This beautiful property nestled in the Wachau Valley is an absolute treasure. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable - warm, attentive and genuinely welcome. The setting is stunning and our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer! Highly recommend this heavenly retreat to anyone visiting lower Austria.||A special thanks to Sebastain for assisting us with dinner reservations and an ebike tour of the valley - highlights of our stay!

This was a memorable stay. From our first emails on reservations to saying good-bye, what a great experience. The suites are 2 floors with a mezzanine with a large futon-style couch. Large sliding glass doors (floor to ceiling) with a large balcony and rolling metal shutter blinds for darkness. King size beds are very comfortable. The shower area was immense, and some rooms have bathtubs. Room amenities are high-end. Breakfast is extensive, lots of choices from typical ham/cheese/bread, to figs and cheese, home-made jams, and lots of daily changing selections – a very different breakfast that is yummy. Service is like you are family – our thanks to Alexis (a bundle of energy and expert in recommendations for touring, food, you name it), Sebastien and Michael. Michael is the winemaker, and we had a great conversation on the terroir. This is a winery and tours are offered at 10:00 on Saturdays and by appointment. There is a little book for the honor bar (wines, water, brandy) where you note what you take, and it is on your bill at check-out. To the wines, wow, what a selection from single vineyard Rieslings and Gruner Veltliner to local town names wines and they are great. The breakfast, sitting room is beautiful with views from the vines to Stift Gottweig, and vinyl record player and assorted selections. One of the places that makes you realize how great travel can be.

I cannot rate the Malat Hotel in the vineyards high enough. had two fantastic nights in the hotel and loved the views of the vineyards and the Stift Göttweig. Alexis gave us a very warm welcome and was very helpful giving us guidance on what to do in the region. I personally found my new personal favourite summer wine in the Rose Furth :-)||The breakfast definitely is nice and - for Austrian standards - outstanding.

Hi Alexis, thank you very much for everything (we were the couple with the Harley). Although we spent only 1 night there, we can highly recommend. Superb and stylish rooms, very spacey, great view. Breakfast is simply amazing. Considering the hotel has only 10 or so rooms, you are being looked after like in an excellent 5 star hotel. And above all, you can taste all the great wines from the Malat winery. Our favourites are the Chardonnay Reserve and the Sparkling brut - world-class - like Alexis :-)

We had a very lovely short stay. ||The property itself is situated at the end of the Palt village and as such offers stunning views of the vineyards and the nearby Göttweig abbey. The hotel is easily accessible by car and offers free parking. The grounds are well kept, the buildings nicely incorporated into surroundings. ||Upon arrival, we were greeted by our host and had a quick tour of the property and a chat about our interests/questions over a glass of wine.||Our suite was spotlessly clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. It even had a smaller "upper floor hideaway" accessible by stairs that was occupied by a flat sofa, which was great for relaxing during the day, but I believe could also serve as the kid's corner if needed. The bathroom had a large dual sink and a walk-in shower, while the toilet was separate. ||The daily breakfast was a masterfully crafted buffet with locally sourced delicacies. The Malat apricot and grape juices at breakfast were superb!||The staff were friendly and attentive, communication in English was not a problem.||||All in all a great stay in a great hotel. ||(... if only they added a rooftop swimming pool, one would never want to leave:-)

My husband and I spent two nights in a Suite and wish we could have stayed longer! The hotel is easily accessible from Krems train station, either by taxi or from Furth-Palt station (about a 10 min walk). We were warmly welcomed by Therese and given a glass of wine (there is a fridge from which you can serve yourself, very reasonably priced at €3-6 per glass, and lovely patios where you can enjoy them).||||Alexis was very helpful in making recommendations for dinner in the area, and also made reservations and booked taxis for us. We thoroughly enjoyed both restaurants! (Taxis are a bit pricey in the area so be prepared to pay €45+ for a 20 min taxi ride.)||||We were also pointed towards some excellent hiking routes, up to Göttweig and a longer hike over to Durnstein. Therese and Alexis gave us maps anx directions. ||||Our room was very clean and comfortable, and breakfast was a highlight! The entire staff are friendly and welcoming, we felt so well taken care of. This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay in.

If you want to take a break and relax, this is the perfect spot, especially if you are in the Wachau wine region of Austria or want to escape Vienna. The rooms are spacious and inexpensive. The decor is modern and classic at the same time. Absolutely gorgeous. Breakfast buffet in the dining are is a wonderful treat when looking out to the vineyards. ||||Definitely worth a repeat. Wait, no, ... many repeats.
