Major Biddle's

​"Full, but not satisfied" perfectly sums up my visit. While the salad bar deal was a great value that initially sold me, the quality of the cooked food fell short of the appetizing customer photos. The burgers and buns were noticeably dry and a bit hard. We also ordered poutine and fried calamari. The poutine was just acceptable, as it contained too much cheese and not enough gravy for a classic, satisfying dish. The fried calamari was the most interesting item—it was unusually soft on the inside, unlike the typical preparation elsewhere. Ultimately, I kind of wish we tried the steaks.

We when in for a lunch/dinner and I ordered the prime rib and a salad. It was excellent and prepared the way I like it! Wife ordered the Berger and she also enjoyed her meal. Service was awesome and on top with everything. 5 ⭐.

We were traveling from Detroit back down to near the Ohio border and decided to make a stop for a meal as we passed by. We’re so happy we did! The employees are fabulous, from being greeted, to our waitress, to the person who brought our meals out, everyone seemed happy to be there and were so friendly. Our meals were wonderful. The prime rib was tender and tasteful. The mac and cheese was creamy with the most tender steak tips on top. Seating was available inside, outside, and in an in between spot. It’s definitely a place we would come back to.

I would suggest NOT eating a salad of any kind! We watched an employee USE HER BARE HANDS TO GET A SALAD AND ALL THE TOPPINGS!!!!! Even though there are utensils to get all of it. (Photo to show where the salad station is) I do like their food. On of the few places that actually know how to cook a steak. Even the steak restaurants can not get it right.

There's a national chain that proclaims they have "the meats," and they're OK, but if you're wanting to go "whole hog," you HAVE to go to Major Biddle's! That's the name of the sandwich (pictured) that I devoured on a recent visit. It features sweet/tangy pulled pork, ham, and bacon on garlic toast bread, and it was ridiculously good (as were the fries). My server, Jessica S., was everything you want in a server: attentive, helpful with menu choices, and bursting with personality. The manager, Brandy, came by to say hello and was also very warm and welcoming. Both ladies couldn't have made my first visit any better. You'll notice I said "first" because it won't be my last. I was Major-ly impressed!

I’ve eaten here twice with my husband. The first time was pleasant. The second time wasn’t. We chose to dine here for our 20th wedding anniversary. Everything was fine until my husband asked for a different drink because his didn’t taste right. No problem. A simple swap would have worked. Apparently, it didn’t for the waitress because it all went down hill from there. Not only did she put the replacement drink roughly on the table, but dropped a chair right by my husband who has tinnitus. It didn’t help they seated us in a room with two birthday parties happening. Not only did we have to wait for our food, which seemed like it had been left under the warmer, but our waitress barely checked on us and got annoyed with us frequently. You can try to mask your annoyance with people, but they can always tell when you are because there is facial expressions that give it away. It’ll be a while before we return here.

Had the absolute best service! Cannot wait to come back! Food was out of this world. We spoke with a woman named Brandy while there, so friendly and kind. She, i believe was the manager. Great atmosphere. Ill be spreading the word about this place! 10/10

The food was fresh and seriously so good — everything came out perfect. The manager stopped by to check on us which I really appreciated, and our server was so sweet and attentive the whole time. You can tell they really care about their customers. We’ll definitely be back!

The ambiance is very nice and comfy. Our server was Lauren and she was so professional and personable. Our food was delicious, reasonably priced. We are telling our friends about our experience.

Have never had a bad meal from Major Biddles. Mostly always get steak and it is always good no complaints. Service is also very good. Will keep coming back for sure.

Friday dinner. Super nice people except for an errant young hostess who got very aggressive about taking a menu we were saving in order to get a to go order. Not nice about it at all. When you piss my laid back husband off you have definitely gone wayyy wrong. Our server was amazing though. Efficient and Uber friendly. We got our food quickly and piping hot, drink refills before needed. She was charming everyone in the room I think. Everyone seemed in a good mood. The food was nice. We especially likes our Cuban egg roll app. Stuffed full of meat, they had terrific flavor and were filling to boot. Made my husband thank about getting the sandwich next time. He had barbecued shrimp this time. Excellent bbq sauce. His sides of choice were really tasty vodka sauced pasta and just okay cheesy potatoes. I went with the piccata style perch which had great flavor, a perfectly done huge baked potato and a wreck of the loaded up brussels. The Brussels may do it for some but they were a no bueno flavor mess to me. Yikes. When I was nearly finished I got a big old bite of bone in my perch. The manager stopped by and was appropriately concerned, super apologetic. Offered us all kinds of freebies. I assured her it was not necessary. I truly enjoyed my meal there. I was stuffed and satisfied. We took prime rib melts to my parents and they were happy. Overall a nice food night. We will return.

Super slow service for just so so food. I'm a local and live within walking distance which is why this place has such appeal. We could have had a bad day as I've been here before by myself for a martini at the bar? Fantastic. But family dinner was a big miss.

Great food! Best Mac and Cheese !! Chicken tenders are fresh and crunchy!! Staff are very good at what they do. Definitely a place to visit.

Waitress was professional and down to earth, knowledgeable about the menu. The food was surprisingly good, I can't wait to go back! Several items to choose from...whatever you have a taste for they most likely have. The decor and atmosphere was really welcoming!

We finally dined at Major Biddles in Wyandotte. It's a super cute establishment located on Jefferson almost to Southfield Rd. It was cozy, we sat in the bar area. The service was excellent. We ordered a couple appetizers; the meatballs & garlic bread, poutine. Both were amazing! The poutine was served with sidewinder fries, the perfect touch. I chose a wedge salad for dinner with a side of Mac n cheese & jacked up Brussel sprouts. The portions were huge, I had to take most of it home with me. Everything was made to perfection! We chose a lava cake for dessert. Awesome ending. We can't wait to go back!

I have come to this restaurant many times now and I have always had a very nice experience. Normally it's to meet some friends for a drink and app, but on a couple of occasions I have come in for their brunch it has been fantastic. Walking in, there is a great combination of cozy and modern and a lot of room throughout the restaurant. Indoor? Yes. Bar Area? Yes. Covered patio? yes. Outdoor covered patio? Yes. They have it all, you just decide what you want your environment to be. Secondly the staff has always been friendly, accurate and wonderful. As with all restaurants, there is a shortage of staff so food is delivered a bit slower, especially during busy times, but doesn't change the fact they are very attentive. Food and drinks are offered in a wide variety. The menu is quite extensive and even [ribbit] includes [ribbit] frog legs!! I can't remember the last time I saw that on a menu around here. I am a breakfast/brunch guy and I really have enjoyed their offerings. I do wish the Chicken and Waffles actually came with whole fried chicken as opposed pieces, but incorporating the peppers kind of makes up for it. All in all I've always had a great time here and can't imagine it would be anything but.

Tonight 2/28 I dined at my favorite restaurant in Wyandotte. Started with a shareable (Bruschetta) to call this bruschetta is a crime! Cut up dinner rolls with a side dish of salsa. No cheese, no balsamic glaze it certainly was severely underwhelming. I would never recommend this! For dinner... we placed our order at 7:40pm when my dining partner arrived. We were served at 8:35!!! A small salad and a weekend special of Marry Me chicken. Yes it was a little busy however tables that sat after us turned over and the new customers were eating! The chicken was ok nothing special and the salad well it's a salad. Probably the worst service I've ever had here. I'll be back but if this happens again I'll look elsewhere and stop recommending Major Biddle.

Went for dinner with family and enjoyed the huge pretzel for an appetizer. Definitely was enough for 4 of us and we got a side of spicy cheese and another side of regular cheese. Also ordered the BBQ Cuban wrap which I thought was too overpowering with BBQ and a bit messy but still not bad. The server was helpful although our drinks took a while at the beginning. The restaurant was a little on the loud side to catch up with family but all and all decent options on the menu. Would try something else next time but can't go wrong with the pretzel!

Great food and service. The atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. The waitress was very helpful and fast. Our food was hot and tasty. There ribs were awesome but so we're other items in there menu.

Not Bad but... I stopped into Major Biddles while in the area for business and looking for a good place to eat. This Local Spot for American Traditional, BBQ and Seafood, had good reviews so I decided to give it shot. I went in and started walking around looking for a place to eat and taking some photos of the place. I was accosted by one of the managers who wondered why I was walking around taking pictures. After a short chat and explaining that I was a food blogger and Yelp Elite, we then had a nice conversation about the place and the food. I sat in the bar area and decided on a couple of appetizers and then the Perch Piccata for my main course. Hot rolls came out first and they were very fresh and delicious. I started my meal off with the tender and juicy Cajun Steak tips made with tenderloin tips, mushrooms, and cajun zip and served with pita bread. I was just starting to enjoy my steak tips when the Piccata and my second app, the Jacked-up Sprouts came out pretty much all at the same time. Suddenly I was inundated with food with no break or pause between everything I ordered. This was a 'Major' timing issue as I had a massive amount of food all served at once. I was able to try a little of everything before I got full. My server asked me if I wanted to reheat my Piccata but that would have just made it mushy and unappetizing. When a diner comes in alone and tells the staff they are in no rush, it's simple, just fire the next course when they are done with the one before it. On this visit, it was simply a timing issue which threw me off. I liked the place and food overall, but one star was lost due to how the food was served. I would go back again if not just to try the barbecue which I saw many of the guests ordering. Hopefully, they get the timing right next time.

Major biddle has an amazing atmosphere, everyone that worked there was extremely nice. My waitress was very knowledgeable on the menu. The food was pretty good overall it was a certain taste in the Caesar wrap I didn't care for I couldn't figure out what exactly it was but it was still eatable. My guest enjoyed his meal, the steak tips were good and had good temperature and texture. Overall I want to go back to try more of their food they do have a large selection of food and they also serve brunch on the weekends I want to try that. But check them out whenever in the downriver area.

Food was out fairly quickly for a busy Saturday night. We had the filet mignon and philly wrap, both delicious. Jessica, our server, was INCREDIBLE!

Took my kids and my aunt here for dinner. Great service, delicious food, nice price point. Overall great experience and we will definitely be back!

The food was excellent one of our party had fish tacos very tasty came with coleslaw very tasty The salad bar is excellent all fresh ingredients. The prime rib sandwich was very good and tasty. The pub chips are excellent. The service ha always been excellent one of the best restaurants in Wyandotte.

The setting in this restaurant is pretty cool. It's nice and warm and the booths give you a little privacy. Two appetizers I recommend is their sample platter which had the Cuban egg rolls. The other is the calamari if you other these 2 together it will fill you up. Definitely try the apple pie skilled that was so bad. That is all. Chief Some days will be harder than others.

The food here is amazing! It was our first time and we stopped in for brunch. The Bloody Mary was unreal and they have a great selection of beer. I highly recommend the Mac n cheese, but everything looked delicious on the menu.

The service was good, but the chicken was dry and burnt. They were nice about it and removed it from my order. However, they forgot to give me a box when I asked for one, and there were flies flying around.

Cute restaurant. They have a lovely patio when the weather is nice. I love that they have a large menu. Something for everyone. My favorite item on the menu is the Michigan cherry salad with grilled chicken. Service is always good and friendly.

Vast food variety so difficult to choose. Our dinners were both fabulous as well as the atmosphere! Our waiter, Jonas, was very attentive to our needs. Highly recommended to anyone looking for fabulous food celebrating any occasion or just to enjoy a great meal!! Enjoy!

Stopped in with a group of people during lunch. I had the 3 shrimp tacos and fries. Good service. Very tasty food and good presentation.

We went to brunch here Sunday. The interior is modern , cozy and amazing I loved the high booths they gave us privacy. The color and decor are soothing. It he food was good but not mind blowing. A step above Applebees and with more Original creative choices. A decent spot for downriver.

Stopped in on a Thursday evening to try Major Biddle's. We were very happy with our service and the food! Abigail was a fantastic server! I had the blackened catfish which was excellent; good heat and great flavor. Side of balsamic Brussel sprouts were very good as well. Wife had the Greek chicken and loved it. Good drinks with a good selection of beer and spirits. Will definitely try again.

Foods always great, Service is always on point. Can't beat it. Can get crowed and have long wait times due to its size but that's it's only drawback.

Ambiance was cool. I like the layout, how there are different areas. Service starts upon entry. I stood at the "front counter" for about 5 minutes. A young lady walked out of the kitchen, passed me while on the phone. I'm not saying it was a personal call, but if you're working and see me standing there, at the very least, stop to acknowledge me and say someone will be with me in a moment. Especially if you know you're going to be my waitress; develop even a bit of a rapport. She was cool during the service; I just think in general, customer service nowadays is missing a few things and not acknowledging customers is one of them. My meal was disappointing. I had the sesame chicken rice "bowl" and because of a craving, mashed potatoes & gravy. I ate maybe 20% of my meal. I've never eaten so little of my meal at a restaurant. The potatoes weren't as soft as I expected and the gravy had a thinner than desired consistency, with a lemon flavor! I've never tasted a lemon-flavored gravy, and surely didn't expect it from a brown gravy. The entree wasn't what I expected. I was thinking more of a stir-fry presentation. The chicken appeared to be 3 halves of boneless chicken breasts, instead of the bite-size pieces I expected. It tasted straight out of frozen dinner. The rice appeared to be long-grain rice instead of the typical white or brown I expected; it was also watery. There was water under it like it had just been spooned out of a pot of water without being drained enough. The broccoli wasn't all that flavorful; I would've liked a touch of lemon for that. I'm on the fence about returning. If I do, it'll be for seemingly safer, like fish 'n chips or for breakfast.

Great food and great service. We had my son 23rd birthday there and it was outstanding. Very nice inside and very comfortable seating. Our server she was great. She handle a pretty of 9 with easy. The food was great for all. I had the Shrimp Jambalaya highly recommend that. The shrimp was nice and big. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We will be back and go try it. Very great place to eat.

We live out of town now but I grew up in Wyandotte and every time we are in town we always make a point to come here. Wide variety. Good food. Service was alright. Good beer selection. Always leave satisfied

Decent spot for drinks and food. Service is always mediocre, slow, takes a while for food to come out or to get your bill. Love the Buffalo Cauliflower appetizer and giant pretzel. Cauliflower is crispy and well coated with sauce. Not sure if it's homemade or frozen, but regardless, it's good! Great for sharing and portions are big. Menu is huge, too huge in my opinion, but lots of options. Good lunch buffet as well.

My kids swear they have the best French fries. Seasoned spiral cut fries are super tasty but it's always their specials that I'm impressed by. They often have themed specials for holidays, fantastic brunch and may be the last place on earth still serving a buffet multiple times a week. (I don't do the buffet bit, but it's always busy!) Fajitas are terrific and my favorite is their wedge salad... sounds simple but they really do it right! Outdoor seating in the summer and decent sized booths for bigger families like ours.

They have an excellant wait staff. So kind and friendly. There food is to die for. My husband loves the ribs. Fall off the bone good. I always get the chicken tenders and fries. Best tenders around for a restaurant. The outside patio is very nice. I enjoy inside dining. Its very calming and comfortable. Would highly recommend trying Major Biddle s to all.

Sidewinder Fries are fantastic. Eggs Benedict were very good for brunch. Help very friendly and professional.

The food is ok. The staff is not well trained and unprofessional. But the thing that bothered me most is that there were a lot of flies in the restaurant. We had to keep swatting them away from our food. They were also landing on the food on the salad bar. I cannot go back there until they make some changes.

Food was delicious and substantial portions. I had fish and chip, which was difficult to choose from such an extensive menu. Very impressive. Though crowed on a Saturday eve, we were served out meal within reasonable time. Waitress, Dee, very friendly and upbeat. Our first time there and will definitely return. Menu went from sandwiches to entrees and from ribs to sea food to burgers. Many side dishes to choose from. Decor done up in Halloween and very very welcoming staff. Offers outside dining. Parking a bit congested due to 2 small parking lots and also parking g on street. It was worth it.

This restaurant was recommended by my brother and didn't disappoint. The food portions were a good size with many of us needing to go boxes. I did make a reservation for a group of 10 and I would recommend making one for a large group. Our server was excellent and didn't rush us and we lingered a little bit after dinner and one of the other servers took our family picture since we only see us all together about every 5 years. Thank you so much to Major Biddle's for this wonderful experience, and if we ever back in this area we will visit again. Highly recommend!

Check prices before you order. Food was ok. Don't think I'll be back. This was Saint Pattys Day special.

So Happy the Lunch Wagon has returned after 2 Plus year's. Really a great price for this marvelous Xtreme Salad Bar OMG fantastic best around town. Candied Walnuts, Cherry Peppers,six Cheese's, Thick Blu Cheese dressing and much more. M-F only 11-2pm menu different each day must see Facebook page. Today last Friday was Chef's choice. Had 6 choices all you want, Chicken Melody, Beef Stew, Chicken Mac. WOWSA the Shrimp Paella (pronounced Pie-A-Ya) is a classic Spanish dish filled with rice, veggies, spices. I never had this went back for more a instant Addiction. Good food. Friendly but slow service. Took over an hour for our meal to be served. Noisy.

Food was great. Service with Dee was awesome! We had a large group and she was super accommodating, drinks were always full and food came out quick! She even helped us serve birthday desserts which was super kind of her. Large portions and a great value. We will be back!

Excellent chicken Marsala w/gravy and noodles a side of garlic bread and my husband had the John Jameson hamburger which was pure perfection with a side of amazing fries! Service was good~~ our waitress was alley who was on point with giving us space yet checking on us to keep our beverages full! Thank you for a good meal in a beautiful atmosphere !

I think we've been here 3 times now, and this last visit for me was the best and it was indeed a good experience. We arrived early evening late afternoon and the place was, as usual busy but not packed. The inside atmosphere is cozy and warm with decent decor. They have a great whiskey selection and even though the bar has a lot of chairs close together we got two and were comfortable. They have a good draft selection and mix good drinks. I enjoyed a 420 ale served cold and a Kentucky mule that was serviceable. My girlfriend had long islands and liked them. The food? It was very good. I had prime rib sandwich with brussel sprouts that were roasted with a balsmic vinagrette and this might be my new favorite thing. The sandwich was good with horseradish sauce and au jus for dipping - delicious. My girlfriend got the perch dinner and got 7 decent size pieces of fish. I liked her fries, they're a little more like steak fries. It was all very good and the service was great. It's a little on the pricier side but not bad. I recommend the place and we'll be back.

Service this past Sunday was AWFUL!! The waitress was short and rude. We waited for our food 1hr and 45 minutes and was told that she did not have time for concerns or questions... she had a "tabletop"of 20 and was too busy, and they had some call offs that morning etc... This is the 2nd time that the server/waitress was nasty and rude. We also observed others complaining of wait time, cold food and service. Well needless to say I will not be giving them another "Brunch" option. The star is for the manager...

We came here to drink and have some dinner. Luckily we got a table for all 8 of us. The server was very cool as our party was not all at the table. She was very accommodating. She was very attentive. The menu here has so much and literally can find something on the menu that you would like. However, the food my husband and I had order were not all that great. The food that came out was mediocre. I gave them 3 star for the service they provide and not the food they serve.

Have been here twice since initial visit. Initial visit he service sucked but the food was good... still too many menu options of so many different varieties. Last time sat at the bar - great service and food. Went in this evening and sat on bar side again... waitress seemed very preoccupied (wrong beer orders, unsure of our food orders and had to come back, asked to cash out so she could leave, saw her have issues with several peoples change saying "she lost $5") and had on a dirty uniform... food was delicious but restaurant smelled like fish this evening... there were a lot of fish items on the menu but unappealing smell in the restaurant. Hope they can improve because the food and drinks are good!!

The food is good. I consider their sister company Truago a better version of this place. It is located in Trenton.
