Very welcoming kitchen, not only do you get great food but you get great energy and conversation as well. I ordered the fettuccine, spaghetti, and sambusas and it was all delightful. I froze some and pulled it out later... still great

Big portions, very worth the price. I got the fettuccine with chicken and salmon and gyro and fries. It was good. The meat sauce spaghetti is better than the the Italian restaurants, I won't be wasting my money there anymore. I'm going to get extra meat sauce on the side. That cheesecake is almost as good as mine, love the biscoff crust. I should have thought of that. 😉 Everything was fresh and hot but she does get busy so you may have to wait a bit for your order. She makes a very good orange sauce that goes on almost everything there She moved across the street to a brick and mortar, nice place.

I went there randomly. Knocked at the door and Auntie came by, and told me everything's gonna take some time. I opted for just the Cheesecake as the neighborhood looked a little sketchy to be waiting around cluelessly. Mama was so sweet and endearing she gave me sambusas too. And the raspberry white chocolate Cheesecake was MIND BLOWING.

I found Mama Sambusa from a tiktok creator named ecsotixdivinity. I tried the Shwarma fries and OMG I wanted to cry the food was so good! I plan on going back to try the alfredo and spaghetti.

We pulled up around 1am to get food and let me tell you ... Mama Sambusa did not disappoint!!! The food was absolutely delicious and the lovey lady cooking to us was very kind. If I lived in WA I would be a regular. I highly recommend trying all the Sambusa options! Chicken Sambusa was my favorite as well as the chicken tacos!!!

The women who runs this place is amazing and knows what true good food tastes like. Don't let the area fool you. Seattle's best is here.

I walked here from my AirBnb the first night I landed in Seattle; Mama was so nice & wanted to make sure I liked the food since it was my first time eating there. I ended up ordering one each of the chicken, beef, veggie sambusa along with the 'liquid gold' dipping sauce and everything was delicious~ Perfect late night dinner. Next time I'm in Seattle I will definitely visit again so I can try everything else on the menu!

I was starving late at night and decided to get some pasta mind you this is not the first time I've had mama sambusa first time wasn't disappointing but this time I called to order 1 shrimp pasta the lady said it'll take 20mins cuz the shrimp takes time to make? So I then went to go pick up I was soo excited even paid $30 cash cuz I didn't have change and obviously don't mind tipping the mom working late. When I got home and opened the box there was a weird smell I tried to ignore and fist bite had to spit it out idk why it smelled I tried the pasta thinking maybe it's just the shrimp but no same thing and then I tried to smell the cheese and that's when I gagged I really was excited to eat this and now I have to just throw it away because I'm scared of food poisoning. So I made my brother smell it thinking I'm tweaking but he also gagged and almost threw up just like me. This is really disappointing

I found this place off Tiktok and it looked so good! it was SO GOOD and such good amount of food for the price. I got Sarah's spaghetti, the fettuccini with chicken and a biscoff cheesecake. so. yum. 10/10 definitely recommend, and they were so nice too!! must try this place out

I only tried the chicken and beef sambusas this time but will return to try the pasta (and get more sambusas). I took them to go and nearly drove off the road smelling them on my way home. Cooked by Mama Sambusa herself, the sambusas were flavorful and juicy inside. The outside was crisp and chewy in all the right ways. Not soggy or oily at all. Clean tasting. (They actually clean their oil!) The beef one is slightly spicy but not overwhelmingly so. It is the most traditional and I'm glad I had the foresight to get an extra one for "tomorrow" aka I devoured them all the moment I got home. You might have noticed that they are open until 4am. I confirmed that this is not a typo. I could see this being a handy piece of information on a Friday or Saturday night if you get my drift. Lastly, they accept credit card, but they use Square, so cash would probably reduce their cost of operations. Black and immigrant owned. Come to support, but keep coming back for the food.

The food is sooo good, and it really felt like I went to my friend's mom's house. And I never wanted to leave.

Update: Thank you for the call and conversation in regards to the miscommunication. If we're ever in Seattle again we would gladly patronize your business. I extend my apologies for anything that I stated that may have caused offense as that has never been my intention. Nothing that I have stated implies that y'all treat people different based off of where they are from in the world. I have absolutely no idea where that thought came from. There's also nothing that I have stated that is "bullying" . There is nothing that I have stated that degrades your religion. We received one phone call from y'all after the initial phone call but no we did not answer. I don't change my review every 12 hours I only update my review to respond whenever y'all respond because y'all continue to make false statements about the situation and or attempt to put words in my mouth. All of my original commentary is still available. No this is not a form of punishment for not responding to my "DM" and it's really saddening and disturbing if y'all truly think that. This has been a back and fourth exchange because y'all continue to make comments that aren't true. I will not allow y'all to put words in my mouth or make comments that are untrue. I would suggest exploring better ways on how to develop some conflict/resolution skills instead of resorting to your current ineffective practices. Oh and also if there is a recording of y'all telling us that y'all opened later and offered a discount PLEASE post the recording or send me the recording. Kenneth expressed that those comments were never made and if you have a recording that contradicts what he says then I would LOVE to hear it and I will update the review to reflect the miscommunication and apologize if Kenneth misspoke. Never implied that this was a racist establishment, we were never served in the first place so declining to serve us "again" doesn't even make sense. Never implied that you all lied about being closed but you did lie about telling us y'all would be open later, lied about offering a discount for future orders and lied about me blocking y'all. No one is tormenting or bullying y'all and y'all are in no shape or form a victim in the situation. This has nothing to do with gender or race. If y'all had told the truth from the beginning then I wouldn't have continuously responded to refute your untrue statements. I'm not the one driving any false narratives my statement has stayed the same from the very beginning and has not changed. Had y'all came out and simply stated that y'all were mistaken in telling us y'all would be open later, no discount offered and that I never blocked y'all then I would have simply responded with a thank you for the response but instead y'all provided a response that was untrue and therefore I refuted the response. Again for the fourth or fifth time, I wish you all the best. I haven't blown anything out of proportion. I said what I said and everything I said was true. 5 stars because soooo many lameos in Seattle, gotta praise these troopers for stay open late af. One womaned kitchen as well. The food is fresh. Just eat what is suggested if the options are limited. Trust the cook. Honestly hits much harder than tons of spots at that time of night. It's now either this or Honey Court for my midnight munchies.

ven during the height of COVID, they delivered great service. I've tried so many items on their menu and they're all good but my favorites are the Sambusa's and Sarah's Spaghetti. Sarah's Spaghetti is full of flavor and has the right amount of spice. The meat sauce is rich but not heavy. The portion size is unbelievable. It's more than enough for two people or to eat over two days. I've had sambusa's from other places and these are by far my favorite. Non of the flavors in it overpower the others; that's key for me. Try their food and follow them on IG, you won't regret it.

If 0 stars was a thing that is what they would be getting right now. I ordered on their website which is all over their instagram, waited the 40 minutes, paid and even called which the number does NOT work. Once I arrived someone comes out and says she has not done any online orders and she "knows nothing about the internet" she then proceeds to tell me to get request my money back but I can't request my money back on a online website. I'm very upset that I had to make the drive just to have her tell me my food was not ready nor going to be made. Unprofessional will not be returning.

Around 2:30am on a Friday, my friend and I optimistically searched for open restaurants to satisfy our late night cravings. Luckily we stumbled across this gem -- the menu photos caught our attention and let's just say it did not disappoint in person! The owner Honey was super kind and welcoming (especially for someone working until 4 in the morning). We ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken, house salad with grilled shrimp and several sambusas (veggie and salmon). Even tho a little pricey, the portion sizes were relatively big and worth every bite! The fettuccine with chicken was super creamy and flavorful, a little oily and heavy but overall delicious and would definitely recommend. The salad was solid -- super fresh ingredients, dressing was very rich (also slightly heavy), but the shrimp was perfectly cooked and seasoned amazingly. The sambusas, aka Ethiopian samosas, were fried well and had a great crunch. Sadly, we ate them without realizing there was sauce provided. Definitely would have given an extra dimension of flavor -- learn from our mistakes! Overall a great food coma meal and will definitely be coming back to try the other dishes :)

The food here is so bomb. The chicken sandwich and fettuccine are so gob-smackingly delicious that it's worth the long wait times. The chicken sandwich is crispy with this secret golden sauce that's similar to a honey mustard-mayonnaise blend. I'm glad chicken breast is used instead of thigh since it keeps the sandwich from being too heavy. And oh man. The fettuccine. The fettuccine, you guys. It was so savory and creamy - definitely had to split it into a couple of meals. But this dish really hits the spot when it's 2 in the morning and you just finished a rainy and cold squidding session. Which is when I had it. I haven't given reviews in a good long while, but Mama Sambusa's is delicious and noteworthy for their food alone to leave a review. But let's really top off this review - the service is amazing. The sister who fries up the goodies at the front is friendly, confident, and really knows how to control the flow of customers when it gets busy. Highly recommend!!!

Please do not waist your time going here they are not open at the moment save your gas , very great food though !

My experience with Mama Sambusa Kitchen was not as great as the other reviewers. I called the restaurant around opening time (4pm) on Saturday to see if I could place an order for delivery through UberEats. I was told that they were not yet prepared to take delivery orders and that I could call them to place an order around 5pm. I waited an entire hour to give them a call and they did not answer. In fact, my calls started going straight to voicemail after the 3rd attempted call. I saw the address listed on Yelp so I decided to make a trip there. When I arrived, no one seemed to be there. I asked the men at the convenience store next door if Mama Sambusa Kitchen was open and one of the gentleman told me that she doesn't usually open until 5pm (By that time it was already 5:12pm). If you're hungry and time is important to you, this may not be the place to try out. Punctuality is important and this place doesn't seem to care.

I love that this place is right across the street. I have been here a few times and each time had great food. I have had the gyro, different sambusas, pasta, desserts...if it's on the menu, I've ordered it. Everything has been delicious. Most recently I had a pasta dish that I ordered late night and it was such a treat after a long night at work. The sauce was zesty and the noodles were cooked just right. Their cheesecake selection is great, I had the biscotti cheesecake and it slapped. Truly, everything I have had here is so good. The wait can be a little long, but good, fresh food takes times, so call ahead if you aren't particularly patient. They are open quite late, so if you get a hankering for something other than drive thru, this is the spot. Also, the owners are wonderful.

To start off the service was exceptionally bad. They had us wait outside for someone for far too long. That in itself was frustrating along with the server not communicating with us properly and it took 3 people for us to even get our food started. After our food seemed to be started or more so acknowledged it took them 30+ minutes to get our food ready. When we received our food to pay for it we were told 3 different prices and only allowed us to pay in cash. After receiving our food we also realized half of it wasn't there and we didn't have time to say anything because when we realized they were already gone.

I love supporting black businesses but I'm not here for emotional support so I'll cut to the chase this place ain't worth the hype. I've been here a couple times and I was pretty disappointed. The first time I went I had the chicken sandwich and it was poorly put together and had way too much sauce. Also the customer service is horrible I went with 3 other friends and one of my friends wasn't hungry so he didn't order and she decided to start making fun of him which is super rude. The wait time is also super long so I advise you call in and order if you insist on trying this place.

Came here late at night for a quick bite with my bf and didn't think too much of it since we were tired and just wanted to fill our tummies real quick. Our food came a little late (but very understandable, it was really late at night) but they accommodated us with their BOMBBBB golden sauce, some extra sambusas, and even offered some drinks to go with our food (we kindly declined because we already had drinks). As for the food itself...everything was delicious. We ordered their spaghetti, chicken sambusas, and beef sambusas. My bf didn't really like the spaghetti because he likes heavy sauce but I actually liked how it was light on sauce and extremely flavorful at the same time. The sambusas were basically flavor bombs in your mouth--not greasy at all and extremely crunchy and packed with flavor inside. We didn't even know there were sauces that they offered and I'm so glad they gave one for free because it was soooooo good (I cannot stress this enough). Definitely coming back again and planning to try their sandwiches and their other pastas. This might be our new spot for late night cravings :-)

Late night sambusas that are made to order? This is a miracle. Came here one night after work and ended up ordering 2 Chicken sambusas (they were sold out of the other options). Wait was roughly less than 10 minutes because they are fried when you order. I recommend calling before you arrive. I was asked if I wanted sauce and spicy. YES!!! I will never turn down an option to add more flavor to my food. This is the best sambusas I've ever had. Perfectly crunchy and when you take your first bite, all the essence and aroma seeps from the sambusa and it just takes over your senses. My only problem was that I'll have to order extra spicy next time, because for me it wasn't spicy at all. If you like sambusas or simply just like fried food, this place is a must try. Theres little excuse to not come here given that they are opwn till 4AM. I have to warn you that they do sell out early. Ive tried calling an order at 12AM and they told me they were all sold out of sambusas.

Food is good if you can catch them open . The hours are super hit and miss which is super irritating and not great for a food business.

Mama Sambusa is a small restaurant in South Seattle with delicious food. The service was great and everyone we interacted with was extremely friendly. Just make sure to call ahead and place your order via phone (or online) because there was only one person making the food when we went. Highly recommend the Kuku sandwich!

I feel bad , it seems like she's the only one who works there so naturally the wait time is going to be 40 min or so for food to be done. I ordered the shrimp pasta and a shrimp and chicken pasta and it sadly was way too salty, both my and my boyfriend agreed. Couldn't even eat the chicken or shrimp . If you go, just ask for the protein to not be too salty. She Just over seasoned it a bit. Food itself is aesthetically pleasing and is cooked correctly , not under done or over done. Seems like a lot of potential , but she could use some more help there.

I have waited a long time to try this place and it did not disappoint! Very delicious and very good portions. I had an issue ordering on the website and had to call it in instead but it wasn't that big of a deal. I will definitely be back again.

I dont do reviews much but this is my best late night go to's! Their sambusas are so homey and hearty it warms my heart! They make them fresh no matter how late it is! I got their beef sambusas and it was a burst of flavor on the first bite! Very generous on the spices and its absolutely delicious, if you dip it on their specially made sauce it changes the entire flavor profile to a whole new level of savory and sweet delicate taste! And the lady that accomodated me was the nicest sweetheart I've ever met! Definitely see the heart she put into this business! MVP!

I know they say it's open really late hours but every time I go even if it's just in the evening they are all out of things or not even open. I try calling before hand but can never reach anybody. The one time I did eat there the Sambusa's were tasty but the chicken pasta didn't have that much sauce to it and the sauce didn't have that much flavor but the chicken flavor was good just a little dry. I hope the next time I go I'm able to try it again and request extra pasta sauce.

I've been sick for several days since eating the Bashir biscoff cheesecake and the Fuad fettuccine Alfredo me and my daughter have been sick since the day we ordered from Mama Sambusa kitchen, please be aware of food poisoning before spending $35 on a stomachache/virus food.

I absolutely LOVE mama sambusas!!! I cannot believe all the haters in the comments. Ignore them! Subhanallah The food is amazing (especially the pasta, true Somali style). The salads and fish tacos are so yummy. The desserts are lovely and the sambosa are delicious. The owner is sweet, responsive, and makes everything from scratch. While sometimes it's closed (for good reasons), it's worth it! Keep trying and it's always worth a stop. One of my favorite spots on Ranier.

The cheesecake.. Omg! The best I've ever had, both the fruity pebble and cinnamon toast crunch was amazing. Mama was very nice and everything smelled amazing, going back to try the food soon for sure!

Loved the food and the service was a 10. Would definitely recommend supporting local black owned businesses. Will be returning to get my Sambusa fix.
