Mama Lamees is a gem, and she is just so kind! I think too many people look past it in the marketplace because the price point is a bit higher, but that’s a mistake. DONT SLEEP ON MAMA LAMEES! You’ll definitely get two meals out of your order!! First time I went I got the “appetizer” chicken schwarma over hummus that came with a fresh pita (I would suggest ordering one more pita because the dish was HUGE, swear it weighed like 5lbs) and it comes smothered with a delicious sauce and sumac. I love adding the hot sauce too, it’s not super spicy but it has a wonderful pickled flavor to is. Second time I came back with a friend and we got the falafel wrap (big was a taco truck super burrito!) and the kefta (if you’re not familiar, think meatballs) with the seasoned basmati rice, and both baklava’s (pistachio and walnut, DANK). Mama Lamees herself recommends the rack of lamb so I’ll be back for that and the cauliflower dish. She is also currently offering meal kits for 2 or 4 people and it looks like a really good deal, I’m tellin ya they really hook it up on the proportions. There is currently an altered menu avail that I’m including in my review. Please stop by, you won’t regret it!

I love Mama Lamees, a women-owned and run, authentic Palestinian restaurant. Mama Lamees has created an amazing menu and dining experience! Her entire family is there to support her and create a delicious, authentic meal for customers. Excellent food, PLUS we got to see Mama Lamees in action! ♥️ It's REAL food- mujadara, mnazaleh, lentil soup, musakhan, and kenafeh with tea (with sage)- and all was fabulous! The mujadara is my favorite- the flavors in it are amazing! The mnazaleh is awesome as well ♥️ The musakhan is really good, but different- it's vegan, so made with almonds instead of chicken. Very good, just a bit different 😁 I highly recommend everything on the menu and will be a regular for sure!

Delicious good food! Had the chicken shwarma. Cost about $12-13 but worth it because they were large portions! Had leftovers for dinner. Limited drink availability but nice family owned business, was actually recommended by the hotel I stayed at.

I tried the falafel wrap. It was good but definitely not the best I've had. The portion is huge and good for two but the price is commensurate with size.

Mama Iamees is a gem of a restaurant. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Ordered the lamb kabob plate. First, it is 100% worth the wait time of 15-20 minutes and I loved being and to see my food being cooked in real time. The salad was very fresh with some cucumber goodness and none of the bad. It comes with seasoned basmati rice while a bit more wet then I'm used to still deeply satisfies. The dish comes with two very different dips for the pita bread. One has this smokey, interesting flavor and the other is more of a traditional hummus. The pita bread or was it naan? Well, the bread wasn't made in real time unfortunately and you can taste it. I like it thin and crispy but this was more on the soft and warm side. Onto the star, the lamb. It has a marvelous flavor, it was some of the best I've had. Charred on the outside, seasoned very well and served with purple onions which is perfect. The issue for me was the size of the piece of meat and I felt like they were too big. The meat ended up having different consistences and in some bites was dry and chewy which isn't good thing to have in any kind of meat. Customer service was also of note and was quite outstanding. Mama Iamees really is a 5 star place and I'm really looking forward to coming here again and trying a different item on the menu. It's a real experience.

Mama Lamees prepares delicious, authentic Palestinian food. It’s a great spot for a quick lunch in the Public Market. It’s family-run and it shows in a good way. The service is friendly and the food tastes homemade. I had the chicken shawarma and the lentil soup, both were delicious. Highly recommended!

Ordering online was so easy, food was ready quickly. The staff is extremely kind and it is apparent that everything is being made fresh. The lamb rack was some of the best I've ever had; it was deliciously seasoned, tender, and perfectly charred. The sides were everything I wanted with the lamb, fluffy rice, refreshing veggies, smokey mutabal, creamy hummus, soft pita. They also threw in a sample of their roast chicken... I will definitely be returning to get a full order of that! There's lots of love going into this food, highly recommend!

This was my first visit, and I was highly satisfied with the warm and pleasant customer service, presentation of the food, portion size, and flavor. I had the Mujaddarah with roasted chicken legs and the Palestinian salad. The chicken tasted great. It was so tender it feel off the bone. The salad was fresh, flavorful, and juicy. And the brown lentil cooked with seasoned basmati rice topped with caramelized onions was warm with a hint of sweetness due to the sauteed onions. Great and rememberable experience overall. Thanks ladies for the friendly customer service. It goes a long way when someone takes their time to explain certain dishes with customers that aren't as familiar with their restaurants menu.
