Malta Beef Club - Leblon

"Brazil has no shortage of carnivores, so the expectations of locals are particularly high, but if you’re dreaming of top-quality red meat, the Malta Beef Club is a mini-paradise. This stone-clad corner restaurant is run by cousins Sergio and Marcelo Malta, who have dedicated their lives to the beef business. They offer the very best cuts of meat to customers, though there is something for everyone on this menu. It’s a perfect place in which to eat out with friends." - Michelin Inspector

At Malta the star of the show was undoubtedly the incredible selection of meats. Each cut was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and bursting with flavor. Accompanying the meats were some fantastic side dishes that complemented the main courses beautifully. Whether it was the creamy polenta or the vibrant seasonal vegetables, every bite was a delight. What truly impressed me was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, making excellent recommendations and ensuring that our dining experience was seamless. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, though do keep in mind that the space is quite small, which adds a cozy charm but can get a bit lively during peak hours. In addition to the quality of the food and service, the prices were surprisingly reasonable given the prime cuts of meat and thoughtful sides. Overall, Malta Beef Club is a true gem for meat lovers looking for a satisfying and memorable meal.

The 1/2 Rib was amazing! Unfortunately the sides let it down a lot. Creamed corn wasn’t nice - I didn’t even eat a spoon. Garlic bread was sweet but the garlic paste / butter inside was overpowering. Chips were so dry. Staff didn’t understand I didn’t like the food. It was super cold in there.

This place was reccomened to me by a Brazilian friend in Canada . I'm happy I went. The pastel de carne was full of meat and I liked the red pepper jelly with it. The bread from the garlic bread was soft and fairly tasty but didn't blow me away. My steak was cooked nicely and seasoned very well, I'm a big fan of salt so I didn't mind, but it may have been salty for some. First experince with broccoli rice and it was good. I also have a Caprinha and a giant glass of wine . I thought the price was reasonable as that meal could have easily fed two people , although I almost ate myself sick because I liked the steak so much and basically finished it alone. My server was friendly and spoke some English to me as I tried to use my terrible Portuguese .

The best steak in Rio and so far in my life. We were celebrating my b-day and tried several dishes - all of them were amazing. Steak mignon, slow-cooked ribs 🤤 and picanha. All of that was super juicy and flavourful.

This is my favorite steakhouse in Rio. I come here almost every time I visit Brazil. I love to get the skirt steak or filet mignon. I have mine done medium and it’s the most tender cut, seasoned well!

Excellent option for a steak house in Rio de Janeiro. Recommended the "fraldinha" cut, portions are generous. very good selection of side dishes and appetizers. Service was helpful and attentive. A little on the pricey side for Brazil

Really delicious spot for meat (though it can be on the rarer side) but also vegetarian dishes - the mushroom burger is quite good, the broccoli rice is delicious, and the brie bites and the banana fritters are yummy. Staff is very friendly though the service was a bit chaotic. Nonetheless go hungry and you won’t be disappointed!

No Joke, The best meal I’ve ever eaten in my life! The Picanha Steak was cooked to perfection. Waiters were very friendly to us with great knowledge & advice on what we would enjoy. I’ll be dreaming of the food for many years. Romantic and classy venue
