Malibu Shaman

Used to love coming here years ago. Recently stopped by and it just is not the same. Don’t know if it was sold but the guy that used to run the shop was not there that day. Lady who was there was not friendly and not helpful. Store used to have a lot of unique items. Now looks like a run of the mill Chinese crap. Sorry Malibu shaman. You used to be a favorite spot for me. No longer.

Very beautiful crystals and jewelry! They have lots of candles and incense. Very nice!

Went to this store a few years ago, it was truly a diamond in the rough that had a good amount of books and tools for its size. The employee was quite informative of what I was needing help with.

Incredible shop with primarily very nice gems and minerals. Well worth a visit very large inventory. This is a top of the line gem and mineral shop. All price ranges many inexpensive items as well as medium to high. More like a musuem rather than a shop. Well worth a visit.

This place is nothing short of wonderful. It was actually recommended to me by a reader at The Witchery in Galveston, TX. She told me I’d move to California and to go here. I’ve been wholly impressed by one of the readers here whom I’ve been seeing for over 3 years. She’s been an incredible guide for me as I’ve made major transitions in my life from Texas to California. The Shaman also has a high quality collection of precious stones and unique books. I highly recommend this place for anyone who has a deep interest in the metaphysical and esoteric.

My favorite metaphysical/spiritual bookstore. The shop is extremely well kept and neat with displays maintaining clean clear glass and well placed crystals, candles, card decks, books, and everything else you would expect from a shop like this. I wish the store was open a little later in the evening but I've never seen anyone working the shop other than the owner and I suspect he probably tries to have a life outside of the store. I am definitely going back. Just about every other time I go to Malibu or have a lazy Sunday I try to make this beautiful shop part of my day. I go home enriched.

I have been a client of Malibu Shaman for many years. I must recommend it as your go to place to find crystals, oils, potions, books or psychic readings. I have gotten readings with Cathy Crystal, off and on for the last 10 years and I have to say, she is extremely gifted and accurate. I highly recommend her. If you are in or near the Malibu area, stop by the Malibu Shaman and be amazed!

a magical and beautiful crystal store. the owner is so helpful and very friendly. he even did a palo Santo cleanse for my crystal I bought. its definitely a high vibe place. I will be back soon.

I recently started working in the area and wanted something for my workspace. I got a great deal on a fluorite cluster. The store owner is very helpful and the pricing is very reasonable (which I did not expect). I'm incredibly happy with my purchase and I WILL be back!

Unbelievable service. Sunday May 23, 2021 I was here with my 18 year old and there was about 5 people in there on a Sunday afternoon. One seeing the reader and the couple in the store with us. It was way before 6, here I was looking at the oracle cards they had.. shopping to buy one for my daughter before she goes to college. She's 18, shopping with her because I look young, people generally thinks I'm young or that we are friends. Anyway, the lady minding the store was having such friendly conversation with the Caucasian couple even tho the guy was being rude and I overheard her asking about his spirit animal and he loudly said he is a butcher and prefers to eat animals & butcher them. He was clearly being rude to her. But whatever, it's non of my business, even tho it was distracting a bit. I continued browsing through their oracle and tarot cards as it was my intention to teach my daughter a few things before she leaves for college. (Oracle and tarot cards as guide) She then suddenly came to us and told her they would be closing in 5-10 minutes. Then straight away said she had to go and close the store because she was getting an IV next door. But instead of waiting for me to finish discussing what my daughter wanted, she basically kicked us out of there! She was like " I have to go now. " How freaking rude!!! I normally don't think this way, it's not my character but i can't help but think that her behavior towards us was less pleasant because we were not white. I understand that store was closing at 6pm and it was not 6pm yet so I was finishing my discussion with my daughter. But what I don't understand is how she treated us, I'm sorry.. but perhaps.. Is it because we are people of color? My daughter is half black, she shaved her head so it's growing into a Mohawk, she does not look like the normal shopper in this area.. so anyway she immediately was not so friendly with her, and just her approach. Like the other guy on here said.. she could be a bit judgy??? It's hard not to say her energy was a bit discriminating. Why? Why is it that she was super sweet to the white couple who had an obnoxious & rude behavior towards her... and yet she literally kicked us out of the store??? I didn't hear her telling the dude he was getting loud and perhaps disturbing to other customers? I'm so disappointed! As my boyfriend has purchased for me from here in the past.. and he is white! He lives in the neighborhood... I've never seen any of them act this way. Anyway you call this place a shamans place? Really? Isn't shamanism meant to be a practice of working with good energy to help cultivate within each other for the earth and mankind?? and yet the energy of the woman who was in here on Sunday evening did not send a good vibes at all. Here's the problem... when men behave in certain ways... be rude.. and I'm sure she would know what I'm talking about.. it's really shifting this and holding them accountable for their behavior and not allowing them to continue.. if you are nice to them they will continue being rude to others, in stores & speak to women is disrespectful ways etc. And on the other hand, here's my daughter and I genuinely shopping quietly and looking for things TOGETHER & bonding.. who she decided to tell us to leave??? I'm sorry but I can't help but say that perhaps because we are people of color. What a shame... my grandmother is a native woman and practiced shamanism since I was Child.. and continue to Practice this as an adult, passing on to my child... I'm disappointed we were treated this way at a place that calls themselves shamans? Seriously? So disappointing! I scrolled through old reviews.. looks like other people found the service to be rude.. makes me wonder really... what energy she is projecting. Anyway I believe in Karma. A lot. It doesn't just take crystals and incense to make you feel elevated, enlightened and be a good person. It takes work IRL and practicing how to work with compassion love and kindness.. although I am upset and disappointed at how we were treated here.. I'm sure the energy in the Ether and beyond knows what is kind and good. So as a true lover and passion for shamanic healing.. would I recommend this place? Probably NOT the best place to get our crystals, oracle and tarot cards here... I would not recommend it at all. There's a nice crystal shop by Point Dume, they are atleast nicer.. also right by Zuma.. there's sometimes a guy with a truck who sells gems and Crystal good pricing. I'm sure if there are other places with genuine authentic people who runs a good solid non discriminatory place, I wouldn't recommend getting healing tools from here.. I read from a guy in a wheel chair who felt slight similar discrimination vibes.. imagine that!! I hope people recognize things. Hope the owner is aware.. that this is not the right way of customer service and how to treat people. Period.

Such a fun, cute shop! There are lots of beautiful crystals, books and jewelry, as well as psychic readings if that's your jam. Scott the owner is super knowledgeable about rocks and gems and can explain how they grow and where each stone is from. He is also wonderful to chat with and very friendly. Will be returning again soon!

It's a nice store, I love the store! But the readings are absolutely whack. I had only 15 minutes with the reader and she spent 10 of them asking me questions, completely straying away from the purpose of our interaction, talking about the clock, my jewelry, making assumptions that weren't true. Would never recommend a reading here.

I came here on my way home from some business banking. I had a hard time wrapping my head around what had happened in a recent relationship. I come in and there is a very engaging clerk to greet me in this cute little store. She sends me to speak to "Jane" ... She was amazing! Listened intently and best of all...in succinct manner told me the things I had done that contributed to the issue as well as the problematic things he was doing. There was no sugar coating and her communication was clear and commanding. Mad respect for Lady Jane!

Malibu Shaman is a special boutique located inside the Malibu Country Mart. Scott, the owner, has so much knowledge and is very helpful to answer any questions. Lady Jane is a talented psychic and I have gotten many readings from her as well as referred her clients. I know they have other great psychics there. The shop has books, sage, crystals, cards, etc. It is clean and has a positive feeling there... I love visiting and this should be on your stop when looking for a special gift for someone who loves anything Spiritual. Ps... they love kids and dogs there! I bring in my Maltese and Scott and I always chat about his Maltese dogs and we compare their sweet and funny personalities. Definitely a 5 Star rating for Malibu Shaman:-)

The lady there is saying not nice things nicely, so don't recommend stepping in there, they can't talk about energy if theirs is terrible. Shame on them

Best experience I've ever had at a crystal store! The man has owned this place for over 30 years, he was like a knowledge beacon and helped me pick out a few stones with certain properties I was looking for. It's been a few months since I went and the pieces he helped me choose have been amazing, I love the shungite piece he picked out. He has very low competitive prices, and raw and shaped/polished stones! There's usually a psychic in daily too!

Malibu Shaman is a small and cute metaphysical store with a great book, candle and crystal selection to choose from. The store is always clean with good music and the staff has always been friendly and helpful. It's always a place I make sure to stop in when I am in Malibu.

Love the Malibu Shaman. Have been going to the store for two decades or more. The owner is a very cool guy and the retail clerks that I have encountered have always been helpful, have lots of knowledge, and courteous. They have great products, and psychic readings are offered as well. As soon as you walk in you feel good. If you walk in feeling down or negative you will walk out feeling so much better because the vibe is upbeat and positive. And the energy from the beautiful crystals are uplifting. When I want to make a purchase I go there because of all of this and the products being the best quality. I recommend this store highly.

Been coming here for years decades if not decades. The store moved to the lower level a few years ago, but still remains at the country mart in Malibu. The psychic readings are spot on and super reasonable! The crystals are high-quality, the selection of books are very useful too. Anyone working at the time when you walk in is Always willing to give advice. It's an awesome very welcoming atmosphere.

The crystal selection here is amazing. I have been to quite a few crystal shops in the area, and Malibu Shaman is definitely my favorite. This is where I got my first deck of tarot cards! They have been around for a long time, and for good reason. No pretentiousness like you might expect from Malibu, just good products and good vibes.

This is an amazing place to find a good spiritual read, get candles, and get inspired to stay balanced, positive and recharge your emotional batteries. Scott and his staff always listen and remember your name, know what you need by talking to you and always make you feel welcome and cared about. Stoyana is amazing. Jane is one of those rare individuals who can provide a reading both grounded in real world insight while simultaneously tapping into the unseen forces that make life both mysterious and beautiful. Be sure to book in advance as her appointments fill up! Jane exudes deep respect for whatever issue or question you bring to her table. I highly recommend her.

This store has a reader, books, oracle cards, smudging supplies and minerals. It's the minerals that bring me in. I've found some great pieces over the years. You will find carefully selected pieces of quality for sale. So, you may not find an endless supply of a particular mineral. It's quality over quantity here. The jewelry is nice too. The store has been there since 1983. You will either find the owner there or Cathy. They are both very knowledgeable about stones and helpful. If you are looking for a gift, there a plenty of greeting cards to pick up at the same time. I noticed some amazing masks on the wall for the first time. If it's a weekend, maybe just park on PCH and get a little walking in. Take a look!

I love metaphysical stores. One could say they are my happy place. This Sunday I wanted to try out a new store and get some goodies. I did some research and thought The Malibu Shaman looked like a beautiful store and convinced my boyfriend to make the hour drive. We waked in and we were taking everything in; looking at things that sparked our interest. My boyfriend found these candles he liked and was reading up on what each candle meant. We took a couple of the meanings and we were talking about them. I knew our shopping journey had just begun and didn't want to carry items yet. The lady with brown hair and glasses said to us "Are you going to buy any of the candles? Or are you just going to take the papers?" The way it was said was rude and jarring. I said I was going to get the light green candle. I felt like I had to defend myself. It felt awful. She was just glaring at us. Did we do something wrong? I asked her what the problem was exactly. She told us to get out. I calmly asked her for her name and she said to "leave right now." She kept escalating while we remained calm. We both couldn't believe someone was treating us that way. I'm in a wheelchair so maybe she was bothered by that? Kinda judging a bit? Hard to say. I'm very confused. Oh well. Malibu was beautiful today. :)

I love the staff here and have been coming for years--I almost can't leave without buying something, from candles to sage, jewelry, and crystals. Sometimes I just want to stop in because I love the vibe, and to say hello to the owner and other wonderful people. It's a great gift shop!

The best place to go in Malibu for books, incense, candles, crystals... really anything you need. Always a pleasure to visit and have been coming in for years.

As a energetic& crystal healer I love the idea of purchasing some crystals or palo santo- but sadly every time I enter the shop I am ignored. Like the person behind the counter is above helping me. The big beautiful amethysts are dusty and are no longer doing their work. The stagnation is palpable . I wish this place offered more of a authentic loving environment.

A cozy shop with a beautiful hand picked crystal selection. I bought my wife a deck of the Alex Grey cards and thumbed through an interesting selection of books. I believe they offer readings as well. Owner is so gracious. I know there are quite a few celebs who frequent Malibu Shaman!

The shop has some nice books and crystals but I'm leaving this review for the psychic medium. I came here for a 15 minute reading and she barely looked at the cards and gave me generic answers. The questions that I asked she said that she didn't know or gave generic answers. This lady is a sham. Find another psychic for a better reading.

Truly one of my fave metaphysical shops for decades!! Still consult Dick Sutphen's "The Oracle Within" book I've had since the 90's. This small yet well curated shop is a gem in Malibu!

Don't leave if you do not see Malibu Shaman where it is supposed to be. I freaked out when I saw the empty store upstairs and eventually called. Instant relief, I got the owner, and he said they moved. They are now directly downstairs from where they were. I am so glad. I just love this place. There is not another one like it in our area.

The women in the glasses made it a very uncomfortable experience. Usually I walk out of metaphysical shops feeling uplifted, this place was the complete opposite.

great place, extremely knowledgeable on crystals and has a great selection of some of the most coveted tarot decks while also having some unique ones. in my opinion the best part are the books. an amazing line of very thoughtful books on everything spiritual/ health /medicine /shamanism /wicca /psychic everything. store clerk was amazingly helpful and extremely caring through guiding you to the best tools i needed at the time

This store is beautiful and serene. The customer service is also wonderful. They're knowledge and lovely to chat with. I always enjoy my visits at Malibu Shaman. The center would not be the same without it. An all time fav!

I enjoy this store so much. I always make sure to stop by when I'm in Malibu. They have a good selection of crystals and incense. I especially go for the great book selection. It's a friendly place with a good vibe. I haven't tried having a reading yet so I can't comment about reading services. I picked up an assortment of greeting cards at my last my visit. This place is on the inside of the Country Mart so look carefully.

Been coming here for years and I love the quality and selection of crystals that the owner Scott hand picks.

I have been going to this little "gem " for 15 years. The shamans and astrologers are gifted. The owner is joyful and knowledgeable. It is a teeny little treasure box. I read the reviews from others who scrutinized the size , organization and attitude. First , I have literally never witnessed a rude ' tude in all these years ...even when I'd blast in there with my ' Irish twin' toddlers ! Owner always greeted us with sparkle and vigor in his eyes and gracious patience ! It is tiny .. to me that's part of its charm .. Malibu real estate is redonk! I mean it's outrageous! I feel lucky that we even have this little place still .. it could have been sold out and turned into yet another over priced coffee shop or yet another euro fashionista shop with silly designer jeans that go for hundreds of dollars ! I love all the smells , I love his selection of books and all the shiny sparking jewels and rocks ! Every time I go in here I walk in smiling and every time I leave my cheeks hurt from flexing my laugh muscles ! I have brought in lots of people here and every one I know has told me only positive things! I agree with the woman who says that USA-ers want a "cookie cutter " experience. This place has soul and grit . It's not a homogenized type A joint . Hand made sign? Come on ! Gotta absolutely love that ! I love it. I hope it never closes ..
