I get the best coffee at Mazie’s! And they have affordable food options for students needing a quick bite.

Definitely worth a stop. I had a ham, pear, and Brie sandwich that I loved. Also, every day features a limited selection from two or three local places you may not have been to (or heard of) so the adventure factor is pretty high. Plus, the League is just nice, and a good quiet place to study.

Some of the people here are great, but the coffee here and at all the other umich cafes is so mediocre. There was a really rude guy, I think he was the manager, who said an iced americano isn't a thing... Then proceeded to talk about how done he is with people after the person who ordered it walked away. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. I'm also just genuinely tired of cafes that don't know anything about coffee.

Pretty good food. When the selections,* your appetite wants/needs are available. It's mostly ladies helping you..Most of them are nice. Some of that male managers hover over, staring right at you. Kind of gives me a hurry up feeling...

The hours of operation are not respected. According to the web, in spring/summer 2022 it opens from 8am-2pm. I went today before 2pm, and the kitchen was closed. Two days ago, the area was closed with the wrought-iron gate, also before 2pm. I know it's summer time, and no many people go there, but not everybody can grab food 1 hour before closing, and the hours of operation should be respected. Also, the coffee sometimes is cold. Very poor service. I wish there were more options around campus. (7/7/2022) - 1:30pm Kitchen was closed. No food on shelves. (7/8/2022) - 1:20pm Kitchen was closed. No food on shelves.

Dining services in the Michigan League, with a variety of food options. Check out some of the featured local restaurants at the Local Plate counter. Convenient to central campus. Good options, but I be seating gets crowded. Check out the additional seating in the basement area.

Yelp
Maizie's is a great spot to study and get some work done and also has some good food options. I have tried almost every flatbread at Maizie's and my favorite is the chicken bacon ranch but I also like the margherita pesto. They change out the hot food entree and sides depending on the day and I really loved the Swedish meatballs, fries, mashed potatoes and gravy but they also have other options like soy noodles and fried rice. They also have a section where local restaurants rotate out depending on the day of the week and they also have cold options like hummus and sushi. You can also get coffee and juices at Maizie's. I'm usually a soda person but I enjoyed their mango smoothie which was very thick and mango-y. You can pay using your dining dollars if you are a University of Michigan student. The main reason I like going to Maizie's is it is conveniently located in the Michigan League. There is also plenty of nice seating, and you can stay a while to be productive.

Yelp
Great from scratch entrees and sides. Friendly staff and good prices. Lots of seating and is within the historic Michigan League building.

Yelp
Maizie's is a great study spot! I specifically love the sunroom in the front (the big grey chairs are SO comfy). The food is also great because there is so much variety. They have grab and go, a cafe, and local plate every day. Another plus is you can use you student blue bucks! Some workers are students as well which makes for an overall great environment to be in.

Yelp
Maizie's might tAke some time to grow on me. Located where Beansters used to be in The Michigan League, Maizie's is how the primary (only?) choice for good at The League. Perhaps I'm old-school here, but the decor of Maizie's is completely incongruent with The Michigan League, a beautiful, historic building on the University of Michigan campus. The ambiance is my main problem with this place. Gone is the cozy feel and the warm colors and wood. In its place - a daylight-bright space with a cool color palette and decidedly less appeal. Says me. ;-) Okay, but you're here to eat you say? Well fine. The breakfast is okay. I ordered oatmeal. It came with blueberries on top (not fresh) and was reasonably priced and well-proportioned. A satisfactory breakfast. There are also quick grab & go options and some limited snacks. I miss the microwave in case you need to warm something up quickly. Also, they no longer put the honey out by the condiments. Now you have to request it at the counter and they don't h e a good small dipping receptacle to put it in. The students seem to like it just fine, but that may be because on-campus food is limited while the Michigan Union is being renovated.

Yelp
I tried the sweet potato thing and the couscous salad. I must say everything is very vinegary and it lacked complex flavor profiles that it stifles my appetite. I don't recommend trying either one of those. Their sandwiches looked good so maybe I will try them next time as one of my friend said they were pretty good.

Yelp
Have tried a couple of items here and the quality isn't spectacular. Breakfast muffin - cheese was a little hardened. Potato salad - way too much mustard. Caprese salad - they gave me probably 2/3 tomatoes and 1/3 mozzarella, with the mozzarella not tasting fresh. Hmm. Also tried the entree with two hot sides. Salmon was cooked fine, but the hot sides were both lukewarm at best. I liked the chicken noodle soup, but it left me very thirsty after (too much salt)! It's a great place to work though. Though power is not available at every table, there are quite a few strategically placed power plugs. Iced water available. Did not see any publicly available microwaves though!

Yelp
There it's always a great selection of different foods to choose from. The service is always friendly, and fast. I enjoy coming to Maizie's for a quick lunch!

Yelp
The renovation of Maizie's looks great! Really modern with lots of seating (of course it's kind of hard to grab a table, but with the union closed, that's not too surprising). The rotating menu featuring the Earthen Jar and other local restaurants offers options of vegans, gluten free diners, etc. It is always clean and there are many condiments, including soy milk, honey, ketchup, and sriracha. Great for a quick cup of coffee or a meal.
