Google
So happy for another excellent restaurant by the owners of Smack Noodle. This place is bigger, has a bar, and is beautifully designed. Their food is always perfect and comes out so quickly. The peanut curry sauce with roti was insanely delicious. All of the sauces/small salads that come with each dish are unique and thoughtful. Everything was excellent- can’t wait to go back and try other menu items!

Google
Everything was delicious, staff was very friendly, food came out on time. The fried chicken, grilled pork, and grilled chicken were excellent. Their grill flavor is 10/10. Nice clean new feel to the interior and interesting hand painted mural artwork on the wall. All around good place!

I ordered online and picked up right as the restaurant opened. I ordered the Sen Lek Kii Mao and the Spicy Chicken Gyoza. I also sampled (from my companion's order) Roti Peanut Curry. The food was excellent. It was spicy and flavorful and the portions were perfect. The Roti Peanut Curry is like Asian Fusion Nachos. If you like peanut sauce, this is really worth trying, it is so good. I had the grilled pork on my Kii Mao and it was really, really tasty. If you like Gyoza, these are also excellent. I was so glad to finally try this place. It is definitely a must try if you like Asian fusion and are in the area!

We love smack noodles and now that Makiin is in town we get to enjoy double the pleasure and cuisine in Maynard. Natt and the chef and staff are awesome and as usual- always kind and accommodating. My son loves to dine out and he gave this restaurant five stars. The atmosphere was spacious, clean and has a nice decorative decor. The service was amazing as usual- Natt is one of my fav ppl in MA! I love Kra Pao, so I love how they turned up the heat on my dish and the flavor from the dish was just perfect- the spice and culmination of the vegetables and protein was in perfect harmony with each other. We also got Mai Tais, which was perfect. The Japanese chicken and peanut sauce was divine, and my son ate all of his chicken rice plate - which is unusual as he typically is a picky eater. Overall- we highly recommend Makiin for anyone who likes Asian dishes with a bit of fire and soul mixed in between :) On a side note- they can adjust the level of hotness and make it mild l as well.

Google
Delicious food and such kind and wonderful people! Ordered the grilled pork bun, Thai iced tea, and Sen Lek Makiin, and everything was so good. Can’t wait to come back and grateful for another wonderful restaurant in Maynard!

Google
Amazing. Nice addition to Maynard. The food was amazing. Took a little awhile to take our order and they brought our mains before apps. Assuming they are working out the kinks. But we will be back

I went during the soft opening week with my partner. Space has a really cozy feel. Food was incredible, and all the staff were very friendly. I can't wait to go back!

Google
If you are from Maynard, or one of the other suburbs in the area, you might like this place, but if you are from the city, you probably will find the food quality to be not as good as what you’re used to. Soft shell crab bun was undercooked & oversauced. Grilled pork was mostly thin, tough, & dry. Asparagus was small & undercooked. Our server was not that attentive but kind.

Yelp
My family and I came for dinner on a Friday night and had an overall positive experience. The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived around 6, though it had filled up a bit by the time we left. Ambiance was comfortable and welcoming, other than the fact that it was a bit cold. We ordered the veggie potstickers as an app, which were very flavorful and tasty. For my main, I ordered the Khao Gai Yang, a dish with chicken, rice, veggies, and a sauce on the side. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. My only complaint is that the sauce was quite fishy, which isn't to my personal taste. I would come back but try something else next time.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that our waitress was absolutely lovely! So happy and sweet. She was the best part of our experience. Atmosphere was fairly stark other than the slightly bizarre mural and it was empty and very cold. Our waitress was super accommodating and brought over a space heater. The music was loud and had dance vibes. Just not what I was looking for. The soup was super flavorful and my boyfriend loved it. The peanut curry was mediocre and needed more vegetables. The spicy edamame was just alright. We love trying new places, but I won't be back to this one, unfortunately.

Yelp
New spot in the area. The staff was friendly. The food was solid. The groups favorite was the garlic chicken and gyoza. The tom yum fried rice was good but extremely spicy. I can handle and like spice, but couldn't handle the fried rice.

Yelp
Soft opening review: The staff was very attentive, friendly and happy to open their new restaurant (they also own Smack Noodle in Maynard.) We tried the spicy edamame (good flavor, with a slightly sweet and spicy glaze) and the roti peanut curry (described as a flatbread but was more of a crispy, flaky pancake with a delicious spicy peanut sauce. We could have grabbed a spoon and ate the remaining sauce!) They have several beers on draft including Sapporo, and they are going to serve cocktails in the future. They are located in the former Amory's Tomb craft beer location, which they have refreshed with new tables and chairs, a new wooden bar top and a wonderful mural on the long wall. We were very pleased and will return soon!

Yelp
If you like sweet food, then this is the place for you. With the help of the waitress I ordered something "not sweet". It was sweet to me. Back to "chinatown" where I can get more authentic asian cuisine. The service and atmosphere was good.

Christopher C.

Yelp
Great new addition to the Maynard culinary scene. Thai/asian food the way it should be done. I was impressed with the chicken basil dish. I wasn't expecting it to be smaller crumbled pieces of chicken, but it works. The staff are welcoming and it is a nice space after renovation.

Yelp
This is the most sophisticated restaurant in Concord/Maynard/Acton area. My partner and I went for a date night and everything we had was delicious. It's surprising that this restaurant hasn't gathered more attention. I prefer this place much more than Smack Noodle, where everything tastes the same.

Yelp
Oh my goodness, I am so excited to have this place in Maynard! The first bite of my meal had me downloading yelp to leave this review. Tonight, I had a tofu bun for my appetizer, and the makiin fried rice with grilled pork as my entree. 10/10 for both. Can't wait to come back!

Rob E.

Yelp
Our first take out from Makiin was a delight. We had fried oysters, a tofu bun, a pork bun, and Mi Kii Mai with Grilled chicken. The oysters were delicately crispy and flavorful, although the oysters had completely dissolved. The buns were outstanding - excellent cook on the proteins and everything tasted great. The noodles, however, were spectacular - spicy and sweet and delicious. We're looking forward to going back and trying the rice dishes. The place looks roomy and inviting. I hope the area embraces another Thai-fusion restaurant. We're lucky to have so many great choices.

Yelp
The food was great but they were very understaffed and service was really bad. We were seated and then ignored for 40 mins, the waiter doggedly refused to look our way, take our order or even give us water until we reminded him a few times. He didn't even take our order right and when we asked about the missing items kept saying they were working on it. We finally gave up after 2 hours and asked for the check

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are very happy that this place opened up. We just ate there for the first time tonight and it was absolutely incredible. The waitress was so sweet and so kind. We will definitely be coming back for more. I hope they stick around for a long time!

Kim F.

Yelp
Got takeout right before close at 2:30. The woman working the front was all smiles and very kind. The soft shell crab bun was the standout, the fried chicken (karage) was good as well. the peanut curry sauce came separate from the meats and veggies (appreciated). the sauce was almost too sweet for our liking, but the pork was cooked very well with amazing flavor!

Lenny M.

Yelp
What an amazing surprise! We had five dishes and all blew us away. The soft-shelled crab bun just exploded with layers of taste and texture. Wonderful and sweet service to boot. And only 2 weeks old.

David M.

Yelp
Take-out: ordered only the Mi Makiin with grilled chicken. Disappointing. Blah remen noodles in a mild brown sauce, forgettable vegetables, near-tastless chicken.

Susan C.

Yelp
Brought my son today to try this out. Food was fantastic! We tried spicy vegetable dumplings, soft shell crab bun, and chicken peanut curry. Everything was great. We will be back!

Eric S.

Yelp
I got the Mi Kii Mao with grilled chicken and was very pleased, good flavors and spice. The waiter was attentive, polite, and made a good lunch recommendation. I'm glad to have another great restaurant in Maynard, and I'll be back.
