Hidden gem! this place is a labyrinthine maze of cool treasures around every corner. As another review said, I also got lost through CDs in the basement. The music selection is vast and more curated than your average antique store (I am used to sorting through massive stacks of Christmas and church music to find anything that interests me). Employees were all kind and every time my hands were full of things I was going to buy, one would appear to offer to bring it to the front for me so I could continue to browse. Will absolutely be coming back, hopefully for years to come.

So much stuff! I bought a beautiful fruit bowl. There’s a whole downstairs, too. The staff is very kind and helpful. One gal offered to take photos of things that match what I’ve been looking for. Definitely worth stopping in here.

Love going here! They have so many unique items at great prices. Easily can spend a couple hours here!

I absolutely LOVE this place. It's so much fun to walk through and see things from the past!! A BLAST from the past...lol. There's something for everyone...all price ranges.. ENJOY!!

This place is so cute!! I’m new to the area and found this on a random walk. The store was a lot bigger than it looks, and there are so many good finds. Everything is priced so well and I can’t wait to come back when I have a bigger budget.

Do not come here unless you care about supporting racists. Upon walking around, found a minstrel cartoon for sale for $17. I left immediately, however wish I had brought it to the front and at least berated them for trying to make money off a racist piece of history. Absolutely appalling that white shopkeepers are selling that and expecting someone to give them $17 for it when it should be destroyed or donated to a museum. Disgusting to be displaying that for sale where black people might have to see it. Though based on other reviews this seems to be a pattern of behavior so do with that what you will.

They don’t appreciate young collectors and are extremely overpriced. I went in here by myself as a teenager and the minute I walked in the employees of the store looked concerned and made condescending looks at me. When I was looking throughout the store employees were looking and staring at me as if I was going to steal something or cause trouble which made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable the whole time. As I was paying two employees at the front looked extremely concerned for some reason the whole time. As I was paying they said they have a $5 minimum for credit cards so I ran to pick something else up. When I ran the other item up it came to $17! The item I picked up was $6 so I have no idea how it came to that much but I didn’t ask because I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. Not only do they are rude to young collectors their items are EXTREMELY overpriced. I collect political items and their political buttons were so overpriced I thought I read them wrong. I can only imagine how much money the other items would cost. I came here a couple of times before but this time will definitely be my last.

Don't let the exterior of this marvelous antique shop fool you. The Mall of St. Paul is huge inside and I was looking at so many interesting things in the shop for hours! There are two levels of treasures to explore and a very friendly staff to assist. Parking was easily available on the street nearby. If you are looking for a goldmine of an antique shop, be sure to check out Mall of St. Paul!

Great selection. A lot of stuff is a bit out of my budget because I normally buy stuff at thrift stores but still fun to go in and look around. I have bought art there a few times.

Outstanding collection of everything. Well arranged, great pricing. One of the best! You will find stuff you didn't know you wanted.

This place is an absolute experience. An incredibly varied selection, this place is a collection of various vendors with their own small sections so the organization is a bit scattered, but great for relaxed browsing. Tons of different vintage goods, from clothing to housewares to jewelry and more. And just when you think youve gone through the store, you realize there is a maze like basement to browse through. Truly a cool spot with good product at a solid price. Just gotta have the patience to search through the whole place to find that perfect purchase.

The selection here is truly AMAZING and the prices are extremely fair. My friend and I spent about 2 hours here checking out all the treasures. I left with a fun vintage cat print, an older MN Vikings mug, and a giant fake pencil (iykyk) all for less than $50. They even offered to hold items for customers up at the front AND they have a bathroom - what more could you want? Don't forget to check out the basement!

This Antique mall in St.Paul was a unique experience. The mall was huge and had 2 floors full of things for you to look at, every corner was a hidden gem full of things which can be overwhelming but I think starting at the bottom and working your way up works the best. The employees are super helpful and nice and even offer to keep items you find and want at the front for you so you don't have to hold them while looking around. I ended up finding a super cute Garfield mug, 4 rings, and a special ring which was in a case. The glass cases have number or letters on them so if you want to check something out the employees are more than willing to get the key all you have to do is give them the code on the case. They have a huge selection of things from vintage clothes, jewelry, kitchenware, and even household appliances and goods. This is definitely the place to go and try your luck for that certain gem you've been looking for. Overall a great experience with great employees and even greater things to find! Go on a solo hunt or bring people with, you will find something to leave with.

Figured out how to do this place without the crazy overwhelm/claustrophobia/bad feelings: skip the basement! The basement has low ceilings, sketchy lighting, and is a labyrinth that honestly reminded me unpleasantly of Silence of the Lambs. Took me awhile to figure it out, but that's definitely why I didn't like this place. Hard pass on that shit! I went back a few times and noticed that if you just stick to the first floor, you'll have a great treasure-hunting experience.

I like this place. 2 floors of all kinds of stuff. And when I say "stuff", I mean STUFF. (wink wink nudge nudge (what does that even mean?)) It's laid out in a way that you can easily amble through and checkout all the different vendors. But it is stacked floor to ceiling so you really need to do some neck exercises before you walk in because if you don't, you might just miss something and that something just might be the STUFF you are looking for. The best part? If you are looking for something in particular, the people there know where most of the STUFF is and will either take you to the location, or better yet bring it back to you. (wink wink nudge nudge. I gots watchu need, or maybe not) Either way, based on all these places around town (Minnehaha Ave, W. 7th, University, etc), this is probably one of my favorite stores of STUFF. In addition, it is located across the street from other stores and after all your shopping, you can replenish next door at the Blue Door. If you time it right on the weekend, you might even hit happy hour. Get it? HAPPY hour? (wink wink nudge nudge)

This place looks like stuff from my grandma's house or some old stuff my parents had when I was a kid. They don't seem to know what a lot of their inventory is. Things that are labeled vintage (for example old photographs) are actually antique. I found a Turkish coffee pot (cezve) in the creepy basement that they had labeled as a "butter warmer" and some Norwegian rosemaling that they just said was "tole painting" - nice try.

The Mall of St. Paul is like the shopping equivalent of Mary Poppins' bag: it looks reasonable on the outside and then all of the sudden you're in a sub-basement maze filled with old Corningware and you're like, "How in the heck... is this the center of the Earth? Are you there Jules Verne? It's me, Annie D." Mixed metaphors aside, if you're looking for vintage housewares, you should definitely get your butt over there. It's a little overwhelming, but it's also fairly priced and hosts a whole variety of vendors that specialize in different eras and items, from board games to jewelry to mid-century lamps to fur coats to cassette tapes. As with just about every antique mall out there in the world with the usual co-op vendor model, some of the stuff is pure junk. And some of it is amazing. I'd recommend putting your name on the list over at Blue Door Pub before you shop, because you're going to need a beer and a burger after your thrifting expedition. I'd also recommend stopping at the other shops across the street if you have time, because you might be able to furnish your whole house from one corner. Maybe that would be a good challenge for an HGTV show.

Lots of stuff to sort through, very visually stimulating store with many booth owners offering a lot of variety. I do love sifting through things and love this place.

We stopped in here last night while waiting for a table at the Blue Door next door. I generally like this type of shop. I don't mind digging and I love old things, and I love the idea that one man's junk is another man's treasure. This place is HUGE... really big. There's a really vast selection of all things vintage, from records to dishes to books to clothes. It's a really fun place to look around, and some of the stuff they have is really, really neat. I can see that they don't take just anything -- it's not a junk store. Most of the items were in really good shape, clean, without cracks or chips, definitely able to be used in a new home. This would be a great place to pick up things for a the set of a play or costumes or even events where you need say, 20 mason jars or lots of different flower vases, etc. I took a trip down memory lane in the area where they keep all the kitchen stuff. I saw a set of bakeware my mother once had, some old-school Tupperware and a couple of items that were newer even that I certainly wouldn't have minded taking home. And while the collection is impressive, my biggest complait is that the store is just kind of musty. That's not to say it's not well-kept. The items are obviously cared for. But many of the ceiling tiles are brown and stained with old water stains. I know it's old stuff, and most of it is clean. But there's something about this store that makes you feel like you're inhaling dust, dirt or mold the whole time. I don't honestly know if it's the store space or the items stocked inside that make it feel this way, but I really felt like I could use some fresh air and a hepa filter by the time I stepped outside. I didn't even go down into the basement because I was afraid the air would be even worse down there. We also thought the prices were a bit on the high side ... and everything is tagged by hand with a price of $XX.XX FIRM. I get it -- you don't want people who will haggle with you. The prices are set where they are. But I felt like it was kind of tacky to put FIRM on every single price tag. Just my two cents. So I think in general, a fun place to shop and find some hidden treasures. But I wish they were in a newer, cleaner space.

There are dozens of vendor booths. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the environment welcoming. When I came in I told an employee what I was looking for and he directed me to a couple relevant booths. While checking them out another employee searched around, found similar items I might like and left them at the front desk for me to see. I spent over 90 minutes on the 1st floor and didn't have much time for the basement. The place is full of a wide variety of vintage and antique pieces. If you don't look you will not find anything. I didn't have much luck but many close calls will bring me back. 25 years younger, I would have left with several pieces.

I love coming to the Mall of St. Paul. I am always on the lookout for vintage 1950's printed tablecloths and teacups/saucers. I will occasionally find some other things. I mainly go to 2 or 3 sections / dealers in the store as I know they will usually have what I'm looking for. One thing I wish some dealers would do is swap out items/update their spaces more often. There are a few spaces that have stayed pretty much the same over the last year to year and a half. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bathroom in the store is always appreciated too lol!

Interesting assortment of gifts and unusual items. Much nicer stuff than you might find in any old antique store or salvation army. We were thrilled to find an original Kismet in its original box from a the 60s here and only for $10. Quite honestly I have to control myself here I could literally bankrupt myself in minutes in this place. It is packed full of trinkets and items for amusment and luxury from years past. It has odd photos, furniture, radios and lots of beer signs. Really cool, and worth stopping in.

I'm not going to pretend to know anything about antiques but it seemed like an over priced garage sale. This place is full of random junk. If you are into records they seemed to have a good amount of those. They also had a bunch of old school board games which is kinda cool. I did enjoy playing Super Mario Bros on the arcade machine and the gentleman up front was nice. Bottom line there are so many better antique shops in the twin cities, that I wouldn't waste my time coming here.

Enjoy a burger at the Blue Door Pub This modest-looking store is nothing but. SO. MUCH. STUFF. Lots of antiques but a lot of it is quite affordable as well. Lots of vintage clothing, particularly in the basement. The basement. Oh jeez. It's equally enormous and a little spooky, but when you make it back alive upstairs, you get a good feeling.

I'm sure there are better antique shops in the cities, but I typically enjoy this large - two floor - shop. I've purchased a few small things here for projects - scrabble pieces for magnets, wood blocks for baby name plates, kitschy gifts and a few older jewelry items. Things are typically fairly priced; however, every now and then there is an overpriced item - as is the case with all "antique" stores. The employees fluctuate on their friendliness...I'd have to say the main guy you see there all the time is typically not friendly. Worth a stop...

My brother is a student at the University of St. Thomas, and I was visiting him one week and needed to kill some time while he was in a class. Because it was a beautiful day and I had nothing better to do, I decided to walk around the area until I found something interesting. I'll be honest, I didn't find anything interesting for a while, so I instead decided to turn off the beaten path and just walk through the neighborhoods a little bit. Boy am I glad I did, because it led me to this Mecca of antiques. The Antique Mall in St. Paul is a huge (seemingly endless, in fact) shop with loads of great pieces. Loads of knick knacks, jewelry, hand bags, and (my favorite!) clothes! Almost everything was in great condition and I seemed to find something new to catch my eye every way I turned. I go back every time I visit my brother to see what new pieces they've brought in, and I love them every time. As I said, it's off the beaten path a bit, but worth the find!

Well years ago 2 of my favorite antique haunts closed up. Fortunately I found this place through my neighbor Rachael. I have actually spent up to six hours at a time in this place. They have a soda machine & a bathroom for just such an occasion !!! I found my yellow wall mount push button telephone there. Awesome place with all kinds of awesome stuff. There is sooooo much stuff here I spent hours looking! There is a lot of variety, you'll probably almost always find something you've been looking for. The only downside was parking, we did go on a Sunday and the bar was packed so it made it difficult to find parking.

Love this little haunt down from the Blue Door Pub. Tons of selection and with so many nooks and crannies, you could literally lose yourself in this shop. Eat first so you're not searching for a meal and a good bargain at the same time or you'll become dizzy ;)

While I never specifically head to the Mall of St. Paul, I do appreciate its existence. It has saved me many a long waits for BDP. This place is jammed with all kinds of oddities. I love the basement area the best. It has old clothes, furniture, afghans, and haphazard floors/ceilings. Seriously, watch your head and your step. My favorite purchase was a cute, vintage kitchen table here for close nothing. I also envy the colorful afghans that my friend purchased. A little confused by all the Missoni for Target merch though.

I had this place in my bookmarks of places to try.. I found myself in the area so I decided to stop by. Little did I know it was right new to Blue Door Pub! Love that place! So upon entering, you're greeted with that old vintage smell. And right off the bat your eyes go in to a crazy mode of "where do I look first?" This place is two levels, but I only had time to search the top floor. SO MUCH STUFF! I know they generally have sorted things out around the store, but there is just so much that it's really hard to go in with anything in particular to look at in mind. I did not purchase anything on this visit, but it doesn't mean that I won't be back! Overall, just a fun place to search around on a lazy day!

I scored some really sweet Nemadji Pottery from the Mall this weekend. It's not something you see everywhere but if you're a fan you scoop it up. Word to the wise - I didn't grab it all. The parking isn't the best. I was just there over the New Year's weekend and the snow was everywhere. I felt like I was parking in the middle of the road. Not the Mall's fault I suppose but it would be great if they had a nice lot.

The Mall of St. Paul is quickly becoming my favorite antique store in St. Paul and is giving Sophie Joe's on West 7th a run for their money! This antique mall seems to go on for days and don't forget that there's a downstairs. (I'm not sure how many dealers are in this place but it is well stocked.) If you are looking for retro '70's or '60's glasswear to gussy up your place, you can buy it here. I felt like I was on the set of "Mad Men" when I feasted my eyes on a '60's cake saver and six little juice glasses. They also have a fine selection of clothes and costume jewelry, records galore, and, of course, loads of knick knacks.

rocks! if you are looking for antiques - especially vintage clothing and shoes, this is the place to go. cheap cheap cheap!!! the store goes on forever and of course it wouldn't be an antique store without a basement. (and it didn't even smell). the staff was overly helpful and the store was organized located at the end of selby ave - and fairview there was a bathroom but i was too scared to go in - it looked very yellow

Its said the store is wheel chair accessible, only th front door and certain parts of the store. 90%of the store is inaccessible by a wheel hair the store is not really that handicapped friendly.

This place is the antique jackpot in St. Paul. My sister and I went here looking for teacups for our mom for Mother's Day and hit the motherload. Multiple rooms filled with all kinds of antiques and clothes. If you have time to browse, this is the shop for you.

The Mall of St. Paul is a gem of an antique mall for anyone interested in vintage items or antiques, or anyone looking for treasures of many kinds. I don't live in the Twin Cities, but when we return to visit family, a couple of hours here is a must. Nearly every time I've been in I've found something I liked and I often feel like I'm getting a bargain. The people who work there are friendly and patient while I ask them to unlock one cabinet after another. I just visited and walked away with two new finds and I'm thrilled. Did I mention the great prices? There's another antique mall nearby that is a bit more organized and a bit better curated, but also with notably higher prices. Me? I prefer the treasure trove that is the Mall of St. Paul. There are tons to look at and the reasonable prices make shopping here a joy.

This is a great antique mall. It is much larger than it looks from the outside so set aside at least an hour or two to browse. There is a restroom available to customers so you really can take your time! The majority of the dealers have really good prices. You can buy a bunch of stuff and not break the bank. In fact, I rounded up 2 paper grocery bags worth of bakelite era jewelry and crib toys, millinery supplies, 1950's fisher price, 1960's doll clothing, rhinestone buttons, and a 1960's pajama bag that doubles as a plush mouse friend and wall hanging for about $70 total. There are lots of wonderful collections tucked away in this mall that are so fun to look through! Also the staff members were very willing to run around to all the cases I needed unlocked.

I love this place. I go there every year to buy Christmas presents for my mom. They have tons of great vintage jewelry, clothing, and household items. They have two levels, full of interesting and unique items - it's so full it's almost hard to move sometimes. I have to be careful not to knock stuff over. :) The staff is also very helpful and friendly.

My 1st visit will NOT be my last! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I heard about it on My Talk 107.1... I'm a huge fan of Mall of St. Paul!

I love the Mall of St Paul! They have a great collection of antiques, with two levels and multiple rooms. They always offer a little treat at the front, too. They have everything from dresses, furniture, plates and records. They have a few color shelves that are filled with the same colors, which is very aesthetically pleasing. It's a fun store that I like to go to regularly. There is a parking lot, but there's also street parking. It's next to two other antique shops, so you can park and see all three for a fun few hours.

I'm an avid shopper of this thrift store, hands down, they have the best vintage Pendleton collection in town!

I love the Mall of St. Paul! I'm lucky to live in a neighborhood with an abundance of antiques and vintage clothing stores. The Mall of St. Paul is my favorite for vintage household items, though they also have clothing. It's my favorite type of antiques store: dozens of booths for different sellers, packed with stuff, a couple levels full of treasures, and great prices. PLUS, they are super friendly and always offer you treats and coffee when you walk in. Parking is super easy, too!
