Makai Cafe

GREAT BLT! I was dropped off here with family during a jet boat tour excursion and decided to dine-in as it’s the closest eatery inside the Island Mall to the London Bridge dock. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food at this restaurant. The crispy bacon inside my BLT was to die for and the sandwich was overall very tasty. The sweet potato fries were also yummy, but I was severely disappointed when they only placed four waffle fries on my plate. It’s restaurant 101, you need to have proper portions. Our waiting service left much to be desired, our waitress didn’t really check on us and seemed a little standoffish. It felt like she was looking into my soul at some points, I’m not sure what her intentions were. The younger staff were super nice and really hardworking! I need to give a major shoutout to them for taking their job seriously. I wish we could’ve gotten one of the younger staff members, they had great customer service from what I could tell. Overall, I really liked the tiki aesthetic and Hawaiian decor at Makai. I think I’d give it another try when I visit Havasu again, however I’d come at a different time and order something else like breakfast.

Great place for lunch and awesome views! We took the boat tour from Laughlin,Nv. to see Lake Havasu and the London Bridge. stopped in to Makai Cafe for lunch. The service was great and the food was fantastic! We got a seat right away and had a great time hanging out. they have a good selection of adult beverages and good food. They had good music playing while we were there, but at a decent volume, so we could still hear each other. It was a beautiful day and we loved watching the boats, people and taking in the great London Bridge views.

First time here. Cute little place with an awesome view. The service was good, the waiter, Carol was nice. I had the Croissant Breakfast Sandwich. It was delicious, the bread was really soft and crispy at the same time. Every ingredient in the croissant gave it such a good taste, especially the avocado The Buffalo salad my friend had was also delicious

The Makai Cafe is a hidden gem in the shadow of the London bridge here in Lake Havasu city! Excellent food, friendly staff and a great value! We had the oatmeal with strawberries, raisins and bananas. French toast and breakfast tacos. This wonderful Cafe also makes their own Maple syrup. It is fantastic! Five stars for this great cafe'!

First time here, indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of parking available. Right on the water at the bridge, great views from the patio. Very clean restaurant, very casual, pet friendly. Lots of dogs on the patio. Greasy burger joint bug food breakfast food! Highly recommend and will return. Very reasonable prices and large portions. Friendly service as well.

The food was delicious, abundant and HOT! Loved it! Everyone was very friendly and such good service! The biscuits and gravy surpassed my long held favorite in Illinois! Highly recommend!

I honestly love this place! The food portions are always huge. I've always come for breakfast or brunch and they never disappoint! My new favorite is the croissant breakfast sandwich. Definitely choose the home fries instead of the hashbrowns if you're looking for homemade deliciousness! Also choose the sausage patties instead of the bacon for huge patties with delicious flavor! PS you'll have a beautiful view of the London Bridge, a little waterfall, and a lot of beautiful green grass!

Food was super tasty- standard breakfast needs exceeded. The cinnamon roll looked amazing.

I love the coffee at this café. The flavors are well balanced, and the texture is so creamy and satisfying. It is the kind of coffee that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment.

We found a cool restaurant in Lake Havasu. Makai Cafe was authentic and charming. Optional eating inside or outside by the lake. Really good food . And that oatmeal was awesome. Super big sausage patties that tasted amazing. I could see us coming back here. Service was good.

The food is always very good. I go for lunch, but I hear breakfast is good too. Staff is excellent and I love eating outside (though they do have indoor seating). It's right at the London Bridge so the view is awesome.

Was very happy with our breakfast service we had this morning. Staff were attentive, coffee was hot, food was fresh (especially the avocado) and was reasonably priced. Plus the view was amazing! Would definitely recommend!

We have eaten here several times. Today we had a sweet girl for a server (receipt said Jonni). Had the salmon eggs Benedict, 2 bowls of cereal and chili verde omelet. Food was great. Happy kids. Happy Mama. Always clean.

I used to be a server at a breakfast place ,so I do know how busy it gets on Sundays ,but even though the service was extremely good .My server Ciera was very helpful and sweet . But now ,let's talk about the fact that I had the BEST PANCAKES I've ever tried ,with a side of scramble eggs and turkey bacon ,absolutely amazing . Once I got the bill realized that this place is super affordable too. Marked as favorites for next season 100/10

Not great. We've been to every breakfast place in Havasu and this was bottom of the barrel. $45 for breakfast. Same breakfast at a local hole in the wall was $30. We came in on a weekend - 2 hours before closing and received mediocre service even though only 4 tables were seated. Our waitress walked by every customer without stopping to take our order or even look our direction. We were seated for 15 minutes before she stopped. The employees seemed to be more concerned with cleaning up and tipping out than taking new orders. I ordered the country breakfast and most everything about it was disappointing. The eggs however were cooked perfectly but the mysterious grease on the plate from the gravy made them almost inedible. I don't know if this is the way the gravy usually is but it was almost curdled. The gravy was sweet, very little flavor and needed pepper and salt - it also had way too much rosemary for my liking. Biscuits were dry and hash was not cooked throughly. Please Chefs - taste the food you are making - this gravy i would not serve to anyone. The authentic "chilaquiles"'was on a bed of overdone chips with barely any sauce. Originally when they were brought out i thought it was nachos!? It was dry and lacking flavor. My husband ate half then tossed the rest. Bloody Mary lacked everything including vodka. Celery was old, olive was rancid and they put table salt around the rim. Yuck. Unfortunately we will probably never be back. We will stick to our local mom and pop eateries which are consistent and service is on par. It's too bad because i really wanted to like this place.

I want to give our server, Lilly , Orchids! She was so pleasant, and funny and it appeared so obvious, that she loves her job. Thanks , Lilly, for such an enjoyable lunch.

The foods I've tried are delicious. Oh and the milk shakes are great. The servers are friendly and sweet. It's nice to go enjoy

Great views, friendly service, good food and drinks. What more can you ask for? Oh yes, its one of the few dog friendly places around. There aren't a lot. They even bring out a big bowl of water for your pooch. We went when it wasn't too busy so we got a seat with an umbrella. But there are several tables on the patio without shade. So consider this when you plan your trip. We ordered steak and eggs and salmon bene. Both with hashbrown casserole. I dare you to ever turn that one down. Portions are just enough. Although after having the bloody, I felt pretty full. Also had a morning glory for the first time. Yum! It won't be the last. Its a great place to start your fun filled day. I'd definitely recommend.

I just had breakfast at this restaurant, the outdoor patio has a fantastic view of the Lake, the service is great, my server Laura was very pleasant. I had a BLT with Tater tot's which were perfectly fried! And a Morning glory. Overall a great start of the morning. I definitely will be returning with my family.

Very Good food- had eggs Benedict delicious.( chorizo style with a hollandaise chipotle sauce ) Hubby had chilaquiles con Chile Verde and an egg on top. Fantastic bloody Mary's and dog friendly patio with a nice view of London bridge. We will be back soon. Only breakfast and lunch served.

Island feel breakfast near the water. The cafe is busy and feels alive. Food is great. Try the Benedict's. Fruit is fresh and they have outdoor and indoor seating. Colorful charm and a nice way to show off your tiki's.

This place was highly recommended to me and I'm glad I went with the suggestion ! It sits right next to the London Bridge off the lake . You can get some great pictures here ! The cafe is small and no frills but the service and food speaks for itself ! Food portions are large and extremely tasty no need for salt and pepper as they season it well !!! I ordered the chicken fried steak , it came smothered in some of the tastiest gravy I've eaten in awhile . I had two eggs , breakfast potatoes and sour dough toast , only thing lacking was I never received any jelly but honestly I didn't need any !! My water cup was kept full and my entire table (7 of us) were all happy with our food ! There were no complaints! There are 3 sections to the restaurant- 2 sections inside , or you can choose to eat outside while enjoying the lake view . This place also is near a shopping mall so you can shop after eating . Price wise I think it's reasonable $12-19 for an entree . I definitely recommend this place !!! I will be back .

My first time here and I can't wait to go back! The food was delicious, the restaurant was clean, and the service was great! The outside seating was also clean, and the views were beautiful. The prices were reasonable for all of the above reasons. A definite gem in Havasu.

Breakfast was outstanding! Packed inside though and their patio really needs shade. We had to sit outside and got overheated. The metal Umbrellas don't offer any sort of shade on their patio. Think about putting up shade cloths and misters for the warm Weather.

Good, not great, breakfast on the island at Lake Havasu. Excellent location on The Channel next to London Bridge. Good menu selection is complemented by friendly service and comfortable surroundings. My omelet was huge and tasty, but was filled with American cheese as opposed to the cheddar that I requested. My wife's eggs were cooked perfectly and the 2 sausage patties were generous. The 'Potatoes O'Brien' were an afterthought though, being nothing more than deep-fried frozen potatoes with just a hint of sautéed green pepper and onion. Real Potatoes O'Brien or good hash browns would have warranted 4 stars. I'd go back if I ever get back to Lake Havasu.

Beat breakfast and lunch cafe in town.had the pull pork omelette very good at a good price.The staff is very friendly and nice. My go to place for breakfast in town.

So good we went back twice! Tremendous location with views from the outdoor patio overlooking the channel, the London Bridge and the mountains in the distance. My wife liked the AZ Sandwich so much, she got it both times with a bagel instead with a side of jalapeno cream cheese. I got the Billy Jack Scramble day one and it was pretty good and was quite a bit of food. I tried the Chicken Fried Steak on the second visit and it was top notch! Again, it was a lot of food so we walked around a bit to a couple of the shops to make me feel better about myself. LOL! Service was quick even on a bit of chilly mornings it was great after the sun crept over the bridge.

I was surprised about this one. Although I always expect breakfast to be decent and should be the easiest meal for a restaurant to make, the food here exceeded my expectations. Maybe it is because I ordered the corn beef hash, something I haven't had in decades, and found it to be so flavorful alongside two eggs over easy and proper sourdough toast. I would give it five stars if the coffee hit the mark but like most restaurants the standard brew is usually in my opinion just ok. I look forward to returning and maybe try something else but that cbh will be hard to pass up!

On a visit to Lake Havasu, we decided to try Makai Cafe for breakfast as they had patio sitting and we had our two dogs. We grabbed some coffee and I ordered eggs Benedict and my husband ordered the strawberry cheesecake plate. We were not expecting the food to be so delicious. We have been to many breakfast places and this is by far one of the yummiest places we have visited. The syrup they make for their pancakes was absolutely amazing. Can't wait to visit this place again! The service was great as well , and can't beat the view of the river.

Near the London Bridge there are Shugrue's, Barley Borthers, and Javalina Cantina for dinner. On Friday and Saturday night, however, none of those places take reservations so the wait is about 45mins - 1 hour. I believe they are owned by the same group but I could be wrong. Anyway we wanted to do the Tourist thing and eat near the London Bridge. We went to Makai Cafe for breakfast because of the long waits at night for dinner. The breakfast burrito was huge (see photo). The salsa was not too spicy. Banana nut french toast came with eggs and bacon. Very good but I would get the syrup on the side (see photo). Little too much sweetness, Strawberry cheesecake pancakes were great. Good view of the bridge with inside and outside seating. Parking lot adjacent to the restaurants. Clean bathroom but only one.

I walk by this spot several times a week while I'm walking my dog BuddyG. This time I decided to stop and I'm glad we did. I had to use the restroom but had my dog along so the server told me she would watch him while I did. BuddyG behaved. Was seated and quickly brought a bowl of water for BuddyG - w/ ice cubes which is Buddy's favorite. I ordered the Green Chile Omelette and added spinach. Coffee was good. Better than I thought it would be. The omelet was American Style - which is an egg pancake folded over - the filling was exceptionally tender and delicious! Seriously tasty!! The potatoes were crisp and well seasoned. The toast - barely toasted - was warm enough. I didn't say anything because it really isn't a big deal. Next time I come here - and I'm guessing there will be many more "next times" I will ask them to toast the bread a little longer. The atmosphere is relaxing. The patio is clean. The bathroom was clean. The staff was polite and accommodating. I am looking forward to the next grub session as I saw a few things I want to taste. If you get a chance and you're near the bridge - and it's before 2pm - you should stop by this grub spot. You won't be disappointed. CWG "Get out and GRUBB!!"

The service was great. Servers were attentive and pleasant. The food was outstanding! Patty melt was on perfectly grilled bread and half pound Angus patty. My wife had the Buffalo chicken salad which she thoroughly enjoyed.

My husband and I absolutely love this restaurant. The omelettes and potatoes are delicious. All the food that comes out looks great. All of the staff and servers are very friendly and welcoming. The service is fantastic. It is a very cute place with a view of the London Bridge.

Ciera it's the most Impressive server and customer service provider I've ever seen! Speaking from past experience, this beautiful young woman chooses to not only serve others well-but with professionalism and acumen above and beyond! Please enjoy the wonderful experience and treat her as she deserved! Kindness from her heart radiates! She's an incredible example for All!!!! The food is always amazing-excellent people like Ciera making it an actual meal worth remembering!

While I have eaten at Makai's several times, today was especially good. The service, as always was attentive and professional. While I usually order the same thing every time I go there, this time I ordered the Pork Green Chili omelette. It was fantastic. The green chili was absolutely wonderful and had great flavor. The pork was plentiful but not overbearing. The O'Brien potatoes were crispy and cooked to perfection. Overall, another great breakfast from Makai's.

The food tastes really good here. Lots of choices on the menu. We had a little bit of a wait but it was worth it. The server was kind and it was a homey feel. As you walk in there are tables and a bar as well as a separate room to sit in. We will be back!

We eat here once a year at our annual Havasu trip. Never fails! Great food and everyone is super nice. Property is re doing the landscaping so it's not easy to get to if you boat in. Definitely recommend

We were seated at 11:40am. Before even asking for anything, A rude waiter slammed waters on our table. Finally 12 mins later 11:52 we were asked if we were ready to order or get some drinks. Another group just got sat down and they IMMEDIATELY got helped. Food was okay. Cream cheese tasted like it had been sitting out in the sun for days. I wish we would've gotten their names.

Great service. Loved being able to have a wonderful brunch with our family. So many options for lunch and breakfast and a great view.

Food is consistently good and the view is the best with a perfect view of the channel and London Bridge. Restaurant is dog friendly and they always deliver a water bowl for your dog.
