Mama Shelter Lisboa (Lisbon, Portugal) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Mama Shelter brand may no longer be the brash upstart it once was, but its hotels continue in the playfully confrontational style that marked their revolutionary debut, right down to the superhero masks that adorn the bedside lamps. But Mama Shelter Lisboa — set, fittingly, in the Portuguese capital’s French quarter — is no carbon copy of its elder sisters; rather, it’s tailored to its setting, applying local crafts, artworks, and materials to the brash and glamorous Mama Shelter aesthetic." - Tablet Hotels

Excellent check-in experience and truly outstanding kindness from the front desk agent, as well as from all staff members. The property is beautiful, well maintained and clearly cared for in every detail. I stayed in a medium room with terrace. The room is indeed small — as described — however it felt larger than expected. What slightly affects the experience is not so much the size, but the layout, which could be more ergonomic. The small sofa is aesthetically pleasing, but additional storage space would make the room more practical. The terrace, however, is wonderful: spacious, comfortable and with a lovely view. The bathroom is also very large and very comfortable. Overall, everything was much better than expected. The only aspect that did not suit me personally was the mattress, which was too soft for my preference — purely a matter of personal comfort.

Great experience at Mama Shelter from start to finish. Check in was fast & efficient with a very friendly receptionist. The room was smallish, but I knew this in advance and since I as alone it was not an issue.the bed was big and super comfy so I slept very well for the 3 nights I was there. The housekeeping crew were kind about cleaning on my schedule and did a great job. The breakfast was extremely generous but we found it to be much more than we needed so ate breakfast for next two mornings in a newly opened cafe. I had dinner and drinks on our last evening there and it was also fine. The staff here are very accommodating which made this restaurant a pleasant place to spend an evening. Reception allowed us a late check out at a reasonable rate. Overall, a lovely little hotel with good service and comfortable rooms. I highly recommend.

This was a small enough hotel to make it feel "comfy" although Mama Shelter is a chain hotel. Interesting room decor. The staff was nice and helpful. One staff member even researched options around for vegetarian meals (much appreciated). And, the cookies in my room upon arrival...got my stay off to a great start! I was able to enjoy meals in the restaurant. Also, have my nightly tea quietly in my room

Mama Shelter Lisbon is ideally located, making it easy to explore the entire city. With two major metro stations, a bus stop nearby, and convenient access to Rossio train station, getting around is effortless. The hotel offers good 3-star standards: the staff are welcoming, professional, and consistently helpful. The rooms are spacious, though they would benefit from some refreshing, as both the room décor and bathroom feel a bit dated. Minor maintenance issues were noticeable, such as a shaky sink tap. The ground-floor restaurant is a real highlight. Breakfast was enjoyed every morning, offering tasty and varied options. In the evenings, the atmosphere is lively and pleasant, attracting a diverse crowd of all ages and offering a varied menu.

Haven't been in the hotel but in the pizzeria at ground floor. Very good pizzas indeed and nice service there by Ehsan and Maria and all the other team members . There was one upside error in my bill made by another attendant for an ingredient that was initially ordered as extra but not available and left as extra in my bill. Not so serious. I will come back at rooftop time...

Very okay stay. Pretty disappointed but you get what you pay for. Room was EXTREMELY small. We could not open our suitcases. However, the view was nice and it was quiet. We were celebrating my partner’s 30th birthday which I told them ahead of time and at check in we were told there was a “birthday gift” in the room. Again, disappointed to find the “birthday gift” said “happy anniversary” 😑 The restaurant was good but VERY expensive. Twice as much as our meal at Porta Final. Also we booked the stay with our credit card and our reservation said we had a 10 euro hotel credit. However when we tried to use it at the restaurant we were told we could only get 1 glass of “welcome champagne.” The booking clearly said we could use it for food or drinks, so limiting it to a cheap glass of champagne for one person that we didn’t want was again disappointing. It’s also a 30 minute walk from any sightseeing. The lifts were also incredibly slow. We waited 10 minutes once to get down from the lobby to the second floor. I would not say again, but the staff was friendly.

What a great hotel! While the location isn't in the center of the action (it's nice and quiet area), everything was very easily accessible by foot or public transportation. The room was very clean, cutely decorated and the bedding was exceptional. The comforter was so cozy, it was the best sleep I had for my whole holiday! Staff was friendly too. I would stay there again!!

Fantastic stay for a long weekend exploring Lisbon - walkable to the city centre, or by scooter if you can brave the cobbles. Staff were really friendly, the rooftop bar is fantastic- with excellent views, and though we didn't use the restaurant, it was nice to know we had a backup for food if needed. Will be keeping an eye out for Mama shelters for other city breaks
