Mamasita's Mexican Grill

Came to Odessa for a Wedding, looked Up restaurant and this one had good reviews, so we decided to try it. This was the best decision we made, their food was delicious, service was wonderful and the margarita did not disappoint! Will definitely be coming back!

I’ve been a regular customer at this restaurant and have even brought clients here in the past, but after my most recent experience, I will never return. While dining with my family, my 9-month-old son accidentally pulled on a decorative plant and it fell. No one said anything to us during the meal, but when I got the bill, there was a mysterious $75 charge. Only after I followed up did I learn it was for the plant—something that costs around $8. When I called to discuss the charge, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude from management. I was told, “You shouldn’t let your baby destroy plants,” and then they hung up on me. Accidents happen, especially with small children, and I would have been happy to talk reasonably about it if the situation had been handled professionally. Instead, I was charged an unreasonable amount without warning and treated with complete disrespect. I’ve supported this place for a long time, but after this experience, I can’t in good conscience continue to do so.

Mamacitas in Odessa is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Mexican food! The dishes are packed with flavor and absolutely satisfying. Service was quick and friendly—Greta made our visit even better with her attentiveness. Highly recommend stopping by for a great meal and a welcoming atmosphere!

The waiting staff gave great customer service. The food was so delicious along with the margaritas. Thank you for the fabulous dinner.

Amazing place to eat!!! They were super fast even though it was lunch rush hour. Love our server Sarah she was so friendly and suggested something that we never would have thought of and it was amazing!! And the price was super affordable for a family of 4. And I would definitely be coming back again soon.

I would like to post a review about a review written by Jonathon Garcia on this sight earlier. I have been waiting for that person that I was sitting next to, to actually do what he just did I’m a frequent customer to this establishment and happened to be there Sunday when this happened about 245. I am sure the owner won’t respond to this but I would like to set the record straight. I am more then happy to tell the whole story. My wife and I set there and watched your wife holding the baby most of the time and the baby continuously pulled on that box of plants. After about 10 minutes the whole box of plants crashed to the floor. Never once did you attempt to clean up the mess or acknowledge what had happened. You shoved it to the side and continued eating your dinner. The hostess finally came over and cleaned up the mess which I was polite enough to tip her for since you decided to stomp out of the restaurant once they made it very clear what was going on. If you will look at that sticker you posted it doesn’t state “cane plant” it states “salmon rose” again another statement you got wrong. If I owned the restaurant I would have gladly escorted you and your family of 6 that were at that table out the front door. The food has always been amazing, staff always going the extra mile. My wife and I get asked no less then 5 times each time we visit if everything is ok or we need something. So please before you want to sit behind your phone or computer and make false accusations, think about what you are doing or saying it effects a lot of people and this time they didn’t deserve it.

Negative stars if it was an option. Horrible food and service… burnt chips, spicy salsa, soggy bland rice. It took 20 women who rushed to the front to comp off meals that sucked. The enchiladas were so overly spiced it’s painful. The waitress failed to inform me of the heat within the red sauce which would have been helpful. Waitress suggested a sour cream packet to help after the fact. The manager almost scolded me for not liking the food. What happened to “the customer is always right” the waitress made a “pssstttt” sound as I was walking off with my family, baby and son. Things like this do not need to be made into a skeptical. It’s honestly appalling. I pray for businesses like this. I Do not recommend whatsoever.

I have been here so many times over the years. The seating is fast, the food is amazing as always. My number 1 is the chicken tacos with rice and beans. Their red cheese are also amazing!

I love their chili rellenos. If we happen to be in town when they are open it's our go to for good food. They stay busy but they are always friendly and willing give you good service. My sister is the one that showed me this restaurant and I'm glad she did!!

Meat is bland. Not as good as it used to be. Doesn't seem to be as much and prices are higher

It was great, the food was good. The service was amazing and fast. Beware the red sauce is very spicy, still enjoyed it but boy it had me sweating lol. Only thing that kept me from giving them 5 stars was that they don't have carne asada tacos on the menu. Besides that GREAT!

I was in town for an overnight trip and wanted some good west Texas Mexican food. This place hit the mark, with soothing Mexican music and a friendly staff that was very attentive, I had a great lunch. Attend with chips and a spicy only mildly chunky salsa and the Chile con Queso with mild diced jalapeño and onion based pico de gallo. Mmmmm I had the Tacos Al Carbon and the steak was diced lean and cooked just right. Fresh cilantro and onions finished these street style tacos. Well done!

Best Mexican food in Odessa, no question. They treat you like family here, welcomed with some salsa and a bowl of chicharrones. Many of their entrees come with extras like guacamole and a cheese chalupa Their mi general plate is delicious, as is their chicken tampiquena and their green chili chicken enchiladas. Honestly nothing I've ever gotten here has been bad. Plus their house margarita's are excellent and you won't regret getting them.

Fantastic place for Tex-Mex every time I visit west Texas. The portions are huge and the sauces are amazing.

Came for lunch. Quick to sit but we were pretty early. Around 11:15 is when we walked in. As soon as you sit, chips and salsa are served. The salsa is delicious. Not too spicy but not too mild either. I ordered the Beef Fajita plate with all the sides. Sides include beans, rice, guacamole & pico de gallo. Beans tasted super authentic. Rice was good along with the fajitas. Overall my experience here was excellent. The ambiance is a busy one during lunch so get there a little early or a little after the lunch rush. I've came here a few times and it's always been the same, good food and great service. The staff here is great. Waitresses are sweet. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to try good food and enjoy a pleasant experience. Will def keep coming back.

Service was fast and efficient. We just pulled into town and based on previous reviews we decided to give it a try. Salsa with chips was spicy just like I like it. I had 2 cheese enchiladas and two tamales with rice and covered in green sauce. It was perfect, just the right amount of cheese, sauce. I had been wanting tamales so tried them and I was glad I did just the right ratio of meat and masa. Hubby had the Mamacita burro and couldn't finish it. Glad we made the stop would definitely come back if ever near Odessa.

It is my boyfriends and I favorite place to eat at and my 6 year old loves your cheeseburgers. My mom loves your cheese enchiladas, it is the best Mexican food in odessa.

We went on a Thursday night, they were very busy. The food was fabulous I had the enchiladas plate with jalapeños sauce. The service was very attentive. That ambiance was very loud. Lots of birthdays

The wait time for a party of 5 was less than 15 minutes for a packed house on a Friday night, which is excellent! Food was hot and delicious and the service was fantastic. Staff is very attentive. And the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming! It was definitely worth the visit!We will be eating here more often!

I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant! I was in the area visiting a friend and we came here for a quick lunch. I ordered chili rellenos and my friend for chicken quesadillas. The food was EXCELLENT! The chili's were very spicy but it was worth it. Our server was attentive, kind and our food came out to us quickly and it was very hot. They do give you pork skins and chips and salsa when you arrive. The location of the restaurant is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. It was clean and organized inside and they had delicious tea. Overall it was a great restaurant! I highly recommend!

This restaurant is in my monthly rotation. The food is always consistently delicious. The fact that they give you pork rinds and tortilla chips with salsa is a game changer. Love the neighbor vibe, reminds me of home cooking. The manager and the wait staff are very attentive and fast. 10 out of 10 recommend.

We've been there several times and enjoy the food. This time not so good. My husband ordered a taco plate, simple enough. He's had it before and enjoyed it this time. I noticed that he was taken the meat out of the taco shell and put it on his plate. and eating the meat and vegetables with the chips that they provide as complementary. He doesn't like to complain, just tries to go with the flow, but I asked him why he wasn't eating his taco shells and they looked extremely greasy. He said that because the taco shells tasted like they had used old grease. He had ordered an additional Tamale to go with the plate the lady was raving about how good the tamales are. She came back and asked if the tamale was good and I told her that he could not eat his taco shells because they tasted like they were old grease. She said I will go ask. She never came back when she walked by our table. I asked her if she had found out what happened to the taco shells if they had used yesterday's taco shells and she didn't even look towards me when she answered was very rude And just said no we don't use yesterday's taco shells we cook fresh ones every day And they're good. The manager never came and checked up on us nothing. So when we were leaving, we went to pay out. The man at the Cash register asked if everything was good. I don't know why he asked because when we told him about the taco shells, he just said well I didn't look at them before they took him back there. He mentioned that the waitress told him about it, but didn't see the taco shells he said. I told him it wasn't like we were lying. I just smiled and took our money and we left.He had a good 35 minutes after we. Told the waitress he could've come to check but didn't care to not even and I'm sorry nothing I think we were treated like we were unimportant. Don't think I'll wanna go back again. I can tolerate bad food, but not bad service

Overall we had an OK experience. We took the family out for dinner when they came into town. The salsa was super good not too hot not too mild. The food was all really good. Fajitas were super tender. The charro beans were a little on the spicy side for me (I'm a wuss). The only issue we had was when it came to getting to go boxes and paying. Our waitress just abandoned us then. She was standing up at the front doing nothing but we finally had to go up and ask another lady if we could get to go boxes and our check 20 minutes later.

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord and eat at Mamasita's afterwards! This was the third or fourth Sunday in a row that we've decided on Mamasita's after Sunday Service. The food and staff are always amazing! If the Lord allows it we'll be back next Sunday!

Fajita plate with ranchero beans and rice with guacamole and pico de gallo! Mmmmm I was skeptical, but I'll tell you it was worth it, and they bring you tortilla chips salsa and chicharrones wow wow I loved it! Service is perfect!

Finally a Mexican restaurant that has amazing authentic red chili sauce. First time there I just ordered take out but wow! My order even came with chips and salsa. Doing that small gesture was actually what gave them 5 stars. Definitely my place to go for real Mexican food.

Beef enchiladas were super tasty. My husband had the tamales and said they were really good. Great prices and very friendly wait staff. The restrooms were very clean as was the dining area. We will be back the next time we are in Odesa.

It's a great place to grab some food and drinks. The queso and atmosphere are amazing, and the prices are reasonable. Service is always welcoming and friendly. However, their margaritas are a bit weak, so you might want to try something else.

Pretty decent place to eat. One of the couple things that made them loose a in my opinion is every time i order fajitas it's just meat and onions. No jalapeños no bell pepper's and when i get the tampica it's over cooked.

We were driving through Odessa and looking for a place to eat. We read the reviews and added 15 mins to our trip for our dinner. Well worth it! The service was prompt and very helpful. The dining space clean and spacious. The beans and rice perfect. The enchilada delicious. We also had a burrito, taco enchilada plate. All quickly consumed! Highly recommend!

Stopped in for lunch at 11:15 was seated right away. We ordered a chicken dish and cheese enchiladas. Nothing fancy. The wait for lunch was extremely long. We finally were served about 12:15. At that time the place was packed. It seemed maybe our server forgot about our order as all the other people there were served in a timely manner. When lunch finally arrived the food was ok.

My husband and I went for a date lunch and it was amazing. Everything about it was spectacular. Unique and authentic environment. The entire staff was supreme. All kind, helpful, and happy doing what they are doing. We will be back many times more to come.

The fresh made chicharron's are fantastic, light and airy! It doesn't matter what you order from the menu, it's ALL good food. I personally love the grilled catfish!! The staff are all fantastic, from the manager to the waitstaff, the atmosphere is filled with laughter, conversations among friends...it's like being at Mamasita's Casa! Keep up the good work y'all and I'll keep introducing my friends to your establishment. ~^..^~

This place is super good and I don't like a lot of Mexican restaurants. My only complaint is i think there's a new cook there so depending who's in the kitchen changes if I like the food the same.

Place is always packed which detours us from coming here more often but that's because it's so good. From the fajitas to the combo plates I have never left unsatisfied.

They use recipes from the owners family passed down and from Mexico! Authentic food that is delicious! If you haven't tried it yet you should!

The waitresses are always in top of things. The food is DELICIOUS & fast! Chef's kiss! My husband and I love mamasita's!

My husband and I went for lunch/dinner. Mamasita's is usually busy and I have always enjoyed their service. Today was no different. I especially like the cloth napkins which are red this time of year. the wait staff are always fast and professional, my tea/ water was always filled and was asked if I would be interested in dessert, and whether I wanted to have a to-go tea or water. I ordered beef tacos and asked if I could have charro beans instead of refried. Of course you are served a basket of tostada chips, chicharones and salsa. All very good.

2 stars because my server was so sweet! But the food not so much... the queso is basically melted velveeta. The sour cream came out in a packet... I think that was the first red flag for me Chicken has no flavor. Do not order it. Got the taquitos for something quick but they were under cooked and not too delish. The staff were super sweet! But the food ranks pretty poorly.

The best thing was that they served chicharrones along with tortilla chips with their salsa. It was the first time I have seen that so big points for them. The chips were light and served hot so another score. We had to wait a little bit for a table because the place isn't big. Service was above average but I can't say that for my chicken fajita salad. The chicken wasn't well seasoned and it was incredibly dry. Service and the chicharrones push from a 2 to a 3 star but not my favorite place in the city.

Excellent service. I ordered the Carne Taco plate. It was delicious and way more than I could eat. I loved the rice and beans as well. Ordered a house version of a Pina Colada and not only did It have a nice presentation, it also tasted great! It was definitely a dessert drink.

Good food for the price, the food has flavor, salsa was good, queso tasted store bought which wasn't too good. Overall wasn't bad at all.
