This place is fantastic!!! We initially didn’t like our first dish and the owner came up to us and offered to replace it. Not only did she bring us a replacement dish, but she remade the dish we first ordered!! It was delicious. The sauce ratio is great and the white meat chicken was cooked perfectly. No chewiness at all. The noodles were cooked to perfection. 10/10 recommend and the owner is super sweet!

Google
We ordered the pad see ew and it tasted a little funny. The owner came to our table before we could return and immediately got us another dish-pad Thai, and it was great! She then remade the pad see ew and it was the best I ever had! Also got coconut shrimp and it tasted very fresh. The next time we’re in San Diego we’ll return.

Google
Got the green curry. You get enough food for 2-3 meals, no joke! And all for $14!!! Food was made right away. No wait. The veggies were fresh. It was delicious! Not frozen veggies. All freshly chopped and made and very good quality. Tons of great veggies and the curry was lovely. Good vibes and great service. Please support these folks! Many excellent vegan and gluten-free options!!

Google
Pretty nice Bao place. I saw it’s over there for a long time and finally got a chance to try it out. The taste is decent, I won’t say it’s authentic because I originally come from China. But they taste fine. The rice wrap is my favorite. The roasted pork over rice is delicious too. I don’t really recommend the bbq bun, it’s too pricey comparing to the size and taste.

Google
Pad Thai and Thai Tea were delicious, but the way they take and work on orders is chaotic. Even a simple order of two Pad Thai noodles and two Thai Teas was screwed up twice. Immediately after ordering, the lady made one tea and forgot about the other one, then had to check the order to verify I really order two. Then after 10 min wait I realized she forgot also the two Pad Thai and she had to check the order again to realize her mistake.

Google
We decided to give a try to One of Liberty Stations-Public Market busiest spots. It did not disappoint!! Was well worth the wait. We tried the “Bao Buns” and chicken skewers rice plate. The bins were absolutely delicious… you have the option of Pork, Chicken, and Tofu. The pork and chicken were packed with flavor. Will definitely come back and taste the PadThai noodles..

Google
Aggressively undercooked vegetables, almost no sauce to the noodles, mid chicken. Just go somewhere else.

Google
1. The pa see eew noodles are way too sweet. It’s disgusting. I understand some places catering towards white taste. But don’t market as mama’s cooking please. 2. We ask about how one type of noodle tastes like, people work there have no idea.

Yelp
I love the curry brown rice . So mouth wateringly spicy, and the food is served warm and steamy ‍, please enjoy

Yelp
My wife and I decided to try this place out since the other food places had very low review. After ordering, I checked the review and it was actually lower than the 3 previous food places we stayed away from. Worst decision. We were waiting for our number to be called. Good thing my wife went to checked. 20+ minutes later, our number hasn't been called yet. For some reason, our order was ready, placed on the counter where other people picked up their food. What kind of service is this? The place looked dirty! As if it was some kind of an alley. The counter, the floor inside the establishment. When does it get cleaned up? Food was..... the worst Pad Thai ever!!! Like ever!

Yelp
Went to Liberty Station on a Saturday and had a craving for some Thai Food so went to Mama Made. Woman working the counter was super nice and when I ordered the fried rice I asked if she preferred the chicken or beef. She said she liked both but suggested the chicken. I went with her advice. Was VERY busy, but food didn't take too long. Food was super warm which was nice, but was kinda surprised at how bland the food was. The chicken had no flavor and there were a lot of bright white pieces that didn't have cook marks on them. I stuck to the cooked pieces and took a picture. They offer soy sauce and hot sauce so could flavor it up. I believe their noodle dishes are better and that is what most patrons were ordering so would stick to that.

Yelp
Mama Made us located inside the Liberty Public Market. I love Thai food so I was very excited to come and try it! It's a small family owned spot, and food is made fresh upon ordering. My food was ready after about ten minutes. I got the Pad Thai with chicken, and oh I loved it! It was beautifully flavored and tasted so fresh! It was a good portion for me as well. My husband ordered the spicy fried rice with beef, and also really enjoyed it! I think we've found one of our new favorite Thai food spots!
google avatar

Hema K.

Yelp
I love this place! I got their pad see eww and basil fried rice. Perfect texture, right amount of spice. They do not have prik nim pla but have the generic hot sauce packet. yuck. Anyhow I was able to enjoy their dishes without any additional condiments. If I'm a local this would be my weekly must have dish! I placed the order and in 5 minutes the food was ready to be picked up. There were bar seats around this cafe so was able to devour the food while it was fresh.

Daniel R.

Yelp
The food provided was great. Thom Kha was ON POINT. The Pad See Ew was delicious. My contention on the negative review was offering shrimp to Thom Ka for $9. For 3 measly Vons previously frozen shrimp. That's robbery pure and simple. Do better please.

Yelp
Came here on a weekend and it was pretty packed. I was feeling some Thai food and this place was available. Located in the center of liberty public market they have great Thai food. I normally stick with what I like so I usually go for the pad see ew. Theirs is very tasty and it comes with some vegetables as well. Service was okay, the guy at the counter wasnt super friendly but that didn't deter me from getting the food. Good spot for Thai food.

Eric D.

Yelp
I purchased a mixed vegetable meal with Shrimp yesterday, October 28th and the cashier was Alisa. The time was 5:26pm and I asked for shrimp and I asked if they were going to be fried. I mentioned I wanted shrimp a couple times. I get home and I look at my meal and I was charged for Shrimp and mixed vegetables but I have only mixed vegetables with no shrimp.

Yelp
On Saturday around noon, I ordered Pad See Ew (Medium spice) with Chicken. I also ordered a coke zero here. The staff are quick and friendly. The noodles came out PIPING HOT about 5-7 mins later. I like that they put in the plastic meal prep container for you. They were thoughtful and provided two napkins. The dish had a generous portion - noodles, broccoli, carrot, chicken breast. Overall, the dish was sweeter than I prefer it. Chicken breast was dry and tough. Spice Level: Medium -- this is not enough spice for me, I should've opted for Spicy (Options were Mild, Medium, Spicy). This is prob equivalent to a 0-1 at Sab-e-Lee. I didn't finish the entree (I was about 75-80% done) and had to take the rest home. Warning: the noodles DO NOT taste good the day after. I microwaved it and that did not help loosen it up. The noodles just kinda stuck together.
google avatar

Adrienne D.

Yelp
Got the Kua Noodles. Tastes like nothing, so seasoning. Literally looks the way it tastes, pale and bland. I should've walked when I saw no msg on the sign. The girl at the counter was typical gen z, glued to her phone. Total was $15, not horrible for San Diego prices but it was not worth it because it tasted like nothing.

Yelp
Came here last weekend after the San Diego half marathon. I was originally trying to get a breakfast burrito, but while waiting for friends, and adjacent spot stopped serving them. After that, I thought some Pad See Ew would hit the spot and another person in the food hall said Mama Made was good. Bottom line, the customer experience wasn't great and neither was the food. The guy taking the orders clearly did NOT want to be there. Chalking it up to a bad day, I thought "whatever". I didn't really have a sense of how long things were taking (nor was that offered) so I just stood around and waited. It would have been nice if he said "hey it will be about 10-15 minutes." Anyway, I get my food. I mean it looked like Pad See Ew, but it was probably the worst version I'd ever had... super bland (as in little flavor... not usually a spicy dish) and the tofu was super mushy. Wish I'd checked yelp before ordering, but I was hangry and just wanted food. (BTW, when I'm hangry, I'm less picky so this is me telling you that even normal me would be super disappointed). San Diego has many great Thai restaurants and this one is NOT one of them.

Yelp
I've been craving for pad see ew for a while and since I was here with my friends I decided to get dinner at the Liberty Station. I came in probably around 7 or 7:30 on a Saturday evening. There wasn't a line to order but there was a line to pick up. I ordered the Pad See Ew with Chicken ($13) and I probably waited about 15-20 minutes for my order. The station can get really crowded so it can be a bit cramped at the counter between the people who are waiting for their orders and those who are just trying to pass by the aisle. It was a decent amount of food since I was able to split it into two meals. I wish that there was a bit more seasoning on it though because I thought that the noodles were a bit bland and the chicken was dry. I definitely needed some water to pair with it. They had some packets of chili sauce on the side which helped add that kick of spice and flavor to it though. They did have a good mix of protein, vegetables, and noodles in the plate so there wasn't too much of a certain ingredient over the others. Overall I wasn't really impressed with the pad see ew I got here. If I'm back at the Liberty station I don't think that I will be getting Thai food from here again. It didn't even satisfy my craving for me and I'm left still wanting some more pad see ew.

Jana N.

Yelp
This is probably one of my go-to spots in Liberty Station and have had a positive experience each time I've ordered from here. I usually stick to the pad see ew and this trip was no exception. I find that the prices here are decent for a good amount of food, they are relatively quick and they have a dairy-free taro boba tea option. Two things I do wish is: number one, that there was a spice leave to choose from, such as 1 or 2 stars. The only option is to add sriracha or other hot sauces. Number two, they would provide a pager thing so that you could walk around or find a seat while waiting for your food. Right now they only give you a number and the pick up area is rather narrow and crowded. Overall a good pick in my opinion.

Yelp
Found some metal pieces in my Pad Thai. Almost choked on one of the pieces while eating and spit it out to my surprise it was a little metal piece and then looked into the Pad Thai I found an other piece. Really disappointed.
google avatar

Dio A.

Yelp
I was looking forward for my food as the look delicious on pictures. Much to my disappointment, it wasn't exactly what I imagined the food to be. I had the chicken wings, and they were hard as if they have been sitting for a while. And tasted pretty bland and hardly any flavor. They provided some sauce, maybe soy sauce, but my first bite of it was so bad, any sauce would not have changed my first impression. I also ordered the Appetizer Sampler and it was no different. The only thjng l was able to eat was the coconut shrimp . I ordered the Pad See Ew for my main dish, with tofu. This one is not bad, but still lacking some flavor. So my overall impression of their food was mediocre. Also, for a to go order, I would expect some napkins and utensils in the bag, but there were none of that. I definitely don't recommend this place.
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
What a great little find. Non-descript and unpretentious. Great service. Great prices. Great food. This is some of the best Thai food we've had. Great flavor. And, the beef was tender and flavorful. The order came out quick, the very accurate. My wife eats gluten free and they easily accommodated her request. Give this place a try.

Yelp
Thanks to my daughter who worked close by ....introduced me to this place. They have really good authentic Thai food! My favorite is their Panang Curry and usually I have it with shrimp or chicken it. I only wish they would add more sauce!! Very little amount for the price I paid around $16.00! We love that sauce so please make your customers have a happy tummy!! ADD MORE SAUCE and be a little bit more generous! Thanks.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing food! Really tasty, fresh, flavours still in my mouth! Service good and the owner is an amazing Thai lady! Everything Cleaning! Recommended a 100%

Yelp
Found a piece of wire brush in my food. Food was 3/10 When I told the service about the wire brush they didn't seem to care, beware.

Yelp
Mama Made is a Thai restaurant inside the Liberty Station Public Market. They have been there since the inception of the public market. Honestly, it's a little bit hard to find them because their names and menu are slightly harder to see compared to other stores. I visited them a few times, but most recently I tried their woo Sen noodles. It's rare to find stir fried woo Sen noodles in a Thai restaurant. I ordered it with tofu. Although the dish looks simple, it was delicious! I remembered their pad see ew was pretty salty, but the woo Sen noodles were fine. I liked it and will definitely come back for it again. Don't overlook this little Thai restaurant inside the market. The owner may want to upgrade their menu and have some pictures or list out their popular items to make them more visible to the browsing customers.
google avatar

Rochelle M.

Yelp
I chose Mama Made because it's conveniently located across from Pasta Design where my daughter ordered her lunch. I chose Pad Thai with shrimp, medium heat. It took about 10 minutes to prepare. It came out steaming hot and cooked well (not overly wet and runny). The portion was generous with just enough shrimp. This is my usual starting point before trying other dishes. It was quite good and priced reasonably for food hall dining. I'll try other dishes the next time we're in the area.
google avatar

Sandra L.

Yelp
I usually order in person and I'm always happy with the food but today I had a short lunch so I ordered early on uber eats thinking my food would be ready by the time I walked over. Unfortunately their machine was not functioning and while my order was updating the time for pickup they were not even making my food. When I talked to someone they canceled my order and told the kitchen to make it, I explained I only had a few minutes left on my lunch. She asked me to pay for the food after all this, I just ended up going back to work because 30 minutes was already up. Disappointment for lunch.

Cael C.

Yelp
got the Thai fried rice with shrimp. was the worst Thai fried rice that I've ever had. Service was very underwhelming and the time was much longer than it should have been. do not recommend whatsoever.
google avatar

Liann S.

Yelp
Always love trying new foods at Liberty Station so decided to try some Thai food. Ordered the Spicy Fried Rice and it was super delicious. I ordered it with beef and my only issue was that the beef was cooked interestingly, it was way too chewy and wasn't cut up well so I had to constantly take a pause and cut it up myself. The Spicy Fried Rice definitely has a strong kick to it so if you're hesitating about how spicy it'll be I would only recommend it if you love spicy foods. Portion was super big! When ordering I felt very rushed compared to my other experiences ordering at other booths in Liberty Station. The wait was about 10-15 minutes for the food, which is on the longer side but standard for most places in the same building. Military discount accepted on Mondays only. I would definitely come here again but wouldn't order a meat option for the Spicy Fried Rice again.
google avatar

Quinn S.

Yelp
This was in liberty station so the only thing I can rate is the food. I ordered the pad Thai, and it came pretty quickly (under 8 minutes I think?). I don't get pad Thai too often so I don't have much to compare it to, but overall I thought it was pretty good. Noodles were a good texture, chicken was alright and the peanut sauce was delightful. They give quite a bit of food (I was unable to finish my meal), and honestly cost wasn't too bad for Liberty Station. Good job!
google avatar

Jayray F.

Yelp
Do you like to go where it's hip? Like to be where all the locals go? Head to Liberty Station and then go inside the Public Market middle of the market to find this hidden GEM! The basil noodle which is similar to drunken noodles or Dan Dan DELICIOUS! The green curry was similarly perfection! Portions were large service was quick and the atmosphere is fun!
google avatar

Audrey L.

Yelp
Stopped in the Liberty Public Market for something sweet! I was in the mood for a Thai tea and decided to try Mama Made. There was a bit of a line but went pretty quick. The person at the counter made my drink right there and handed it to me. It's was really good and creamy! The market was super hot that night so we ended up grabbing some tables outside and enjoyed our sweet treats!
google avatar

LINA M.

Yelp
This place was okay. They are also located inside the bustling Liberty Station Market. This is another Americanized place due to it's location. I follow them on social media and their food always looks so good. The drunken noodles weren't that bad. Could be spicier but it was nice for people who aren't used to spiciness. The sampler appetizer was pretty good as well! It comes with a sweet and spicy sauce.
google avatar

Anthony D.

Yelp
Talk about choice overload, Liberty Public Market has so many choices for food but I eventually opted to stop at this Thai spot. The Basil Noodle w/Chicken had all the right flavors and ingredients except for the chicken. The chicken was so dry and not moist whatsoever. It's a shame because the overall dish was very flavorful with the basil and slight kick of spice, but I couldn't overlook the poorly cooked chicken. Had the chicken been juicy and tender, I would have given this a 5/5. But since the texture was such a let down, at most I'd give it would be a 3.5. Next time, I'd opt to check out another food stall.
google avatar

Lam B.

Yelp
Compared to other stalls at Liberty Public Market, Mama Made has some tasty yet reasonably priced and sized dishes. =ORDERED= We selected mild spice for both noodles and were given an estimated wait time of 10-15 minutes. They were packaged well and steaming hot. Neither dish was spicy and I'm practically a baby so I would ramp it up if you want to feel some heat. *Pad Thai with Chicken: had good amount of chicken but was a bit dry. Liked the peanuts but wanted some more bean sprouts and scallions. Heavy on the tamarind sauce so it was tangy, sweet and salty. *See Ew with Shrimp: loved the mouthfeel of the noodles and there was a ton of shrimp. Could have decreased the amount of dark soy sauce since it was too sweet and salty. Mama Made doesn't hold back on the portion sizes and I'm here for it. I was impressed by the sheer amount of noodles and big flavor. Although it was too salty for my preference, I appreciate the attempted seasoning. Thumbs up for this stall at Liberty Public Market.

Yelp
Mama Made is one of the more tenured vendors at Liberty Public Market. They may have even been part of the original set of businesses, it has been that long. Their kitchen can crank out an impressive array of standard Thai cuisine dishes... curries, stir-fries, fried rice, noodles, soups. Some of the appetizers delved into Chinese food like Sesame Balls and Shumai. I stopped at the Market to check if any new stalls had opened. Some were under construction so new businesses will be popping up later this year. Mama Made was still operating at the time of my evening visit. I ordered the Basil Noodle (i.e. Drunken Noodle) with shrimp and a Mango Milk Tea. The food and drink were ready in about 10 minutes. The wide rice noodles were stir fried in a tamarind sauce with scrambled eggs, scallions, cilantro, bean sprouts, and crushed peanuts added. The worker who staffed the register did not ask what spice level I wanted for the dish. What I received was around two on a scale of one to five. The portion size was okay for the price, however some of the noodles were clumped together. The staff could have done a better job in the preparation process of making sure the noodles were separated before the stir fry. The milk tea was heavy with ice which was my mistake as I should have requested light ice. The mango flavor was diluted as a result. The quality was not a good value for the $4 price. My dining experience was middle of the road average which led to a three star rating.
google avatar

Marilyn N.

Yelp
Spicy noodles with tofu was really good! Well seasoned, had scrabbled eggs and variety of veggies- bell peppers, carrots, cabbage, basil. Generous portion and came out quickly even during Friday night dinner rush. Skip the mango milk tea - it didn't taste right, Maybe not enough milk? Or just too sweet?

세민

Yelp
Their pad see ew and pad thai are so authentic and good! It's freshly made & has tons of flavor in it. Must visit in Liberty Station. 10/10
google avatar

J J.

Yelp
Worst Pad Thai I ever tasted in this universe - YUCK ! This is not pad thai! The instant NOODLES from Walmart is way better than this crap!
google avatar

Madison O.

Yelp
Pad Thai was a large portion with plenty of chicken but the overall dish was bland as there wasn't enough spice. I ordered a tea because I was concerned the pad Thai would be spicy and they didn't have water!!! When I asked the cashier about the honeydew melon tea she mentioned it was sweet. I should have listened to her because it was way too sweet even for my sweet tooth. It's so hard to find good Thai food and I wish I would have tried another spot since there was plenty to choose from at the Liberty Station market.
google avatar

Johnny N.

Yelp
Tried this place at Liberty Public Market because it smelled pretty good and the selections looked alright. Pad Thai is my go-to when trying a new spot, so we got the Chicken Pad Thai. It was pretty good and the flavors matched any other Thai restaurant in the area, and the serving was really good for two people. However, I think it could have been more spicy, but I think this is to match the palate of all demographics. I noticed from other reviews that the menu changes quite a bit, so I definitely want to try some of their other dishes.
google avatar

Wilma K.

Yelp
Was craving Thai food and was elated to find this place as an option... unfortunately the food was mediocre. Ordered pad thai, pad see ew, and basil noodle. All entrees were dry, even the pad thai which I asked for extra sauce. Flavor was lacking as well. Chicken was dry. Overall meh. Based on the name I was hoping it would be better. Customer service was good, but not enough to earn a second visit.
google avatar

Amabel Y.

Yelp
Fiancé was craving Thai food so we decided to try this restaurant inside of Liberty Public Market. We ordered the Kua Noodles with chicken ($11). This is essentially the wide rice noodles stir fried in a light brown gravy sauce with peas, carrots, bean sprouts, egg, scallion and onion. First bite, I thought it didn't taste authentic and had a very strong black pepper taste. But when you add the chili paste (had to ask for condiments separately), it made the noodle taste so much better! Overall wait for the noodle dish was 10 minutes and it was pipping hot when we picked our item up from the counter! Noodle taste great, just not authentic. I would give them another try next time I visit SD and try their pad Thai!
google avatar

Melody P.

Yelp
Literally the worst Thai food we've ever had. I asked for medium spice. The people ordering before me asked for no spice. They mixed that aspect of our orders up. Regardless of spice level, disgusting taste on the cashew stirfry with tofu. Go elsewhere, anywhere else. Lady working at the counter that day was also very sour. All around bad experience.
google avatar

Peter M.

Yelp
This is another Eatery at the Liberty Public market in San Diego and it is the only Thai restaurant in that location. Got a spicy chicken fried rice to go. Large quantity, over cooked, a mild favor. Rice should have been more drier on the outside so that the grains would separate and have better overall texture for the dish.

John M.

Yelp
CURRY FRIED RICE- no taste of curry other than pepper. dry, not much flavor. And the guy taking the orders and money is ... not a people person. And it wasn't even busy. I'd skip and try another place in the food hall.
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
Stopped by this liberty market stall and ordered some fried rice. It was ok. I only ordered the Thai chicken fried rice so I can't say anything about the rest of the food. the fried rice wasn't really fried it tasted like white rice and some veggies and chicken. Customer service was good and food came out fairly quickly. Maybe too quickly. Next time take a few extra minutes to make sure the veggies are cooked more and add more flavor and fry to the rice. I might stop back by and check out another menu item one day.
google avatar

Pranjali S.

Yelp
I'm leaving this review for both Bao Bar and Mamamade as I'm not sure what part of our food came from which entity. We ordered food to go. It's located inside Liberty Station and the vibe is pretty nice. Surprised I hadn't explored these restaurants before. We got the fried rice, the basil noodles and the bbq bao. The bbq bao was super interesting! I liked it. It's filled with a bbq sauce based filling likely made of potatoes and maybe meat. I would've liked more filling to go with the size of the bao. The fried rice was just ok and a little bit dry and bland. The basil noodles definitely took the top prize among the 3 as they were delicious, spicy and very flavorful. I also got a honey dew boba tea, which was delicious!! I will be back to try out some of their other stuff.

Yelp
Located in Liberty station in the public Market, Mama Made is my go to for Thai food!!! Yummy freshly cooked food, hot off the pan . I've tried they Pad Thai and never once did it disappoint. This time I tried their pad see ew & it was delicious! Highly recommend this place. The owner is supper friendly too! Great customer service. Ambiance is calm and they are quick to serve
google avatar

Kate M.

Yelp
Extremely flavorful tom yum soup from Mama made thai place in the good court. We visited the place during tree lighting event and market was extremely busy. Despite being overwhelmed, food quality was never compromised. 5 stars for sure
google avatar

Vanna S.

Yelp
Thai cuisine is one of my favorites and I'm always a sucker to try a Thai restaurant when I see it! I've given Mama Made multiple tries and have ordered many different dishes; unfortunately, it's never satisfying. This visit, I ordered the vegetable Pad Thai. I thought it tasted okay, probably could have used more flavor. I ate the noodles from one side and when I went to mix the noodles, the other side was drowning in sauce! I prefer and usually have Pad Thai noodles that are much drier but this dish had so much remaining liquid, causing the noodles to become soggy. Overall, I think the food here can be improved. I probably won't try another dish but I did order the Thai Tea w/ boba and it was delicious so I would be back for that.

Yelp
I just started working at liberty station and a few times I've been here. It's been great food and service. Me and my sister shared a fried rice spicy and also yellow curry and both of them were made perfectly. We also got the spring rolls which was nice and crispy. The fried rice has a really nice flavor and spicy but not too spicy. The ambience is kind of loud in here though. It's a food court. But the cost and the food itself is great.
google avatar

Reg A.

Yelp
The food was good, but make sure you get what you ordered, we ordered Panang Curry and received Pad Thai. I told my friend to return it but she has a good heart and said it's ok. When we ordered our food, the person before us also received the wrong order. The guy taking the order was busy looking at his cell phone and wasn't paying attention.

Yelp
Inside Liberty Public Market. Taste good. For a quick lunch break in this historic district. Portion is just nice for two to share as a snack. Food: 7/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 overall Service: NA Value: 7/10
