"Think of the Maman takeover as New York’s way of getting even with us for giving them Pura Vida. The bakery now has a location in South Miami, where you can find the same genre of salads, wraps, and pastries as their other locations." - mariana trabanino, virginia otazo

This beautiful cafe in the heart of South Miami will make your morning feel special. Great service, delicious food and great coffee. Plenty of parking nearby. I’ll be back to try other items on the menu. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

I live in MD and there are several Maman Cafés in my vicinity. While visiting Miami, Florida during Thanksgiving week, my family and I were looking for a nice brunch place, and we settled for Maman in South Miami. The place was packed for brunch but the service seemed smooth because of the number of servers available. We were promptly seated and a gentleman who seemed to be the manager took our orders. We ordered the quiche Lorraine, which come with a side salad: the chicken wrap and the breakfast bowl with an extra egg. We also shared an order of the cene fraîche pancakes. We Aldo had American coffee and a couple of glasses of wine. The food was delicious and served piping hot! I highly recommend Maman South Miami (there is another location in Coral Gables).

Best bakery breakfast & lunch. Went 2 times bc the orange juice cannot be better anyway where else!! Near Stanton Hotel in S Beach. If you go to Starbucks you are missing out big-time! Lovely staff. Outside seating and French music, you might want to order ahead online when it is busy.

Amazing place to eat. Great ambiance. The food was superb. Make sure you ask for the "Pablito". That's the omelet with an over easy egg on top. Back again February 2025! Ordered more "pablitos"

I loved this cafe so much!! Amazing food and such a pretty atmosphere. I got the coconut water matcha and it was so good, which was amazing because not many places have great matcha. I also got Elisa’s breakfast and I absolutely loved it.

Maman, French for Mother was opened by Elisa Marshall a wedding planner and Benjamin Sormonte a corporate lawyer in 2014, in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City. The French style café was inspired by the owners wish to have a place that was warm and inviting as opposed to trendy. Family and friends helped to paint walls and stain floors and to keep costs down, items were repurposed. All of the profits from New York were used to fund their second café, Maman, Toronto. In 2017 Manan received national attention when Oprah Winfrey selected their Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookie as one of Oprah's Favorite Things. Maman has now expanded to over 30 cafés and a lifestyle brand punctuated by their blue and white porcelain and selling cookbooks, aprons and kitchen accessories, and partnering with jewelry brands and children's wear. Maman has now opened several locations in South Florida including this café, in South Miami which opened in September. The all-day café serves salads, sandwiches, their famous chocolate chip cookies along with other pastries and baked goods. They host weekend brunch with a full bar and are available for private events. I was wandering the shops of South Miami and was drawn in by the reputation of their famous cookies. You can dine or grab a treat from the bakery case as I did. I asked for one of their chocolate chip cookie but the one I was given was a tad over baked. At $5 a cookie I was disappointed as I have had better Maman experiences. As the cookie is their signature item you would expect a bit more care. Be sure and download their app for deals and notifications about new menu items. Burned cookie aside, this is a beautiful cafe ideal for a girlfriends lunch or shower.

Update: I'm not 100% sure what the policy is for sit down vs order up front but it seems that if they're busy/in a lunch rush, you sit down and order; if its not super busy you pay up front and then they givr you a number to bring your food/drinks to you. Also, be aware that they do get very busy in the mornings and around lunch, so sometimes innocent mistakes with orders do happen, but I've never had a problem asking for a change/its never been a massive problem. TL;DR: this place is quite popular so sometimes mistakes can happen or you may need to wait for a bit, but the food and ambience are worth it and the people who work there are really nice and accomodating! It was quite lively when I went around lunchtime, but it's such a nice place to be that it was actually really nice to be around - the decoration and the way the tables are placed can actually make it feel intimate even though the restaurant might be pretty full. The food I had, the steak sandwich, was absolutely amazing. The combination of the mint, the tahini, the pickled onions, arugula, thinly sliced red cabbage, and savory meat was mindblowing, and the baguette was really crunchy! Lots of textures to get into. I will say that it can be a little tricky if you have a smaller mouth 😅 but it was definitely something I would get again. It doesnt come with anything, but you can get a side of salad, and to be honest, the sandwich is a pretty balanced, generous option, even without the salad. I also had the iced coconut water matcha, which came in a beautifully delicate glass; its quite strong and not sweetened, so its perfect if you're looking for a true matcha hit that's got a light coconut flavor, but the server did mention that many people find it a bit difficult and need some syrup. However, I think its nice as is, and would probably be a great drink to pair with their sweet desserts or breakfast options. I also had the pecan pie latte, one of the seasonal specials; lots of great milk foam and not too sweet. I would highly recommend Maman on Sunset Place; the food and drinks are wonderful, the decor really sets you at ease and keeps you interested, and the service was attentive and generous, and not intrusive or pushy, even when they're busy! I appreciated this because I sat to read, and stayed for several hours between waiting for food, which did take a bit of time because they were busy when I walked in, and just relaxing after eating; sometimes places feel a bit pushy when they need the table for other customers, but I didnt feel rushed at all. There are also sockets in some parts of the seating area, so you could conceivably sit down and actually work/charge your devices too! Their menu looks so good, and the experience was so pleasant, that I'm seriously considering going back again tomorrow! Definitely a place I'll be returning to.

Yelp
Stopped by pick up an iced vanilla latte I ordered online and the cafe itself was so cute! Beautifully decorated and filled with patrons I would love to come back and dine in. I went to the counter and told them my name and my coffee was ready. By the time I was out the door I had taken a few sips... the coffee was delicious!!! By the time I snapped the picture of my drink I was ready to chug it. Great iced coffee, would order again.

Yelp
The only reason why I'm giving it a 4/5 stars is because I have not tried enough things on the menu. I went for my sister-in-law's baby shower and it was absolutely stunning. The decoration, the service, the complete vibe of this place is phenomenal! Their coffee is great, the Matcha is great, and their pastries are to die for. They have a good selection of food options, not too little not too many options (which I love... I get overwhelmed with many options lol) I definitely want to return again for a proper sit down brunch meal, I love that this is located in the heart of South Miami. We need more restaurants like this.!!

Yelp
Nice to have a Maman in south Miami as the area was in desperate need of new places to combat the slow death of Sunset Place. My hopes were high but the place did not live up to its fame... Maman has decent flavored coffee and the pastries smell delectable. Unfortunately they barely have gluten free offerings and the very few are packaged and not fresh, worse is that they are overpriced and don't taste good at all. Cute place but over priced for a chain. The croissant I was told was decent but nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Was excited to go to Maman since I had previously tried them at an elite event earlier this year. But, my excitement was not met with the expectations I had! First of all, I'm giving it 3 stars for the beautiful space that it is. And for it being close to me in South Miami. The place is very aesthetically pleasing and perfect for a girls meet up or a place you would take your mom to. The China is beautiful. I love the plates, which I thought were actually from France but they're made in China. Ok no biggie, keep going... We tried the Cranberry/orange croissant roll and the chocolate hazelnut babka and they were both just ok. Not sure if the croissant role is supposed to be more dense than a regular croissant but I did not like it. It was too thick, too dry and bland. I did not taste too much of the chocolate hazelnut flavor in it. The cranberry / orange was a little better as far as the flavor but it was still dry and too dense. I need my croissants to be buttery and flaky or soft. We ordered a hot chocolate with oat milk that again was really bland. Was not satisfied with our 3 tries. Not sure if I would return to try other things since there are other French bakeries in my area. This being my least favorite. The service was good. The lady that took our order was pleasant. It's near Sunset place where the old Dr. Smood location was in the corner. Again, if you don't mind flavorless, dense pastries than this is your place. I'm skipping over to another one. Just my 2 cents.

Yelp
Food is really really amazing here! They have a nice and seemingly healthy menu with plenty of gluten free options. Everything we had was good but I've tried two salads and the tomato soup which is worth it! Their coffee however is a bit overpriced

Aldana A.

Yelp
This is the third Maman location that I have been to that I have been disappointed. The service is all over the place. The sandwich was dry. The veggie sandwich. The only three good things was the matcha, americano, and croissant. It's a cute spot. Very aesthetic. But the food is not worth the price. And there is an automatic service charge. I am only going to come here for a grab and go pastry from now on. Not worth the prices .

Yelp
From the second you walk in, staff is there for your every need. The decor is light blue and gray and makes you feel like you're somewhere else. The food was very good I got the salmon croissant and it was small but so good. The croissant was more like a crusty croissant bread. It was messy but delicious. The steak sandwich was good but needed extra sauce which they provided on the side. As for bakery items, the cookies and chocolate almond croissant are a must!

Jeannette V.

Yelp
Today I got some croissants for the kids breakfast tomorrow. Everything here is so delicious and always fresh.

Kassandra G.

Yelp
Very cute cafe with such a fancy/casual vibe! This cafe is perfect for a girls brunch and they have a happy hour?! The food is overall very tasty and they have so many pastries to choose from! Their croissants are definitely winners in my book! The coffee is also delicious! Highly recommend the honey cinnamon latte! Parking is mostly street parking which is very normal for south miami! There is plenty of spots! Service wise, you order at the counter and the food is brought to your table, but the wait staff is very friendly and accommodating! They cleaned my table for me right away and made sure we weren't meeting anything. Overall nice place, a bit pricy, but very on par for miami cafes and most of all such a good vibe!

Yelp
It's my first time coming here and William greeted me when I walked in and took my order. He helped me figure out what I wanted by giving me some recommendations had a sample of their vegan sesame tahini dark chocolate cookie which is something I normally wouldn't try but it was SO GOOD. William made this experience so nice and his kindness as well as the delicious food makes me want to come back! John also helped me and was very kind as well! Thank you William & John

Yelp
Coffee makes a big difference. Place was busy, but nicely decorated. Staff was friendly and we were seated promptly despite the crowds. Egg white omelette was delicious as well as the croissants. Lively atmosphere. Only complaint, we asked our server twice to check on our coffee order, which took 23 minutes. We flagged down a manager and informed him of the delay. We were halfway through our breakfast when it finally arrived. Coffee made the difference, hence the 4 star review.

Yelp
Extremely attractive interior and top notch latte and pastries , service is great - food is a bit on the heavier side with heavy salt and cream and pastries are a bit on the sweet side but overall texture is good

Yelp
LOVE THIS QUAINT RESTAURANT TUCKED IN A CORNER OF SUNSET DRIVE... Great food options especially if you are Gluten-Free.... The Matcha is to die for It was so good, we ordered one to go! Staff was very attentive and you left feeling satisfied and well taken care of! Atmosphere is pleasing to the eyes and smell! Cute decor and the pastries look AMAZING and taste INCREDIBLE! Definitely worth the 5 Owner is friendly and visits the tables to make sure you're enjoying your experience

Anadir E.

Yelp
It wasn't the best croissant it wasn't fresh. The bag is beautiful. The place is amazing and the staff are friendly.

Young H.

Yelp
I went here with family for a Saturday bunch. When we got there it was packed! And a long line behind us... so we thought this must be very very good... Food: well, they mainly serve croissants and coffees. Other options were limited. Croissant-wise, it wasn't the best, it wasn't the worst! I had better. For the price vs quality ratio, it wasn't worth it for the price. Beware: don't get the croissant assortment! It's not worth it. Service: Good and caring service! But I think we got the boss/manager serving us. ‍ Ambiance: loud and cozy. The place is more like a coffee shop than a restaurant. So it's very cozy. Our table wasn't too far from another table behind us, in front of us, not next to us. When it's a crowded and cozy place, noise level increases... this is definitely. It a date bunch place.

Yelp
Tried Maman South Miami for the first time with a takeout order. Ordered a breakfast sandwich, but it was missing the sunny eggs. Didn't have time to go back and was hungry, so I ate it as is. For the price, the sandwich wasn't great and felt underwhelming. Overall, a disappointing first experience, and I doubt I'll be back.

Hannah Nicole C.

Yelp
Looooove the vibe of the cute little cafe. Walking in, the decor and the feel is exactly what I would imagine a cute little cafe in France would feel like. The pastry we got was soooo yummy, perfect flakiness, and just the right amount of sweetness. We tried the honey lavender latte, and it's a must try!!! The staff is great, very friendly and we see ourselves making a stop here often!

Lauren R.

Yelp
Happy that this restaurant has joined the South Miami area. It's got gorgeous decor. You order and pay at the front, and they bring it to your table. Good wifi if needed. We got: Bella's Ham and Cheese Croissant Sandwich -- added a sunny side up egg ($4 extra) and it did not come in the sandwich, but on the side (not what we expected). It's not your typical croissant; it has an everything bagel edge, so if you're not into those flavors, I'd suggest asking for a plain one. *FYI - The eggs are pricey and really really small. Elisa's Breakfast Bowl -- delicious combo of ingredients; I ordered toast on the side ($5 for two slices of bread) as there wasn't enough farro and felt it needed more grains Chocolate Chip Cookie -- delicious Pistachio and Chocolate Croissant - tasty tasty tasty Iced Matcha Latte w/ Coconut Milk -- too much matcha; too strong Overall, I think it's good. I do think it's on the pricier side and not everything per se is worth that amount.

Rob M.

Yelp
First time trying ratatouille and it was delicious. The place makes tasty and healthy food. The ambiance gives a very sunny positive earthy vibe. The service was decent . Nothing very good or very bad occurred.

Laura T.

Yelp
love love love !! the food is delicious as well as the pastries / bakery items. the ambiance is super cute inside they also have a little gift shop. amazing little coffee, brunch, lunch spot!

Johana L.

Yelp
My family and I live nearby and we come here every morning on our way to the park or after my Pilates class. They always are friendly, professional, and have never incorrectly made our food orders. Sometimes it can get busy especially on the weekends, but even when they are their customer service is top notch. Their food options are delicious that range to healthy and or light, to heartier options but still overall healthy so there are options for everyone. Lots of coffee/drink and pastry options with various milk options and substitutions. Recommend any of their pastries and their seasonal drinks are also great! 10/10, would highly recommend if you're in the area.

Steve J.

Yelp
Coffee is pretty much undrinkable. Service exceptionally slow even though not crowded, about 20 minutes before coffee showed up. Nice garden seating and staff very pleasant

Rose D.

Yelp
Looking for somewhere different to get coffee while visiting. Came across here. Got a latte with pumpkin flavoring. I LOVE that they make their own flavorings and not use bottled ones. They used pumpkins purée to make their flavored syrup. Service was great. Ambiance was adorable. Also got a pumpkin filled squared croissant. This was really good too.

Cindi A.

Yelp
What a great addition to South Miami. I'm giving it 5 stars because I am so happy to have a new yummy lunch place in the area, HOWEVER I would love to see more vegetarian options here. Lots of items that could be vegetarian have bacon on them. That said, everything I've had here is really good.

Alexandria S.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised how great this place is! The guava lemonade was delicious and "Elisa's breakfast bowl" was so yummy! And the famous cookie was just as good as I expected it to be. Everything tasted fresh and good quality. For Miami, things were reasonably priced as well. Service was a little slow but it was busy. GREAT ambiance, so pretty inside, great vibe. Definitely will be returning :)

Mads D.

Yelp
Great experience having a quick snack over my morning emails. It's such a lovely atmosphere and the pastries are the star of the show. Love that the pastries are not overpowering in sweetness but having a perfect balance to give you such a delightful treat.

Monica R.

Yelp
This place is really cute and the coffee was great. However, they do get really busy I ordered a latte and it took almost 15 minutes to get. When I asked about it, the order had never been entered even though I paid.

Olivia M.

Yelp
Amazing!!! Super unique coffee and very flavorful desserts. I ordered on Uber eats and got an extra slice of the pumpkin spice carrot cake that was incredible. I look forward to eating here again.

Michael L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Maman. The perfect working lunch café. Solid sandwiches, soups, and baked goods. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Carolina R.

Yelp
Really enjoyed brunch here with my kids. We loved the coffee and waffles. I'm so excited they opened in south miami!

Paty R.

Yelp
I checked out this place while I was in the sunset area. Very cute decor, and ambiance is "Brunch perfect" for a latte, croissant, and conversation. Service was great! They are very attentive, quick and responsive. Portions aren't huge, very European size, but just enough. A little pricier than a low key cafe.
