My husband and I enjoyed our date night here. This restaurant was very hospitable. You’re greeted as soon as you walk in. All the servers work together so your experience is exceptional. The food was amazing! Omg the garlic chicken was the best dish with crispy potato chips on the side. The chicken was tender and full of flavor. You can pour the extra sauce in the pot over your rice if you want. I did! 😍 It was so good that I will return just to eat this dish. The portions are a great size. Prices are reasonable! The paella was good as well. Best part was the scallops in the paella for me. We also had coffees which we enjoyed. If you want Spanish and Portuguese food this cute spot is worth your time. Mouth watering dishes! Enjoy!

Google
We've never been disappointed. The staff, atmosphere and food is a whole vibe. It's ideal for romantic dinners, birthday celebrations, and networking. Their attention to detail, the variety of flavors offered and warmth of the waiters makes this a cut above the rest. My husband took me out for my birthday and we've been back a few times since then. I hope they keep it up.

Google
great service at the bar . we ate the special. it was a steak on a hot rock with 2 shrimp on it. they cut the meat in front of you on the rock so the presentation was very nice . The steak was hard no flavor. the shrimp were dry .

Google
Had a meetup with two of my many sisters here. We love good Spanish cuisine and this was midway for us to meet. What a true gem! The food is excellent with significant portions. The people who wait at and own the restaurant made us feel like we were their top priority even with the restaurant very busy. They have a private space for larger parties away from the main space. Parking on the street and a lot in back.

Google

Google
Another great meal. The steak served on a hot stone, cooked tableside is awesome. Great paella. Great appetizers. The garlic shrimp is fantastic. The red sangria is the best around. The service is impeccable. The Malaga after dinner drink is also a great way to end the night.

Google
Best Spanish restaurant around the area. Went for my birthday for the first time and enjoy it. I was craving paella, and the paella valenciana did not disappoint. They sang my birthday in a very cheering way and gave me crema catalana as dessert. First time trying that beer as well. Totally recommend it if you are into trying different beers

Google
Words cannot adequately describe the depth of quality and service this restaurant provides to it's customers. The staff are extremely friendly and deliver outstanding service. The seafood specials are incredibly fresh and the sangria is very flavorful. Portions are generous. I strongly recommend having the monkfish when offered. Been here twice and have been greatly impressed both times. We will be returning again very soon.

Yelp
My second house, amazing food and let's not forget their incredible unique Sangria, you will not find the sangria no where else

Yelp
Finally had a chance to experience this amazing place after several people told me to try it and it was amazing ! I'll get straight to it , great food great atmosphere great service a must try if you love authentic Spanish cuisine Pros : great food great atmosphere great service Cons : the bathroom literally was the size of a closet , the servers are great but they overtly check on you a bit too much and one even took a plate I was still eating on

Timothy J.

Yelp
First time we went, I really loved my whole fish and the other dish we ordered was ok but last time when we went we all felt should've gone somewer else. Ambience and looks are good but it's pricey for wat you get. Can be better. We felt May be because of the day we went we weren't impressed by the food and service!

Yelp
Parking is around back. This is a beautiful little restaurant, tastefully decorated and incredibly clean. The staff is very friendly, accommodating & provided excellent service. We got the bone-in arroz con pollo, the sangria and the lemon sorbet. The arroz was fresh and flavorful. The sangria was some of the best I've ever had. And the lemon sorbet was yummy--a real treat! Side note: ask for the homemade potato chips! You will be glad you did! Highly recommend Malaga!

Yelp
Solid experience overall. Friendly staff, clean environment, and tasty food. A couple of items could've been hotter, but nothing major. Would definitely come back again for another relaxed evening.

Yelp
Main dishes were done very well and were the stars of the meal. We had a steak on hot plank and a whole fish special. The potatoes and yellow rice that accompanied each was okay. The sangria was really good, although we found the $21 charge for a glass of it and a glass of soda excessive. Receipt was hand written/totaled. Service was fine, one waiter recited all the specials, of which they were a few, we thought that was pretty talented, lol. And, all the other staff seemed to pitch in to manage each white-clothed table. We did have to wait at the front door for about 5 minutes before being acknowledged by a staffer, after he finished preparing a drink and then looked in on some other diners. The restaurant is nicely appointed: soothing yellow walls and calming artwork. It is set up in divided sections with the bar in between, and right off the front entrance. There is ample parking next to it and across the street. If going on a Sunday, try to make a reservation for the main area, the patrons seemed to be enjoying the entertainment over there.

Yelp
Went for this little spot in Hamilton while in NJ. While it has the vibe, the meal was WAY off for us. I do not like my Paella with chicken bones littered in the meal/rice. Chicken should always be either breast or boneless in a good paella. Rice was a little soupy, or more than it should be. Kids chicken tender and fries should not be $20. The place is super overpriced. The dessert, lemon cello was good. Will not return.

Don J.

Yelp
Pleasant surroundings, good service, and great food. Free parking is provided. The menu is extensive and each dish is prepared with care.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. The food was fresh, flavorful, and plenty. The calamari was freshly and lightly battered. The staff was so attentive and friendly. They make their own sangria. Not just wine with fruit juice added. Atmosphere was mid-casual. Cant wait to go back.

Mario B.

Yelp
First time here but will definitely be back. Great lunch, impressive wine list. Real Spanish cuisine, empanadas were to die for!
google avatar

Drew W.

Yelp
Have come here many times and always an amazing experience. The servers and staff are warm and welcoming and everyone works as a team. The food is always the best the flavors are incredible. The sangria is also the best. Very cosy and welcoming restaurant.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience!! The service was absolutely amazing! What an awesome atmosphere. And the food was absolutely delicious!! Such a great menu with choices you may have never seen before. We will definitely be going back. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Service: excellent, some of the best I've ever had. Wait staff was attentive and ran down numerous speciality options. Everyone was super friendly. Environment: very clean. It's not a huge place. It has a small bar area and a dining room which houses about 20 tables. You definitely get the vibe of being in Spain. The artwork is beautiful. Prices: everything was priced appropriately and worth every penny. It's comparative with most other restaurants. Food: food was very tasty. From the stuffed salmon which I cider spinach and crabmeat, to the chicken and garlic sauce. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the portions were huge. The sangria we ordered was spot on. Tasted like AUTHENTIC sangria! Highly recommend to anyone!

Yelp
Arrived at 545pm they do not take reservations for parties of two. We did not have a problem getting a table and were seated promptly. It was a Friday evening and we have eaten here before. There is ample parking right next to the place. The smallish bar area was packed with what appeared to be regulars. Our server arrived and regaled us with the specials there were quite a few and my wife mentioned why bother with the printed menu. We started with a pitcher of the red sangria. It is very tasty and never fails to impress. My wife ordered the eggplant special and I got the Ecuadorian fish special I forgot the local name but was told it was similar to red snapper. We started with an appetizer of empanadas. The empanadas were wonderful tasty and full of good bits of sausage and veggies. Six empanadas which we split. The eggplant was great my wife could not finish it and she has dinner another night as take home. My fish was very good but was a lot of work as there were many more bones in there than I was expecting. It is always nice when a place debones the fish at your table they do not do that here. Both dishes were served with their signature home made potato chips and vegetables. I also got a plate of rice. Everything was prepared perfectly. Service was extremely attentive. Our waiter was accommodating and pleasant. There were bussers everywhere. The place has an inviting and simpatico feel to it. We finished with an espresso and two complimentary Spanish almond liqueur's which were very tasty. We did not get dessert. The portions are huge and there is plenty of food in each dish. We will return. Nancy & Mark.

Yelp
The owner went out of her way to be accommodating, and personally greeted us when we came in. The food was as good or better that found in the best Spanish restaurants in Newark. The shrimp with garlic was fabulous and everyone in our party enjoyed the food

Yelp
Tucked into a corner where Hamilton meets Trenton, Malaga remains an enduring enigma within a restaurant world where service and kitchen quality has fallen off a cliff. The service is old school sublime and the seafood is perfectly prepared. If you're looking for on the nose modernism and dime-sized portions there's more than a few food couture fad factories in NYC and Philly that would be glad to relieve you of your better angels and your wallet. However, If you're looking for a return to service and a well executed menu, Malaga is certainly worth your attention and patronage. Their Sangria alone is worth five very easy stars.

Yelp
Had dinner last night. There were 8 of us. Two did not like their dinner at all. Their meals were not tasty. Appetizers were small and very expensive. Almost the cost of a reasonable meal. All in all I think this is the last time they will see us. There are better options that are more reasonably priced.

Yelp
Trenton used to have a reputation for the Italian restaurants in Chambersburg for decades. This is nothing like that era. Malagas is still here and on a Wednesday night it filled up easily. Tonight I had the Langastinos - prawn. Yum! DH had the Paella yum#2! Dear son 1 had pork chops-perfect and Ds#2 had the garlic chicken- perfect. Now add in devoted staff- on weekends in warm months- you have to ask Willy to play his large guitar-(ask for a Beatles song!). There's a small parking lot next to the restaurant and another across the street. Desserts are beautiful and at the end everyone gets a little liquor-or at least my cool table did!

Yelp
Fabulous all the way around! We've been coming here for 27 years.... our first date was here!! Love the food and the SANGRIA!!!!!!! Enjoyed the flamingo dancers! Amazing! Excellent servers who treat us like family! I know we will be back!

Seamus M.

Yelp
Food was some of the best I have had in the Mercer County area. Service was great, handled a large party very well. Loved the whole experience. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

AJ ..

Yelp
I have been here for lunch, dinner and most recently a wedding and reception in their private event area separate from the restaurant. The food is always amazing and super authentic. Sangria is the best around so make sure to order a pitcher not just a glass.
google avatar

Nadia B.

Yelp
This place is a must-try. Everything is fresh and delicious. The service is also super friendly. And the atmosphere feels like family. When you walk in, the scent of the food makes you want to eat. My mom and baby sister ordered virgin Piña Coladas, and they inhaled it. This place is amazing and doesn't disappoint.
google avatar

Teaira J.

Yelp
This is a nice place for a date or a celebration of some kind of you like seafood. The dishes are quite large so either come hungry or come prepared to share an entree. Super nice attentive staff as well.
google avatar

Davis L.

Yelp
We have eaten here for years and the food is always excellent. The owners are a sister and brother and they are lovely and take great care of their guests.
google avatar

Richard D.

Yelp
The food and I mean all of it was really good...right down to the bread...the sangria was spot on as well...I wanted to take some home. The service is excellent...fine dining service, everyone was friendly & personable. It made everything taste even better...a great meal paired with great service! The dining room we dined in was very nice, quaint, clean, & well laid out. There was also another dining area inside as well and what looked like a seasonal area out doors. We've had take out here several times, food was so good & we always said we needed to dine in, so we did. This place is a local gem.
google avatar

Dave W.

Yelp
Another great meal at Malaga! We shared a nice appetizer - Empanadas and followed with Salmon in puff pastry and Paella. The portions of Salmon were both huge and I finished our leftovers yesterday. Malaga is just a fun place - how else do you explain 7 tables with a birthday? Not fancy and parking can sometimes be an issue but they deliver!
google avatar

Carlos E.

Yelp
As always....great!! The best!!!. Great food and excellent Sangria!!!. Thank for the delicious food, Sangria and service!!!

Anderson R.

Yelp
food was so ah. got 20$ mozzarella sticks straight from the freezer with fries that looked like british chips and tasted like it( not good) got the sirloin steak and they're allergic to seasoning or something, i tasted 1 grain of salt on the steak and had to add salt and pepper to the whole thing, the mushroom sauce carried, next time i come here, i'm bringing my own seasonsings, the calamari tasted like rubber without the rubber taste (meaning still had no seasoning!) and do not get me started with the olive oil, tasted like straight motor oil fresh out a 1992 honda accord

Rajai R.

Yelp
Absolute waste of time money and energy! Inhospitable staff, flavorless food, dated decor... I ordered over the phone, and walked in to pay and go, however NOT a single staff member greeted me or asked if I needed anything...food was tasteless and had no love to it....asked for the bill and they just TOLD me a total without a breakdown of cost.... Save yourself the time and go somewhere else
google avatar

Haolun L.

Yelp
Not a regular for Spanish/Portugal food. But the seafood here is actually quite well made here. Wouldn't say the paella is the best I've had but try the whole fish if you fancy something unique and new. They do have a rather extensive desert list, and the dessert are in good portion and look really delicious (according to my observation from other tables) but we are too full i the end to try any. I do really love the ambiance. A band performed happy birthday to a table and definitely makes out dinner so much happier
google avatar

Harriett R.

Yelp
I hosted an 80 th birthday party for my husband this summer at Malaga. Everyone was so eager for my guests to have an enjoyable time. The food was amazing and my guests are still talking about it. Under the watchful eye of Angela things ran very smoothly. Max a waiter who had waited on me before was amazing. He even brought out a guitar and sang Happy Birthday in Spanish. I would not hesitate to have a party here or just go for an enjoyable dinner.
google avatar

Felicia H.

Yelp
Great food and the house sangria does NOT disappoint! Not the biggest restaurant on the inside, and you may have to wait on a Friday or Saturday night, but we'll worth a visit.

Rich C.

Yelp
I called on Mothers Day and they were a huge help and able to squeeze us in last minute. We only waited 15 minutes to be seated in a holiday. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had the empanada appetizers and white asparagus starter with a pitcher of sangria. The bread was warm and crusty. I had the chicken in garlic sauce and it was tender and tasty. Just watch out for the little bones! Go early because even with 3 parking lots, the parking can be - challenge.

Terry B.

Yelp
Delicious Paella! Super tender osso bucco! Shrimp & chicken empanadas! Great service! Healthy portions
google avatar

Howard G.

Yelp
Ole!! Malaga is by far the best Spanish/Portuguese restaurant. Been in Trenton over thirty years and for all the right reasons. Had an early New Year's Eve dinner there. The place was jumpin at 3:20 pm. Had a quality Margarita and fresh Sangria. We had a super veal dish and a very nice fish dish Mariscada Malaga. A signature dish. Everything was delicious, hot and beautifully prepared. It's a cozy dining room and they have a welcoming cocktail bar. Went back last Sunday and shared perfect empanadas and twin stuffed lobsters. Wow! Best seafood ever. A delicious desert and good coffee ended this perfect meal. Greeter and pro waitstaff are on their game. Like being at a fine taverna. Def our new favorite place.

Yelp
Where do I begin! My boyfriend and I went to dinner last night, This is my 4th time coning here, I have to say this restaurant is a 5 star, perhaps a 10! Ever since I started going here I have always had such a remarkable time! The waiters, busers are amazing, they are always at your service! The place is always so beautiful and well taken care of!!! The one thing that I do like that is they have a separate menu for vegetarians! My boyfriend and I are both vegan so there are a lot of options!! The food is always fast, hot snd delish! It's worth your money!!!!! This is one of my favorite restaurants!!!

Yelp
My friend highly recommended Malaga. I was greeted and seated promptly. What a charming place . Cute decorations. Lots of staff. There were lots of specials and recommendations! We enjoyed the sangria. So fresh and delicious. Wow! I feel happy inside and out ! The guitar music is beautiful too. We got jamon serrano also pimienta relleno for appetizers. It was huge and amazing. So in Spain the portions are a smaller portions so I would say each plate is like for 4 people to share. I ordered paella marisco and my friend ordered stuffed chicken . Delicious and rich. . The food was sooooooo delicious and colorful and exceedingly plentiful. Don't fill up on the bread... it's pretty fabulous!!. I had no room for dessert. Guillermo was a lovely and charming host with the most. And the lovely Angela also recommended a almond liquor after the meal. I had never had such a thing. So sweet and so delightful. I really really loved Malaga restaurant tonight!! Tip: I went to make reservations but it's only done for parties of 5 or larger. Tip: There was lots of parking... fyi. Tip: They have flamenco dancers perform monthly!! Wow
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
Having lived in Spain for many years, we frequent this place because it is authentic, the food is great, service is attentive. This last visit we got the fish of the day for lunch, a delicious "panga" with a special sauce. It was wonderful.
google avatar

Ronald R.

Yelp
We've been going to this fine restaurant for 20 some odd years. Still one of our favorites. The service is top notch, the food is amazing, the sangria is full of fresh fruit and the deserts are amazing. They have 3 parking lots that are protected so little worried there. Closed on Mondays. We were there last night (Tuesday) for a 6 o'clock dinner party of 4. By 7:30 the place was packed. Reservations are suggested. The check was $200 for the 4 of us plus a $50 tip. That included two pitchers of sangria and one mixed drink. Great for Birthday's, Anniversary's, Date Night or just plain because! Don't forget to ask for the complimentary almond liquor after dinner drink.

Yelp
Malaga is a solid Iberian restaurant right on the border of Trenton and Hamilton. It is very popular. Most of their dishes on the menu emanate from the Spanish side of the Iberian Peninsula as opposed to the Portuguese side. A loaf of fresh bread will start each meal. For my main course I ordered the Mariscada "Malaga". This was a tasty seafood stew which came with saffron rice. The shellfish offerings were generous. My main complaint was that the sauce or maybe better described as the broth was just too salty for me. I am used to European lightly salted creations as opposed to heavily salted American dishes. Service on the day I was there was busy keeping up with a full restaurant and I didn't find it that friendly ... but it was adequate. Indeed getting the check took a little while. Still if you are in the Trenton, Malaga is a decent bet for a hearty meal.
google avatar

Sejal R.

Yelp
Had the veggie paella and the seafood dish that came in a sherry sauce. It was fantastic and definitely feeds two people. The chocolate cake dessert they have is perfect as it's not too sweet. Definitely get the house sangria.

Al B.

Yelp
The paella was phenomenal. I had the catch of the day and it was served fresh and piping hot. Of course the house sangria was tasty as always.
google avatar

Matthew N.

Yelp
I wish I could come here every. day. They make me feel like family and the food is absurdly good. They have a nice enclosed terrace, air conditioned, and nothing we get here EVER disappoints. Come hungry and eat like a king.
google avatar

Aishwarya S.

Yelp
Delicious food, large portions and great vibes!! Paella was my favorite. We also loved the sizzling surf and turf. Great food and looking forward to coming back. I'd get another dessert. Crème brûlée fell flat.
google avatar

Albert F.

Yelp
This was an outstanding Spanish Seafood restaurant that we so thoroughly enjoyed! Service was spectacular, food was savory and delicious. A bit on the pricy side but worth every penny. Portions are good and the food was all cooked to perfection. Non of the fish dishes were dry, seafood was succulent & the steaks were amazing! I highly recommend this family owned gem! About 45 minutes drive from Seaside heights beach.
google avatar

Linda O.

Yelp
Food was great. Service too. However they charge you using your credit card. FUC(;:K that. Never go back

Magali A.

Yelp
Good food and the sangria is to die for! The guys are very nice and take good care of the people who come there!
google avatar

Tammy D.

Yelp
The staff is so friendly and every dish has been as good or better than expected. Paella and lobster are two favorites, and it's hard to get good seafood dishes around here. They also serve amazing red sangria, if you don't finish the pitcher (rarely happens), you can take it home. And a note on dessert - ask what is made in-house before you pick.

Wendy B.

Yelp
Favorite regional restaurant, delicious food always, professional servers always on the top of their game. We have never had a bad meal there, have tried everything from octopus to goat, amazing! Don't miss the sangria, it's an experience!!
