"After much anticipation, Mama Judy Singapore Hawker opened in August, providing Singaporean comfort food to Park Street. But the restaurant is already closed 'indefinitely,' according to an Instagram post from the restaurant." - Lauren Saria

Went to the soft opening on Saturday and they sold out of almost everything within a couple of hours! The laksa was flavorful (could be spicier 😜) , the chendol was on point- delicious and not too sweet. Waited a bit for them to make more curry puffs- which were awesome. Can’t wait for their full menu to be ready 🥰. Highly recommended

The first time I ate Mama Judy's chicken curry puffs, I closed my eyes and it took me back to Singapore! Tears of joy and at one point, I bought 50 pieces all for myself (freeze it). From then on I have been a fan :) Her bakchang is also really great! Went to her soft opening today and tried cendol (sweetly delish), mee siam (tangy comforting) and nasi lemak (great taste and taste explosion) - everything was authentically and excellently Singaporean taste! The new brick and mortar place is a very charming cute place with a brewery next door. Congratulations Mama Judy and I hope for all the success because you deserve it!

I fell in love with Judy’s food when my first bite of her Laksa transported me back to the streets of Singapore. As her tagline “unapologetically Singaporean“ implies, there is nothing about this food that compromises the authenticity of the food. The sambal is spicy, use it judiciously! The dishes are what you can buy from the stalls on the streets and are just as good if not better than what you can find in the real place. Definitely worth checking out.

August 19th, 2023 soft opening. We've ordered group delivery food from Mama Judy during the pandemic so we knew her stuff is always good! So when we heard she was finally opening her own joint, we were very excited! Came here at 12:30 and the tables outside were already full and the line was out the door! But the line went quick so we were placing our order in less than 10 mins. Our order also came out very quick, in about 5-6 mins. Everyone was working so hard and were super helpful. Even though we forgot to tell the receptionist that our order was to go, they gladly took back the 2 ready curry laksa bowls and gave us 2 to-go laksa packages (with soup separated.) We also got 1/2 dozen sardine and veg curry puffs. Everything travelled well. We just heated up the laksa soup and then devoured all of it! The laksa had that delicious and familiar Malaysian/Singapore flavor. And with a dollop of sambal, it had a nice kick to it! Sardine and veg curry puffs were stuffed full of ingredients and very tasty. Crust was light and flaky, and melted in my mouth! Can't wait for them to be fully open! I'm gonna be getting tons of laksa and curry puffs!

Yelp
Back for the second soft opening! Came hungry, left content and very happy. What we had from today's menu was laksa noodles, pork belly rice, kueh lapis, and curry puff. They were a hit! (If you see this and want some, swing on by as they are planning to be opened till 8pm, or until sold out I guess - I wouldn't wait too late). Laksa was delicious. Not too spicy which is my preference. If you want it to have a little more kick, ask for their sambal. But don't say I didn't warn you, add in small amounts! Pork belly rice was umami. Just the right amount of saltiness and sweetness. The fat portion melts in your mouth.... mmmm. And you can taste the spices that goes with true pork belly which often times other places skip on but it makes a difference if you've had pork belly rice in Malaysia/Singapore. Curry puff came out fresh and hot today where with the first bite, I truly felt that I'm back in SEA. SO GOOD! Lastly ended our meal with Kueh Lapis. Sweet but not overly sweet, and just the right chewiness, or the proper way to describe it is "had the right Qness to it".

Yelp
So not good... where do I start... Asked for no fish cake for one order and cooks omitted fish cake on both orders and then could not identify which was which. Ordered the Singaporean Laksa - it came with tasteless rubbery noodles, way over cooked shrimp, flavorless broth and as a baby sized portion. My partner did not eat her order of Laksa and was very disappointed. I know the Bay needs more Singaporean restaurants but this place needs to do their homework in the kitchen and in customer service. The cashier/host was really taking lots of time cracking jokes as the line built. We're hungry and we want real, quality Singaporean food. We'll have to look elsewhere.

Yelp
This place is great... it has a real hawker center feel as you order food at the counter and eat in an outdoor courtyard (no table service) that is shared with a bar and an ice cream place. Most importantly, the food matches the feel... the curry puff is fried to perfect crispness with great flavors. It reminds me of the Curry Puff I used to get in Singapore. And the laksa is excellent, just like at my favorite Katong 328 Laksa. The menu is limited as it appears Mama Judy is focusing on putting her efforts on a limited number of specials. I can't wait until she puts on Hainanese chicken rice on the menu and will be back. It was busy for Saturday lunch. I sat at a communal table with some Singaporean patrons who were equally delighted. I found myself talking in Singlish and temporarily transported to Singapore (without the humidity) Thank you Mama judy for nicely filling the dearth of quality Singapore/Malaysian cuisine in the Bay Area.

Yelp
Drove from SF to visit the soft opening! My partner and I have been looking forward for this opening for awhile to have somewhere in the bay to have authentic Singaporean food before we go back home. Food was amazing, location was really nice since we got to sit outside. We ordered a bunch of Curry Puffs & Kaya spread to take home and have while we wait for the grand opening- (We have been dying to have some Slice fish soup & Black Carrot Cake!!!) First time trying Mama Judy's food and so excited for what is to come! Very family oriented and friendly service! 10/10 recommend! Now all we need is some sugar cane juice haha

Yelp
We ordered the laksa, chicken curry puffs, chendol, and steamed kueh lapis. We enjoyed each dish as everything was served fresh. The service was fast. Everything tasted authentic and portioned nicely except the chendol. It was more like a sampling portion in a big yogurt cup with too little ice. It is like a sampling cup but I am happy to taste it. Shipper your local stores.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service. We have been waiting for Southeast Asian food to open in Alameda. Keep it up and we'll keep supporting your business.

Yelp
Authentic Singapore food. Good place for families and groups. Everything on the menu is good.

Yelp
The food was delicious. I had the nasi lemak, curry puffs, and laksa. All of the food was very authentic. It was a bit busy when I went but it was so worth it. Pricing isn't expensive for such amazing quality. I will definitely be returning

Yelp
So excited to have a hawker stall in Alameda! I went for lunch on the grand opening day. The laksa was so flavorful and had a great kick. The curry puffs were crispy but not too doughy, and the filling was so fresh. The Hokkien Hae Mee had pork belly, shrimp, fish cake, and calamari with two kinds of noodles. It brought us back to being in Singapore. Everything was so delicious and the staff was warm and friendly. Looking forward to seeing what else pops up on their menu in the coming days!!

Yelp
New Singaporean restaurant on Park Street. Very low key location with parking in the back. Mama Judy will not disappoint with her Nasi Lemak which has various protein options (fried chicken, spam, shrimp, and vegetarian). Her Sardine Puffs and Curry Puffs are a must try as well. The shaved ice for dessert was so unique, I could've gone for seconds. And most importantly the staff here are so nice and attentive. Be sure to drop in if you haven't already, it may be one of your go to spots for some good Singaporean food.
