visited ystad for a day trip and maltes mackor stood out based on its high reviews. it's a sandwich stop in the middle of the town with a small amount of outdoor seating--most customers get takeout. service was friendly and the employee kindly explained the menu and recommendations.
// bengali bbq sandwich (98sek) //
we decided to try the best seller, bengali bbq sandwich. people raved about it so i got my hopes up, but i was underwhelmed.
the sandwich is a decent size, maybe on the smaller size. it has a drizzle of bbq sauce and bengali (sambal) in the mayo and was advertised as a bit of spice. however, it was not spicy at all and i felt like the bbq and bengali flavors were too subtle and struggled to shine through. the rest of the sandwich was good, but it tasted like a pretty average sandwich.
