I figured I’d try the double steak burrito wet because it sounded delicious. Too me it just had no flavor at all. The street tacos were way tastier and I would probably reorder. Texture wise I couldn’t tell the difference between the beans the asada and the guacamole. Being as I love spicy food I thought I would enjoy the chipotle cheese and I absolutely did not enjoy it at all. The burritos wet sauce was delicious and the burrito was of decent size I just wasn’t happy with the insides of it. The taco asada to me tasted way better and the habanero salsa was not hot but held pretty decent flavor. I don’t know what the red sauce was made out of but that was good as well.

Stopped in at Mami’s Mexican Grill on W 11th with Laura and Hunter for the Mami’s Nachos with carne asada. The grilled steak was tender, smoky, and perfectly seasoned, pairing beautifully with the creamy guacamole and tangy sour cream. Hunter bet me $500 he could finish the plate—he didn’t come close! I also tried the guava Mexican cola (tropical, sweet, and fizzy) while Laura had the pineapple—both were delicious. Friendly service here every time. Highly recommend!

Google
Usually I love it here, been a customer since it opened! Lately the quality has gone down so much, more and more. Today I got it again cause im a sucker for the tamales and both my tamales this time had inedible objects in them. And they were different kinds so from different batches 😭🤢 Had string, a piece of wrapper, a piece of paper and some spongey chunk that idk what it was.

Google
I had an absolutely massive burrito with their Al Pastor meat option. It was so delicious! Their service is FAST. They have a nice cold case to the side where you can help yourself to radishes, limes, other fresh produce and their selection of house made salsas to jazz up your meal.

Google
All in all it was mediocre. The beans and rice were very authentic but they were served warm. The soft tacos really didn't have much on them, meat and cabbage. I had had the pork tamales. They were large and the meat was tender but was lacking in spice. The plates were spendy for what you get. When they brought the food it came with an apology. They explained, they were out of silverware but they did have a plastic fork. Drinks are included with the meal. All in all, if we revisit this place I will revise my review based on the next meal, if we come back.

Google
We used to love going here, but had a really poor experience a few days ago. We went through the drive thru, waited about 5 minutes at the speaker to place an order and no one came. We decided to drive up to the window because we thought maybe the speaker was broken, we couldn’t see anyone through the drive thru window despite them being open, so we called (could hear the phone ringing from inside) and no one answered so we decided to leave. When we drove past the big windows for the seating area there were 2 female employees sitting at the window and they looked over and laughed as we drove by after being purposefully ignored. Not a good look and not how to run a business.

Google
I haven't had much here, but the tacos carnitas I just had were my favorite in Eugene so far. A little lighter, not oily, lots of browning on the pork. Red sauce is better than average too

Google
I love the Hugh tamales. Their delicious but too spicy. I wish they would make some without the spicy flavors for us senior citizens that can't have spice anymore. Bummer

Yelp
Usually I order online through GrubHub, but no matter how many times I've ordered from this restaurant, their food has always been crazy-delicious, made with care, piping hot and fresh! I have never had a complaint, and they have never once made a mistake on any order! The staff have been friendly and hospitable, and make you feel very welcomed! Honestly, I'm pretty sure that I actually cried once, when I realized that they were already closed. All-in-all, I am very thankful for everything that these guys do and for every meal! Have a great day, Emma.

Yelp
We stopped here on a hot day for some food and it was fairly cool inside as long as you avoid the sunny tables. I enjoyed the chicken tamale and the veggie tostada and was thrilled by the hidden salsa bar, tucked away to the right of the drinks fridge. That pale orange pink salsa on the right is super hot! Service was friendly and fairly quick. There are keys on the counter for the single occupancy men's and women's rest rooms. There is also a drive-thru which I look forward to trying some day.

Yelp
My husband ordered me a two cheese enchilada plate to go I got 3 prepared cold cheese enchiladas (?) wrapped in limp corn tortillas covered in tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and sour cream. Not cooked, not heated. Not covered in red or green sauce. If you do NOT make cheese enchiladas, just say so. Don't serve up this slop. Shame on you!!

Yelp
Yes... it's great! Best taco salad I've had since Cafe 440 closed-- they BOSSED out the nachos! No, I haven't sampled the nachos here, but if my amazing taco salad is any precursor... I expect it will be a 10. Don't know why no one told me about Mami's before.. but, I called my son and he said: mom... they make the BEST burritos in town! What??? You never told me... you adorable little RAT! My friend, Dan ordered the fish taco plate and loved every bite. Some places in town give you a tiny plastic condiment "to go" quarter cup of salsa and pico de gallo... and charge $ for extras... but, as you can see, Mami's rolls HOT! Their condiment bar made me shout out a well-deserved THANK YOU and their habanero salsa is actually HOT... that made me verrrrry happy! The restaurant itself is not very big, but can hold a large group or two. My only complaint is that it was rather cold inside. Take a warm jacket. The front door isn't sealed properly and you can feel the winter air breezing right in. I wouldn't want to pay their electricity bill! I had to restrain myself from telling the staff that it wouldn't take much to add some weatherstripping where the 2 front doors meet. Hello... owners... if you don't own the building, the company that does NEEDS to handle that inefficient gap or pay 25% of your EWEB bill! Seriously, I've earned my novice construction acumen via gut-wrenching remodels. Back to the food: Can't wait to go back!

Abraxas M.

Yelp
There were ants in our drinks. Weird papers in our burritos. Missing sauces. This is the first time I've been disappointed by Mami's but ants!? Never again.

Sealtea D.

Yelp
Pretty good burritos, but service is terrible.I like sauces, usually two of each red/green. I would even pay extra for the sauces, but they refuse. They are like gollum, but instead of a ring it's fucking sauce. They shall not release the sauce.

Yelp
I've tried this place a couple times and both times have been disappointing. The first time we ordered online and the wait was long even after it was due to be ready. The second time (a week ago) I went through the drive-thru and it took 20 minutes of waiting by the window to get the food after I paid. The food itself was sub-par. The chicken in the tamales was really spicy and didn't have much flavor, but the masa itself was good and moist. The rice didn't have much seasoning, and the tacos were pretty skimpy.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
I just had an amazing chipotle Quesadilla with marinated chicken. It was served with sour cream and a nice portion of real guacamole. Only $10.50 and a good size
google avatar

Fawn T.

Yelp
The service was really great. It was very clean and the food was fresh. I ordered the Mami burrito and thought it was very good. I will go back.

Nikki R.

Yelp
I am a Doordasher. I arrived and the order had not been started. The gentleman who pulled the ticket said about 4 minutes to prepare. There was one person dining and one person at the drive through. Another dasher came in and picked up an order in about two minutes. I asked where my order was. I waited 20 minutes... for nachos. Not sure if it was a bad day, but this was a record wait time.
google avatar

Yelp
Oof. I ordered a few burritos on their website and sent my husband over to pick them up on a weeknight. It said it would be 20-35 minutes. My husband got there and waited while watching quite a few other frustrated folks. It took about an hour for us to get our food. I got a chile relleno burrito, my little one got the biggest bean and cheese burrito I've ever seen for only $2.95, and my husband got the California burrito. My chile relleno burrito was pretty tasty and was wrapped well so I could get a good mix in every bite. We sat down to eat our gigantic burritos at home and I got an unwelcome surprise. I bit into a toothpick! Luckily it was sticking up so I only bit the tip and then pulled it out. I continued eating and found a SECOND toothpick. I sort of lost my appetite then and it was huge so I ended up saving it for lunch. I did end up having it for lunch another day and I didn't find any more toothpicks. It was pretty tasty but the whole experience was off-putting. We'll probably give Mami's a break for a while.

Yelp
If you're hungry for Mexican food, and I mean REALLY hungry, Mami's has your appetite covered. Their FatBoy burrito is humongous...and was the most grande burrito on the table among us! Nacho Libre said "When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun"  If you order the Nacho Libre (nachos plate), you better wear your stretchy pants to make room for this enormous meal... stretchy pants are not just for fun if you're going to tackle this mountain of food! All the ingredients were fresh, flavorful and the serving sizes for these two items are big enough to share. "Be grateful, Juan Pablo. Today is especially delicious". ~ Nacho Libre. Service was fast and friendly and the dining room clean and comfortable. I can see why this place is so popular with the locals that are in the know! And now, some Nacho Libre trivia, because, why not? Nacho Libre (the movie, not the chips) is actually based (loosely) on the real-life Catholic priest, Reverend Sergio Gutiérrez Benítez. He actually wrestled for 23 years under the name "Fray Tormenta" (Friar Storm). That's right...a real luchador that wrestled to care for real-life orphans!

Yelp
So much Cilantro that it was overwhelming and most went down the drain and the food was a little too hot for this gringa. I had requested no rice and more beans but I got both of them anyway. So this won't be on my go to list in the future
google avatar

Brock B.

Yelp
Had a burrito here a couple of times. Very generous but, just average taste. My wife thought their quesadilla was very good.
google avatar

Bruce S.

Yelp
We eat takeout from here perhaps once a month. Their food is awesome! I usually get the Fat Boy burrito "wet", and it's usually more than I can eat, and it's delicious! Their menu is very extensive, and prices are decent.
google avatar

Natalie v.

Yelp
It was my first time dining here. We ordered the Cali burrito (includes fries inside). It was a huge burrito. I got the taco plate (3 tacos, beans, rice and a drink for $11.95). Great deal!! Get the horchata! House made and not from a machine. Excellent service. Everyone was so nice. The habanero sauce is spicy!!
google avatar

Bonita R.

Yelp
I love this place! The best Mexican. I come here every year on the way to the beach!
google avatar

Bonnie L.

Yelp
I love the food here but Do Not recommend delivery with Grubhub, I don't know where the went to but the food was not delivered to my apartment. I received notification from Mamies that it had been picked up and on its way. I am very sick or I would have gone there myself to pick up. I am starving!
google avatar

Corinne B.

Yelp
The pork tamales were better than the chicken tamales, and the beans and rice were good. This was an online order, so ambiance and service are things I can't say anything about. Good tamales!
google avatar

Dawn G.

Yelp
A great stop for casual Mexican. We ordered the carne asada fries and they were SO good. The carne asada was flavorful and cooked so well, with a nice charred crust but not overdone inside. We also got some tacos, the California burrito and the kids bean and cheese burrito, which was a steal at $3 and made for two meals it was so large. The salsa was also really good, very fresh with unique chips that seemed thicker than normal chips yet not hard. Everything was delicious and prices were very reasonable. Will definitely come back if in the Eugene area again.

Liam M.

Yelp
love this place, the restaurant is very clean, lively and has a nice staff. The food prices are surprisingly low for how much you get and how good it is (not to mention they are quick). personal favorites are the Mami's and Sancho Burritos.
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
Excellent food, service and price! I highly recommend Mami's! I'll be back soon!
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
We just moved to Eugene a few weeks ago, and we've eaten at Mami's four times already! The food is delicious (my favorite order so far has been the Porky Burrito). The price is also very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Mami's will definitely be one of our frequent go-to restaurants in Eugene :)
google avatar

Doug R.

Yelp
Excellent chicken enchilada plate. I also order a shrimp taco, also excellent. Will I return? Yes. The worst thing I can say is that the menu does not list a combination plate, allowing me to sample/enjoy a cross-section of the menu.

Steve P.

Yelp
Food is good...wait time is absurd. We went in for lunch at 11:50 on a Saturday, ordered and didn't get our chips and guacamole until 30 minutes later and we were one of only three tables there. Multiple people came into order after we did and waited 30 - 35 min to get a to go order. The main problem is that they prioritize Door Dash and other services over customers who are in the restaurant. The cooking staff is small and seemed overwhelmed. Again, the food was great, but unless you have an hour to spend at a taco shop, go somewhere else....

Gavin R.

Yelp
Delicious food! Very fast and quick service! Great workers and helpful when needed! Menu right when you walk in!
google avatar

Aida F.

Yelp
This was extremely underwhelming: you walk in & the music is a bit too loud with lots of bass; while someone must have started cleaning tables, yet maybe didn't finish as the cloth was left on a table near us. You order food then take a seat; it's also a drive through, so maybe I was expecting too much ‍ Onto the meals: I order the chicken red enchiladas, while the kid ordered a burrito. The enchiladas sauce tasted like plain tomato sauce, the filling was nice, but when combined with the flavorless sauce & that the outside of the enchiladas were cool, not so great. There was rice & beans, all relatively basic. The kid's burrito was supposed to have no sour cream or cheese, followed by rice, beans & avocado; she returned it when she realized it had sour cream, but the 2nd one had cheese, which she ended up attempting to pick out - have you tried picking out melted cheese? In short, disappointing. Oh why didn't she return it a second time, because she was too hungry to wait a second time & thus attempting to pick out the cheese. Won't be making a second trip.

JJ B.

Yelp
This place has declined in all areas. Service and food. We ordered a torta and they put sliced hot dogs in it instead of ham. Tacos asada were nowhere as good as they use to be. This is our last visit.

Corie A.

Yelp
One of my favorite Mexican spots! I love getting a chorizo sope. The chilaquilles are also yummy! Service is always fast and everyone is nice. The portions are great for the price. I can't recommend this place enough! I would say the one thing I wouldn't order is a tamale. We tried them and they were ok. Everything else we have ordered has been great.
google avatar

Mark F.

Yelp
The claim they have the best tamales in Eugene is laughable. My wife accidentally ordered and had delivered to our house last week. She forgot that we'd already tried in the past. She had a few bites of her meal and the rest went in the garbage. I struggled eating the first of two tamales and gave the second to someone at work the next day. I enjoyed l the salsas, but best tamales in Eugene, is a big stretch to say the least.
google avatar

Love To E.

Yelp
I think they changed the cook several times and its now not as great as the first time they open. The red sauce still taste the same though. The tamales are oversized and it become not so good it came out soggy most of the time. One time i ordered a complete meal, the rice was so oily its unreal! When I told this to the waiter, she said,"I cooked the rice." And...i showed her how I can separate oil from my rice thats how oily it was. And she didnt say anything...didnt try to fix it either or try to compensate. Not that I want my money back, but hey I spend $ for ur "best eugene tamales"... I never really come back there. Their restaurant sign also got burnt or weathered but they dont bothered to change or fix it. So..there you go.

Mary R.

Yelp
The tamales are huge and good. We often get their fish tacos. The water from the drink dispenser tasted moldy.
google avatar

Amisha P.

Yelp
Amazing food and quick service!!! The meat was cooked perfectly and they do not skimp you on it! And the asada burrito (not pictured) was huge!
google avatar

Heather J.

Yelp
I would rather give this, no stars . I ordered from DoorDash this evening really wanting a tamale, a pork tamale. I ordered three of them and beans and rice. Unfortunately I got crap got three hot tamales that were chicken that tasted so spicy I couldn't eat them they never said spicy on the menu and I ordered two things of beans that were undercooked, the worst fucking meal I've ever had and all Grubhub can do is give me four dollars back that's bullshit I will never order from this place again and I'm going to troll the shit out of them now because I was hungry and wanted the proper order for the money I paid.
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Service was fast and the person who helped me was nice. I picked up an order so I did not dine in their establishment. The tamales are so bad.. maybe it's because I've had real tamales from family and friends, but these are terrible. The chicken one is like slimy and the rajas one has like chunky weird cheese inside, nothing like what I have had. The only redeeming part was the horchata. Would not eat here again sadly
google avatar

Mari R.

Yelp
The nachos are delicious! The tamales are good very big! To get 2 orders of nachos, tamale, poppers, and burrito took 20 minutes to get. To get a large salsa $5 super worth it!
google avatar

Mariah F.

Yelp
Overall not a bad experience this time! Got 2 asada tacos, & 1 pork taco with rice and beans, a burrito, and chips & cheese. I have to say the cheese just taste like reesers gross nacho dip. I was hoping for some homemade authentic queso dip. Chips aren't my favorite either. Super thick and plain tasting. Tacos were good and the burrito was good too. Rice and beans were good but not a top 5 for Mexican restaurants around town. Overall decent meal and filling.

Travis W.

Yelp
Food was decent. Their chips and salsa is below average as was their tacos. Friendly staff.

Aubrey M.

Yelp
Their food is really good the best mexican food I have ever had especially their horcahta, the people there are especially nice and welcoming.
google avatar

Aubree M.

Yelp
Delicious authentic fish taco! It instantly transported me back to Ensenada. Classic chips and salsa (pico). Also had an asada taco which I topped with the pickled onions and verse salsa. Good and spicy. Only let down was that they weee out of cerveza (beer). Enjoyed my meal outside.
google avatar

Duck C.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken burrito. All I could taste was the really spicy salty chicken. I thought there was spaghetti noodles in my burrito, but it turned out to be some kind of cheese that was not melted. It wasn't cohesive and had a very spicy flavor that I really didn't like that much. Overall, the burrito was big and well presented but I wouldn't get the chicken here. It tastes like spice and nothing else.
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
Good food. Very clean bathrooms Would eat here again next time we passed through Eugene
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
I love Mexican food! But I really love authentic Mexican food!!! The pork tamale is amazing the meat to the Maza ratio is perfect. The burrito is ridiculous. If I had to do it again I probably would only order one not both, but I am up to the challenge. I really enjoyed their Verde salsa. The restaurant is very clean as well as the cooking area. That's comforting. It's always fun to find the small businesses who make some phenomenal food for the people that come to enjoy. They also have some authentic juices and drinks. This restaurant is great for families. They are friendly and very accommodating. So just for the record. I couldn't finish both the tamale and burrito. . But it was fun trying to do it!

Sara M.

Yelp
Good always good, but the service is shit. I called in an order and have been sitting in the drive thru waiting for about 10 minutes. That's how long the told me it would take to make it. Not happy
google avatar

Jamie P.

Yelp
They pitch you on Eugene's best Tamales... and there's a reason for it. The pork tamale is well sized and delicious. Great level of spice and flavor... have it with the red sauce for a little additional kick. Need to come back to try the other varieties. I also got the Chimichanga plate. Huge portion filled with meat, cheese and beans deep fried to a golden brown and then topped with cheese, sour cream and smashed avocado. Sides of beans and rice. All at a very fair price...
google avatar

Geoff B.

Yelp
I met the brothers when they first launched Mami's - at the time I witnessed them putting everything they had into making a local brand that matters & all these years later they've remained the most authentic expression of Mexican cuisine in the valley. I can't help but laugh at the negative comments on the speed of their food - I prefer homemade, real food - y'all can go to Taco Bell for fast food. Mami's is not that, it's the best flavor in EUG. And in my mind worth waiting a few more minutes for. Well done Mami's!!
google avatar

Charlene W.

Yelp
We're from California where they make REAL Mexican food !! Sorry but this place was bad. Tamales burritos were all not worth finishing. Pass it
google avatar

Mars M.

Yelp
I have only experienced the drive thru. The flavor of my takeout tacos was wonderful.. I will eat here again and would love to explore the menu...

Nicholas G.

Yelp
I used to go there a lot because it was cheap and great food. then I had a few raw tamale, then i had bad service, then the last time I went I spent 35 minutes in a drive thru with one person in front of me and one behind only to fine out that they are out of what I orderd and I could buy something else instead. never going again
