Google
100% vegan burger shop in Oakland with plenty of indoor seating. As a vegan, I'm so glad that this place exists! It's situated in a nice, upscale-feeling neighborhood that's well-lit and busy at night. I got a double Ghost Town burger and a cookies and creme shake on the side. The burger tasted good, but mine was missing the onion rings, which I honestly felt a small pang of disappointment about (since I specifically came here to see the novelty of an an extremely stacked burger), but it's also a bit on me since I was too socially awkward to ask the server about it. Nevertheless the burger was good and filling. Also the cookies and creme shake was excellent! The size is smallish but the quality is great. Would definitely come back again for the shakes! For dine-in, the tray doesn't come with liner - so maybe line it with napkins and get utensils before eating, since the large burgers can get messy and fall apart near the end.

One of the best burgers ever, always consistent quality, and delicious. Get the hella fries, and a black vanilla milkshake for the perfect combo

I’m so excited to have them back in Oakland. I missed them! My burger was lovely as always. I also got the Mazapan Milkshake, which they got out to me immediately. The burger took a little bit longer because they experienced a high volume of orders. The only thing I’ll say is that I hope they get more man-power! I felt so badly for the person in the kitchen who had to handle everything on their own during the busiest time. The person at the till jumped back there to help speed things along, which was nice.

Google
very good. fench fried were undercooked. unsure if on purpose? tasted fresh, brioche style bread, tangy sauce on cheese burger. didn't notice drinks on online menu. would come often but they picked one of the most difficult areas to find parking.

I went with a couple of friends to their grand reopening on Sat, Dec 7. The restaurant is not quite polished looking, and one of our burgers had disassembled itself in the brown paper bag our collective order came in. But the food was solid! Would go again to try their milkshakes after the machine is actually working. They had the door propped open, but it was much too chilly for that. Thankfully the staff were okay with us shutting the door.

Google
The burgers and tots are really tasty. It’s a little on the pricier side and the food is a bit heavy so this is a once in a while kind of place for me.

Yelp
3.5 stars - Oakland Location let me talk about potatoes. I love potatoes. and I don't mean like some regular person who sees a potato at the store and goes mehh maybe. I say yes to potatoes. every time. I LOVE POTATOES. hard potato? soft potato? mashed potato? i'm in. invited to the cookout and no potato? i'm OUT. if man ever made potato protein, I would be the first in line so when I asked for a 2 fry order and got home to see only 1 fry order... you know I was devastated. upset, crying even. Tried to hide it from my cat but she knew.. she knew. my only hope is that I lock myself in my own kitchen and make an ode to the lost order of potato from malibus burgers at 7:02pm on a cold sunday night in the town. that or a refund. but a refund wouldn't justify. I want to walk in there and have them know I am potato king, and be greeted one time with my missing potato order. I want them to know my yearning. that and the vegan bacon (and pickles requested) was missing on the needy meaty and still needed more meaty but that's another story. would like to see yall thrive here as well as grant me the potato king crown, that is my wish

Yelp
This place flat out rules. For what it's worth, I'm neither vegetarian nor vegan. Malibu's goes toe-to-toe with any non-vegan burger shop in the Bay. The loaded fries are devastating, and the shakes also are great. Also the owner is super friendly and cool. Give these guys all your money.

Yelp
I'm so glad they've reopened in this new location! I am not vegan but I love a good vegan meal. The patty melt is delicious and I 1000% recommend getting garlic tots !!!! My friends ordered the cheesesteak with bacon and the milkshake and both enjoyed their food. It's fresh to order, which is something that I always appreciate. The establishment was clean and the customer service was great.

Yelp
My daughter and I have followed Malibu's Burgers on Instagram ever since they closed their doors on their previous Oakland site. We have waited patiently for their return to Oakland. Last weekend, after her dance practice, we finally had our favorite burgers. I ordered a Tasha Burger with Hella Hella Fries while my daughter opted for a La Lulu chicken burger with Stadium Fries. We waited along with another pair of customers in the open modern seating area. We were thrilled when our compostable tray made its way to our table after a short wait. Heavenly! Nothing beats Malibu's for vegan goodness. I made a point of telling our hostess/owner how grateful we are that they are back in the Town. We will absolutely be coming through. Sundays offer free street parking so we nabbed a perfect spot down the street.

Yelp
I'm really trying to like this place, but they have no consistently. I just ordered hella hella fries. I got stadium fries. I asked for the hella hella fries. The menu says cheese, sauce, and grilled onions are in them. I got no grilled onions. I ordered a patty melt the other week and they had no sour dough-- and the left the grilled onions off that. I LOVE grilled onions! Why have them on the menu if you never add them!!?!?!?!

Yelp
Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my experience. My order was given to the wrong customer, which suggests that the server or manager, Ray, didn't double-check the order numbers. While they made a new order to attempt to fix the mistake, the resolution felt a bit rushed and sloppy. The waitress Liz wasn't unfriendly, but her demeanor didn't come across as warm or welcoming--there just wasn't much of an inviting energy. Maybe it was me, but I didn't feel like a valued customer. The food also didn't have the same quality or care as the location on Piedmont. With all that in mind, I don't think I'll be returning.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite burger in Oakland. Highly recommend the classic Malibus burger

Yelp
This is the best vegan burger that I've ever had. They have other options, including the milkshakes.

Lacey W.

Yelp
Yay! They are back in Oakland. Oh how we missed them. So happy the gluten free buns are back too. There is just no other place that does a vegan burger better.

Henna P.

Yelp
Best veggie burgers served by the friendliest people!! I haven't been to the new location yet but I remember when they were in the Piedmont Ave area and I'm still thinking about the yummy food
