I have stayed at the hotel a number of times and will go back again. ||The chef at the restaurant, Peter Treussinger, is one of the finest culinary artists I have had the pleasure to meet. His blend of traditional cooking with contemporary cuisine makes his restaurant one of the best I have visited.

We were only looking for a place to have a quick stop on the way to Slovenia and happened to stumble into Malerwinkl on a detour. The place is decorated with a great love to detail and offers surprising specialties, for example a home-made mint syrup lemonade which is very refreshing and nice. Personnel is helpful and service-oriented, and the atmosphere is very relaxing.

The Gastof zum Malerwinkl is a great place a bit off some of the tourist attractions in the region. We went there for lunch and were really surprised by the quality of the food. The dishes are not only perfectly executed but all feature a twist putting them well above the price level. The fish soup and the pumpkin soup both were great, with the pumpkin soup maybe being the best I ever had. They are specialised in local ingredients and for the main we had local fish. Also cooked perfectly and overall an extremely well composed plate. The wine list is also worth special mentioning. If you are somewhere in the area, make the effort and go there. Really worth it!
