The best toasted sandwich of my life, hands down. This place always delivers quality, hearty food, and the owners are some of the nicest people you'll meet. Now, onto the sandwich: the focaccia is a game-changer, made the night before and baked fresh every morning. The halal chicken, perfectly grilled and coated in a bold, spicy seasoning, pairs incredibly with the creamy Brie. Add in a fresh pesto, spinach, and then toast it all to perfection—when it’s done, the sandwich is pressed together, and the melted cheese oozes out with each bite. Absolutely heavenly. All of this for just £8. I'd bring my ancestors back just to have them try it!

I love the Antonio’s place. He is a true Neapolitan making Roman pizza. It feels like travelling to Roma with such great natural ingredients and pizza dough made fresh and a unique experience in London. It is a gem in the Bloomsbury area and worth the detour every time. Please stop by and spread the word.

Was just walking by and decided to pop in — the spicy chicken focaccia was seriously good. Back here again already. Lovely staff running the place

Really wanted to enjoy this place looking at previous reviews. Got served cold arancini that was stuck back in the microwave instead of a new one offered. Atmosphere was a bit hectic and frantic. Charged extra £1 for eating in despite collecting from counter myself. Couldn’t even get tap water because of no glasses.

My favourite local sandwich joint. Excellent all round - their spicy chicken sandwich is one of the best sarnies in town. Highly recommend for lunch.

Google
It's the best chicken sandwich I've ever had 🥲

I went to this place at lunch time. Pastas and pizzas are their main sells. I did find the pizzas to be poor value (£4 for a rectangular slice). The pastas did look appetising but there were no classics. I selected the broccoli risotto on display which was ceremonially taken to the kitchen not to be seen until 10 mins later only to return reheated. You are asked to pay only when it is packed which means you just hang round and orders do get mixed occasionally -‘risotto anyone?’. I do think the method of serving could be improved here. Overall it was a nice and simple lunch.

Google
I would say this is the most authentic home-cooking style italian food I’ve had anywhere outside italy. Consistently delicious recipes, too much to choose from.

Yelp
Delicious food, great staff and a friendly owner. I recommend Maletti's to everyone in London.

Yelp
Nice location. Yellow so you can't miss it. Malletti is a pizza shop, but it's a bit different from your normal shop. Firstly it's counter service only and you're served first come first served from the pizzas that are avaliable at the counter. Don't have what you're looking for? You're out of luck unless you're willing to wait for the next batch to get cooked. Upon arriving for the first time, they had plenty or tortellini which was delicious heated up. The pizzas however were very lacking in choice. Little did I realise that there were many in the oven. Anyway, I ordered what was avaliable, a parma ham and rocket margarita and liked that they cut me a nice big slice. The downsides however were that the pizza was dead cold. It had probably been sitting out for about 45 minutes and it was a dank wet day. Had it been warm, it would have been delightful. I can see it in my mind right now. There are seats by the window and more seating downstairs. But most people opt to takeaway. In terms of pricing, each dish, whether pizza or pasta is about £3-4, pasta was about £4-5. This seems reasonable for the area, but a little pricey for what is very simply made pizza. Drinks are decent at around £1-1.50. I'd go back again as the pasta was delightful.

Yelp
This place is pretty awesome. Thin and delicious square pizza slices. I am a big fan of the courgette and the aubergine is pretty darn good as well. My eyes are now on the leek and potato and/or leek and spicy pork. They sell two squares of one type of pizza as a portion (so a bit hard to mix and match). They also have yummy (although very indulgent) pastas (in other words creamy sauces and rich bolognese) and I've seen rissotto there as well. Plan to wait on the queue and wait for them to warm your pizza. For big orders, call in advance. They have seating and it is only open M-F during lunch.

Yelp
Oops, realised just now that I had posted on the wrong 'Malletti' - this is the one I meant to write for! --- What a cute little establishment with lovely, fresh, made-from-scratch pastas and pizzas at a ridunkulously reasonable prices...My combination of a lovely mushroom risotto and spinach/cheese tortellonis cost a mere £4.60. Just point at what you want and they serve it to you real quick - perfect for when you run out for a quick bite before rushing back to work. That said, I'd recommend eating by the window upstairs, rather than going down to the somewhat small, windowless seating areas downstairs...

Yelp
I used to go to Malletti all the time in Soho and in fact know the owner, Tony, relatively well as a result. It's therefore a shame that I find the zing of the Soho branch, with its zany italian owner and quirky pizza slicing italian chicks, less than present at the all male run Clerkenwell branch. The food is much the same but it lacks that certain 'je ne sais quoi' Perhaps it is the warm and personal Italian welcome that this branch of Malletti lacks, who knows. The best pizza and pasta in the neighbourhood by far, but a far cry from the originality, cool and warmth of the soho branch.

Yelp
So far the best place I've found for Italian style pizza in the Clerkenwell area. The selection is always varied, and changes daily and the food is always delicious. Two slices of pizza will set you back £3.50, or a Calzone will cost you £4.50, or you can get a slice of their great potato cake for £3.50. They also have 2 or 3 Pasta selections each day. It can get quite busy at lunchtimes, and it's advisable to check there is seating available before you opt to eat in, as downstairs can fill up quite quickly. The service tends to be quick, and the staff are friendly. My only criticism would be how they package their takeaway pizza, placing one slice of pizza on top of another with a sheet of greaseproof paper in between. The result is that when you get the pizza out to eat it, you have one slice of pizza base smothered in tomato, and a sheet of greaseproof paper with a cheesy mess stuck to it.

Yelp
Great lunchtime hotspot and have been a regular for a few years now at this branch producing some fresh and tasty Italian grub :-) There's no menu and some dishes are only available on certain days, so be sure to ask if there's one particular dish you're after.. My personal favourites are the Italian Chicken / Roast Potatoes, Potato Cake, Pork Belly and the Pasta. Not too much in terms of seating though but that's a minor point, 3/4 stools against a window on the ground floor with some additional seating in the basement for about 9/10 people.

Yelp
Malletti's pizza is excellent. I come from Rome, where pizza on the slab is very common, so I like to think of myself as an expert. Many available varieties (I went at lunchtime), all excellent I would say. I tried one with aubergines which was delicious, probably the best one, a non typical one with spicy salami and a very good four cheeses. Quality definitely suitable for a high end Roman pizzeria. Just one negative detail, the price is quite high. It is £3.5 for a piece (cut in two halves) which is not too large, I had two for lunch. But I'll definitely go to Malletti again for my pranzo.

Yelp
Best pizza in London. Not open on Sunday. Sold out before 3pm sometimes.
