My colleagues and I came here for a farewell lunch for one of our coworkers. There were around sixteen of us, so it got a little bit crowded, but that would be true anywhere. They put us up in the room near the bar, which we basically had to ourselves. It's quiet and a bit outdated, but it has a classic, homey vibe to it.
We had one server for the entire table and she put forth a valiant effort to keep up with all of us. It probably would've been much easier if there had been a second server to come to help as well, since it's hard to keep that many separate drinks filled. She did an excellent job keeping track of who had ordered each dish.
I had the Calabrian Gnocchi, which was excellent. It tasted fresh, and I really enjoyed the bacon jam and ricotta. Normally, it's a dinner item, but they were wiling to prepare it for me during lunch. My coworkers had a wide variety of dishes, including Joe's Special, meatball parm, baked ziti, and several orders of lasagna. The house salad comes with a generous helping of different toppings, but the coworker who had ordered it didn't realize it would come with mushrooms and olives. He gave it to someone else, who happily devoured it. The first several orders of lasagna came out excellent, but the last two wound up with problems: one was cold in the center, and the other had a thoroughly overcooked, tough sheet of pasta as the bottom layer. I'm not sure how they're keeping the lasagna, but I think you can only order so many at a time before they run into issues in the kitchen. Other than those two dishes, the food was excellent and I'd be happy to dine here again in the future.
