Mallon's Homemade Sticky Buns

Cash only please be aware. This place smells amazing and they have delicious looking donuts and other treats. I tried the sticky buns and the crumb cake and both were good.8/2024 I tried the cinnamon roll which is huge and amazing! Must try when in Ocean City!

I’ve been a fan of Mallon’s for years. Recently I bought a dozen sticky buns for a colleague at work as a thank you. She said they loved Mallon’s in her family and that her husband makes French toast with the sticky buns. I was intrigued because I had also read about someone doing this in another Mallon’s review. I decided to give it a try and judge for myself. Awesome!!! I just did it small to try it but will next make it for my whole family one of these weekends. Pics attached. 👍🏼👍🏼

Accept no substitutes. Mallon's is the ORIGINAL Ocean City Sticky Buns. I have had a them from a few different places and these are the ones that take the cake. For years, we have ordered them in the winter time to eat on Christmas morning - it's a tradition. They have a pretty big selection of pastries besides the sticky buns, but. would 'stick' with those. They also have many new flavors but I would try plain first, they are my favorite anyway. TOP TIP: Slice the cinnamon buns like bread and fry them like French Toast! This is an unbelievable treat. This is my preferred way to eat them. All in all, this is one of the old staples of Ocean City. Mallon's Sticky Buns are what come to mind when I think about sweets at the beach. Don't miss this place!

You can tell from the moment you smell the cinnamon outside that whatever you choose to purchase will be delicious! There’s not a lot of room inside, so a line sometimes forms on the sidewalk. A nice gentleman was at the door letting people in and out to keep crowding to a minimum. Sticky buns were tasty and reasonably priced. Know before you go- CASH ONLY! (I had to go back out to my car and pray that I had an emergency $20 in my glove compartment!)😅

FANTASTIC!!! I ended up getting way more than I anticipated and I didn’t regret it one bit. We got three donuts to share. They were cakey in consistency, fresh, warm, and very good. The coffee cake was also very good. It was a harder topping than I preferred, but it was still very good! The iced cinnamon rolls were phenomenal! We got one to share, which was my only regret. And of course the sticky buns. At first I wasn’t happy that I had to buy them by the dozen and couldn’t just get a couple. Fortunately, you can get two different half dozens. So we got the plain sticky buns and the peach (fresh jersey peaches). Both were fantastic. I was glad I ended up having so many left over! My suggestion, is to hit them early in the week if you are staying down for a length of time. Then you can have plenty left over for the week with your coffee at home. The place was SUPER busy when I got there on a Monday morning at 7:30. The line was out the door. I was waited on in less than 5 minutes. Service was fast! It is CASH only, so come prepared (they have an ATM on premises but I’m sure the bank will likely take a nice fee to use it).

While the sticky and cinnamon buns are excellent, the butter cake is to die for. I grew up near a German bakery who made a prolific butter cake. Mallon's is right up there with theirs.

Ok...try this..just park downwind of Mallon's and you won't need the rest of this review! They have quite an array of sticky buns, donuts, and pastries to choose from but earlier is better for a wide selection. We went for pecan sticky buns and they were a delicious blast from my younger days here in Ocean City. The two girls serving were so nice as well. The buns are firm sweet dough with the "sticky" absorbed deep in the folds and lots of nuts. Absolute bliss!

First time disappointed at Mallon’s Price increased to $26 a dozen , and the dozen is only 6 full size buns and 6 half size buns. Need to get 12 full size buns for the price . Plan to share embarrassed to cut in half 😢

We are OBSESSED with Mallon's! They have multiple types of sticky buns and every single one is amazing although classic will always be my favorite! My family literally stashes them in our freezer so when it's the off season we can still have them bonus points for the fact that they're absolutely massive so they're basically a whole meal in themselves!

Man, this place has some slammin' sticky buns. I just had the regular which were absolutely delicious. We popped ours in the microwave for 30-40 secs each but we devoured them. They take cash only but they do have an ATM machine inside if you forget. This small place can be easily passed but it's worth visiting since they're not near the actual boardwalk. Make the drive or take the bikes for sure!

You have to either buy 6 or 12 sticky buns, off the bat but guess what? It's worth it because they are delicious. I bought 6 walnut-raisin and 6 original and the box seemed to weigh a ton BUT definitely worth the stop to get them. I will always want these if I'm ever back in the Ocean City New Jersey vacinity.

The sticky buns were awesome. If you haven't had one you must try one. They have donuts, muffins and bagels too!

This little bakery is such a gem; the sticky buns are so good, and the staff is absolutely wonderful. They have everything down to perfection.

Mallon's Sticky Buns are delicious! They are baked perfectly. The caramel like sauce all over and in between. Just the right amount of raisins and nuts. Mine arrived in two days. Sometimes they are still warm when they arrive but they are, always, packed very well. If you happen to be in NJ where their stores are when you walk in the staff is very nice, the store is very clean and the smells of the sticky buns, crumb cakes, donuts are heavenly. I wrapped the left overs in wax paper. I have found they taste the best when reheated in the microwave and don't forget the butter. Enjoy!

I'll be blaming Mallon's when I leave Ocean City 10lbs heavier. These sticky buns are dangerously delicious and addictive. They're the perfect balance of doughy, buttery, gooey perfection. Let's just say I ate 3 entire sticky buns in ONE day because they're THAT good! Run, don't walk here. Ps. I live in New York City where there are endless high-quality dessert options so my standards are very high!

Probably the best sticky bun I've ever had. Also got one piece of lemon pound cake for $2.50 for the slice. The only knock is that the min order of sticky buns is 6. It's be awesome if you could order them a la cart or a size like 3, but given the volume they do it understandable.

Mallon's sticky buns are the #1 way to my husband's heart. His absolute favorite food in the whole world. When we're not in Ocean City, I have paid a ridiculous amount of money for shipping/handling to get these babies delivered for special occasions. Worth every penny!

Their Sticky buns and muffins are great. I have been there many times and always leave thinking that the cashiers are not very friendly and occasionally borderline rude.

How nice to wake up in the morning and smell the aroma of fresh baked sticky buns. These treats which began in Philly and have spread across North America to me always taste better back on their native turf. Mallon's makes one of the best sticky buns on the Jersey Cape. You just have to choose your variety. I like mine augmented with raisins and walnuts. And Mallon's has two other Philly pastry treats for those hanging down the shore. They would be Butter Cake and Crumb Buns. Next time!

Excellent sticky buns! Great people! It's so aggravating when people review a business with an excellent product and deduct stars for ridiculous reasons; the teenaged cashier didn't acknowledge that a tip was put in the jar, the waitress didn't double mask, no hand sanitizer by register....People want reviews on the product!!

There's no better crumb cake or sticky buns in Ocean City or maybe in NJ!! The sticky buns are super dense and delicious. The crumb cake has a thick layer of crumb topping and moist cake. Go early, beat the rush and enjoy it.

I left one star out because this is the second time I left a tip right in front of 2 workers and received no thank you. I think they need to watch the Kramer episode on Seinfeld when he leaves a tip.

Great cinna-swirls - very big in size and fresh. It's a must stop every time we are down.

Best cinnamon buns around ! However, when I ask for a box for my sticky buns they put them in a bag and say they keep longer in a bag. I understand that but I request a box for a reason . I think the girls should do what the customer asked . This has happened numerous times . Just annoys me

It's a unique experience at Mallons. The wonderful smell of everything home made, the fantastic service, and the variety of the best cinnamon buns, coffee cake, donuts and everything there. The people are great and it's a first class experience

I know donuts and doughnuts. I love fresh made donuts and know they need to be light and dry: not wet with grease or stale or burnt. Mallon's has the best donuts in Ocean City. Their only rival for all time best donut shop is Yum Yum's in Philadelphia. The chocolate iced and am cinnamon sugar are amazing.

So delicious!! This is a New Jersey Shore must!! The Apple, Cherry and pineapple are among our favorites. They had full size orange juice, milk & cream cheese available for purchase which was really convenient

Mallons is ocean city. Just like voltaccos and their cheese steak. Manco and manco pizza....or should i say mack and mancos.... I pull in to OC stop at mallons for breakfast then to voltaccos for lunch and throw down mancos pizza on the boardwalk at night. Mallons belongs in this trio.

Ehhh. Girls in the shop were very attentive but personally cross over the bridge & head over to Chesters In Sommers Point. They are a million times better.

You can smell this place from a block away and the aroma just sweeps you off your feet and brings you to the door step like a cartoon. Thr place is cash only but has an atm and tax is included in the price. I got half a dozen of the plain sticky buns. This was so awesome, they melted in my mouth and they're homeade and it is a really great place for sticky buns, probably best I have ever had. I will definitely be back for more!

This place smells like a warm hug. If the aroma could be bottled I'd buy it. Love that they're open off season on the weekends since we usually come during the fall months. It isn't a trip to Ocean City without Mallon's.

This is an underrated bakery in ocean city! These sticky buns are so delicious, even more delicious to eat after waking up before dawn to catch a beach sunrise. Try these tasty sticky buns when in ocean city!

Mallons in OC, NJ has the best sticky buns....ever !! When we come to OC Mallons is usually our first stop on our way to the Condo. Coffee and we are set for the day !! The next day....it's just as good. Everyone in our family expects this tasty treat. Of course Grandmom looks forward to some back home. We stop back to pick up a box for her! Gotta try it !! You won't be sorry...

You ever have sticky buns in the morning??? Then you shouldn't eat candy in bed ......hahaha!!!! But you should eat Mallon's Sticky Buns anywhere you can (in bed, at the kitchen table, on the porch....wherever!!!). You may need to take out a home equity loan to afford the box of 12. But it's vacation, so splurge a little and enjoy!!!!!

Staple of Ocean City, and deservedly so. Not one week in Ocean City goes without picking up some original sticky buns, picking at them for a couple days, and deciding whether or not we should do another trip up to the store. Highly recommend trying them, and perhaps making them a tradition for yourself.

In the battle of Dots vs Mallons, we are team Mallon. It is no longer on the boardwalk but the location is about a 15 minute walk away. The crumb cake was excellent with a high crumb to cake ratio. The sticky buns were gooey, packed with cinnamon and delicious. I could eat a tray. Definitely worth a try for those visiting the area.

Keep it short and simple. The sticky buns are outstanding! By themselves, they are worth 5 stars. BUT ... you can only buy them 6 at a time. So no buying one of this or one of that to see if you like any of the non-standard flavors. Gotta say I'm not a huge fan of the bagels. They're not bad. A little dense (a little more so than, say, Lender's bagels). Service was nothing to write home about, either. A little smile would have been nice. Some modicum of friendliness. Nope. Just a deadpan face and "what can I get you?" But I'd still go back for those sticky buns any time I'm in the area.

There is alot of love that goes into the preperation at this local hot spot. The sticky buns are amazing with many different flavors, but heavy! The bagels and doughnuts are from a local place and they are great also. This is the one meal of the day you have a chance at burning off completely so if you are going to splurge for breakfast then hit this place up. You can smell the deliciousness from a mile away. (might be tough to live next to them though...ha) Don't forget your papers on the curb from the paper boy..and let him keep the change.

One of my very evil coworkers had these delivered to the office. I say evil because I have a weakness for sweets, carbs, and all around deliciousness and this met all of the criteria. There is currently half a box left in my office kitchen and I continue to walk past with lust filled eyes every hour on the hour. Why? Because these buns are so delicious that I somehow find myself gravitating toward them. I am weak. I'm in Chicago and this company is in New Jersey. Clearly the buns need to be shipped but they taste as though they just came out of the oven!

Mallon's makes the best breakfast pastries I've ever had. Now I know everyone goes on and on about their sticky buns but I for one am sold on their crumb cake.. Sooo good! And it's one of the last to sell out (yes, they do sell out of just about everything so you have to get there bright and early!) The earlier you get in, the more variety and selection you have, they actually have a wide variety of sticky buns (see their site for a full listing.) Off season, they are only open on weekends -- that's probably better for my waist line! haha!

I love Mallon's for so many reasons. It has been a family tradition for as long as I can remember. My grandfather use to come parading in the house on weekend mornings signing "The March of the Bun's". My favorite is the "sticky" bun with raisins and walnuts. My kids love the coffee cake. Really all of it is good!! The store is tiny and has character. It is always meticulous inside even with hundreds of buns coming out each hour. This is a family tradition I hope my kids carry it on as I know I have!

We went today and got a pan of their delicious sticky buns and 12 slices of their super crumb cake. They sealed them up for the freezer. They will be part of our Christmas morning. My husband is a Philly guy but he swears their bagels are the best! Remember, they do mail order!

Crumb cake has the perfect crumb topping and the most moist buttery cake to match. Sticky buns are also a must. Totally worth every calorie. A must have for every Ocean City beach house trip

The most delicious sticky buns! Although you can only buy the stick buns in half dozen or dozen, they are worth it! You might not even want to share them. They have just the right amount of nuts and sweetness. Their crumbcake is also super delicious.. but we say if you have to pick- get the sticky buns!

I am in love with the their Crumb cake- it is delish/awesome/etc., and the many different varieties of sticky buns are amazing! Highly recommend - you will not be disappointed!
