Malone Specialty Coffee

It's a nice space with some decent offerings. But, all the ambience, service, and seating aside, what matters the most are the beverages. Just felt a bit short changed on my drink. I think the cup was about 40% filled with the rest just being foam. If they could provide better value per drink, this is quite a decent place otherwise. Seating was comfortable and every group can be spaced out. There was a pacman arcade box with nice decor overall. Friendly service.

A delightful neighborhood coffee shop with relaxed seating, board games, and Pac-Man. Food is fun, with good ingredients and bagels daily from rockstar bagels. Specialty coffees are flavorful rather than just sweet, and their drip coffee rotates through local blends. The one I got was solid, and I had it black. Cardamom bun (5/5) - cardamom is like cinnamon in that its a spice that goes in sweet things, but isn't sweet. It was fantastic - soft and chewy on the inside, with crisp baked strands on the outside. Brancher bagel (4/5, shown) - the everything bagel is 5/5, and dense and chewy like a bagel should be. It's not sweet at all, which is good. Theres a stack of meat and a thin cream cheese holding it all together. The cream cheese could be thicker, but the flavors mesh well. Avocado toast (5/5, shown) - appealing to look at, tastes great. Good ingredients make for good meals. It's a good spot.

Ordered a large decaf iced coffee and basically got a cup of creamer (see pic). I was then kicked out by the ignorant employee who has zero customer service skills for asking about how they thought this was an acceptable drink. The customers around me pointed out that my drink didn't even look like weak chocolate milk and they said they would've been pissed. I've never been here before and this was the worst experience I've had. I've managed multiple stores both big and small box and this crew would never have made it in my stores. I asked for the owner's name and they refused to give it to me and they wouldn't even give me their names. I was told to leave and i wasnt welcome there. This was a disgusting start to my day and I do not recommend wasting your time or money on these immature, inconsiderate, rude people. I have never been kicked out of any business and I've never felt so humiliated as I did this morning.

The lavender matcha recipe is… unfortunately not good. It doesn’t taste like lavender, despite being sweetened with torani lavender syrup. The matcha was extremely clumpy and not well mixed at all and they used too much water and not enough milk. I ordered the medium iced lavender matcha with soy milk and I would suggest adjusting your recipe to the size of the cup maybe? Sometimes the barista blends of milk need to be steamed ever so slightly to incorporate the proteins and that might help? I think one more pump of syrup, less but maybe slightly hotter water to mix the matcha, more milk would have made this better. Other than that, atmosphere and wifi are great, good seating, not too cold or hot in here, and music isnt overwhelmingly loud- good for studying/working. Thanks!

I have been a customer here quite a few times, and overall the coffee is good and so is the food. However I must agree and further state that the service from the baristas is terrible. They usually don't mess up, but when they do and you ask them to fix it, they really do look at you like you're dumb and as if it's your fault. I order the same thing every time, EVERY SINGLE TIME, and once I noticed that my drink wasn't made with oat milk. No biggie. I DID pay for the oat milk sub, but it wasn't on the cup. When picking up my drink, before even grabbing it I noticed and asked if it could be fixed. The 20 something yr old girl just looked at me, rolled her eyes, huffed and begrudgingly remade it. Why, why why does everyone in customer service act like this? It's not just Gen Z, even older generations do this now. I get it, you want cute girls working at your store, but looks aren't everything. Get kind and helpful people. Thx.

This coffee shop is truly cool and cozy. The only downside is that sometimes you have to wait for your order for a while. Nevertheless, the overall impression of the place remains positive. What's especially pleasing is the presence of a children's area where kids can have a good time, allowing parents to enjoy their coffee and company. This is a nice bonus that makes this place friendly and family-oriented. The diverse menu of the coffee shop will please any visitor. They offer delicious cupcakes and not overly sweet sandwiches, making the food selection varied and suitable for different tastes. Everyone will find something to their liking. Overall, despite the minor drawback in service speed, this coffee shop leaves a pleasant impression. It's perfect for family visits where both adults and children will find entertainment to their liking. The tasty menu will make your visit unforgettable, and I happily recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy cafe for relaxation and meetups with friends.

At the top ends of Wells Branch in the shopping center at Bratton Lane is this hidden gem. I had an iced Americano, which was nice and strong, and a croissant sandwich that was delicious. I chose the turkey, bacon and egg with pesto. It’s not beautiful, but it was made to order and ready in just a few minutes. There is a sweet little spot for kids to play, and lots of seating options. The staff was nice enough, but I wouldn’t use the word welcoming. I like to be greeted, especially when there aren’t a whole bunch of people waiting. Customer service could use some improvement, but the food, coffee, and atmosphere was great.

Malone has a friendly neighborhood laid back vibe! On our most recent visit we enjoyed the almond bun and a lavender lemon bun. Both were yummy! We also enjoyed a few games on their free pac man arcade game!

Great local neighborhood coffee shop. I like it has light breakfast such as bagels, croissants sandwiches. It has great coffee and smoothies. Reasonable prices. It has a big space seating area. You can do some work in the back with your coffee. Typical coffee shop service.

Found this place online as I was looking for avocado toast closest to me. Walking in, I really liked the layout and style it has. Lot of room here. The staff was pretty busy as they were trying to fix some issues with the equipment they had. But we're super nice and helpful still. I'd give that item a 2/5. The ciabatta bread was a lot and over powered everything. The avocado tasted a little old too unfortunately. Would definitely prefer a cooked egg over boiled eggs. (Personal preference) As for the coffee I tried the spicy mocha and I'd give that 5/5. Very tasty and perfectly spiced. I'd come back for that.

Love Malone's & the fact that they are a local company makes them one of my favorite coffee spots. Hoping they come to the center/ east side of pflugerville one day! Very welcoming staff and decor. Decent size menu for drinks and breakfast/pastries. Love the southside Carmel, Perfectly balanced flavors. The 4 leaf clover is also delicious. I'm stuck on the south side though so my only suggestion is maybe they can offer a flight? I would love to try more things and a flight would be the perfect way to do so. They have plenty of in and outdoor seating and a play corner for the kids! Can't wait to come back!

Overall I like it here and it's very close to me. The only thing I'd would say is do not come here if you are expecting things quick they are pretty slow. It took over 20 minutes to get an iced coffee and a sandwich today and the sandwich came before they even started working on the coffee. But as long as you're not in a hurry I would recommend.

I just wanted to update my review on the Homestead Blend. I bought a 5 pound bag of beans. I love the resealable bag that Malone uses for their bulk coffee. It really helps keep the beans fresh after opening. The Homestead blend is amazing! I first tried Zilker, then Ethiopian. I think this might be my new favorite. I French press my coffee and this blend is superb. I'm definitely a fan of their coffee. A local roaster who does small batch roasts to ensure the best freshest coffee.

I used to always buy my coffee beans from here. The last time I went I bought 2 bags of coffee beans. When I got home and looked at my credit card statement I noticed they charged me $40 for both bags. Usually it would be $30. I get they made a mistake but I'm not buying coffee beans from here again. So my mistake to not check the amount before you paid. ** I bought the Brazil and over the Fence** by the way your email info@malonecoffee.com doesn't work.

I can't believe it's taken me so long to write a review for one of my favorite coffee shops. I love Malone's. I order through Ubereats regularly because they are so close and and FAST! Like, when I need my coffee and need it fast it is at my door in 10 mins. Amazing. My order is correct with nothing missing 99% of the time which is hard to come by these days. The coffee is tasty and doesnt make me feel strung out or give me a sugar crash like Starbucks does!! I also love that you can leave notes for your order. My only request would be to have more modifiers on the delivery service apps- like adding different flavors, removing ingredients from sandwiches, etc because I feel bad asking in the notes all the time! Regardless, you guys are amazing. Thank you & highly recommend!!

Nut allergy warning: Some drinks have almond milk by default, just read carefully. Overall a cute coffeeshop with mediocre coffee. I got to try a drip coffee (mine), the Austin Dream, and the Dirty Chai. My drip coffee was pretty light and had a nutty, buttery flavor. The Austin Dream was not too flavor forward but very chocolatey aftertaste and pretty sweet. The dirty chai didn't have much chai flavor. Service was strangely paced, as the espresso drinks came out quickly (~4 minutes) and it took about 8-10 minutes to get my drip coffee.

Lively cafe with good food and coffee. Atmosphere is inviting for getting work done or catching up with friends. Kid friendly with plenty of games to keep them entertained.

I love this coffee place, it's walking distance from house and they have plenty of chairs and table. Their Austin Dream is the best on the menu ! Insider tip: They also do pup cups and let them come in.

So Fika bakery and Malone coffee are in the same location, right across from Wells Branch Elementary. Site is nice, simple and cozy, good for a catch up coffee with a friend. The coffee was ok, I had an Americano. The pastry I ordered there was fine, some onion and goat cheese recipe but honestly it didn't meet my quality and most importantly flavor expectations , it was quite bland and tasteless. Also, they did not heat it up all the way through so it was cold and a bit soggy on the inside. I ordered three different types of buns to take home: lavender, cardamom and almond. I was very excited about trying the lavender one because of the comment, but they had labeled it wrong at the place and when I ate it, I thought all the pastries had absorbed the cardamom scent, which was not true, I actually was trying to cardamom one which turned out to be my favorite, as it was the less sweet of all three. I assume my expectations were quite high after reading the reviews of the pastries, but for someone who knows how to bake, I was a bit underwhelmed, not to say that the pastries weren't tasty, they just weren't worth the price in my opinion. The service was average, it felt impersonal and most of the barista's and cashiers looked like they really did not want to be there.

Great local coffee! We tried the four leaf clover and instant karma and both had a deep and rich espresso taste with specialty favorings. I don't recommend the bacon egg and cheese everything bagel. The sandwich as a whole was undercooked and lacked flavor. The bagel had a sprinkling of everything seasoning, but could have used a lot more. The bagel was far from toasted and was the bread was very fluffy. On the other hand, the egg ham havarti and honey croissant was delicious. The croissant was buttery and flakey, and the whole sandwich was toasted to perfection. This sandwich is sweet and might be too much for a breakfast. The cafe is very family friendly! They have children's toys and there is plenty of seating in a second room to keep the noise level low in the main seating area. Great location for a date or girls brunch too.

Cinnamon apple bun thing of pure dough-iness and not too sweet-ness is the best pastry I've had in a long time. Cappuccinos made right (dry!) - get them in a "for-here" cup with sprinkle of cinnamon and it's that much better. Even my doggie was trying to have a sip. Family and business friendly spot. So glad they're one of those that survived lockdown.

Another barely mediocre coffee shop in town with baristas who can barely pour espresso properly and cold, old pastries that taste like bricks and are filled with cheap ingredients. North Austin is so limited, it saddens me.

Terrific customer service!  My coffee was made with a genuine smile.  With my request for cream, the offer of half and half was presented, and that was fine. My bacon, egg and cheese burrito is on a terrific tortilla! Thank goodness it's not out of a grocery store bag of thick flour tortillas that stick in your teeth. This tortilla is light with just the right chew. The burrito is also rolled perfectly tight. I got a muffin as well, but was disappointed to see is came out of a pre-made grocery container.  Perhaps this lovely local shop could partner with a local bakery. Just a thought.

Very cool little mobile coffee spot in Austin. I walked up to it on a Saturday AM, there was not wait and the staff inside was super friendly. They were helpful in suggesting places around Austin to do some shopping. The menu was big and there were a lot of cool drinks to choose from. I had a difficult time deciding. The one I chose wasn't my favorite when it came to flavor, but that's ok. The coffee was strong and was of good quality. I would just pick something different next time. It just wasn't as I expected. I would definitely try it again next time I'm in town!

Great hidden gem! The food is amazing. Still figuring out what coffee to get, but not bad!

This coffee shop is my daughter's and my place to be every weekend. The Southside Caramel cold/hot, Nitro Cold Brews, Drip coffee, Turkey- egg- cheese & pesto croissant, and Avo- pimento cheese- tomato croissants are so good. If I have early or travel weekdays days, I always stop by and pick something up to go. I don't go to Starbucks or Einstein bagel anymore. This location is so convenient with plenty of parking and seating areas. Usually we pick it up but its so comfortable to have the weekend mom and daughter chats there while we wait. Try it soon!

I love supporting a good local coffee shop, and Malone fits that. They have a few locations around north Austin. Their brick and mortar store (located in a strip mall) shares a space with Dream Bakery, a gluten free specialty bakery. They also have a few specialty coffees like Austrian Dream and Southside Caramel that are absolutely delicious. Friendly service and delicious brew, what more could you want from your local coffee shop?

I was visiting from out of town and we came to this coffee shop because it was my cousin's local place. I was impressed with the coffee and our pastries from Fika were beyond good. The cardamom buns were delicious! They're hard to find around LA. Think we're coming here 2 days in a row. :)

This is a terrific coffee shop and cafe in the Wells Branch area, worth going out of your way for. The coffee drinks are in another league entirely from the big chains, and service is prompt and friendly. The recent synergic addition of The Fika Table, which provides Swedish/Nordic themed baked goods produced on site to accompany your java (see thefikatable.com), makes Malone's even more of a coffee-break destination extraordinaire. The shop is spacious, which is a good thing since the word is out that this is a great place to spend a little time with your work, your thoughts, or your friends, or a combination of the three.

Food is mid. Drinks are mid. Not worth it. Inside is vibes though. Workers are normal.

Yum! I ordered the south side caramel hot for me and the hot chocolate for my daughter. We also got the breakfast croissant sandwich...the one with pesto! I have to say I am very impressed with the drinks and sandwich! I could still taste the coffee which was a pleasant surprise. I've have way too many lattes that have been overpowered by the sugary syrups, but this was perfect amount of sweetness! No I didn't add specific instructions, because I wanted to taste as is first and it was perfect! The sandwich was just delicious. The croissant was able to maintain its crispiness on the outside yet still warm enough for the cheese to melt. The blend with the pesto bacon and turkey with the white cheese and egg were just perfect! Adding the pesto was brilliant! I've already told others about this place and cannot wait to return

This is a super quaint local coffee shop! They have a few "coffee trucks" around town, one is off Wells Branch/Pecan and the other in downtown, I think. Their brick and mortar shop is also up north off of Bratton Ln. Really friendly staff that'll help you find what you're looking for that day. Some delicious sandwiches too if you're hungry, my favorite is the ABLT (avocado BLT) croissant. I've tried practically all their lattes, where my top faves are the 4 Leaf Clover, Austin Dream, and Instant Karma (try them iced!) If you're a frequent flyer, ask them for the punch card so you can get started on your next free drink! Oh, and the business is super dog-friendly too! All wins

The service is great, and it's fairly quick for how busy it is. I've been about 4 times the past 2 weeks as I've been up in the area a lot recently and appreciate the convenience but the coffee has been subpar every time. I hate having people remake stuff, so I usually don't even ask but today I had had enough watered down, over creamed coffee and had them make me another. I don't think they know what a "tiny splash" of milk is, as even my remake was the color tone of a chai latte when I explicitly stated I wanted "nearly black". Long and short, This place is for people that don't actually like coffee. I love coffee and want to predominantly taste the coffee in my drip. I don't think they're incapable, I just think they've been told to put an excessive amount of creamer in as the standard. Which is not on the workers (who were very nice, accommodating, and all around chill!) but on the owner for setting said standard. As for their nitro brew, it is woefully under-brewed. Make better coffee, put less creamer in it. P.s. again, staff is great, super nice, kudos to them. Just make better coffee, please.

Ever since our first coffee here, we have been coming back almost once a week! I'm addicted to the Iced Southside Caramel latte - seriously a great start to my day! The staff are always really friendly, helpful and super efficient; I've never had to wait long for my coffee, even during a rush. They also have a great loyalty program that gives you free coffee once you've come in enough times. I don't know if I really want to get my coffee from anywhere else!

Discovered this place after grabbing food from Little Ola's. Malone has a lot of seating and the staff is really friendly. Seeing all the bags of coffee beans is a pretty cool sight as well. What makes this place unique is the flavors of their coffees. I've tried the Austin Dream and Instant Karma, and both were delicious with a nice nutty flavor in the coffee. Really excited to try more of their options, and you can tell the coffees are high in quality and at a good price.

I came to the fika table opening and it was a smash. A lovely interior, cozy with some live music and the delicious smells of coffee and baked goods. I got a cold brew which had that deep, strong, wake up taste and also cool and refreshing. The cookies and baked things were excellent, they were even giving out samples which made it easy to find a favorite. Great for a post hike pick me up or for a hang

yum!!! This coffee place is located in an easy to get to, easy to park, plenty of space kinda place!! They had lots of tables inside with both metal and super soft cozy seats. My friend and I met in there on a weekday mid morning and it was lovely! They are reasonably priced, have great food options, and it's just got a nice vibe overall. Oh, and clean bathrooms!!!! I think we're going to make this our new meet up place for coffee!

The people and the drinks here are great! I'm a pretty boring coffee drinker and typically drink everything black but their signature lattes sound great! I've yet to try the butter coffee but it has also been on my radar. The staff here has been super friendly every time we've come and anytime our dog is with us they have offered him a pup cup.

Extremely friendly and fast service. I got instant karma and my sister ordered an Austin dream coffee. I liked that they will make their dreams iced or hot. I'm just really impressed with this place, it was so incredibly welcoming and homey. The food was also delicious. My sister and I shared an avocado BLT and man....that disappeared into our bellies a little too fast. As far as COVID goes, masks are optional for those who are vaccinated. I can't wait to come back, as this location looks like it is a great place to have a chat with friends or a place to read.

Nice staff, kid friendly atmosphere and areas to play, plus great espresso! Food options are more limited after Noon, but great options for breakfast prior to.

This cafe has some nice touches like succulents on their tables and coffee roasters you can watch. I wanted to like it, but the service was so slow and disorganized near 3pm when a line of customers appeared. I watched all the people around me waiting ages for their orders and sometimes having to remind the two employees they were there. I had a very average breakfast burrito and a drip coffee that reminded me of a Peets Coffee Major Dickison's that may be nice for others but has a bad sour taste that no matter how much sugar you use never goes away. I won't be back, but wish them well.

Always delicious. I love every kind of latte they have, my "go-to" is to order the lattes 1/2 sweet. I prefer supporting my local coffee shop over places like Starbucks.

Malone has officially became my new favorite local coffee shop!! I've gone in about 4 times now and have not been disappointed once!! Customer service is an A+ & the pesto egg turkey sandwich is phenomenal !!! For coffee try the instant karma, I haven't even tried anything else on the menu because those 2 things are so great!!!

Love the service here at Malone! They just opened up their kitchen added a new breakfast dine-in only service. Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce with English muffin and fruit medley or French Toast with whipped cream topped with a fruit medley We went with the French Toast and Ms. T did an excellent job! So tasty, fluffy, and the flavors blend together and melt in your mouth! You've got to give it a try. So yummy!! If you have time to enjoy coffee and dine-in -- high recommend it!

My first time in and I'm told they only take cards. Very disturbing. I bought the coffee anyway and it's good but I won't be back since they don't take cash.

I recently ordered a bag of roasted coffee beans from here. I loved that they roast to order and can deliver to your home if you live within their delivery radius. The bag itself is resealable to preserve freshness. I ended up getting the Zilker blend and brewed using a pour over method. The coffee tasted smooth and delicious black without any sugar or cream. Notes of berry with a sweet finish. If you're looking for a local roaster then this is your place.

I tried this place instead of their little shack by HEB. I wait over 30 minutes for two coffees. It wasn't even busy, and two customers who ordered after me - the same drink - received their drinks before mine. Apparently, your strung out batista kept saying out loud how she couldn't think and clearly was messung up orders. I had to walk up and reorder my drink. Terrible service, and yall need to reconsider who you hire. Drink was terrible and cold- I ordered a hot beverage. ZERO STARS

They have a lot of people working, seemingly excessive for the amount of customers. It seems unnecessarily long for a latte...they have 6-7 people working and only 10 customers... Seems a bit unorganized...I was weirded out by the multiple cameras on you while you're just ordering coffee...

Gave three stars because the coffe is amazing!! disappointed in the breakfast sandwich I received which was avocado tomato and pimento cheese... I literally got a few tiny pieces of avocado, not worth the value :/ Their breakfast sandwiches are all so good but be prepared to wait a long time if you order anything other than coffee.

Great coffee run by really nice local family! I highly recommend the Austin Dream drink.

Good place to come if you're looking for a cup of coffee. The barista recommended the "instant karma" coffee, and it was very delicious! Great customer service as well.
