Major Biddle's

We were traveling from Detroit back down to near the Ohio border and decided to make a stop for a meal as we passed by. We’re so happy we did! The employees are fabulous, from being greeted, to our waitress, to the person who brought our meals out, everyone seemed happy to be there and were so friendly. Our meals were wonderful. The prime rib was tender and tasteful. The mac and cheese was creamy with the most tender steak tips on top. Seating was available inside, outside, and in an in between spot. It’s definitely a place we would come back to.

There's a national chain that proclaims they have "the meats," and they're OK, but if you're wanting to go "whole hog," you HAVE to go to Major Biddle's! That's the name of the sandwich (pictured) that I devoured on a recent visit. It features sweet/tangy pulled pork, ham, and bacon on garlic toast bread, and it was ridiculously good (as were the fries). My server, Jessica S., was everything you want in a server: attentive, helpful with menu choices, and bursting with personality. The manager, Brandy, came by to say hello and was also very warm and welcoming. Both ladies couldn't have made my first visit any better. You'll notice I said "first" because it won't be my last. I was Major-ly impressed!

First time here last night. The appetizer we ordered was amazing. The drink had a clean, non-overpowering taste... The service and hospitality was TOP NOTCH!! Did I mention the live music... AWESOME!

Tried this place out for the first time. As soon as we walked in, there was a waiter that was passing through with a huge plate of food on his shoulder. He took the time to assure us that someone would be right with us. That was a really great first impression of this place. In the next few moments, someone was there and seated us in this nice outside seating area. The seating inside is really nice and luxurious as well as the rest of the place. The spinach dip was very good. The bread was amazing, and the cherry bourbon sauce on the ribs was very good. I tried the Columbia Chardonnay, and that was pretty tasty. Their drink menus are really nice. Our server was Garrett, I believe, and he did great with checking on us and making sure that the food tasted good and we had everything that we needed.

A friend of mine suggested this restaurant because he’s native to the area & he knows they have prime rib on the menu & that happens to be one of my favorites. So I had a draft beer & the prime rib w the macaroni & cheese. The prime rib was tender & obviously fresh & it was cooked to my preferred temperature. It’s seemingly impossible to find many restaurants if any that serve prime rib. Luckily this place got everything right. I would certainly suggest this place to anyone planning on ordering the prime rib. The prices were also friendly as was the service.

Our waitress was superb. I think her name was Peach and she was just that! I thought the cauliflower was a little soggy from the hot sauce they put on it. She was super concerned. Later I realized one end of the dish just got more of the buffalo sauce. The other end was crunchy. Maybe allowing the customer to drizzle on the sauce would solve the problem. Everything else about the meal was the high quality that we have come to expect at Major Biddle's. Thank our waitress and give her a raise.

Overall rating: 4.8 I was on a date visiting here that got this place recommended to me. I’ve never visited Michigan before coming from the east coast. So I was a tad nervous. The staff was soo friendly & accommodating. The food portion is very large compared to living in NYC so I wish I ordered something less, but food was great. Highly recommend!

I travel the country and this is on top of the list for good food. Absolutely recommend eating there.
