Maman Joon Capitol Hill

New gem on Barracks Row! For our family of four, we ordered combo 1, combo 3, a falafel sandwich, a side salad shirazi and some must o mooseer. We all were impressed with the dishes and definitely will return to try other items. The combo can be served with rice or salad, bread and yogurt. The yogurt was outstanding. The salad was not impressive. Unfortunately, there's only one small table with three chairs to dine in.

My family and I tried the restaurant for the first time for takeout. We ordered the salmon sandwich, which was excellent and very large. My husband got the chicken kebab with vegetables and rice. We also ordered the grape leaves as a side, which I loved! Everything was great and we will definitely go back. I’m interested in trying one of the family deals next time, which seemed like an affordable and healthy option for a weeknight when I don’t want to cook!

We went there to get some Iranian food. We went to Maman Joon as we noticed it's pretty close to our hotel. The location is good with a decent amount of parking lot to park. We asked for two Koobidehes with breads. They gave it to us with freshly baked bread, and we loved it. It came with yogurt and minced vegetables. The koobideh was a decent size and good. We took it and ate it by the park nearby as they do not have an area to sit and eat. But overall it is one of the good restaurants to eat at compared to Iranian restaurants I've seen before.

So glad Maman Joon opened up on Capitol Hill! I didn't want to cook, and it is right next to the Metro. We got the family meal so we could try a bit of everything for future take-out. It was all delicious! The chicken, beef, and kofta kebabs were all tasty -- not overcooked or dried out. The falafel was light, but crispy. We got a huge portion of rice, which was light and fluffy. The humus, tzatziki, and eggplant spreads (much like baba ghanoush) were great. There aren't any tables for seating, but that works great for us! Will definitely go again! The staff was really friendly too!

Stopped in for a quick sandwich and they were fast and friendly. The food was amazing I had a salmon sandwich. Highly recommend!! Very delicious! Looking forward to trying more of their food.

We are DC locals and this place blew our minds. Everything was so delicious, piping hot, flavorful, tender, and perfectly cooked. Sauces were amazing. Giant portions, good prices. Do not miss this place if you’re in Cap Hill / Eastern Market area

We were at Maman Joon resturant today, and Hamid was the best! He was super friendly and made sure we had a blast. The kabab was seriously amazing and juicy. I totally recommend this place; it was a great experience. Thanks, Hamid, for the awesome service!

I ordered a falafel side dish and a vegan Shirazi salad to go, and the very friendly employee asked if I liked hummus, I said yes and she gave me a to-go container of the hummus which is quite delicious once I tried it at home! I highly recommend this place❤️!

Koobideh Sandwich was delicious. Green sauce and yogurt sauce are very good. My only complaint is that the meat to bread ratio is off. It seems too much pita not enough meat. But I really enjoyed what I tasted. Service was nice. It's a small takeout spot, so there's not much to say about the ambiance, but places like this are definitely needed in the neighborhood.

Im Persian so I was .. hesitant- but craving the flavors and spices that go into our kabobs. Mr Amin was so friendly and personable ! He cooked the meats longer (we prefer them charred) the rice was light fluffy and PLENTY! The grilled tomato and onion = SUGAR! Generous amounts of home made bread and wonderful yogurt and green sauce ! The best part ? IT IS MADE FRESH TO ORDER! I have photos to prove it. On an open flame. What a treat! Cute and efficient take out place. Please check them out !

My family and I got takeout, and I really liked it. The portions were very generous. The sandwich is huge. We look forward to going back and will try one of their family deals, which seems very affordable. The food was great, and the service was friendly. The restaurant is a pretty small space, so not terrible suitable to eating there, but perfect for carryout.

I'm still in here waiting for my food but they are very kind and even gave me some samples to try! The meats are well seasoned and it's quite small but cozy. It's currently storming and I just know my food is going to taste amazing while watching the rain!! Very kind people :)

I ordered food to go and they make it fresh for you which only took about 15 minutes. I got the combination 1 plate and it was delicious! The chicken was not dry at all and had so much flavor and the beef also very well cooked. I also enjoyed the hummus. The service was great and fast, I will definitely be coming back.

My family of 5 enjoyed our dinner from here. We got the Beef Koobideh with rice and Hummus. Everything was seasoned perfectly.
