Mamancy Tea & Chocolate

I have been here multiple times over the years for the High Tea service and to buy loose leaf teas. The tea service is always delicious, well-planned, and complements the range of teas offered. The staff is ALWAYS polite, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable about the teas and foods they serve. Teas are freshly brewed when brought to the table and tiny tea candles help keep the teas warm. There is an unlimited amount of tea for a 2-hr block. Buying the loose leaf tea is also a pleasant expereince. They are packaged well and the clear labels help with understanding what the tea is (black, herbal, etc), what it is mixed with (herbs, spices, other teas, fruits, so on), how to brew it, how much is one serving, if it is certified organic or not (most if not all are organic), and the caffeine levels. The tins are usually 33-35 servings. There are 2 sizes of the bags but if you get a tin you can reuse them for the bagged teas. I always have a delightful expereince and look forward to my next visit! I tell everyone that likes tea to go here!

This tea place is ADORABLE firstly, and secondly the food was incredible! My friend and I have been talking about the quality of the tea sandwiches for weeks after we visited. The bread was nice and soft and the fillings were so refreshing! Our little chocolates and pastries were super tasty as well, and we really enjoyed the pomegranate and arugula salad that came out before our tower! We kept forgetting to take pictures before eating because it all looked so tasty (and it was!) Overall, it was a very fun experience and we'll be back soon!

My friend and I reserved the two hour English High Tea and arrived a little early. We ordered the Earl Grey and Vanilla Rooibos teas and had a great time. I did not take pictures of the food, but I loved the lemon tart and blueberry parfait. The cucumber and pear apple sandwhiches were a favorite as well as the surprisingly zingy samosas. After we each purchased some hand crafted chocolates and loose leaf tea. I highly recommend and hope to visit again and try the African Tea service.

Book the experience here! The place smelled so good when we walked in and the vibe of the room was so pretty and fun. The owner was so sweet and attentive, and she makes all the little savories and sweets herself from scratch. All the food was incredibly delish and we all felt so fancy! This would be an amazing place for a bridal or baby shower.

I went to Mamancy with a close friend of mine this Saturday and had the most amazing time! The ambiance is so charming and inviting, we couldn't stop commenting on it during our get together! The teas are to die for, and the towers are delicious and esthetically pleasing! I will certainly be recommending this beautiful gem to anybody and everybody! Such a wonderful spot for any occasion, whether you're going on a first date, anniversary, meeting with a friend or family member. Whatever the occasion, Mamancy is the place to go!!! Lovely place for a relaxing time sharing with your loved ones. And we had a wonderful team building here to make the delicious chocolate. Attended with a group of ladies who saw myself and family through my husband's terminal illness and eventual passing. These were just a few of supporters. So thankful for these lovely ladies and the love they have shared. The tea was wonderfully presented with each of us being able to select our own pot of tea, then being deivered a tiered tray of tea sandwiches and pure decadence. Thank you for your accommodation of our group. Yours is a quiet place of simple decor, where we could easily visit without trying to overtalk surrounding guests. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

We came here for the high tea experience and had such a lovely time! The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere was really calm and relaxing. It was also very kid friendly. My 4 year old was given her own smaller pot of tea served at a kids temperature and her own special sandwiches. She loved everything and had so much fun tasting all of the food on the tower. We will definitely be back.

Went for mother's day. Lovely decor, little spoons and forks. Staff was friendly. Sandwiches were ok(bready), cookies and chocolate were excellent, scones very tasty. Only tried one tea which was good, tumeric Chai. Good location for doing alittle shopping after.

Very slow service. It was an hour and half before food arrived. If we had not pre-paid, we would definitely have left. Tea selection was extremely limited for afternoon tea. Food was mediocre at best; tasted like items you could pick up pre-packaged from grocery store. Our server was nice and trying to do her best as the only person manning the entire place. Restaurant itself was cute and feminine. There are much better places to have high tea in the Portland area.

The high tea experience is incredible! Everything we had was delicious and fresh. Our favorites included the pickle cream cheese sandwich, the berry scones with mascarpone and jam, the mini lemon tarts, and the tiny quiches. The tea was great too. It may seem pricey, but honestly, it's a steal for the quality and quantity of food that you get. We also loved the frilly, flowery vibe and the excellent service. Will definitely be back!

This is an experience I would recommend! My wife and I had never been to any kind of fancy tea place but we saw that Portland had a couple of them and some would do the High Tea experience, which includes trying various tea and having a light lunch. My wife had just had her birthday and wanted to see the High Tea experience firsthand. And even better, they had tasting rooms in Beaverton and Hillsboro so we could stay local. We chose the Hillsboro location in the nice block of downtown they have. You have to make a reservation so we did. It wasn't a huge room but all tables were full on an early Saturday afternoon. They sat you at a table with mugs and fine china for a little tea party. The menu was laid out ahead of time and then you could pick the teas to have. I enjoyed them- I am not an expert but I tried a couple and liked the variety. They gave us instructions on when to drink and even a timer for when we should pour. Then the food came out- first a small bowl of broccoli cheddar soup, which was good, then the pastry and sandwich tray. I did get a picture of that. The High Tea experience is listed as "a light meal of scones, pastries, assorted treats, and finger sandwiches." That is what we got. The scones were good and about what you would expect from a nice local bakery. There were some small hors d'oeuvres like a mini quiche with bacon and cheese and then a small pastry with tomato and olive, very tasty. The finger sandwiches for that day were cucumber and cream (a British staple I am told), red pepper and hummus, and then turkey lunchmeat with goat cheese and a cranberry spread- that was my favorite. They also gave a couple treats for the last part, a macaroon and a cupcake, and then a shot glass filled with whipped cream and a strawberry jello/jam type thing. All very good, and not too much to be overwhelming. Overall, it was a delightful experience. We were happy to give it a try. The only drawback I have is that it cost about $65 per person, which I felt a little steep considering what we got. Again all the food was very good and it is meant to be a light lunch, but the portions were all so small that I don't quite feel like it added up... I could just go to a local bakery and get a variety of things with more substance, for less money. We did get to try several teas so that is part of the experience.

We had a lovely time at tea! The ambiance, service and food was all great. We will return for more fun

Lovely local business with classy high tea, chocolate, and Boba for summer afternoons. Their Boba is delicious and felt filling and not to sweet, just the way I like. Friendly employees and quick service.

Terrible experience! I would prefer to give it no stars. I scheduled a tea for myself and my mother in advance, one omnivore and one vegan. Upon arriving, I confirmed this with a member of staff. We then waited at least 30 minutes before being asked what tea we would like and the server discouraged us from ordering too many as to not make it difficult for her. We then did not receive refills to tea, or additional items until we had been there for over an hour. We received fruit, then later soup. I received the Indian curry soup. The base was good, but the chickpeas on top were so hard I couldn't even bite into them. After our tea had gone cold, we finally had another member of staff come to assist. We asked when our food would arrive, he said shortly. He refilled our teas and poured "fresh" cold water on the side for drinking, mine was white and clearly dirty, so he refilled. After repeated asks of when our food would be done given we (and the only other party there who arrived before us and also repeatedly expressed concern) had been there for over two hours, it finally came out. Neither were vegan, it took an additional 30 minutes for the vegan meal (which a member of staff had to ask what vegan entailed). It was not much food and I'm not sure if it is the full vegan offering. One of each of our meals was a sandwich square that was pb&j and olives/roast beef - inedible. A member of staff told us this experience was not typical, as the entire experience should only take two hours for completion, not items coming out after two hours. I asked for a refund and was denied. I was offered a partial gift card and repeatedly given excuses after ongoing back and forth. I was more than happy to settle this matter privately but this was unacceptable. I have been to number of establishments for tea and never had this poor of a service. Would have loved to patronize this establishment and would have considered returning, however, the poor service and response to my valid complaints is disgusting. Reported as fraud to my credit card!

Me and my family went here couple days before valentine's day, Very akward experience. The business owner, was rude to employees. They didn't have the little papers to put the chocolates in, and the employee helping us was extremely under trained. However, I ordered a honey black tea and it was very good! it had a very nice vanilla taste. Yea i don't recommend going here, Very rude business owner.

If you have the blessed opportunity to enjoy afternoon tea at Mamancy, DO IT! I enjoyed a relaxing, decadent, two hours of heaven. I am an avid fan of afternoon tea in any city on any day of the week. The food was delicious. The variety exceptional. And the flavors unexpected, but in the best way. Service was stellar and I had an opportunity to meet the owner Anne, who was kind and accommodating. The staff was attentive and responsive whenever I needed anything. And the English Breakfast tea was the best I've ever had. Support your local tea shop that is also a small family business.

Do not waste your money here! Anne the owner is greedy and a bully. She charges $50 per person for high tea then begs the guests to wait so she can go to the grocery store. She is extremely unorganized and rude to her employees. There is a bad fruit fly infestation. If you like loose leaf tea go somewhere else.

Delicious tea and food. The customer service was wonderful as well even though we had a last minute request. I wish we could go every weekend.

I don't know who left good reviews here. They must be the owners' friends. The food was really BAD!! service was even worse. We waited almost 3 hours for our food to come. Tea was cold. They did not worm it up. I would never have "High Tea" here again. What a waste of money!!!!

I just attended Coffee Connection through the Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted at Mamancy. Jane, the owner of Mamancy, was very friendly and welcoming and the space is really nice and laid back. There are a large assortment of teas, chocolates and pastries. I tried the double caramel chocolates and oh my lord they were heavenly. Highly recommend visiting Mamancy and getting tea here. I have heard the high tea is really good as well and something I am looking forward to trying.

I got the iced lavender fog and was delighted with the taste. The workers there greeted me nicely when I came through. I really like the environment and ambiance of this tea shop and will definitely come back again. They allowed me to smell some of their loose leaf teas they had and I was very awed by how unique the names were. I definitely want to try their chocolates next time! Disappointed that they cannot offer bubble tea also. They do have powders ready packaged in their shop but because of possible "competition" amongst another bubble tea shop in the plaza they're not allowed to make it, would be nice though

Incredible tasting chocolates!!! Melt in your mouth and new and different flavors- unique Definitely going to be gifting these !!

Love the selection of teas! The chocolate mint tea in particular is amazing! I've only been to the downtown Hillsboro location, but I'm looking forward to their tea room expansion!

I would just have to say this is incredibly low budget and not really a Tea Room....and I certainly would not purchase any chocolates as I've seen how the food is handled when the children are around. Better and more authentic experiences for Tea in Hillsboro.

This place is awesome. I went to the one off of canyon in beaverton town center (which is new). They have a lot of interesting teas and she lets you smell them and she explains all about them. The chocolates look yummy! She said they will have kids tea parties too, which I can't wait for! This is a Black, female owned business - get out there and support her!

Wow! What a lovely shop! It was just pure delight to find this beautiful tea and chocolate shop just a few short weeks ago. The owner Anne is so sweet and so helpful! Her chocolates are so delicious! Our favorite so far is the key lime. It's out of this world delicious! We really love her teas too! We especially love the caramel black tea. We needed up buying some for gifts too! We look forward to visiting again to try more! Yum!

If you like teas you'll love this place, it's my new favorite store. The owner is a wonderful genuine person, definitely worth the trip. I will definitely be go back.
