Great place to eat. Great atmosphere, super good food. Excellent service. Clean and updated. Nice booths, a few tvs if you want to watch something, and very comfortable. We had the spinach ravioli and chicken Parmesan. Both more than excellent. Try the garlic rolls. We will definitely be back. Go. Try it.

Such a quaint little spot! The beef lasagna is probably the best lasagna I’ve ever had! The staff was attentive and extremely friendly. Amazing choice for dinner!

Google
Food was great! Atmosphere is adorable. Friendly service. The price was a little above what I was expecting for a pizza place in Clayton but the food was well worth it. I split a house pizza, garlic rolls, and an antipasto salad and left very happy and very full.

The first thing you notice about the Italian restaurant is the slope parking. They did a good job with it, but if you have kids or older folks that can't fight gravity to open the car door and walk up a steep incline. Plan to drop them off at the door. After that, the issues drop off. The service was excellent, and the portions were good. There is a lot of cheese on the chicken parm, which surprised me, but the meat sauce and whole dishes are very good. The Ceaser sald was yummy, and the garlic knots and pizza were my sons favorite. We will be back.

Google
Overall, this is a nice Italian restaurant. I really like the spaghetti and meatballs, our friends love the chicken Parm and the fettuccine Alfredo but my wife was not too crazy about the sausage lasagna. Love sitting out on the deck and service was quite good. The bill was around 50 bucks.

Mama G's is an unexpected gem in the middle of Clayton. We went in the middle of the day on a Monday, so there was not much of a crowd. All around amazing food! Fried mozzarella, the calzones, and the baked ravioli did not disappoint. Service was very good. Definitely worth the stop!!

Google
I must preface this review with the fact that I had heard wonderful things about Mama G's. However upon arrival I was met with a empty hostess/host station no customers in line for a table and a few minutes wait until a hostess arrived to seat my party of two. After being seated we were promptly attended to by our sever who by the way provided excellent service. I chose the veal parm and my significant other went with the lobster ravioli, we both opted for the 6 dollar additional side salad. Salads were brought out promptly and were small, lackluster, and one hell of a profit maker for the establishment... Before we were half way done with our salads; we were hungry so we were eating them rather quickly mind you, the entrees were thrust in front of us with a be careful the bowls are hot. BOWLS.... When has veal Parm ever been a thing served in a damn 8-inch salad bowl?!?! , I felt a little concerned at this point as the veal Parm is 18 bucks, i found a small patty of what one could only assume as mechanically separated slurry that looked nothing like veal had a slate grey color and the aroma of a freshly opened can of alpo dog food. (Not implying that it was dog food just merely stating what it smelled and resembled in odor) I tried a small bite, it had no flavor of veal but purely of some sort of filler and mush, I then promptly moved to the pasta that was exposed on the other half of the bowl, to find it drowning in a red water not a sauce. I don't send food back, that's just not me but I flagged our sever down and asked him if to send it back to the kitchen and ask if they still in house breaded the veal as it says on the website. He returned prompt and apologized, asked if I wanted something else from the menu however I had lost my appetite by this point. He offered a dessert as well and continued to provide excellent and prompt service. The serving staff seem wonderful and do a great job, but the food was sadly a massive disappointment.

Google
Great Italian food! Our food was excellent. We had Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo and Spaghetti and it was all very good. We also had calamari for an appetizer and it was good but not great. We didn't get any tentacles only rings. Prices are OK, not high but not low. Garlic knots that came with pasta were good. Atmosphere was nice with indoor and outdoor seating and a large bar with TVs. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
We are camping at River falls at the Gorge in lakemoint. Went with friends on a Thursday night. Seated right away. Server was very pleasant and we got our drinks. My husband and I had the veal parm it was very good. One of our friends got the lasagna the other had the Alfredo with added chicken. They also said it was good. My husband and I returned for lunch today and I had the Michele pizza it was awesome and my hubby had the lasagna which it really enjoyed. Highly recommend and We will definitely be back

Yelp
The wait was somewhat long but the food was worth the wait! We would visit this place again!

Yelp
The best Italian around! Such a hidden little gem with multiple different dishes for everyone.

Randy S.

Yelp
Salad is always good at Mama G I like the House salad with Cold Chicken and the homemade House dressing. Oh and Garlic Rolls I just love Mama Gs

Yelp
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner on the porch at Mama G's and it was phenomenal! The pizza is bomb, and the pasta was loaded with cheese. I really enjoyed the salad too. The server was awesome. The porch was perfect for our families and DO NOT MISS the garlic knots!
google avatar

Crystal P.

Yelp
Mama Gs is definitely popular, likely because it's the only Italian restaurant in town. We found the food bland and lacking in flavor. I did enjoy the Greek salad, but the spaghetti was meh at best.

Yelp
Stopped out of necessity, not many restaurants open on a Monday. My husband got the veal parm and I got linguini and clams in a white sauce. Meatballs for an appetizer. All were fine. Nothing qualified as delicious. Our server was mildly pleasant but all other servers and hostess shot daggers as you were walking in and out with no acknowledgement of any patron. The hostess just stared at you and never said a word let alone welcome or hello. It was very strange and off putting. Unsure if it's a hostile work environment or their resting state is being miserable. Food was moderately priced, generous portions, clean and not a long wait for the food but given the level of hostility towards patrons, I think we'll eat somehow here else when passing through again.

Yelp
We've been here several times since discussing have been everything we've tried, from lobster crab Yolie to the big sandwich it's always fresh, hot, and delicious!

Sherrl L.

Yelp
Went there for dinner kinda late right before Christmas the dinner started out good our dinner was delicious but my husbands calzone came out wrong and while sitting waiting there for a server to come check on us everyone finished their meal and also drinks and our server Madisyn was no where to be found we flagged out the host and told her the problem as she said our server would be right out and another 10 minutes went by finally the server comes out and is very rude and monotoned about our drinks being empty and calzone being wrong and that was the last I seen our server I don't think they should be in the industry if they can't take "criticism" about out $20 calzone that came out wrong and 40 min after we initially got our meals. Might be back but requesting anyone else

Dianna M.

Yelp
Definitely nothing to rave about, the pasta was oily and it over powered any taste the rest of the dish might have had. You can see all the oily in the dish. My husband said it was a step above a MRE. The service wasn't anything great either, waiter didn't even introduce himself and barely checked on the table. When we travel we like to try local places and this place was definitely one we wish we didn't try.
google avatar

Lynn S.

Yelp
We ordered food to go. Wow! Now I know why this place is so busy! I had chicken marsala and my husband had spaghetti with meatballs in a marinara sauce. It was out of this world delicious! The garlic bread that came with. It was amazing as well. Definitely will be back!
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
Impressive!! Our family of five ordered pizzas as well as pasta dishes, and it all came out quick and hot!! The mushroom ravioli with alfredo sauce was awesome. Lots of sauce to sop up with their buttery rolls.
google avatar

Kayla Q.

Yelp
Came around 3:30 on a Saturday. We were sat right away. We ordered the garlic rolls, cheese bread, papas mean shrimp and the parmesan chicken. We share everything lol. We got our appetizers within 10 mins and food within 15 minutes. Service was good. Food was good. Only complaint it is they took a while to bring our check.
google avatar

Yelp
If you like Italian, you gotta go here. The food is always tastes freshly made and service is friendly. My favorite is the Lobster Ravioli with Alfredo. Stuffed with lobster meat and the Alfredo isn't too heavy. I get it every time. My hubby has tried a few different things, he has loved everything. He found the Chicken Wings and Meatballs are a great value and gets them every time to take home for next day.

Douglas F.

Yelp
This is an authentic north Georgia tourist trap. It's okay and that's it. The food was nothing to rave about and the service was too good as in herd them in and herd them out.
google avatar

Frank B.

Yelp
Excellent food and friendly service. Wife had Ziti and it was wonderful. Large dining room so they accommodate a large group.

Bridget T.

Yelp
Bad customer service. They would not let us use the restroom after dinner because it was 10 after closing time.

John W.

Yelp
Party of four received outstanding service from Mario! Everybody was delighted with their dinners. Very convenient Handicapped Parking. A great selection of wine and beer. Absolutely no complaints!
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
Typical Italian fare. Sadly was not impressed with the quality of the food or the service. Still trying to figure out how the server misunderstood my order of chicken Parmesan with a side of fettuccini Alfredo to mean Alfredo sauce on the chicken instead of the marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese instead of the mozzarella. I tried to eat it - it was terrible and when I asked him to re-fire it correctly, it was like I insulted his mom... eventually, he did redo it correctly - but by the time it came out my entire part was finished eating.
google avatar

Rico A.

Yelp
I've never eaten here. We called from Mama G's parking lot to ask if our dog was allowed in their outdoor seating area, and the answer was 'Yes'. So we immediately went to check in with the hostess and she said dogs weren't allowed in the outdoor seating area. Adios.
google avatar

Gus G.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and had a great meal. My son and I split the Tri- color tortellini and a Greek pizza. Hot garlic bread was served with an amazing Cesar salad. I highly recommend Mama G's.
google avatar

Dixie B.

Yelp
We had been told by family members that Mama G's was a good place to eat. And, we even tried to go with them once. Alas! It was closed. Recently, though, The Granddaughters came up, and they wanted Italian. So, it was off to Mama G's for us. The favorite item on the table with everyone but me (the gluten intolerant) was the bread. The Girls are ready to return just for that. But I should mention that they also have some gluten free items, so no worries for those among us who suffer. Service is efficient, with folks flying around to get it done. This is a good place for family dining; take the kids!

Yelp
Large capacity family dining Italian restaurant with a bar. The atmosphere was laid back and calm. The wait staff talked very little, only stopping to ask if food was okay and if we wanted anything more before serving us with the check. I liked that because it makes me feel like I'm not being rushed out. The Lobster Ravioli with Alfredo sauce was scrumptious! It doesn't seem like much at first but it comes with a buttery garlic roll (very good!) and was quite filling. My 5 year old ordered the kids Ziti, with marinara sauce. There was one large meatball in the middle of it that was a nice surprise because I had actually asked the server if it had meatballs in it and he said no.. lol.. well he ate it bc sometimes he does like meatballs. I was thinking the ziti would of had some baked cheese over the top but it didn't, it was pretty plain. The food came out in just a few minutes and the prices for both dishes were on the lower end for your average Italian restaurant. I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! My husband and I didn't feel like waiting and sat at the bar this time. I got a Greek salad and Chicken Parmesan. It was delicious. Of course the main reason I like coming is the garlic rolls!! I could just eat these as a meal. Haha! The drinks we got at the bar from Megan were great as well. Customer service is always wonderful. We will continue to come back when in the area!
google avatar

Cynthia B.

Yelp
Food was good, nicely prepared. Hot and tasty though not the best I've ever had. Service was attentive and took good care of us. Ambiance was family-oriented, lots of locals. Plenty of parking right in front.

Yelp
Went in on 10/19 for dinner. We had a 20 minute wait which was fine but I immediately noticed on the floors, napkins, straw wrappers, and limes (multiple). Servers continually walked right by without even thinking about picking anything up. My wife had lasagna which was okay and I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and added meatballs. Meatballs had to have been nuked because they were hard and had no flavor. But the kicker was they didn't bother to drain the pasta which caused the meat sauce which was actually pretty good to quickly blend in with the watery pasta. I would NEVER eat here again. PS-all the napkins, straw wrappers and limes were still sitting on the floor an hour and a half later. It was really disgusting and a lack of management oversight or if there was oversight they just didn't care. It's the little things you know.
google avatar

Trudy M.

Yelp
Food is phenomenal!! We've tried several dishes in the past 2 months. The baked ziti & eggplant Parmesan are our favorites. ALL of the desserts are out of this world! My favorite is the limoncello cake. Great service and friendly.

Susan L.

Yelp
Pizza crust was the best ever! Crunchy on the outside, light on inside, better than on Italy! Everything was delicious!

Robert I.

Yelp
Went there last night for csual dinner. we had small antipasta salad, garlic rolls, latge pizza and a glass of wine for $33. All excellent. Garlic rolls are to die for. good service. Everything I could ask for in a casual restaraunt.
google avatar

Yelp
This wasn't the worst Italian restaurant, but it was far from good. The rolls were hard and difficult to chew, though they had a good flavor; it was almost like they had been left sitting out for a few days, my friend who was with me didn't even try to eat past the first bite because of how tough they are and she has brittle teeth so she has to be careful; the fact that she had to be careful about eating BREAD should tell you something. I ordered the veal parmigiana, and honestly, it tasted like old hamburger that had freezer burn. I asked if I could get eggplant added onto it, they said no, and that was fine, but then the waitress said she would see if they could do it, well, I didn't notice it at first but finally realize that they had put 1 single piece of fried eggplant off to the side under the mountain of sauce, that one single piece that wasn't even the size of my palm cost an additional $3.50, again, I wouldn't have minded had it not been so breaded that I couldn't even taste the eggplant. I didn't even eat a quarter of it and didn't even try to take it home with me. Honestly eating here just made me think that the restaurant orders everything frozen and then simply heats it up. As for service, while our server was nice, we barely saw her, partly due to a large party that we think she started taking care of, which again, I understand, however, once that party got started we didn't exist anymore. She gave us our tickets, while we were eating, and never came back. We waited a while, and when she still hadn't come back I finally went and got my friend a to-go box, and even after that we waited another long while, probably at least 45 min, if not longer, since the waitress had dropped off our checks, and still no sign of her. We decided to just pay with cash (luckily both of us had enough cash on us) but gave it to the bartender so that it wasn't just left laying on our table. All in all the food was sub par and so was the service, I might be persuaded to try Mama G's again, but based on this experience I would rather try somewhere else.
google avatar

Mike P.

Yelp
Service was excellent. We had a large group. Separate checks , Ivan handled the whole party without error. Food was outstanding.
google avatar

Kristin D.

Yelp
Sorry, I forgot the photos. Diner was excellent. Were a party of 5, in from another state. Mama G's was suggested by a checker at a grocery store in Dillard. We were not disappointed. We ordered chicken Parmesan, veal Parmesan, beef lasagna And chicken Alfredo. All were very good but the beef lasagna was outstanding. The garlic rolls and cheese bread were also outstanding. Highly recommend Mama G's!! Exceptional dining experience. The service was also top notch!

Chris T.

Yelp
Our food was OK, nothing to write home about, but not a reason not to come back. Our server was great. I don't know about the rest of the staff, they didn't seem so polite. I would give this a better review except at the end of our dinner my wife and I were not allowed to use the restroom before we left the restaurant. We arrived at 8:30, finished dinner at 9:25, but when I went to use the bathroom they said they were closed and we could not use them.
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
Delicious! Great seating. Fast service. Nice server. Beautiful view of mountains. Bar has lots of here on tap. Rolls were so good! It was a huge cheat meal for me (on diet) so worth it!!!!

Gerard B.

Yelp
Stopped due to great sign ... had not seen review but quickly seated and drinks delivered. Selected lasagna with sausage, wife had ravioli with spinach and sausage ... excellent service and quantity, wonderful sauce. Somewhat surprised by Polish flag and country music. Too far from home for return visit in near future.

Lucy C.

Yelp
We ordered take out of mushroom ravioli, baked ziti and a Caesar salad. It was delicious and fairly priced for the portions.
google avatar

Christina K.

Yelp
We love the food and easy atmosphere. The baked ziti and the pizzas are our favorites.

Kevin C.

Yelp
Dinner and Drinks were fantastic. Mama G was there eating dinner with us. The service was perfect for my group of 7 and mama G it was so nice to meet you!
google avatar

Cathy S.

Yelp
Our second trip. The service was good. We enjoyed our entrees. Healthy sized portions Warning . They use a lot of garlic.

Don Y.

Yelp
My wife is disabled and we stopped for lunch. To our surprise we could not eat on their deck as no animals allowed except licensed and registered service animals. We have a 13 lb. Yorkshire Terrier, very well behaved, and would have stayed on my wife's lap the entire time. We ended up eating in our car! Numerous other restaurants can handle out door/deck animals what can't they? Unacceptable! If you are disabled with a loving well behaved pet DO NOT stop here!!

Hairy D.

Yelp
Worst Customer service every. From the time we walked in the door, they dropped the bomb on us. Waited a few months to give them a try. NEVER AGAIN. Tweaker waiter, waitress who walks around with her hands her pockets. Food was nothing special Roll was harder then a rock. Pizza crust soggy. We will never be back, and we will make sure our out of town guest don't make the mistake we made.

Wanda H.

Yelp
Clams very good...pasta good sauce a little too much lemon. White pie was just okay. Garlic knots a little dry would have been good if had butter garlic dipping sauce. Went at 2:00 not very busy yet server seemed in a hurry. Perhaps we will try it one more time.

Judith G.

Yelp
Had GF ravioli Alfredo, garlic rolls, Papa Grande pizza, shrimp appetizer, meatball in sauce appetizer, and Chefs salad. Awesome food, really awesome. Mario waited on us- sincere, focused on making our dinner special. For such a small town, this place is it!! We even took home two pizzas- Greek pizzas. Will return!!!
google avatar

Christopher B.

Yelp
Great place. Downtown Clayton had a couple restaurants that had at least an hour wait...Nope. Found this jewel right down the road. Was seated immediately. Great food, huge portions, awesome staff. Will be back!!!!

Bobby R.

Yelp
Took for ever to get our food and chicken was dry! Had better chicken Parm from a tv dinner!

Stacie C.

Yelp
Great service and very clean! The salads and pizza were terrific! Highly recommend if in area!
google avatar

Brock B.

Yelp
I came in for lunch on a Friday, and it was not to busy. It took about 20 minutes for two pasta dishes to come out, and they were scalding! The bowls had just come out of the oven, and I touched it because they gave no warning. The waiter was nice, but he only gave me one refill and didn't check on us at all. For my food I got chicken Alfredo with a garlic roll. The pasta was good, but it was drenched in oils and grease. I decided to get desert, which was a cannoli. The cannoli was good, but it was very basic. Overall this place is not worth it. Lunch for two people was 46$ and I was the only one who got desert. I probably will not be back here.
google avatar

Danny P.

Yelp
The cheese bread is delicious, pizza was good & cheese ravioli was great. The atmosphere was nice and our service was great. We had a party of 13 and our server was on point with all our orders.
