25 Kid-Friendly Austin Restaurants That Aren’t Boring

"The Davis Spring restaurant is named after the owners’ mother, who raised three kids on her own while working in Mexican restaurants. The para los ninos (for the kids) menu offers flautas, grilled cheese, and lots of other options, and the patio has a small grassy area with some games. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Erin Russell

Visiting family in Austin, they chose this place for Sunday brunch. Great vibe, we sat out on the patio. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The relaxed atmosphere makes you want to spend time there to chat and breathe. The house made chips and salsa is very addictive. The food comes out hot and wthin 20 minutes of ordering. Very tasty and good portions. The 3 of us were very happy with our choices. With the plethora of Mexican choices, this was a great suggestion, where they also make the tortillas in house, have great people working there with tasty authentic food that will not stretch your wallet.

Google
Delicious Tex-Mex food, spacious interior with outdoor patio, great customer service and lively atmosphere. Food portions were generous, you can spilt into 2 meals if you can’t finish. Love that they give complimentary chips & salsa as an appetizer! Heard they’re known for their fajitas which was served on a sizzling stove. Will definitely be back if we’re in the area. Call ahead or check in online because there was a wait to get a table.

This place gets crowded, but we were seated within minutes. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the music was neither too loud nor too soft, allowing us to enjoy dancing a bit. Our waiter, CW, was exceptional. He made my wife and me laugh during one of our toughest times as parents. He also catered to our needs perfectly, ensuring that our drinks were never empty and that he was always available if we needed anything. Our appetizers, main courses, and drinks arrived shortly after we placed our orders, and the food was simply amazing! The flavors were delightful. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be returning to this place.

We tried Betty's for the first time the other night and were not disappointed! They don't take reservations but do take call-ahead spots, so we were able to get a table for 8 with no wait on a holiday evening (Memorial Day). All of the food was excellent! My husband got the plato carnitas and said it was some of the best that he's ever had! For someone who grew up south of San Antonio, that's saying a lot! I got the chicken fajitas for one, and shared this with my grandma. I didn't think it would be enough at first because it's a smaller portion than most fajita plates at other restaurants, but it proved to be just the right amount. The service was great and the staff was friendly. We will be back to visit again!

Google
It was very bland. The tortillas tasted like paper and felt like it too. The meat, rice, and salsa were bland and pretty much flavorless. The queso and chips tasted like they were bought from the store and simply microwaved. Yet I would’ve preferred the store bought version since at least I can pick out what brand actually tastes good. The chips tasted like basic dollar store chips that you’d only resort to because it’s Super Bowl Sunday and you ran out of the good chips for your dip. I’ve had a lot of great Mexican food, and this isn’t abhorrent or causes illness. It’s just bland. You can get so much better, for so much less, and with pretty much no waiting.

Rarely do I rave about 1st time dining experiences but if there was a time it was deserved it’s now. I can’t believe how incredible my meal my tasted. Stopped in impulsively on my day off, sat at the bar asked the bartender her recommendations and Bianca (bartender) absolutely delivered! She recommended this skinny margarita that hit the spot, a lunch portion of the fajitas that literally arrived UNDER 10 minutes sizzling. The steak was phenomenal and the way it paired with their garlic butter (heavenly), and their tomatillo salsa was phenomenal—- literally goosebumps. I have no connection or any form of prior association with this restaurant or the employees so when I say this I mean it. MUST. TRY. ASAP. Shoutout once more to Bianca 👏🏼👏🏼

It was my 🎂 birthday 🎉 and had a great meal. My server was great and fajitas was on point. Ambience was great and place was clean. Will definitely come back.

Google
Can’t go wrong with the steak tacos and guacamole! The steak was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the guacamole was super fresh, my son couldn’t get enough of it. The service was friendly and fast, which made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back.

Yelp
Been here so many times now and also love the ambience, service , quality of food and everything ! This ones like a neighborhood restaurant for me as it's super close to us. It has a beautiful patio which we love - as a toddler mom it works best for us to entertain our little one and enjoy a great meal and drinks ! Talking about drinks - lots of different things to try and I always love their martini ! Their salsa are amazing as well as their homemade chips and tortillas - food portion size is great as well. Staff is always sweet and service is top notch - hostess always checking any paying attention as well as service is quick . This is a great choice specially if you love for a Tex-Mex restaurant especially if you want flavors that pop. Every visit has been exceptional ! Lots of parking available in the lot ! Definitely Definitely recommend .

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a milestone birthday for my girlfriend with her family. There was a miscue on a outside seating reservation that I attribute to a bigger party taking priority that afternoon. Partly understandable, but disappointing to trust a special occasion to a restaurant and have them flounce. Overall, though, atmosphere--while a little busy during a weekday happy hour, was good. We were seated in large circular booth with ample room. The happy hour margaritas were decent and not watered down. The food was passable, but I'd have to say we drove past many better options to have dinner here. Service was good but our waiter seemed overtaxed and we barely got in a second happy hour drink order. Parking can be a hassle. I had to park at the far end of the strip center, which made it hard since two of us have a temporary disability. We chose not to take the off road option and park in a muddy lot out front. It turned out okay--but just okay. I wouldn't drive that distance for a similar experience again--and there are restaurants I would. Sorry, Mama Betty's. You need to do better to be a destination.

Yelp
Our service was great. The restaurant over all and the bathrooms were clean. We sat outside on the patio. There was a band playing music which was nice. It wasn't too busy. I had a pineapple mimosa. Nothing spectacular. I couldn't taste any pineapple but it was a mimosa. Very typical for what it was. I ordered the enchiladas Tejas for myself, two kids meals (cheese enchilada and nachos) the queso compuesto and the barbacoa quesadillas. The enchiladas were spicy but the flavor was different than I'd ever had in an enchilada. I didn't like it. The quesadilla was pretty good. The queso was decent. The kids meals looked very meh. My daughter pushed her nachos away after a few bites. Overall it's a decent place. The decorum and atmosphere is better than the food. I'd stop in again for the music and maybe another drink during happy hour for the ambience. It's not bad but it isn't great either.

Yelp
We came here with local family on 04.05.24 - they raved about the place and live close by. After eating here, I can say that I, for one, am kinda mad yet kinda glad we don't live close by. Since we were a party of 8 showing up on a Friday evening, we waited a bit for our table. As busy as the bar staff was, they kept us adequately hydrated during our wait and were super friendly despite being overwhelmed a bit with all the business. When we got to our table, our server was also super friendly and attentive. I was craving enchiladas, but when I saw Mexican Fried Rice on the menu - I had to try that! The chips and salsa we nibbled on while the order was being prepared- these chips had to have been made by El Diablo himself, they were that good. Both the red and green salsas were to die for - the red tasted super fresh and the green had a nice spicy tang to it. When the Fried Rice came out, I didn't know what to think. The toppings of shrimp, pico de gallo, and a gravy were all kinda sectioned off. I mixed the whole bowl into a delicious mess and went to town on it. The vegetables, the rice, the shrimp - all were cooked to perfection. The eggs were beautifully prepared, as well. My lady got herself the Tacos Del Mar (seafood tacos) and loved them, also. I think out of the 8 of us, only one person needed a box for leftovers. For the food, the service, and the atmosphere, we would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. We can see why this place is such a hit and as popular as it is.

Yelp
Made a return visit to Mama Betty's for first time in a couple years. Took the family and grandkids for some yummy TexMex with their creative spin. We sat out on the back deck and enjoyed a gorgeous day with margaritas, good draft beers and tasty queso. Our server Eliana was super, making sure our experience was top notch. We had Mexican fried rice, taco salad, tacos and a chicken chili relleno, all tasty. Flavors were solid but could have used a touch more flavor. The salsas were outstanding though. We'll be back-definitely a repeater for us.

Yelp
It's always a nice place to get tacos or some other type of Tex Mex food. I ordered the Carnitas with corn tortillas. They were filled with lots of meat and delicious. It was crowded today, but we managed to get a table. Our server, Madison, came by numerous times to ensure our chips, salsa, and drinks were filled. Today, we sat outdoors. It was covered, and there was a nice breeze. Thank you, Mama Betty, for another great dining experience.

Yelp
Never a dull moment here at Mama Betty's! We've become regulars at this point, haha. Always a place I recommend when it comes to first dates, wanting Tex-Mex food, chill day/night out. This is the place to go! We are bar flys since we tend to like the quick service and conversation. Today we sat at table and had the pleasure of having Matt as our waiter. He was nothing short of amazing! Fast and polite and on point! You would think this man was an undercover boss lol. We also got to meet Brian, the manager, just casually walking by making sure service was to par and meals were at satisfactory. 10/10 plus! Food, service and ambiance is perfect! We ordered the fajita dish for 2 and added some grilled shrimp. The dish comes out sizzling and with a generous amount of sides (rice, beans, cheese, guacamole, salsa, pico). We also had two types of tortillas, corn and flour all made from scratch. The food is delicious and flavorful. We also ordered frozen Grand Ma's (frozen margs with grand mariner floaters) bomb, just bomb! I'll continue to come here because of the staff, food and drinks. What more can you even ask for!

Yelp
This was my first time at Mama Betty's and I can definitely say it will be the last time as well. Food - Very Bad Ambience - Very Good Service - Very Good Complimentary chips and salsa - very good , only the red salsa though the tomatillo was too sour Food wasn't good at all. I ordered chilli relleno with chicken filling. There's an option to choose either pulled or fajita chicken, fajita chicken is extra $$ which is what I ordered. The basic cut of the chicken didn't look like fajitas, they were perfect cubes like it's either frozen or canned. 2. I've never seen a chilli relleno dripping with oil and super crispy, I stopped after my first bite.the taste was super bland 3.The rice and beans were bland without any flavor too. This was a disappointing experience , I do not recommend it unless they do well in other dishes that I've not tried.

Yelp
My wife and I just had a date night and it was great. The food and atmosphere were amazing. We really enjoyed it and plan to come back soon.

Yelp
I have been to Mama Betty's three times and each experience was just as good as the last if not better. Everything is made to order and fajitas are slap your mama good! They get busy and stay busy, but I assure you its worth it. By far they have become my favorite Tex-Mex spot in the area. I brought a friend with me and she loved it so much she came back the next day with her family.

Yelp
When I tell you it's a fun and happening place, baaaaby this is it. The. Food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. We never wanted for anything. We were told a 45 min wait on Fri nite, place was packed, so it was understood, but they had us seated in about 15 min. Now mind you, we were in from out of town so we were going in blind on how or what we would get. Mama Betty's did not disappoint. Full bar, great chips and salsa and the best sour cream chicken enchiladas i have ever had. The ambience was a family friendly place. They had a play area for the kids. 10 out of 10 for our visit. If in Austin, please give this place a try. We will be back when back that way. lol

Yelp
After my disappointing first visit to this restaurant when they had just opened, I was quite hesitant about returning. However, after a year had passed and I read some positive reviews, I decided to give it another shot since it was conveniently close. This time, I was pleasantly surprised. I opted for the shrimp fajitas, which turned out to be delicious, especially with the accompanying special sauce; unfortunately, there were no green peppers and the refried beans had a thinner consistency. The queso was good, although it could have been a bit warmer. The chips were excellent, and the service was incredibly impeccable. Nicole, our server was quite impressionable. Overall, I left the restaurant feeling content, and my guest also enjoyed their meal. I'm now looking forward to returning and trying the initial dish that disappointed me during my first visit. I'm hopeful that it has improved in terms of flavor. I'm genuinely glad I gave the restaurant and its offerings a second chance.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch with some colleagues after hearing so many great things. We were VERY impressed! We were seated immediately and our server came by for a drink order within a minute or two. The server was very friendly and attentive - we always had what we needed! The food - wow! Queso is some of the best around. We ordered nachos for an appetizer and they were also delicious. This is a great place - absolutely lives up to the hype. Now I just need to come back and try their margaritas!

Yelp
On this lazy and absolutely BLAZING hot Sunday afternoon in ATX, the hubby and I decided to try a different Mexican place for brunch than our usuals of Matt's El Rancho or Lupe's, and I ran across Mama Betty's on Parmer. One of the previous Yelpers wrote "FRESH MADE TORTILLAS" twice and in those caps, so we were totally down to try it because that's a HUGE thing for us, as well! LOL! For realz, though! The place is big and super nice and cozy! Bonus points for them playing the Spanish version of Eye of the Tiger when we walked in! Ha! Their music is on point! The chips are my favorite type! The puffy and textured type. Yum! Hubby and I dug both sauces, too! As for what we ordered (besides two or five delicious skinnies, natch!), we elected to start with the Queso Flameado (because it's my total obsession at Ninfa's on Navigation in Houston, and I'm forever on the lookout for the proper Austin dupe!) Queso Flameado: OMGGGGGGGGG! Literally identical to my OG! I'm shocked! It makes me wonder if Mama Betty (May she rest in peace!) ever worked at Ninfa's while she was in Houston! Whatever the case, Mama Betty's just won the brunch for me! Just stupid good! *drops mic* Even though the mic has been dropped, my hubs declares that brunch must still go on! LOL! For our (let's be honest, his) mains, we're going with Huevos Rancheros and Betty's Omelet Tradicional: Huevos Rancheros: Hubby says that this was classic, unctuous, and satisfying! Betty's Omelet Tradicional: Hubby says that this was super fresh, light, and full of veggies and cheese. Fantastic! Will we be back? $&@in' A, we will! Bleepin' yes! P.S. Shout out to our adorably sweet server, Alex! He was smooth as silk and a fab Mama Betty's dining guide! P.S. 2 Yep! It turns out that Mama Betty actually did work at Ninfa's! Mystery solved, and it's even more of a reason that we'll be back, as if we needed another one! P.S. 3 FRESH MADE TORTILLAS This place is SO great, y'all! Thanks, Mama Betty's!

Yelp
After 3 visits in a short time, I can only rave about this place! The ambiance and space inside and outside were wonderful, the drinks were strong, and the food is what keeps me coming back. We received good service with each visit. the staff is very friendly, but seems to be fresh and a little unexperienced, but I'm sure they'll get the hang of it next time. Great for parties! Reservations only up to 1.5 hours prior to coming in. And I'll be definitely be back for their Barbie Chicken, so moist! So tasty! A must order!

Yelp
Showed up for lunch on a Sunday and discovered they have brunch on the weekends - score! American stuff for the kids (pancakes) and plenty of options for adults. The chilaquiles were good (eggs were a bit undercooked with slimy whites) and the potatoes were well seasoned. Will be back for brunch!

Yelp
Although the drive is a bit far from Manor we are always guaranteed a great visit with Mama Bettys. This round we both went with the Barbacoa Enchiladas, which you just dont see on menus....and they were delish!. Service is always good with the flow of water and chips. There are plenty of other items on the menu we want to try so its on a permenit rotation, and a good excuse to visit my sister-in-law.

Yelp
This was our second visit to Mama Betty's. The Bean had developed an affinity for the cuisine and the service is always top notch. This trip we were waited on by CW. A pleasantly vibrant individual with a very personable demeanor. As always, it's practically standing room only. Get reservations!! However, for a party of two, they don't do reservations. Our wait time was about thirty minutes. We partook of a martini and mimosa while we waited. TV screens punctuated the background at the bar, while the entire dining area consisted of pleasant conversations, satisfied stomachs and hearty laughs. Our course consisted of the beef and chicken enchiladas combo for two and its accompanying accoutrements, and a tasty Mexican pastry whose name escapes me. Chicken was juicy while the beef was tender and deliciously seasoned. There was cilantro lime rice, black beans, charro beans, and lettuce, tomato, and guacamole for the enchiladas. CW made sure our food was good, drinks were fresh and to our liking. Even offered recommendations for the Bean for fruity adult beverages. He was the highlight of an evening filled with great food!!

Yelp
I came here for dinner by myself and sat up at the bar. The bartenders were super nice and friendly, and the overall vibe of this restaurant was very lively and nice :) I got the pechuga westchase which I forgot to take a picture of but it was very good! It was a thinned out piece of chicken with a super thick cut of bacon (more like fried pork belly tbh) topped with avocado and suiza sauce. I enjoyed this, however the bacon was mostly fat but that's ok. I also got a spicy marg which was super good but definitely pricey. Overall I really enjoyed my time here.

Yelp
First time coming and had a great experience! Food, service and ambiance were all great. Our server Carlos made it an awesome experience and we're excited to come back and bring visitors and friends!

Yelp
It was a flavor fiesta! Honestly that is how I can only describe my experience eating here. I went for the tacos and they were packed with flavor. Just the right amount of spice and all the fixings. Absolutely hit the spot!

Samyukta S.

Yelp
LOVE Mama Betty's! Amazing ambiance indoor & out, and service has been mostly good! This place is my favorite Tex Mex hands down, with the caveat that you need to know what to order. The menu items are hit or miss, but when it's a hit it's a HIT! Favorite things to order: Start off with a margarita! The margs are strong and delicious! I love the Deb's half & half (half frozen, half on the rocks). 1. Veggie Quesadillas. Not something I usually go for but at Mama Betty's these contain a nice blend of veggies cooked to perfection & are bursting with flavor! They serve the quesadillas with some sour cream & pico de gallo - all so fresh & delicious. 2. Tacos A La Betty - this is my husbands go to order. He gets it with steak and loves it! 3. Nancy's Enchiladas De Mar - creamy, delicious goodness. These shrimp enchiladas always hit the spot. They are quite heavy - are a good choice if you're feeling extra hungry! They have a really big kids menu which is awesome. I recommend sticking with the Tex Mex items for kids, there are lots of fun and interesting options! My daughter loved the La Madison (chicken flautas). I have tried and been disappointed by the Tacos del Sur which IMO lacked flavor, as well as the El Rancho bowl which is essentially an overpriced & smaller Chipotle burrito bowl. The other thing to keep in mind is that on weekends, this place gets PACKED! We're talking a 2+ hour wait on fri and Sat nights! I wish they offered an online waitlist option. Plan ahead and go very early if you want to get in on a weekend.
google avatar

Lisa G.

Yelp
The patio is lovely especially if it's not 110 outside. The food is pretty much the same each time we go. I like that in restaurants. They are busy, but the service is usually pretty good and wait staff friendly. We typically get the combo fajitas which are really good. We love the gravy that comes with them and the fresh tortillas. If you love Tex-Mex the way my hubby does this is your place. The margaritas are always on point!
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Betty's makes good food. This is a great choice for a Tex-Mex restaurant especially if you want flavors that pop. The steak fajitas are clearly marinated in a savory spice. The chicken fajitas are succulent and delicious. The enchiladas are huge! The only down side is the weak and bland salsas. Visit for lunch to avoid the crowd, and expect to pay $20 or more per person.
google avatar

Dani S.

Yelp
I don't live too far from Mama Betty's and was craving Mexican food so I decided to stop by. I stopped in on a Friday afternoon around 2pm. Their were a decent amount of cars in the parking lot in front of the restaurant but to my surprise, the place was fairly empty. I took my seat at the bar and started off with a Ginger Lemonberry Martini. For lunch, I ordered the Elidas Enchiladas Verdes. The drink was ok but the food, 10/10 would recommend lol. I don't know what they put in their salsa but I'd drink a bowl of it lol. Especially the green salsa lol. I also liked the chips. They were very light and crispy. As quickly as my food came out, is as quickly as I devoured it lol. I'd definitely go back for the food, quick service, and nice atmosphere.
google avatar

Ruthanne R.

Yelp
Hey, so this was bad. Queso that is JUST melted cheese and oil. Fajitas that came out in a couple of minutes with no sizzle, delivered with gravy - yes, you read that right, like Thanksgiving-style gravy - in a little ramekin. Margaritas heavy in simple syrup and very very low in actual alcohol. Fresh chicken is not that chewy. It had clearly been reheated. So had the flour tortillas. The people were nice, but the food was flavorless and bad. The only benefit was an astroturfed area for children to play.
google avatar

Crystal R.

Yelp
This is by far probably my favorite Mexican food place to eat in the Austin area. First, they always keep it clean. Lots of seating inside with tables and big booths. Very cool decorations, nice size bar area with several tvs and plenty of seating in there to eat at as well, and a fun outdoor space with seating and play area for kids. Staff is typically very friendly and they check in often for refills etc. The food. The chips are the medium bubbly type chips which i love. The salsa is super tasty and not too spicy. The queso is very tasty, it is a little on the thinner side which i like personally, much better than thick. The food is always good. We typically come for the fajitas! The meat is always so tender and juicy. They are generous on the portions too. It comes with 2 types of sauces but we just ask for the butter sauce and extra of it, Soo good. You also get to chose your side of beans and you do get cheese and all the sides with it. I also sometimes order the flameado, super tasty. My other favorite thing is the homemade fresh tortillas made there and you can watch them being made. Warm and fresh, can't beat it! We will for sure be back.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service, and nice vibe. The only thing that could have been better was the music blaring over the speakers. First it was some sort of techno Latino music which I found annoying. That's just my preference. However the main issue was how loud it was. My wife and I went there with another couple. Normally we are screaming at the table for the kids to eat their food or to stop kicking under the table. This time we were screaming to have a "normal" conversation. I get if they have live band that things are gonna be loud or perhaps later on a Friday or Saturday evening. But this was a like 4:15 PM on a Friday- you gotta go there early to avoid a wait. Anyway, staff is friendly and while the place is always busy, staff works hard. Food is at least on par if not better with every other Tex-Mex food place. Worth a visit.
google avatar

Talia T.

Yelp
I come to Mama Betty's often. The staff is always friendly. I love the vibe of the place, usually late afternoon/evening time it's very lively with great music. If you're looking for a quieter time to go, go early afternoon! Keep in mind after 4/5pm there is usually a pretty good weight. It really is random on how long the weight is depending on when you go! The drinks always taste amazing too. La Playa is my favorite margarita! The food can be a hit or miss, sometimes the meals taste incredible with great flavor and other times the meals lack flavor in general. They've also got some great chips and salsa/guac salsa!
google avatar

Erin Y.

Yelp
Reviewing LIVE! This is my first time here. I came because everyone on YELP said this place was a good one. It's True! It's a busy Saturday night and I came to have a Mexican Martini. There were no seats at the bar but the host(I later learned he was actually the GM) told me that he had a spot for me near the bar. Once the chips and salsa came, I knew I had to have a bite to eat so I ended up getting the crunchy tacos. They were yummy and filling (5/5) and the Mexican Martini was perfection (5/5), great taste and strong! Service here is impeccable! EVERY person who passed my table checked on me so I always had what I needed. The music was really good too. Mama Betty's is the TRUTH!
google avatar

Chuck L.

Yelp
Betty's has quickly become my top 5 in the area. Cadillac margs are freakin amazing. Chips, salsa, queso - all on point. Service has been great for our recent visits and ambiance is upbeat & fun.

Yelp
2nd time here and they did not disappoint. Service is friendly and attentive. Food is fresh and full of flavor. The interior design is fascinating. Love it. I had mimosa flight and a chili relleno and I was so pleased.

Yelp
Excellent customer service and food! Tacos, beans, rice and margaritas are all A++! Looking forward to going back to try more items on the menu!

Yelp
Cade was absolutely awesome as a server! The food was tasty and the food came out really fast! We had a table of 22 people and they handled it super well! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Solid Tex-Mex I think! I've only been to 3 places in Texas that claim they are Tex-Mex, and this one is my top choice so far. The atmosphere here is vibrant and fun. We were immediately served with chips and salsa. Both salsas were tasty! We ordered the queso compuesto to start, and it was okay. It wasn't the best queso I had, but it was still good. I ordered Elida's Enchiladas Verdes, and they were very flavorful. Filled with chicken and topped with a very yummy verde sauce. My husband tried Suizas de Sandra and enjoyed his meal too! They tasted like a creamier version of the enchiladas that I ordered. For dessert we got the Tres Leches! I am a Tres Leches snob because I grew up with it for every birthday. This one was good. Not amazing, not terrible, but good.

Yelp
We stopped in Sunday evening about an hour before close. Wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. The service was great, our drinks were refilled and chips without asking. They had TVs on kiddo movies and cute animals, and good music, not too loud. With the tables they had, maybe half full, we were still able to have a quiet conversation and hear each other. They bring a red and a green salsa, both had great flavor. We tried a small Queso and it was good as well. I had the Enchiladas Tejano, and added a sunny side up egg, and the mister tried the chicken fajitas for one. The rice is flavorful, both the charro beans and refried were good. The enchiladas had great flavor, not spicy but roasted pepper flavoring. We will be back, looking forward to trying their Sunday Brunch.

Yelp
I've been to Mama Betty's three times and I wanted to love it. I just can't comprehend paying extra for grilled onions and peppers with fajitas! And for $4 extra?? The grilled goodies should be a given! The last time I went I ordered a mixed green salad with chicken. The menu listed the salad as having sliced avocado, bacon, hard-boiled egg, black beans, fresh cucumber, tomatoes, jack cheese, and crispy tortilla strips. There were not a lot of black beans or veggies except for lettuce and the chicken lacked flavor. The margaritas have been pretty good and it's a cool vibe inside.

Yelp
Outstanding Mexican cuisine, can be tough to get into but there is a reason and worth the wait

Yelp
We've been here twice now. We came with a bigger group this time (8 including two high chairs). Our waiter (Max) was incredible! He was very capable, knew the menu like the back of his hand, able to multitask between tables (kept an eye on our drinks to make sure we never had to wait for one) and was as friendly as your best friend. He honestly made the whole experience great and single handedly makes me want to be a regular at this place. Oh, and the food was incredible :)

Yelp
This is our favorite local brunch spot. Good food, good drinks, and the Spanish covers of American music in the background gives it a fun vibe. I'm a fan of the Migas. Wife usually gets the Omelet. The patio is great in nice weather. Only thing we don't love is the loud families with children running around out of control, but the restaurant can't do anything about that. At least, the kids have an outdoor play area. Highly recommend it for brunch.

Yelp
The food is wonderful. The chips and avocado salsa are great. Service was good and fast Ambience is too noisy. If you have a group and went to converse, sit outside. The inside music and people shouting to be heard is too much.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our experience. Our waitress was pretty busy, but she held it together and did a great job. Food was fresh. We really liked the salsa and queso. We plan on going back!!

Yelp
Mama Betty's is a nice restaurant with adequate Mexican food. I've had much worse and places that are better. But this place is good!

Yelp
Always great service, friendly staff, and great food and drinks. Wonderful atmosphere for larger groups as well.

Yelp
Had lunch there today. While the place and atmosphere is nice the food was very average Mexican. And pricy. Our server was hard to tie down so I would say that was average as well. For our money we won't be back.

Yelp
Mama Betty's and the Carrier family have created something here that is incomparable to any other Mexican restaurants. Not only is the food phenomenal, the ambience and family atmosphere are unbeatable. There is something for everyone on the menu, the staff is fun, light and engaging, the grassy area for kids to run and play is hard to beat and the drinks... well, they're enough to make you need an Uber home. This space is one where you can go, relax, let loose and be yourself, no pretense whatsoever. Come as you are and enjoy this locally owned family establishment. And get the MamaRita while you're at it.

Yelp
We came here with our friends and it was a huge hit! Who would have thought that Tex Mex would be so delicious! We were able to order drinks outside but our table was ready before our table was. Eventually the alert said our table was ready. We were seated and let our server know that we had ordered drinks at the outside table and she was able to get our drinks for us! It was a Thursday night at 6 and they were super busy! It was difficult to find parking but we found some after stalking a person to their car. Their chips are super fresh and delicious and they bring you two different salsas! The red salsa was a little hot for me but the green was a winner! We then ordered our food which was a big hit! Very flavorful and tasty! The ambiance was a little hectic but it was nice. I would definitely return here. Next time I will try their happy hour because it was on and poppin! They seem to be a very well esteemed restaurant!
