"Mameg is tucked away behind the mirror-fronted Maison Martin Margiela on Little Santa Monica, and should you not know to look, you’d never know it was there. But search it out, and you’ll find a pretty rarified world. Here Eatable of Many Orders sweaters mingle with Cosmic Wonders dresses, and Jil Sander cardigans rest next to Hussein Chalayan hats."

Exquisite chic European clothing and accessories in a magical space with an adjacent garden. One of kind accessories in a special boutique setting.

Yelp
This is my review of mameg from years ago. It was posted on their old yelp page but deserves to be on their current page so everyone can see how racist and disgusting the shop owners truly are. I left this review unedited from the original, although I regret that I didn't highlight the racism more. Hopefully it speaks for itself. this is a small boutique that carries "avant garde" designers (notice the quotation marks around avant garde) behind the margiella store in bev hills. if i could give this place half a star i would. i have only been in a handful of times but every time i do the owner acts as if she is doing me a favor by allowing me in the store. today i experienced the worst treatment by them yet. i went in, asked to try on a pair of shoes, the woman looked at me like i was a homeless person and gave me one shoe. i had to ask for the other, which she reluctantly walked about 3 paces to get. when i asked from where the designer originated she responded in a very dismissive tone: "they're handmade." yeah, well that wasn't my question. then i took the shoes off with her watching me the whole time. i went upstairs and looked around. found a jil sander piece that i wanted to try on, took it off the rack and told the woman (who at this point had followed me upstairs even though another sales woman was right there) that i was going to try it on. she took the article of clothing from me and said "this is jil sander." in the snottiest tone imaginable, and then paused to see my reaction. "let me check to see if this is your size first." then, "this is a size 38, are you a size 8?" (clearly i'm much smaller than a size 8, she obviously knew this) "you're a size 4 (actually i'm a size 2, but okay.) and i don't have that," she said as she put the piece back on the rack. utterly baffled and humiliated i continued to walk around the store with her eagle eyeing me the whole time. after i left my friend prodded me to call the store and voice my concern. i got the same witch who had "waited" on me (apparently the owner). when i told her that i was concerned about my treatment in the store, her response was "i heard you say you think we treat you poorly, then you're welcome not to come back." to top all of this off i'm a young black woman. has anyone ever heard a business owner basically blatantly admit to discrimination by telling a customer not to come back when they voice a concern over being treated horribly in their store? yeah, i haven't either. stay far away from this very unclassy establishment. p.s. mameg isn't even that good. the clothes are very run of the mill late 90's deconstruction minimalist blah blah blah. boutiques like mameg are a dime a dozen in new york and europe, and the staff actually knows how to treat their customers in those places.

Yelp
Hands down the best store in Las Angeles. Partnering with Margiela in location and spirit. For the people who insist on having a memorable (fashion) experience you must not miss Mameg. The owners become friends and you will want to return. I may not be able to purchase the dream items yet I feel respected for my appreciation for their carefully curated shop. For me, almost like a museum.

Yelp
This is a beautiful store behind MMM and I'm surprised there are no reviews here. Mameg stocks a ton of brands that are pretty much impossible to find anywhere else. Been on the hunt for Isaac Reina wallets and this place is stocked with them. Service is really friendly and the SA went out of her way to help me find what I was looking for. Private lot parking
