I am a disabled veteran in a wheelchair. I pulled into the parking lot, planning to buy some food. The disabled spot by the entrance has no wheelchair unloading area, so I parked in the other spot with a disabled wheelchair logo, that had striping next to it. My mom called to ask about my ortho appointment, and I talked to her for a couple minutes, and a man in a black SUV parked ON THE STRIPED AREA, with most of the spots in the lot open, effectively preventing me from unloading my wheelchair.
I rolled down my window and asked if he could park in a different spot, as I couldn't unload my wheelchair. He told me it was his place, and a private lot, and that wasn't the disabled spot (even though it was painted as such, and had a wheelchair logo on the ground and a striped area next to it, which he parked on), and that he was going to call the tow truck because wasn't shopping. I replied, a little shocked, that I was about to go in, but now I couldn't. He said he would move but he was calling the tow truck, and pulled out his phone. I drove away, upset, to avoid being towed.
This is absolutely the worst I have ever been treated at any business anywhere, as a veteran, as a person with disabilities, as a person. I plan on looking into other ways of reporting this business as well.
