I like the vision here, but the execution falls a bit short. For everything I love that comes out of the Bullring, their takes on middle-eastern/Mediterranean food leaves me scratching my head sometimes.
Fresh, colorful, and tasty, but for the prices, I expect better. On my first visit the beets in the beet bowl were overcooked (had the texture of canned beets), and the rice in the rice bowl is insanely over-spiced. Coriander seeds and full peppercorns were literally everywhere in the rice, completely robbing the rice of it's inherent fragrance and subtle taste. As for the falafel, I like the colors/tastes, but too small and - as a result - crunch-to-filling ratio is too high. House pickles were lazy, at best. Za'atar fries were great.
