out. The French Breakfast is a great way to go, as you get two eggs, any style, plus a bakery assortment of bread, croissant, and pain au chocolat, five in all. Probably enough for two to share if one of them isn't me!
