The 14 Best New Restaurants in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach County | Eater Miami

"Eyal Shani, who began in Tel Aviv, and caused a sensation when he opened HaSalon in New York, where guests danced on tables, expanded to Miami, and in December opened a West Palm restaurant of marble, metal, and cement, with a sprawling patio. The main room is dominated by a bar that faces huge charcoal grills, and it’s pure theater watching chefs sear fish, meat, and produce, as well as whip up hummus from scratch. Most diners start with the Instagram-worthy plate of vibrantly colored crudites and crisp falafel called “Nostalgia of an Old City Mezze.” Other favorites include chicken schnitzel filled with mashed potatoes, carpaccios (both roast beef and charred beetroot), and roasted squash steaks." - Beth Landman

Chef Eyal Shani’s Grub Street Diet

"A new kosher location built around an enormous open wood-and-coal kitchen—about 12 meters of fire—designed for Jewish-style slow cooking. The team experimented with different olive woods and multiple cooking methods (plancha, grill, oven, hanging above the flames) to test their influence on large cuts of meat; a kosher rib eye was sampled medium-rare with a charred exterior, seasoned simply with salt and pepper. Menu development mixed big-fire meat cooking with traditional Jewish items such as gefilte fish, matjes, schmaltz herring, horseradish, egg salad and tuna salad, though some prepared items were judged a bit too sweet. The opening involved intensive meat and wine sampling and close collaboration between the chef and his co-chef in advance of the December launch." - Paula Aceves, Sarah Kilcoyne

If you are looking for kosher food in Palm Beach this is a nice place with small plates. The waiter Nadav, suggested we order as all portions are large… I think he was confused between large and small! The schnitzel was the largest item only shareable for two not 4. The menu is beyond confusing and very unclear. On what is a meal and what is a side dish. The fish Shwarma was small but tasty, Don’t get me wrong the food was delicious but the portions are Not shareable. The Delicate minced ribeye wrapped in sourdough was nice sized and tasty. The squash steaks were nice sized. The food came and went in seconds as again they were not shareable sizes. The Mushroom pasta was a little oily but was smaller than any portion I have ever had at any restaurant. If you have to eat kosher then enjoy and it will be a pricy meal. If not, you will be disappointed in the portion sizes.

This place was super authentic and very delicious. Right as you walk in you get a smoky smell of charcoal and spices. You begin to think oh wow this smells so good. The outdoor patio is super pleasant with all the greenery design. Walking into the restaurant with all the presence of materials and architecture was super nice. Seeing the open grilles and watching the smoke behind the chefs was pretty cool. Also just the fact you can see how the chef's prepare the food. The workers were super nice and helpful. The food was very good. I felt like I was home away from home. If you’re looking for something modern and authentic with a twist of creativeness this is the spot.

If you are unsure of visiting here, trust me.. you need to go. The menu is a bit confusing at first but don’t worry, the wait stafff is there to help. My partner and I had the blessing of being able to be sat at the kitchen bar watching the traditional cooking methods and being able to see all the different dishes was a treat! Now for the food. Speechless. GREAT quality ingredients, simplicity at its finest. Refined , flavors , excellent use of quality salt and olive oil , I truly felt as if I was being transported to another country . Ambiance. Warm , cozy , chic . Service and staff OUT OF THIS WORLD we had the pleasure of speaking to Jason , Matthew and the entire kitchen staff that works together beautifully to create the masterpieces of this menu! They were a standout , warm , welcoming … we felt like family . Nadav was so sweet to show us the outside area and share some culture with us , we were visiting at a very special time in October . I left in tears at the beauty this place offers . One of a kind experience . Wholesome , unique and top of its class. Bravo! 10/10 thank you to everyone at Malka that was apart of this experience!!! Pictured is roasted eggplant , potato carpet , branzino in sauce , okra and baklava

Nice decor. Good food varieties and most had great presentation factors as well. Chomous should have come with a few pita wedges and warm garbanzo beans was a nice touch. Could have used more cumin and lemon juice. String beans served chilled was super flavorful with lemon zest. Flat potato was way too thin like shoe leather with fancy garnish. It tasted nice but for the price def need to be 2-3x thicker. Shnitzel and mash fried together was very juicy and delicious. Dessert should have gone with reviews loving sticky toffee pudding. Pistachio cake was badly under sized and no presentation value. Our Server Alejandro was fun and had a great personality and rapport with him.

Absolutely phenomenal! We loved everything we ordered. Great supervise, very generous portions. We are taking food home. Great atmosphere. We drove over an 1.5 because of Malka’s reputation. It definitely exceeded expectations.

Google
Celebrated my new job at Malka and couldn’t have picked a better spot! The ambience is clean and modern. Our server, Alejandro, was truly the best attentive, warm, and made the experience even more enjoyable. The food was excellent: the focaccia bread and hummus was outstanding, and the lamb kebabs and chicken schnitzel were both flavorful and perfectly prepared. As a kosher restaurant, Malka really sets the bar high. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service!

Upscale kosher cuisine in a gorgeous space. Service is very attentive & friendly. The dishes on the menu can be “hit or miss”, but usually very, very good. (The “Fish Schwarma” was a major dud, but the appetizers were outstanding). Fun atmosphere with an open kitchen. Newly-built restaurant. Seating available both indoor & outdoor. Located minutes from central West Palm Beach, and 15 minutes drive from the beach. This seems to be the only kosher restaurant in West Palm Beach or Palm Beach itself.

I went here for a date night and it was absolutely perfect! The food was beyond words — every bite was incredible. The chefs and cooks truly know what they’re doing, and the service was just as outstanding. The whole vibe of the place is amazing, cozy yet lively, making it the perfect spot for a special evening. I honestly can’t wait to come back!

Yelp
2/2/25 Malka in WPB is the hottest new restaurant. It takes months to get a reservation. We came here as a small group for a birthday celebration. Our server, Alejandro, was excellent. Most of the food is brought out family style as it is ready so we shared: caramelized onion flatbread, charred beetroot carpaccio covered in horseradish snow, Nostalgia of old city mezze, a very Israeli Hummus, roasted potato carpet, pile of green beans, The most famous Malka Schnitzel, classic ribeye steak, spicy instruments, roasted potato carpet, eggplant lines, apple crumble, and assortment of wine, cocktails, and Diet Coke in glass bottles (the lemon wedge took a few requests). All the food was nicely presented, prepared fresh, and very appetizing. My favorites were the caramelized onion flatbread, charred beetroot carpaccio, Israeli hummus, classic ribeye steak, and green beans. Because the food is shared we got to try everything and the check was fair for what we ordered. Looking forward to returning, dining in the beautiful outdoor space, and trying some more of Malka's specialties.

Yelp
Was super excited to go to Malka. Unfortunately, it fell well short of my expectations. Ambiance is beautiful and drinks were well made; however, we're there for the food. Hummus: simplistic, yet good consistency. Lacked flavor but the green chiles from the eggplant dish I added helped to enhance the flavor profile. You have to order bread or you'll be eating it alone on a spoon. Bread - good, but the tahini they served it with was tasteless, so luckily we had the hummus. Israeli salad - refreshing, small portion, but can deal with that considering some other items weren't as flavorful and this salad at least was well prepared as is. Eggplant - one of the better dishes. Lamb chops - an absolute JOKE. Two small lamb chops, 2 ounces, and one of them was mostly fat. I honestly don't know how they can justify serving that for $46. I got two bites out of my chop, such a disappointment. Branzino - we got the one w the flame and this was the best thing for the night. This dish had the most flavor, and thought it was a nice piece of fish. All in all, there is really nothing I will crave to go back for. My friends visited the night before and pretty much gave the exact same review. For two people we spent $250 and left with room for more food and disappointed. Beautiful restaurant, but if you're going for the food I would not have high expectations.

Yelp
So lets be honest. Go for the ambiance and service. Both were really Divine. Just DO NOT eat. We had a large variety of their offerings. Sadly one was more disappointing than the next. The famed signature stuffed schnitzel was like eating a roof tile, thick tar paper cover in gravel. The Bronzino was way over cooked, removing any fish substrate . the hummus was served in an unadorned bowel covered in (?canned) chick peas, not a dipping carrot stick in sight. Finally and the worst for sure were the desserts. Apple crumble was mush spooned into a Petrie dish and the baklava was a mass of gooey chewy served in the same manner. What a resounding disappointment. If you want a good meal, eat a your Bubbie's. one star awarded for decor and one for service.
